I love her calendar this year. I love the idea of magazine covers. Kuu looks gorgeus on every pic imo. I simply love every detail of it. :heart By the way, does anyone know where I can get UNIVERSE Tour in mp3? I really want to listen to this through too because the tour is amazeness. :) |

~~ According to an interview (here), Kumi actually started working on her cover album since 2~3 years ago. There were also songs she tried to cover, but gave up on when she felt that she couldn't make the arrangement better than the original. And apparently a lot of kids would cry during her previous tours because of the 'scary' clips (XD). So she wanted to try a different approach for her UNIVERSE tour. When she went to a show with clowns she noticed how the audience would laugh because of them, so she was inspired to use more humor in UNIVERSE's tour. |

but honestly, there are lots of people who only like certain aspects of koda...and if he isn't say, a ballad or pop koda fan...I wouldn't think he had any use for the cover album either :/ but I still think everyone should give it a listen. I think it shows off a lot of what she's capable of. |

UNIVERSE is my favourite Kuu album, it's awesome! The cover album is really good as well, but I guess it only appeal to people who like older J-Pop and classics in general. |

Kuu did a really good job, all the songs have her own touch, I agree, and the vocals are awesome as well (especially misono's song, I get goosebumps every time I listen to it). But they are just covers of older songs and that's probably enough for some people to be uninterested. |

Koda's personal ballads have a certain sound, and the ones on the album are different. I didn't like any of the originals either, I didn't hear them until after I heard the album though, which I loved. I just...cant take older jpop pop...it's horrible. |

Well she put two-three years of work into making the cover album, of course it's perfect :heart but she makes albums perfectly in such a short period of time, imo. I'm glad we aren't getting an album too soon though because I'm still loving universe and now eternity, a new album seems too soon.

Even though I prefer her studio albums, I do LOVE the cover album. And yes, I prefer all of these versions over the originals. You have music that ages well, and music that doesn't. Most of the originals haven't aged well, and Kuu succesfully adapted them for a more modern age ^^. IMO.
My favorites are Tattoo, Love is Over, Megami no Hito, Be my Baby and Chiisana Koi no Uta < 3 |
