May I Have Some Recommendations?
Hey, hey people! I've realized the only J-Pop female solo singers I listen to a lot these days are Ayu, Kuu, Namie & Kana Nishino... that's all. Singers like Ai Otsuka, Yuna Ito have bored me immensely.
So, I'm on a journey in search of amazing J-Pop female solo singers. I've compiled a list to download their discography but i dunno if I should... - Stephanie - BENI - Miiyah Kato - Jasmine Are these people good? Also does anyone else have recommendations? Thank you! :) |
JASMINE is so amazing:yes I would definetly try her out!!!
She's sooo good!!! I also like Miliyah Kato, her Ring album made me really like her:D |
okay I'll download Ring & Jasmine's GOLD!
oh i forgot to mention I religiously listen to alan too :yes |
YUI
Shoko Nakagawa Angela Aki BoA? If you don't already like her |
^ I don't.. exactly like BoA :laugh
YUI i've heard before... not my type of music :laugh I'll try the other 2 though, thank you! |
Honestly? You want my opinion? :laugh I'd go wiith... B'z and Koshi Inaba's solo stuff (can you tell I'm a huuuge B'z fan?)! :D But that's just my biased opinion! ^^;; *ahem* But seriously... Try Hitomi Shimatani (at most)! ^_^
|
EMI HINOUCHI!!!!! seriously, she has an amaaaazing voice and catchy songs :luv2
some of her stuff ok there is like nothing else on YT :gnash you should just download her album Me :yes its full of awesome also sifow! her second album, Love Spell is perfection :luv2 :luv2 and maki goto too avex stuff HP! stuff: |
I forgot to add ICONIQ o_o
|
Singers from your list are definitely worthy listening! :) Jasmine especially. I'd recommend you to check out Rina Aiuchi and Mai Kuraki... But I don't know if you like this kind of j-pop :laugh I think you would like at least some songs from them though. ^^' What I'd recommend from them: Spoiler:
and others: - Chihiro Onitsuka - BONNIE PINK - Crystal Kay - ayaka - melody. - Ami Suzuki - Mika Nakashima - OLIVIA |
I haven't been listening to a lot of Japanese music lately, but YUI is awesome :)
|
^I agree <3
|
OH AND THESE!!!!!!
fukuhara miho I SERIOUSLY HATE YT THEY DELETE ALLLL JPOP STUFF :gnash i wanted to post himawari but its not there :weep you should really download it :yes actually..just download her first album :P im not sure about her other stuff cuz i kinda forgot about her after awhile .__________. tommy heavenly6 (and february, but heavenly is so much cooler) also olivia! actually this is the only song i know from her but its amazing :laugh |
Mmmm I would recomend Ikimonogakari (a group, but with a female vocalist. i recomend Futari, YELL, Blue Bird and Akaneiro no Yakusoku), Aya Kamiki (The full Are you happy now? album is AMAZING, one of the best ever),Mika Nakashima (Glamurous Sky, CANDY GIRL, Ichiban Kirei na Watashi wo)
|
Oh yes Jun xiang !!! < So excited XD
Both BENI and Miliyah are awesome! Jasmine is really good too i don't hear to Stephanie :no I recommend to hear BENI's new material it's way better than her avex era and miliyah is so awesome i think you'll be in love with her especially with her songs Like aitai and bye bye so i recommend to hear Ring and Heaven and some of tracks in her best which it's really good!! I hope it'll be helpful for ya |

Definitely ICONIQ. She's great!
The only other one I'd mention is Nana Mizuki, but I'm way biased, and I know her music isn't everyone's cup of tea. But she does have a great voice! |
lol I don't really like BoA either...but I do like her upbeat heavier dance stuff...HURRICANE VENUS had some very nice songs for me.
I would pretty much recommend those that have already been recommended. Although...I think I know your tastes a little bit better than some...you probably should stay away from any artists possibly connected with YUI lol ICONIQ, Emi Hinouchi, JASMINE...they have some gems. ICONIQ more dancy ones, JASMINE and emi are super R&B, emi mixes in pop though a little. If you like R&B ballads, check out Miliyah Kato, Thelma Aoyama, and hiromi. Maybe YU-A. For more pure hip hop, you might like yu yamada. miray is good for like...bubblegum hip pop lol mini is good for dance music. She's a newcomer. Been very impressed by her music for a debut. Lots of hype over JUJU lately as well~ Check out SAWA too for electro/house/pop~ Because I'm trying to spread her around ;) |
I forgot Utada Hikaru...i would give a listen to HEART STATION and ULTRA BLUE
|
I highly suggest ICONIQ, KOKIA, and Maki Goto.
|
other than what peeps have mentioned
- Kanon Wakeshima - Anna Tsuchiya - Hidemi Uematsu - GIRL NEXT DOOR (ok they're a group but it's only CHISA that sings xD) |
^ah hidemi~ Where is that girl?

that's a lot of recommendations from everyone~ I'm gonna try looking around for all of them and see who's got my attention :yes I'm listening to Jasmine's GOLD right now & it's pretty solid; I also got Miliyah Kato's whole discography in my iTunes now waiting for me to listen to everything xDD Thank you all so much! <3 |
I totally forgot to recommend Kuroki Meisa >_<
I 1st knew her as an actress cos of One Pound Gospel & it became a spillover effect after she started her singing career hellcat was 1 of the most surprising debut mini albums I came across when it was released 2 years ago & I'm waiting for her to release her 1st full length debut album next year in Jan *__* |
KOKIA
alan Akiko Shikata (people find her music weird..but still..) Chihiro Onitsuka |
Yes I agree with you Karen Kuroki Meisa She's so great omg I Can't wait for her next album <3
lol you seem to be confused with big numbers of great artists |
Its good ur listening to JASMINE. I adore her. And it caught me by surprise cuz I haven't liked an r&b artists like that in a long time.
But I adore her. Already one of my top 5 fav jpop artists Anyway I don't think ud like most of my fav jpop artists so ill skip them. But a few mentioned Hitomi Shimatani. I love her. But not all her stuff. But her great songs really are great but some are from a while ago I really like Perseus, Voila, Angelus....those are pretty well known I think...but there's many others. |
Chara/YEN TOWN BAND

^B'z is really, really good! :heart
|
LOL Heather , Jun Xiang leans more towards female artistes & not male artistes so much & that goes for JRock too sadly ;__;
but yeah B'z is good . I love it when my fandoms collide in line with BREAKERZ's SHINPEI being in their fanclub & being their #1 fanboy :lmfao |
^So do I and I love B'z! :laugh (Though, I don't know, he loves Hata Motohiro! :lmfao)
|
Female artist?
