Management company is NOT your distributor. If they're still releasing her music through Warner Music or any other large company, she'll still be a major artist. Management does NOT influence this. |

the same thing applies to other artistes who have separate management & record labels like EXILE , Namie . Only their material's released via avex but their management teams are different with EXILE having their own one & Namie is managed by Vision Factory |

The fact that ayaka said in that letter that she would be managing her own music under that company her and Hiro are starting makes me excited because it makes it sound like there's a comeback around the corner. Still I wouldn't mind if she rested another year, she deserves it. I've been listening to her since '07 and although that's a relatively short period of time (not really in the Jpop world I guess) her music has been timeless for me and also I kind of want all the hype of her break to be, you know, worth it. |

Ayaka has had some of her songs certified, like, over a year late. Minna Sora no Shita is Platinum in Chaku Uta Full and Gold in PC downloads, Yume wo Mikata ni is Gold in both. WINDING ROAD is Double Platinum in Chaku Uta Full

^ doubt so, she took a hiatus because she didn't want to loose her ability to sing (because she could have underwent surgery but she choose not to coz it could affect her vocal chords and just went on a leave for serious treatment instead)

UPDATE: Hearing that Kuu's album will be releasing one week earlier than their first planned date of February 1st (instead January 25th), mainly because they were not aware at first that Ayaka was releasing this album on that day...
(by the way, I pre-ordered mine (limited edition, obviously) through HMV last Sunday - first time I've ever ordered a CD out of Japan!) EDIT: The change has been OFFICIALY CONFIRMED. Quote:

I doubt the dates were changed just because both artists were to release on the same day. In this case, at least.
Koda Kumi's releases have never been much for moving dates around for chart placements a la Ayu and other Avex artists (I remember BoA's Love Letter was moved because Ayu was releasing t2m the same day), and ayaka could care less, all the more now being an indie artist. |
when it comes to hitting number 1, usually I see idols/divas/such moving their dates rather than rock bands or artists like ayaka. Or between avex or Johnny's (I was surprised to see KAT-TUN and TVXQ facing off, but TVXQ lost). But oh well, doesn't matter who makes the most sales to me. Just looking forward to her album and see what she has in store for us. :heart

Hearing that Koda Kumi (on the same day that she announces that she is pregnant!) just changed the release date of "JAPONESQUE" by a week forward to January 25th; now Ayaka fans are rest assured a lot. (Hopefully this stays that way, with no Johnny's artists impeding Ayaka's comeback...)

On December 18th, ayaka celebrated her 24th birthday by launching an official fan club! Unfortunately, the fan club is limited to only fans living in Japan. Members of the fan club will have access to ayaka’s blog, original novelties, ticket information, fan club events, and much more. The entrance fee is 1,000 yen, and the annual fee is 4,000 yen. Those who join the fan club before December 23rd will receive an invitation to a premium recording event.
