Most emotional Ayu songs
I was just listening to BALLAD and I was thinking how I always get so swept up in the raw emotion of that song - how I can really feel her longing, her desperation. I feel like if I were to ever sing that song for anything, I couldn't get through it without crying. How she keeps repeating, "I beg you, please don't leave, stay by my side", etc... it's just heartbreaking...
Which specific Ayu songs can you just feel the powerful emotion come through like this, if any? |
HEAVEN ,who... and end roll ! actually i always fell a bit touching whenever i hear her ballads ! maybe BALLAD's a exception ^^!i just listened to it 5 times and never listen to it again ^^!

I'm surprised no one else mentioned BALLAD. It just sticks out to me so much, especially the PV. Of course there are other ones that I feel this way about, like JEWEL, HEAVEN, and Moments.
BALLAD's definitely on top for me though :3 |

My list is about the same as you, isn't it like songs where Ayu emphasize some of her singing, like pushing more on some verse? I think it's either that or songs with emotional lyrics |

I agree with you, BALLAD is one of her most beautiful songs. I also love Together When..., and POWDER SNOW, which is so wonderful yet heartbreaking at the same time that it makes me tear up when I listen to it.

I also love the POWDER SNOW Acoustic piano version even more than the normal version. With just the piano doing soft arpeggios behind her, it really leaves room for the emotion of the song to come through. :]

For me...
untitled ~for her~ (just so many things about this song get me... the live performance where she's trying her best not to cry, the fact that the lyrics were written for a dear friend... it also reminds me of my dead cat Prince which is lame but it really does. it also reminds me of my best friend who didn't die but she did drift away and become a mental wreck and i couldn't help her.) HANABI ~episode II~ (just recently this one hit me. it's so so sad. almost started crying when i was helping my Dad make dinner!) M (the way it's sung at the end is just so :thud.) Endless sorrow (one of my faves by her, not overrated at all. the lyrics are gorgeous and the vocals are so emotional. the music video is amazing to. :yes) Voyage (whoa there, this one is just really epic and emotional sounding to me.) Born To Be… (this is my favorite vocal performance of Ayu ever. this songs power and determination blows me away. i like to call it the theme of humanity! and the live performance with the rose dress was :love.) |

all ayu emotional songs are best when performed live, the emotion u see in ayu just reaches out and touches u. the acoustic versions are also awesome too.

Hmm. The fairyland pv made me tear up once. That was a weird day. And an orchestra version of YOU got me at a bad time. Heaven and Ballad are pretty epic and Voyage and Who and Carols I really like. And sort of Teddy Bear. I'll stop now

Oh and Replace on the My Story tour dvd made me tear up too. Of course the Girls & Boys performance made me want to leap into the tv. Looove that concert. Had to pick my jaw up from the ground when it was done

I either cry or almost cry every time I hear these songs
-Curtain Call (it's the 'come togetherness' of the chorus) -Born To Be... (it's so positive and full of hope) -JEWEL (everything about it from the lyrics, melody, PV it's terribly beautiful) -Over (so sad... especially the end when the music almost stops, it gives you the feeling like nothing's left) -HANABI ~episode II~ (this song is almost perfect, the chorus, lyrics, it's soooo sad and powerful one of my top 10 faves) -forgiveness (sooooo beautiful) -Daybreak (H/\L's Mix) (one of my top 10 faves, most people hated the PV but I LOVED the beauty and simplicity of it, the lyrics are super powerful and touching, the melody of the song is so magical and you're left with a feeling of sadness and hope all at once) -RAINBOW (gorgeous, touching, the PV KILLS me every time when she wipes away her twin's tears) -M (the lyrics are beautiful, an Ayu all-time classic, there is so much hope in this song) -HEAVEN (this song is so sad, the lyrics and vocals are super powerful and the PV is simplistic yet beautiful) Other non-sad emotionally powerful songs -Love Song (the two high note peaks uplift the whole song the vocals are so wonderful in range, the whole song packs a punch) -Don't Look back (the melody of the song is so one-dimensional but that's what makes it emotionally powerful, it's kinda "dead-sounding" just like how a woman feels when a relationship is over) -Microphone (the music is so strong this song is like POW! IN YOUR FACE you can't ignore me) -Marionette (like Don't Look back this song is very "dead" it's so stoic and unenthusiastic that you can feel the emotion pulling you down into the depression) -decision (the vocals are incredible and very powerful, you feel the pain she must have been feeling in her personal life at the time) -1 LOVE (the vocals are sexy and sound desperate and sad) -Real me (A very "girl power" song that shows Ayu's courage and strength to constantly move forward no matter what) -Free & Easy (when it gets to the main verse you feel like you're the character she portrays, desperate to escape and trapped) -ourselves (the ending vocals are strong and emotional, it makes me wanna scream too like she does in the PV) -NEVER EVER (the vocals lift you up high into the sky and you feel on top of the world) -Duty (the low vocals at the beginning of the main verse and the instruments give you a deep feeling of "duty" like Ayu's in an army and she must be tough and suck it up) -rainy day (this song is so peaceful and pleasant to listen to, it's emotional in the way that it calms you, it's like listening to a mother's bed time melody) -is this LOVE? (the vocals are super powerful especially the layered vocals at the beginning and end she sounds like she poured her heart and soul into this song) -Bold & Delicious (You can't help but feel happy and wanna jump around and dance to this song it's so uplifting and full of happiness) |
