What do you think of Ayu's crying?

I'm just asking this innocently so please do not jump all over me *cringes*

So what do you think? I mean as in her tours mostly...as most of the time in videos it is fake.

Do you like it?
Do you think it's real?
Is it annoying? (ouch)

Now these aren't my opinions...I'm just asking in general. I personally think it's sweet...but I just want to get other people's take on it.

Also, sorry if there's already a thread like this. I wasn't able to find anything but I could've overlooked it.

Kingdom 5th May 2010 03:24 AM

I don't know if I would say it's fake, but I don't look forward to it while watching a tour. It doesn't bug me when she does cry though.

love in music 5th May 2010 03:26 AM

I like it when she's actually crying and not fake crying. I think she's fake crying whenever she moves her head around and reaches for shuya and he dances. I like when it's genuine, like her performances of Memorial address, MY ALL, untitled ~for her~, teddy bear @ cdl 09-10, Sunset @ at09, etc.

pommy48 5th May 2010 03:32 AM

I don't like it at all in the special screens like with HANABI @ AT08

But I do love it when she cries when she's singing a song ♥

gallowsCalibrator 5th May 2010 03:47 AM

When she is crying for real, my heart breaks because you can so tell when it's real, and she looks so sad I just want to hug her and cry :cry She looks so sweet when she's crying :weep Her fake crying is not as heartfelt and doesn't make me burst into tears, but it doesn't annoy me :)

AyuGAME 5th May 2010 04:34 AM

i think when she perform and cry, i think its real, because most of her lyrics is sooo emotional...and i think it's important for a singer sing a song very emotionally...

for a video or PV, yeah...i think it's fake, but i don't think she use a fake eyesdrop, i think its her real tears, she acted it out...and i think she did a good job on it

Polyrhythm 5th May 2010 04:51 AM

I hate fake crying: clutching chest and letting the fake tears flow during the dances with Shuya as people above mentioned.

I think she is gorgeous when she cries in earnest, as like in walking proud @ AT05. She really doesn't need to fake it too. Everyone can see she is an emotional wreck by the end of her shows :P

JackieRos 5th May 2010 05:10 AM

I only like it when it's real but when it's fake I just get annoyed.

My favorite cry was when she was singing HEAVEN in (m)u tour, I cried too.

SURREAL__RAINBOW 5th May 2010 05:15 AM

Her "fake crying" is alright... I don't mind. As long as she is showing off her feelings and the feelings of the lyrics, etc.

But I do love and sometimes cry along too when she cries while singing and its very obvious that it is real.

For example, I did not cry at all during her ballads performances in AT09 (GREEN/Days), but I indeed cried for when she performed End roll in AT08... seeing her crying for real to that song was just too touching.

chloeM 5th May 2010 10:50 AM

when she's crying for real, it comes naturally...~ that's what i love~

Not~Yet 5th May 2010 12:39 PM

It's really touching when she cries obviously for real, and her fake crying doesn't bother me if I'm alone, but makes me feel a bit awkward if I'm watching it with someone. :laugh

AngelSenshi 5th May 2010 01:24 PM

Seeing her really crying makes me cry, often because the song or whatever she's saying really would hit me, and sometimes you can understand where she's coming from with her tears. You can understand them, you know?

Even in PVs and such, I really do think she's crying in most of them. Since she has so much feeling even in her PVs, I really think they are her true emotions, even if she has to call upon sadder things to be able to get the tears to start flowing.

So when there's all real emotions in the performances and in the songs and PVs, then I have no problem with it, it tends to stir emotions up in me too.

On stage it doesn't bother me very much, but of course there is a bit of a difference when she's forcing it and when she isn't.

