Thoughts on Crossroad PV / preview
 

I love the cm preview and there's not even one topic where I can write my thoughts so let me just make this one :]

I already love the PV (after 15 secs, it's crazy but those 15 secs are better than the whole MOON PV and many other of her recent PVs). She has great clothes and hair (little too wiggy and AT07 style / momentum style but I like it much much more than her short curly from MOON PV, etc).

The background is quite enigmatic, reminds me of Next Level album cover and Alterna PV ending. The whole gives me an impression of Momentum PV (the match, the hair, the atmosphere).

In the beginning we see picture transition just like in that short Powder Snow CM / PV long time ago. Also you probably see she has this small black tape on her hand which may mean something, but even if not, it gives me a very old style, Ayu-like feeling.

In the scene where the covers are shown be see Ayu from the behind in from of the TV, it gives me such a strange Ring movie feeling, as if Kumi was about to come out of the TV screeming "you won't get no.1 this time" XD

I hope at least some of you support my excitement, it the first time since ages (maybe except Don't Look Back PV) that I cannot wait for something simply after watching such a short trailer (even though there's hardly anything going on in it, but looks promising to me)

thought on SUCH a short part of the PV? lol! Why is there no "though of the font used for the letter "L" on Ayu's 50th single"-thread?.

Oh and for a PS.. Yes it seems nice..ish... kinda boring.. but I guess the full version can be more interesting.. (CAN be... look at moon. that wasn't very interesting =))

i actually think it looks a whole lot like the PVs for Don't Look Back and Moon, which themselves were very similar to each other in some ways.

but i definitely see some of the weird little touches in this PV that will make it great (i hope)!

I think it will be great, it looks dark and weird, hope it doesn´t turn boring...

i did think her face looked kind of "weird" there. i can't quite put my finger on it though.

That's what I'm happy about, those little touches can change the PV.

In my opinion MOON pv didn't have those. You may concider the liquid on her head as one but to me that was all. I have a good feeling, even after just 15 secs :) I'm super optimistic :]

I think the preview looks awsome, i can't wait for the whole pv.

only one thing, the wig, if it had more volume or something her had would have that weird look for me. now with the flat wig her had looks weird.

I like the preview, what blew me off is her hair style and make up. About the scenario it reminded me of MOON and momentum and JEWEL.

me too! and i agree. i loved the black ink/oil part of the moon PV, but it wasn't enough to save the PV. it deserved a weirder PV.

i feel good about this one though!

nothing really happens except for ayu lighting a match, lol. but i do like her outfit, hair, and those TV screens in the background. that's all i can say from just a 15 sec. preview. hopefully it's better in full. :P

She DOES look really weird in that one shot! Hopefully that's just a freak incident, it looks otherwise really interesting.

it reminds me of the Moments PV. i always thought her face looked sooooo weird in the PV.

Can't hardly tell from 2 cadres of 15seconds cm, which pv includes maybe halth of whole video.

But her face looks weird, a little bit too much make up, foundation. But her hair are gorgeous. Too bad they are not lighter or darker, im tired of this a little red blonde.

But as someone said, i think it will come to be boring pv like Dlb or Moon but with a little weirdness/creepyness that will make the pv cooler :)

She looks really scary lol I hope it's just in that scene.

Her face is strange but it makes me think of either the expression of a person who lost senses (she smiles but she doesn't look happy) and is now staring at the fire as if it was the last beautiful and warm thing left in the world, ...or the expression of person who is blissful (in happiness, maybe in blissful ignorance of sth), but the dark background does not add a happy feeling to the scene.

Yeah it could be just the acting (or the make up/angel).

Even with the "wierd" face she looks so pretty and I love her meaning PVs (like MOON even if it wasn't much happening).

I'm so excited to watch the full thing after watching preview! :yes It looks very interesting.
There are so many things which are mysterious to me: picture transition, that "thing" on her last finger (cable? connected to...?), why she holds a match, those TV screens behind her, what she's watching on TV in a front of her (it looks like a show from 50s/60s?...). I want to watch full PV so badly as soon as possible to solve those problems TT :laugh

She kinda looks... unflattering in that shot, but I wouldn't exaggerate she doesn't look like her/she looks plastic etc. Totally not. :no :l

Kinda the same as Don't Look Back and exactly the same as MOON. I hope there will be some more scenes :)

i think you can see the same screen in the back as she is watching on the TV, but partially obscurred.

