Dream ON is not what I was expecting at all... She sounds pretty bad in it. The English in the chorus should of been avoided all together.

Anyway... The English part in the lyrics bugs me, it's way too reminiscent of Heartplace. Another thing... the high note at 2:49 is poorly executed. But I'm not disappointed, as I didn't expect anything mindblowing from a collaboration. It's a song that I'll listen to for a while, but then forget about it, because it's just nothing special. Kinda like Real Me. |

I actually love the song. I think people are being so critical because they are treating these as an ayu song when in fact it is not; it is Naoya's song. ayu made the song for him in his style. Despite that it does have some very ayu elements to it like the orchestral intro and the piano pieces throughout. And about all the Heartplace "rip off" comments, ayu has referred to similar elements in her previous lyrics all the time (for example Sparkle's chorus is literally just an extension of Catcher In The Light)
People need to stop being so negative about ayu's recent work all the time. It seems they are never happy with anything she does anymore :( |
^ I like the song, but I still pointed out the chorus' were similar. Stop taking everything to literally. It's refreshing to get a reminder that Ayu can produce things out of her 'comfort zone'.

Wow, I really like "Dream ON!" I wasn't planning on getting the single but now I'm second guessing that decision. I don't think I'd want Ayu to produce solo music like this, but it's nice hearing her branch out on side projects like this. I hope she's open to doing more diverse collaborations in the (distant) future.

yeah, I know this song will be hated by a lot of ayu fans because a lot of her fans don't like this type of music, or they do like this type of music but don't approve of ayu doing it :laugh. but I absolutely love it. I actually didn't think ayu could really pull off this style that well, but it seems like she can. talk about versatility. is there anything she can't do? geez. :o

Her singing style is similiar to Rule. And Nayoa sounds great too ~__^ Wanna see the PV~ There is this little R'n'b loving girl in me, so I'm not surprised that I like this one~ And I was the one who hoped that Ayu would sing something like r'n'b or rap, so I guess I got what I wanted : P |

I don't like this music style for Ayu, but I know it's for that AAA guy, and it suits him. Pretty decent song, honestly! Very catchy. He has a really good voice, too. Ayu's voice is hit or miss in this song. Some parts it sounds strong/clear, other parts it sounds REALLY strained.

I'm a bit iffy with Dream ON. The composition feels like a 90s boyband song.. but I do like the dual vocals in the song a lot, the chorus is nice.
It just feels very cheesy to me. |

Info is gonna pop in so quick from now on, and then the album is gonna be released... time goes too kick! in a few more weeks the anticipation is going to be over, and so the Love songs era too...
I get how people want time to pass quick so they get the new info and stuff, but what's the joy in wanting time to go faster? ayu is already gonna leave LA and she's going back to her routine. :( I rather be waiting for something than nothing at all, that's why I always prefer the time before and during a release than after it. |
