Something new, help!!

Hi guys!!
Recently iīm gettinībored of hearing all the same artists all the time, i need something new!!
I like almost everything: Ayu-style, electro-pop (not very electro xD), R&b, Rock, Guitar based pop, piano ballads, visual kei, different sounds (like Utada)
I wanna find some interesting artists (i preffer the artist not to be very famous), If someone knows something, please tell me!!Thanks!!

Polyrhythm 11th October 2010 06:28 PM

Dream? They are different and definitely not that famous o_o

Other suggestions include Kanon Wakeshima, Shoko Nakagawa, Love, Perfume, and ICONIQ

Mirrorcle Monster 11th October 2010 06:40 PM

Thanks!!, but i preffer solo artists or groups if we are talking about rock. I have already tried the rest, and i love Shoko, ICONIQ and Perfume.

emi♡ 11th October 2010 07:02 PM

hmm....

I think mini might be good for you...can be kind of dancy though.

Would def look into eiko shimamiya ;) lol (like "O" or later for starters I think)

I also recommend...emi hinouchi's "ME..." for r&B/pop ...and if you're into house/retro stuff...SAWA's "Welcome to Sa World" , MAI (Ruppina), and Lena Fujii.

lol I'm so biased~

If you want some experimental stuff, try out audio safari and ten to sen :)

I was having a nice afternoon until I looked up this song. :P

I don't think I've ever bawled so hard from hearing a song for the first time like that... The lyrics are so beautiful, especially the part about the photographs. :weep I tried to put it into English but I can't right now without it sounding awkward; maybe when I'm more composed. I must look up more of Kokia's music.

'single mother' is just so beautiful and it made me thing of my mom and everything she's done for me. For anyone who wants to hear it:

Definitely look up more of KOKIA's music. More of her songs have made me cry in both happiness and sadness but they are all beautiful.

dartsofpleasure 11th October 2010 09:09 PM

I recommend Salyu, she's pop-y and ethereal and awesome!

Tower (fan-made video)

also, Yuuko Ando has a lovely voice and beautiful melodies in her music.

Unabara no Tsuki

ストロボ・EdGE 11th October 2010 09:11 PM

YES, Salyu. Listen to her, she's so amazing and talented and underrated. If you liked lela you might enjoy her too but Salyu has happy songs too.

yet i don't EVER see anything on AHS about her. no downloads, no mentions, no nothing.

but actually, my opinion on that is that most AHS members aren't actually that open to new music. if you ever upload music from an artist people don't know, you will notice no one ever tries it out. :shrug

anyway, regarding akino arai...i LOVE monday, tuesday. its such a beautiful song.

emi♡ 12th October 2010 02:06 AM

^nope. They aren't. AHS is a place for mainstream Jpop...and that's really it.

Makes me sad sometimes...but used to it I guess. Although I can't get over people not listening to eiko shimamiya lol

but meh...I get most of my music from somewhere else, and I assume other people do the same...it's hard to find out about people though, when you don't know where to start...thats part of the reason why I created the "New Artists you're trying out" thread...

Anyway, I think my favorite song by akino is Kimi e Mukau Hikari, and kakusei toshi...apparently these are anime themes...who knew lol Her voice is beautiful and the music is so ethereal :heart

I looove Kanaete, Tsuki no Hiru, Tsuki no Ie, and Voices! :heart The three songs I listed are very nostalgic to me! (^_^) But you can't help what people do, emiko. :(

KarenPang 12th October 2010 04:50 AM

1) Hilchryme

they're an awesome duo which deals with hip hop/rap & they have 2 members , vocalist/rapper TOC & DJ KATSU .

Not a lot of people on AHS knows about them but if you do , then count yourself lucky as their material's really fantastic

They've been around for close to 6 years but only went major with their releases some 2 years ago . Their breakthrough hit's their 2nd single Shukashutou

TOC writes all the lyrics in the group while KATSU composed everything

2) Matsushita Yuya

Way before his breakthrough hit Trust Me , I already fancy this dude (even though he's the same age as my younger sister ;___; )

His mentor/producer is Jin Nakamura who's responsible for composing other R&B songs for NEWS's leader Yamashita Tomohisa's Loveless & EXILE's Futatsu ...

3) Kanon Wakeshima

I never met anyone else that's so unique , be it musically or apperance wise

if you like dark classic pop with plenty of bite , then Kanon might be up your ally

4) Acid Black Cherry

yasu-san might look X_X in pics & PVs but I actually somewhat enjoy his solo material

some of ABC's PVs are quite comic relief like 20th Century Boys & SPELL MAGIC but it's still good catchy rock at its best

5) Hidemi Uematsu

I don't know what happened to this under-rated lady ;__; but those singles that she has released so far are awesome

6) OLIVIA

She's releasing her GREATEST HITS album tomorrow so perfect timing to check her out xD

Her NANA anime inspired songs a little pain & Wish are some great songs to listen but I was told her older works were equally great too

===

wow this's shocking , I didn't recommend my kids BREAKERZ & let alone NEVER LAND & DAIGO STARDUST :laugh

Hopefully those recommendations do you some benefit/help :)

nmskalmn 12th October 2010 04:54 AM

How about Miliyah Kato?

milky_way 12th October 2010 06:09 AM

Kalafina - I'm putting Lacrmosa here since it's one of the few I can find on youtube that's not a cover. Their ballads are amazing and very ethereal sounding, and their more upbeat/electro songs are awesome too. Red Moon is an amazing album, and you should definitely try it out :yes

Bonnie Pink - I will always love this song :heart