Ayu's lips look really bad here. She needs to lay off the double plumping lip gloss, her lips are fine normal size, lol. Other than that, this PV looks interesting, promising. I can't wait to see it in full. I love her outfit. :)

It looks really awesome so far, but I don't like the way her lips look, and I've never liked that style of hair on her :( But who knows, maybe I'll grow to love it later! (^_^) I wanna know what's up with that flame, though~ :)

Yes, they look too big for Ayu standards. This is probably the biggest I've ever seen her lips, even when she does the duck lips/fish lips posing in magazine shoots her lips don't look like this. It's got to be her RIMMEL plumping lip gloss or something.

Anyway the crossroad PV preview seems interesting. Even if, it reminds me of Don't look back (especially for the beginning). But it's quite hard judging a 15 sec. PV preview D: I'll looking forward the whole PV.

I'm actually getting excited for her PVs again. MOON, DLB and You Were... were steps up from some previous pvs of the last few years. Beautiful, thought out settings and some weirdey elements suit me fine :D

There was so much given away in that PV preview! omg the way she moves that match! It must symbolize so much! And that dark room! omg so gorgeous! So much preview time to judge it fully!

Boring and not that great looking just like the preview of the MOON PV...but then again, they pick the crappiest scenes for the CMs because the rest of the MOON PV turned out pretty good.

Yeah, gotta go with the majority on the face thing. The expression is alright... it looks like she's in some sort of pseudo trance but the bigger-than-usual lips are what made it look off for me. Prefer the short hair but she's been rocking that for a while now it's nice to see her change it up again and just like for MOON/DLB, the dress is gorgeous. :heart

This does look like it's going to be one of those PV's where the focus is mostly on her in one setting but then some cool weird stuff start going on in the last minute and thirty seconds that makes it worthwhile. I'm quite curious as to what is going on with those TV screens, got a feeling those are going to be connected to the weird climax of the PV. So I'd say so far, the PV looks kinda interesting.

Nothing really happened yet in the CM, so I can't judge. The only thing I can say is that it looks interesting and now I can't wait for the full length. I wish she could release the single tomorrow.. but... yeah, need some more patience.

There honestly wasn't even that much to comment on other than herself. Sure, she looks pretty. But that's all this topic will pretty much be about (and that match lol) until the full PV comes out.

What the heck is up with her hair? I hope that's a wig. Was she auditioning for Cleopatra the musical before the recording/shooting or something?

Probably yes, but I have a feeling the full PV will come out in a few days so the discussion will bloom soon.

It's been a while since I've been anticipating something from Ayu, her recent style wasn't really my cup of tea. For you it may be just her being pretty, to me those 15 secs were a promise of something good and full of interesting little details. Let the old lady have some fun :p

Honestly, I don't see anything wrong with her lips in that one shot...it's more her jaw than anything(IMO). It looks more...prominent than usual...

I think her face just looks odd to people because of the way her hair frames her face, haha.

Am I missing something here? Why do people keep questioning this thread's existence? Wasn't it already explained that there wasn't a new Main thread made at the time? I mean, we had pages of discussion about the MOON preview when it was released as part of the main thread, how's this any different? ANYWAY--If anyone didn't notice, the little transition between scenes is a rose, then a pomegranate :D

But it's too short for me to say too much about it. Except, the scenery looks really nice. Her hair is a bit off though haha. But I got over that quickly.

Am I the only one that sees the poker face x momentum similarities? :laugh

i duno whats there to write about 15 secs of the PV. but it does give me a momentum PV *** Marionette PV feeling with the big room + sofa etc.. and yes the matchstick.

That do is ugly. I have always hated the straight-across bang look. I also agree she looks weird. It's like the not-the-cutest version of JEWEL PV look (which was jaw-droppingly GORGEOUS)!

maybe the matchstick has the meaning about the time can not be stopped (life is slowly consumed by what we do) we can not go back, just look ahead...

