Patient with listening to full album?

When you get a new CD are you patient to listen to the full songs or
You listen to the first few minutes of a song then skip to the next one
Before putting it in your mp3 player?

I usually have heard the songs that were in a single or a music video before so
I skip those and then I listen to the first few minutes of a song and
if I like what I hear it goes to my iPod but if it's a ballad I just skip it and never hear it.

dreamland2.0 9th June 2010 06:25 PM

I usually listen to the full album and then I put all songs on my ipod and then as I keep listening to it overtime I may delete some songs that I don't listen to all the time.

primavera♥ 9th June 2010 06:34 PM

i tend to be REALLY impatient with ballads.

this situation is like me with Eiko Shimamiya's a Perfect World. i mean it was hard to initially hear all the songs. but once i figured it out i loved them ^__^

but yeah if i hear the first few minutes of something on a new album i will tend to skip it. and come back maybe later . . .like in a week. . .or month. . .

Kazeyomi 9th June 2010 06:43 PM

I listen to the full songs. Even the most crappy album ever lol.
So I can judge an album and if someone's asking me 'hey did you listened that album?' I'll reply 'yes and it sucks :laugh' lol.

2Hurt 9th June 2010 07:15 PM

Hm.. it depends on it really, sometimes I'll listen to the full songs, but sometimes I won't, depends on the artist and the tracks I already heard from the album... usually I will listen to the full tracks though :)

Keiichi_JPU 9th June 2010 07:34 PM

Ehm both :D

- Skip songs
- Put all songs in my iPod

hahah, yeah I have a lot of songs on it I never listen to! :laugh

pommy48 9th June 2010 08:13 PM

I put the entire album in my iTouch and then I listen.....and skip if I don't like it~

Luja. 9th June 2010 08:28 PM

My usual procedure when I get a new CDs is to put them on my iPod and then, we I have a free moment that day (normally in the evening) just sit down and listen to it. The full songs, one after another. I can hear it so much better on the headphones of my iPod.:yes
Normally I don't have to be patient, the songs are over too soon :laugh Since I only buy CDs of artist I really like.

AngelSenshi 9th June 2010 08:42 PM

I listen to the full songs, then I put them on my mp4. Occasionally I won't have time to listen to a full album but I'd be interested in the artist, in that case I put the whole thing on my mp4 and then pick and choose what I keep, though its not uncommon for me to leave the whole album on there.

RyRyMini 9th June 2010 09:02 PM

I try to listen to every song at least once, they all deserve a shot. If they suck, then they don't get added to iTunes - I only add songs to iTunes that I actually like on a consistent basis.

AyUta 10th June 2010 01:33 AM

I always try to listen to the full song, and if I don't like it, I will try it again later to see if it'll grow on me. :)

Cherry Dynamite 10th June 2010 03:43 PM

I feel something's missing if I don't put all the songs from an album in my iPod >.>
I usually put everything on my iPod then I'll listen to it.

Miltonic 10th June 2010 03:44 PM

it depends on the album for me but I am capable of listening to every song if I have time lol

Picaflor 7/4 10th June 2010 06:07 PM

my rule is that if i get a new cd, i will listen to the album in it's entirety. i won't skip a single song from beginning to end the first time i listen to it. other than that, though I'll go back and skip around when listening again. I like to give all songs a fair chance. except for those few occasions like on a remix album or so when a song is like 8 minutes long and they're reaaally dragging it out and i'm like "ok ok..end already! I get it jeeze!" and then I'll skip to the next song.

PoetGirl 11th June 2010 02:23 PM

I listen to full songs cause I want to be sure what I comment when I comment.

rusuke 11th June 2010 02:52 PM

I listen to the full songs.

lovelism 11th June 2010 02:57 PM

I tend to preview the tracks then decide to whether put them into my iPod or not. But, I'm a little impatient with ballads, I skip them to the chorus to hear if it is nice or not.

Aditmi Krisnasaki ~II~ 11th June 2010 03:17 PM

listen the full albums first, then I would select them again...

channy 13th June 2010 01:04 PM

LOL, looks like everyone listen to music with an iPod. Am I the only one sticking to real sound on a Sony Walkman? ^o^;;

I usually never skip songs, but since Rock'n'Roll Circus, I always skip like every second song. And on Memorial address I use to delete Greatful days, because I cant stand that song.

extepan 13th June 2010 02:33 PM

i listen to the full album then pick the songs i like to put onto my mp3 player

hsienko 13th June 2010 10:03 PM

I'll usually put entire albums on my mp3 player, then try to sit down and listen to the entire album at least once in my lifetime. After that, any other I'll skip through songs etc. etc.