Nayaichigo 5th May 2010 01:30 PM

When she cries for real like singing MY ALL etc. really touches me and makes me cry too ;_____;
Fake crying doesn't really bother me that much.... if it doesn't look painfully forced LOL XD

noisy_harmony 5th May 2010 01:39 PM

I don't like when I don't know is she's really crying or not, like in the ballad section at Arena 09.

waterballoon 5th May 2010 01:51 PM

when it's real it's gorgeous and heartbreaking like end of concerts, A Song is born @ Stadium Tour 2002, Memorial address/teddy bear @ AT 03-04/CDL 09-10 etc

BUT when it's her fake crying.. oh God save me. it's just tacky, cheesy, irritating, bad, stupid-looking, and overall just stop it Ayu. PLEASE.

Mirrorcle Monster 5th May 2010 01:55 PM

I think tears are very cute, and i think she really feels what she sings

agreed,

but i'd not say that i hate it but i'm like "why you have to do that Ayu,i want your real sincere tears from your heart :dead2"

yes,i miss the time when shes singing Who and shes crying that's really touched me and i'm crying when i watch that, like Dome Tour 2001,Stadium Tour 2002 and AT05 but now seems like everybody want to cry with her on the stage,i mean the dancers and sometimes its just like a must thing to do before they end the show and i dont really like it :no

when she's really crying while singing,i'm ok with that,in fact thats what i want, the singer who really put the emotion into a song.

in the PV like Days,i know she really trying to do it like real, and she did a good job :yes

Luvia 5th May 2010 02:12 PM

sometimes i find it a bit over-reacting... however sometimes it looks so real that make you go crying together with her.. :yes

dulceku 5th May 2010 02:59 PM

I can understand that she cries while performing some kind of songs, specially those with sad lyrics that really mean something to her. But I find that, only sometimes, she overreacts a little. Just a little. I don't mean that her crying is fake, but some gestures with her hands while crying are totally unnecesary, as the oversniff. I think she doesn't fake the crying, but she makes sure that everyone notices. I don't think that is wrong anyway, and maybe she doesn't even notice that she makes those gestures.

Alias 5th May 2010 03:08 PM

Like many people said, real crying is really touching thing, but fake-crying can be a little annoying sometimes, but that depends on the song that she's performing and my mood. xP

I agree! If Ayu acts crying in PVs, but make it well, I don't mind it.

2Hurt 5th May 2010 03:31 PM

Sometimes her crying make me cry aswell, but thats when I really feel it's real, if I don't feel that, it doesn't make me cry, but I don't find it annoying or anything.. but most of the time it seems real though :yes

dartsofpleasure 5th May 2010 04:42 PM

She didn't used to do it as much so the tears seemed more genuine and more touching. I think she overuses it now so it has lost its effect on me, but there are still times when you can tell she means it <3.

I'm torn between thinking "well, it's her signature thing to cry!" and "no, ayu, you don't need to cry during the 10,000,000th performance of 'Who..'"

dulceku 5th May 2010 05:36 PM

I sometimes think that the reason of why is she crying too much last years is actually because of her hearing, maybe she feels happy of a great performance or either too sad if she didn't do too well.
I can't avoid to cry along D;

Andrenekoi 5th May 2010 06:17 PM

So, according to some people here... When they like it, real. When they dislike it, fake.

I don't mind when she cries, being it "real" or "fake", it's her job to put emotion on her performance

No it's her job to make her performances the absolute best she can. And overusing the tears makes her performance suffer.

primavera♥ 5th May 2010 10:07 PM

often her crying makes me cry. or her just being sad can make me cry as im overemotional and i can tell when its pretty genuine.

the times with shuya and such i never considered crying at all. just overemotional acting, but with het lyrics and such its easy to get into a lot of the emotions and i dont find it soo fake. but i never really see her cry at those times. just make sad faces. its still having those emotions to me, no? i like that about ayu still :)

when i actually see the tears naturally streaming it becomes obvious to me if its sincere.

i love ayu teary moments a lot ^___^

Kazeyomi 5th May 2010 10:15 PM

I only dislike that when it's fake. That's annoying.
But I love when it looks true like in HANABI -episode II- and Don't look back PVs

AyUta 6th May 2010 01:52 AM

Yup, when it's obviously forced, I get annoyed. Sometimes she makes the ugliest faces :laugh.

asmAyumi1992 6th May 2010 02:23 AM

I don't mind at all.. Idk which is her fake or the real cry. I think, they just look the same to me. fyi, I ove her crying during sing songs.

