forgiveness (ver. 2)
This thread really amazed me. I didn't know there was a different version of the forgiveness pv. So, I made a video comparison on youtube of them. (god i hope this video doesn't get taken down) Feel free to watch and comment. Really cool. Does anyone happen to know of any other videos that alter from the tv and dvd versions?

Blocked by avex :/
|
^it is in your country. :/ damn It is still available here in america though. I wonder if there is a way to get around that.
|
Sorry, but isn't available ToT
Maybe you can try VIMEO |
That's just unfair o.o
Damn you illogical copyright laws >: ( |
it's gone, everyone knows avex trolls youtube like crazy. >.<
|
I still prefer the original TV version over DVD version. I really have no idea why they changed the CG of the egg scene.
|
omg Avex is so annoying lol.
|
Avex even have video recognizing software to identify if anyone uploads one of their pvs...they're horrible.
|
oh, nevermind, I already downloaded that version :laugh It looks very interesting! |
I think there're two differences between the "original" tv version and the later Ma version.
1 --> In Ma version, after ayu sang the 2nd chorus, as she was sitting on the flower thingie, it automatically transformed into an egg. In the original version, the flower petals covered ayu and eventually became the egg. 2 --> in the prison ayu scene (or kidnapped? :P), after the egg fell on the flower petals, the top part of the egg shell was gone immediately in Ma version. In the original version, the top of the egg shell opened (like... a hexagon space door? :P). If anything is incorrect, forgive me. The last time I saw the original pv was back in the end of 2003 (once I got the dvd, I deleted the original version). Also, there's one extra thing that makes me care about the original version more. Back in the old days the ripping technique wasn't as good as nowadays, and of course there's no "HD" recording back in the old days. So the tv version that I got (80 Mb avi?) was kinda blurry. It somehow enhanced the fairy tale feeling of the pv. When I got Ma, I watched the pv on tv, and it's too crispy clear that the whole fairy tale looked so unrealistic. The contrast between ayu and the CG graphics was quite big. I wish they blurry/soften the scenes a bit. |
damn it I missed it!!! *sigh*
|
I wonder why they changed it...let's all ask Ayu on twitter, haha
It is strange to see the differences. Maybe they thought the idea of Ayu in an egg was a bad one? I don't know. That is weird. |
"This video contains content from Avex Entertainment, Inc,. who has blocked it on copyright grounds."
I can't see the video either... What about if you upload it to Dailymotion or Vimeo, please? |
^I'm uploading it to vimeo as we speak. Actually I uploaded it 13 hours ago but it's telling me I have to "wait in line for my video to convert". I'll update when it's done.

I compared the two a while back and also noticed that the coloring of the palace was different. I forgot which was which, but one version was more gold and the other more blue.
EDIT: my original post... Quote:

come one come all! I uploaded it to vimeo (although it took forever >>; ) check the original post for the link.

LOL I remember watching the TV version with friends and brothers and gross/sexual jokes popping up during the closing of the egg, so I guess that must be one of the reasons it got edited :P
I'd die and never know about this difference, though lol Thanks for making the comparison. Makes me wonder which other ayu PVs must have gotten edited on their DVD versions, other than th well known extra part of Endless sorrow. |
Actually, I don't know much about the differences with endless sorrow. Can someone refresh me?

I didn't know about these differences :thud In some points, there are slightly different angles and coloring. Really interesting comparison :yes |
What a pity.. I also can't see the 2-in-1-Video. So.. I have no idea what are the different is. But.. it seems, it is only a little bit different.
|
Cool. I didn't know about this.
Anyho, I don't know but somehow I like the white/blue castle more (cuz it's prettier). But the yellow/brown gives out a more warm feeling (like the song itself). So I dunno in the end. I liked that the flower covered her into an egg like the tv version. But I liked more how the egg started to glow in the MS version. Thx for the video anyway, fun way to watch it on! |
Ok... I found it.
So... if someone will see the different... watch the following two Versions.. than you will see it. http://video.mail.ru/mail/pobeditel1971/196/7884.html (TV-Version) http://www.myvideo.de/watch/2765762/...ki_Forgiveness (DVD-Version) I prefer the TV-Version. It looks nicer! |
I can NOT understand why they made the egg-transition a zoom in & fade on the DVD version, and that difference I DID notice before, actually.
As MAJOR a difference as it was though, I didn't notice the palace changing from silver to gold until today! I feel like a dummyhead. XD I understand this change though... the PV looks more finished with the gold color, the silver kinda made the palace look like uncolored models that weren't done yet. Also the gold matches the interior scenes better. (They've also changed the moon & water colors to match the scheme, though they're less obvious.) Also, the first time we see floaty ayu flying around, during the last choruses, she's more zoomed in on the DVD version, and slightly vignetted. Interesting difference, one I can kinda understand. But yeah, don't understand the egg transition change at all. |
^ It's simply that evil "egg", coming to troll us forever :P
I think the landscape looked more realistic being silver on the TV version lol but I like the scene where Ayu is floating and is more zoomed in on the DVD version. Thanks for uploading it, it's interesting to see the changes made...perhaps one day we'll know the reason but it's unlikely until Ayu retires or someone does a proper bio on her.... I bet she's had lots of ideas for PVs that were rejected :P |
I think the blue-ish coloring of the castle in the TV-version looked more realistic too, or at least fit better in the night blue light. The brown sort of sticks out, like it's not affected by the light.
That egg bothers me too. Unless she answers it herself, I guess it's gonna be speculation forever. I thought the animation of the egg opening and closing maybe looked a little too technical, like a door opening in a future space ship or whatever, and it wasn't what she was trying to say. Regardless, I wish it had stayed. |
I wish they just had both versions on the dvd. :/
|
I think they edited the MA version and cut all that stuff is because the CG just looks so bad and cheesy.
|
I believe the egg doesn't look at all magical if it opens the way it did...
Fade makes it look surreal, I don't know. About the blue coloring, it looks new and not ancient... |
TV version is better
