Ah, thanks! That's such an awesome dark-sounding name for an album!!I reeeaaally hope Sony promote her album a lot better than the way they promoted her singles.... Anyways, I wanna see some previews soon :)

Yum!Fruit_Salad! 6th December 2008 06:15 AM

^ It's Sony so expect nothing. -.-

Kagome-chan 6th December 2008 01:21 PM

I agree...There aren't promotions..nothing =_=

yoshino 6th December 2008 04:06 PM

yeah.. it doesn't seem to have much promotions though, sadly.

I like her songs, sounds kinda classical.. =)

Yum!Fruit_Salad! 6th December 2008 08:05 PM

Even if Sony does promote, the single really won't go anywhere much.

AyUta 6th December 2008 08:14 PM

We can just hope for the best.

you mean album? :laugh

i dunno, other well known sony artists get good promo (YUI, UVERworld, etc..) but we honestly can't tell how much promotion there really is unless we're in japan, lol.

but kanon does need more promotion, though :yes but yuna ito got very good promotion and she flopped, so...who knows? :P

kawaii otaku 6th December 2008 10:57 PM

yes but Kanon's style doesn't honestly appeal to a very wide audience.

Yum!Fruit_Salad! 7th December 2008 04:04 AM

Eh, dumb fingers. I mean to type album.

I still find the whole Yuna flopping so confusing. From what someone was saying, she was pretty much where lots people would be and reaches #44 on Oricon.

maybe even with promotion, a single can't do well unless the general public really likes the song, you know? i think, like someone mentioned, kanon's style dosen't fit every audience. it's not that mainstream, so i dunno, maybe for her style of music, her sales can be considered pretty decent? :shrug she still sold more that others like rie fu or sifow, lol.

Yum!Fruit_Salad! 7th December 2008 09:29 PM

I would think sifow's and Rie fu's style would be more appealing than Kanon's to the Japanese public. Well, if Kanon's sales are considered decent for her music style, then she's doing pretty okay and guess I should be content with the sales. I'm just hoping the majority of people buying the singles aren't obsessed otakus who need everything related to the Vampire Knight merchandise, not saying the people buying don't really love what they're hearing, I don't want their obsession to be most of Kanon's success.

GRACE 7th December 2008 10:53 PM

^I would actually say that it probably is mostly Vampire Knight fans buying her singles. Vampire Knight is immensely popular, and a lot of people are crazy-into it

octocoffee 8th December 2008 03:58 AM

^ I agree with that. I mean, considering that Kanon is definitely out of the mainstream in music style, without Vampire Knight I doubt she'd even be charting. It was a really good tie-in for her. Since she's only released two singles, both for Vampire Knight, I think her album might do modestly since people seem to be interested in her.

And if they happen to like the album, Kanon will gain some fans that will sincerely like her music separate from their VK obsession. I mean, that's basically how I got into her in the first place. So I don't mind that maybe one album's success could be attributed to the anime.

Yum!Fruit_Salad! 8th December 2008 04:25 AM

I have no problems if most of the Vampire Knight fans are buying her singles, but I also want it to be them liking her music style, not simply for collections sake. The anime certainly is a great way for her talent to be noticed and if it makes more fans okay then, I want there to be fans following her after the anime.

AyUta 8th December 2008 08:03 AM

I was searching wikipedia and came across a link to a bio of Kanon. It tells us more about her and there's an interview that Yuki Sugie did on Kanon about her and Mana. Interesting stuff. You'll most likely learn something new about her here folks ;)