AyusakiFan 27th June 2010 03:30 PM

When I see her cry at her concerts, I think she is really taking in the moment and saying to herself, "Wow." She looks into those large crowds of fans chanting her name and dancing along with her to her performances and I think she feels really loved and appreciative to be in her position. She's taken on a big role and responsibility to take control of her image and it's really worked out for her. She has stayed true to herself despite all of the success she's gotten and she truly loves what she does.

Dinex_Taiwan 28th June 2010 01:01 PM

Seeing her crying is just the main reason why I wanna go to her concert xD
But if she does fake-crying like Days in AT09...I will probably get out of my seat and retrieve my money ASAP xD

Well... japanese pleople (AKA most of people who pay to watch her concerts) seento enjoy her crying =)

xLuna&1LOVE 28th June 2010 02:00 PM

... I only believed it in her Memorial Address performance. Everybody have seen that so you know what I mean.

Suteisi 28th June 2010 02:20 PM

It depends... sometimes I feel it's a bit too much, other times I cry along.

When I attended AT09, on the last show she cried at the end, and it sounded/looked very real to me. I cried also, I mean WOAW my dream comes true and now it's the end T_______T lol

Spartayu 28th June 2010 03:50 PM

Personally, I believe that some of her cries are fake while some are not. But I think most of it are real, as we know, her songs are written based on her feelings.

(P.S If you don't recognize one of her real cry, I recommend you to watch Don't Look Back)

Yuukiru Imai 28th June 2010 04:53 PM

i think thats real... not fake ^^
so, If i saw ayu crying when singing the song in concert, it was the inspiration of the songs that she brought ^ ^
i think thats very awesome !! ♥

Said this, I don't believe after 12 years a person could be moved everytime she performs.
I believe it becomes a habit.

Anyway i feel moved everytime I see her crying, though it's true or fake

auss246 7th July 2010 11:30 AM

I love how she cries.. not because she's obviously sad, but because it shows she's real, with real emotions, and her songs and fans mean alot to her. For example when she cried in untitled ~for her~ at CDL 07-08, I cried, only because the song (meaning behind the song) really seemed to get to her, and even she can't she be strong and perfect all the time.

habelie 7th July 2010 12:51 PM

I'm alright with it, but I wish she'd do the fake one a little less...it loses its novelty.

se7entheaven 11th July 2010 06:24 AM

Her crying in Days PV is so sweet IMO touching

LastAngel 11th July 2010 08:12 AM

I think most people here are okay with her crying as long as it's not obvious that she's forcing herself.
I like her real cries. It's very touching and it makes me cry too.

I sometimes wish I could read her mind when she cries. I wonder what she thinks of >_>

ah really agree with you..

fake crying really BOTHERS me.. she did it a lot at AT09, it seems like she's trying hard to squeeze a tear..

but I do really like it, when it's real.. like.. err I forgot when it is, the one she sang hanabi? the one where she wore a headpiece with flags print..

channy 11th July 2010 10:02 AM

How can someone tell if Ayu's tears are real or fake ?_?

chocopockymaster 11th July 2010 12:12 PM

I had my iPod on shuffle as I was walking home earlier tonight and MY ALL from AT08 came on...oh my goodness, when her voice broke at the beginning of the song, even I almost started crying. TT__TT

yamadashun 11th July 2010 01:02 PM

i was so touched when she cried during her anniversary 08 April in AT08, in which the big screen on the stage was showing her every past performances from, her first concert? to the latest ones, with an emotional narrative voice-over.

it's the only time i saw ayu shed her tears calmfully, with an expression mixed with happy and touch.