HOWEVER... she better not just have that one shot like she did in MOON, I really want atleast a few outfit changes and different scenes... Ayu seems to think it's acceptable to do really basic and boring PVs lately.

I don't know, I still found them lacking something.

For example Microphone, basically only had her in 2 different outfits, the huge dress where she is rocking out and then dressed as the woman at the table. Half of that PV was made up of random people which I really found annoying and pointless.

And Sunrise and Sunset, omg, don't even get me started on those. :shakehead

the scene that she sits in the living room with TV showing something..that part is interesting!
I hope it has the epicness like on don't look back..
simple yet mesmerizing!

Yeah, many members tought teh same about Microphone but honestly I prefered it much more than MOON/Sunrise/Sunset/BALLAD/even Don't look back at least I liked the alternative choice of carachters conquiring the scene.
In the others all the attention is focused on her figure and in the end nothing really happens to me...although she's gorgeous and so on i'm a little bit bored.

And i'm still waiting for a summer PV like fairyland and BLUE BIRD that never comes :( me sad

her face didn't look weird at all to me. she looks ****ing gorgeous omfg. i can't get over it. she is so amazing and beautiful. ahhh i can't wait for the full thing! everything looks so interesting.

also maybe she'll light her house on fire and be compared to lady gaga again because she invented fires in music videos.

I'd say it can symbolise something that takes place at the moment (for a short time) and is beautiful but will soon dissappear (like her carrier? her hearing? just a wild thought) :)

As far as I remember Microphone PV was well received but I also found it annoying, maybe if those random people were Japanese I would like it more, same goes for Sexy Little Things, I just don't feel it, and since those strange outfits are not my type I wasn't excited a bit.

It's strange that sometimes I don't enjoy PVs which seem to be well prepared (Sexy Little Things, Microphone) and there are lots of PVs that consist just of two locations, one or two outfits and still are outstanding (Rainbow, Is this love).

As for her recent PVs:
I like Ayu's 'acting' in MOON PV, I like how she looks, I get the message and I still find it boring.
I like Ayu's look in Sunset but I don't feel it.
I love Shuya in BALLAD PV, I like Ayu's look, I love the story and still when someone asks me about it I think it would be better without the fairy-pink-Ayu, I'd prefer more hospital scenese instead.
Don't Look Back was absolutely awesome. I'd add even more creepiness, but that's just me. MOON seems to be following the same idea but it doesn't work. As for crossroad PV, I have a feeling that even if it occurs to be just sitting PV it will be more like Don't Look Back / Is this LOVE? than MOON. Got no idea where my optimism comes from :D

Yeah I agree with SKYia and emiko, Ayu's had PV's before where it was one setting and her in one outfit that turned out to be awesome and engaging so I hope crossroad will turn out like that... and really, I hope the L PV's don't follow the same pattern (doubt it, but who knows) I like colors, costumes changes and different settings and active concepts in my PV's lol.

She loves to step on fruits like in Free and Easy (poor grapes splashed to pulp) and she loves to blow up fruits like in is this LOVE?. Fruits are always active background in her videos :D

Don't know how about you but in my country there's a very famour fairytale called The Little Match Girl by Hans Christian Andersen. I'm not implying that there's a relation but it was actually my first thought :)

SKYia: well Hans Christian Andersen is well known I would say as we have become quite familiar with his popular tales in the US. Sort of like the brothers Grimm. Anyhow I don't remember the little Match Girl but now I must read it haha

Saw the short version! She looks hot, I have no complaints xD;

I LOVE IT, even though her face is a bit weird but I can live with that.

hands down, it's absolutely amazing!

I love every little detail so far, she looks gorgeous in the tv, I like the idea of singing ayu in tv and the staring / spiritually absent ayu staring at the match, love the camera angles, love her dress and how she moves, love the black string on her hand.

Now I just wish it has at least some freaky / creepy / unexpected moment at the end :)

I'm sure there will be. MOON looked really boring in the preview (to me at least) and then all the awesome scenes were in the end so I have high hopes!

I also like it so far, Ayu looks so pretty and I love how she is watching herself in TV. And also I totally love the song, already more than MOON
