like others have said, that's much higher than I expected. Hoping she can top the album and singles charts this week. How close is their competition?

The single at #2 sold around 4,000, I don't think that it will pose any threat.

A bit sad thing is that the #1 single will go for Urata and not to her since it's his single. xD

TITANIC 22nd December 2010 12:13 PM

Oh my GOD. That's really high. Ayu really help his sales

Nackar_91 22nd December 2010 02:00 PM

That's very good. Higher than I was expecting actually!

Chibi-Chan 22nd December 2010 02:02 PM

Yay! That's high!

Ayu_Ready 22nd December 2010 02:04 PM

Not bad at all :D

GREENdays 22nd December 2010 03:25 PM

I'm impressed :) Looks pretty guaranteed that it will get the weekly #1 spot.

freedreamer 22nd December 2010 03:33 PM

Collab and R&B/pop apparently! :laugh

Anyway, we know who really drove the single to the top~ So congratulations to them both. :yes

AyUmIXx 22nd December 2010 03:37 PM

woww congrats ayu naoya!
it's pretty good sales!!

Raiu-Ayu 22nd December 2010 04:08 PM

Wow that pretty high lol Sometimes AAA only manage that after a few days lol

AyuGAME 22nd December 2010 04:39 PM

nice first day sales...
i listened to this song a lot today...and i become more and more like it...

Peruseusu 22nd December 2010 04:43 PM

thx ^^ good sales!

TITANIC 23rd December 2010 03:31 AM

now I dont mind to call this single Ayumi Hamasaki Feat Naoya Urata

agashi 23rd December 2010 03:42 AM

o.0 is this debut single of Naoya Urata? well..idk what happen with the chart if ayu not featuring in this single..xD

but congratz for the no 1~

Dangit, you're right! At least her fans will know that she's the reason it sold so well.

Raiu-Ayu 23rd December 2010 04:02 AM

Wow some people here are so arrogant.

To assume the only reason that this single sold well is because of ayu is just plan dumb. Although this is Naoya first solo single he's been part of AAA for five years. Its not as though he's a completely brand new artist. Two friends of mine are studying in Japan have told me that although ayu is part of this single its only lending a little bit of hype; people really don't give a stuff that she's part of the single. But there are plenty of people that support AAA and Naoya. All the sales aren't just because of ayu.

Also I know I posted in my last comment that the sales are higher than most AAA stuff, but AAA have been selling extremely well lately so these sales I think reflect on that too

lividlillies 23rd December 2010 05:32 AM

^Thank-you.

I'm glad this single is doing well. Even though Urata isn't my favourite from AAA, I'm glad he can start his solo-career off nicely. I hope AAA keeps going strong, though. ♥

Haha, I was expecting something like this to happen. Huge pre-order numbers because of Ayu fans pre-ordering it with Love Songs XD

brener 23rd December 2010 01:33 PM

omg, only 8,5k for the second day :XX I thought of something around 15k

aqua_crystal 23rd December 2010 02:09 PM

Getting Ayu to sing the song with him was one of the best ideas he could ever have had. And it helped him steal #1. Good for him! The song's great too.

Yeah, it seems the japanese love this style of music. doesn't hurt it that it has that boyband-feel to the music, which is what seems to sell heaps over there.

That can only be proven or disproved with his next single.

the song is not what i want.. lack of beat and power..

shizukanaotoko 24th December 2010 02:29 AM

I must admit I thought this song was kind of dumb at first but now it's totally grown on me :) Ayu and Naoya did a good job and the sales are reflecting that~

If Ayu wasn't the producer probably the single wouldn't have all the promotion, that good PV and everything

Why? This isn't an Ayu single, it can't possibly sell more than 50k.

There were two twin sisters from jpm who said that people could decide if they wanna cheer for Ayu or Naoya on CDTV and the majority of people chose to cheer for Ayu. Naoya's solo album flopped badly as even though AAA's fan base is slowly growing (<3) people generally don't care that much about him. His solo album sales display how much he is in fact (ir)relevant. And this isn't any higher than AAA's stuff, they sell around 40-50k during the first week. So you can bet that this single is only selling because there is Ayu in it and the sales are quite weak nevertheless.

Didz-19 24th December 2010 12:33 PM

HUH? the single was on #3 with sales of 2402 copies. the #1 was taken by the AKB48 with the single "チャンスの順番" of sales 2510 copies~~so close!!!!

Sorry I have to disagree with you. Take a look at Naoya's solo album released just a year ago. It peaked at #71 first week. This was at about the same time AAA released an album that peaked #4 weekly. Doesn't that say enough? It's very obvious Ayu is having a big impact on the sales, as he wouldn't sell near this well without her. I guarantee if he does release another single, it'll sell at most half of this, but probably something like 5-10k total.

Yeah I agree with you and Damita completely. If you compare Ayu's fanbase with Naoya's and even AAA's for that matter, Ayu's fanbase is STILL bigger despite the fact that AAA is gaining popularity fast. If Ayu weren't producing this, the single would probably have a hard time reaching the top 20. Naoya isn't a stranger in the Jpop world but he certainly isn't half as established an artist as Ayu is.

AyumiAi 24th December 2010 03:19 PM

Lol at akb48 getting number one and I agree with everyone Ayu is the reason this single is able to sell so well

I don't like this goblin at all, had Ayu released the song by herself (which she is responsible for the sales and did most of the project on this) I would probably like it.

I had no idea who this UN guy was but now every time I see him he has UN tattooed all over this clothes. Such an egotistical thing for such a nobody to do. :innocent

He's not a "nobody". Sure his solo album flopped, but a lot of first albums do. Nothing from Nothing flopped.

Remember that his album(I think) peaked at #71, this is a single that only is feat. Ayu(other way round might have sold more) and it only got one song and one PV and relatively little promo I think. Considering all that it's quiiiite good IMO.

Nothing, it's just that urata is not popular enough.
With his whole AAA group he sells the same.
On his own he would sell a few thousands in total. :P

brener 27th December 2010 05:00 PM

im happy with its sales and URATA should thank ayu a LOT =D

Bigtop 27th December 2010 05:46 PM

Well, that's quite good, considering that it's not really a major single anyways...

jbrat2219 27th December 2010 07:29 PM

Even though it didn't sell a lot I hope this is a success for Ayu. The single got sales it wouldn't have if her name hadn't been on it.

love in music 27th December 2010 08:31 PM

I love the song, but I hope she'll release more songs like this, with just her solo and less engrish. People say she's only doing this type of song because it's mostly his single, but she DID use her same arrangers/composers for it so it's possible she'll have another one like it. I hope she'll perfect this sound in 2011 on her own.

shineestar 27th December 2010 09:34 PM

Urata and Ayu are talking about producing a ballad together on twitter. I wonder if that would sell even better than this?

^Well, the Japanese DO like their ballads.... But Urata doesn't have the greatest voice. I wonder if it would be tolerable in a ballad.