I'll admit I get kinda impatient with extremely long 18-20 track albums. To me 10-15 tracks is the perfect number of songs to have on an album.

aisubeki 24th June 2010 12:26 AM

I tend to just listen for about a minute or so and then move on. Then I listen to the whole song afterwards in the car or on my I-pod. It all depends on my mood though :innocent

TITANIC 26th June 2010 02:42 AM

I really depends on the artist. if the artist i like i.e britney, Adam Lambert, Kuu i will listen to the full song but the artist I dont really like i.e Ayumi, Namie, Hikki I will fast forward to the chorus. if I like it I will put in my iphone if not then skip

ll moments ll 26th June 2010 09:58 AM

i usually download an album, put it on my iPod, & listen away from the computer since it's a distraction from the actual listening process. then i usually uncheck or delete songs on iTunes if they aren't interesting enough to make room for new material.

Other than what you just said about ballads (since some are really beautiful actually), I pretty much do this, If I'm confident it'll be a good album though, then I'll throw the entire thing into my iPod and listen to it there.

chloeM 26th June 2010 08:40 PM

i listen to all of them~

Minttulatte 27th June 2010 10:48 AM

I love listening to the full songs. I listen every single song on a new album and after that may skip some crappy ones. :3

y_nathz 27th June 2010 11:08 AM

I listened to the whole album then skipped some songs for regular listens :yes

gallowsCalibrator 29th June 2010 06:11 AM

I put them all on iPod, then I listen to the full album, and if I don't like some songs after that, I barely ever listen to them again :laugh

ALfromHELLSING 4th July 2010 06:30 PM

When it comes to my favorite artist I always put all songs from their albums on my iPod. As for other, I put only my favorite song.

toniayu 4th July 2010 07:32 PM

listen full song

dartsofpleasure 4th July 2010 08:44 PM

I have a bad habit of putting albums on my ipod without listening to them xD

AyuRox 4th July 2010 10:42 PM

I guess I'd be filed under option 2. I immediately put all the songs on my iPod or use my TV's DVD player to listen to all of them all the way through before I decide which ones I don't like. But all of the CDs I have go on my iPod regardless of wether or not how much I liked the album.

Melodie 3rd November 2010 09:24 PM

I usually listen to the full song, before I decide whether I like it or not.
Unless it's really making my ears bleed, then I'll skip to the next track.

Kacku 3rd November 2010 10:02 PM

I always put the full albums on my mp3-player and listen through it at least once. And I'll certainly play it many more times if it turns out to be good or tricky to form an opinion on.

emi♡ 4th November 2010 05:44 AM

Listen to all the songs, and put them all on my mp3 player...

I listen to lots of new artists, and I get whole albums, and listen to each song.

Sometimes, if I'm like so far in and can tell where it's going, I'll jump to the bridge and see what happens. Sometimes if I have a lot of stuff to listen to...I may skip songs that I dont like about a minute or two in.

I have an 80 gb ipod, and until I filled it up, I was putting everything on it. After that, I was only putting in select playlists.

But I'm reorganizing my music folder and itunes, so I've not even put half of my music back in...so far, everything I've added from my old stuff, and my new stuff, I've put on in entirety...

It'll take me a while to hit 80 gbs again...since I'm mainly just adding new stuff to it.

lovelism 4th November 2010 04:23 PM

I would listen to the title track and then listen to other tracks to see if the songs are catchy. Usually the fast tracks catch my attention, however the slow songs would take awhile.

Yum!Fruit_Salad! 9th November 2010 12:54 AM

I usually put every song into my iTunes then whenever I have time, I pick which artist, album or single, then song by title that appeals to me. I try to listen to every song once though when I reach that point is determined if I feel like to listening to stuff I haven't heard at all.

Polyrhythm 9th November 2010 04:40 AM

I usually skip the boring filler ones.....There are only a few albums I have listened to all the way through in one sitting:

alan - Voice of EARTH
Utada Hikaru - DEEP RIVER
Utada Hikaru - Heart Station
Perfume - GAME
Perfume - ⊿

C+R+E+AYUMI 15th November 2010 11:32 AM

skiiiip!! execpt ayu, i skip all the other albums

Picaflor 7/4 17th November 2010 02:07 AM

If I've already heard the album, then yeah, I'll skip all the songs I don't like. or I won't even have them on my computer. But if I've never heard it before, I'll listen to it through one time without skipping.

NekoF4 2nd December 2010 08:43 PM

if i've not heard anything of them then i'll shove them all on to my playlist and listen to them all

StarSUCKER 3rd December 2010 08:50 AM

I'll only listen to some of a song to test whether or not I like it, initially. I'll fast-forward to the chorus too. Of course, I don't always do this...with new Ayu songs I generally listen from start to finish.
