Surprisingly fantastic. Of course it doesn't sound like it did back in 2000/2001, but I loved it.

Too bad love song's live wasn't that great though. She did a better job there on Best Artist.

What did everyone else think?

I thought it was pretty horrible. Love Song was great though.

its kind of weird to hear her singing 'M' with her current voice.
i wouldn't say i like but its ok...she tried her best:)

It's my fav M TV-performance by far, I really love the way her voice sounds right now and, even though not nearly perfect vocal-wise(as I said, I like the way it sounds, doesn't mean she used awesome tecnique) it was the only one that ever made me feel the song. Tied with AT07 for her best M performance overall.

oh wow.. compared to that old performance this recent one seems fantastic now.

in that old one just about EVERYTHING is just plain wrong lol Outfit, hair, backing track, vocals...

I thought the performance of M was way better than the performance of Love song. I didn't think Love song sounded that great, but M was pretty amazing! I love that now you can actually hear the "R" in MaRia!

She did okay on M... not as bad as I had expected, but she faltered on and off key a lot. It's understandable, it's an old song for her and she has lost her hearing in one ear.

Man, Love song is just not her best song to perform live, for me. I absolutely hate both performances we've had of it.

I was quite surprised she did quite well, its the best that she can do with her voice now in my opinion :D

Me too. The beginning sounded great, but she struggled with the chorus and by the end of the song, she was pretty much SCREAMING the lyrics.

Love song was okay, but definitely not as great as Best Artist. She seemed offkey as a whole on both songs.

I thought the high-pitched parts of M at the end reminded me of her voice from back in 2000-2001. There was a glimpse of it, that showed that it's the same voice. Kinda a nice surprise. :)

I prefer M's performance to Love song's. I nearly cried after watching it, awesome performance indeed! :)

M was way better than Love song imo. But the fireworks effects during the EEEEEEEEHYYYY were amazing :D (and totally unexpected I jumped out of my chair :roflmao)
I prefer the Best Artist performance though, she was great!
The M performance was awesome, even if she sounded a little bit tired in few parts. Like she has not enough voice to sing.

Lol..why are there comparisons to Love song. I thought she did great honestly. She was in control of her voice (and a lot more recently) so i was very happy. I love her deeper voice now as compared to the higher wan before so it's good

^ i like Love song too at MSSL..but Best artist is better hehe..

anyway, ayu did say in her TA diary, she has a reason of why she chose M for MSSL performance..she knew TA would know about it..

Love song is my least favorite song in the album = =, been listening to it for a couple of times already now, and i still don't like it. the performance was it was definitely better than best artist though. i loved the M performance <333 she did so much better than I thought she would. i actually prefer this one than her old performances of M because of the high voice she had back then~

I prefer her older vibe when she performed the song. Of course I see that some of you like her more mature style for this song, and I think it's just a personal choice, nothing wrong for choosing either. But, my brother and I both agreed that her voice in M was very unstable.

And she was a bit unstable in Love song performance as well. She did better in Best Artist.

she sounded tired that day. Best artist was better. She sang M pretty well but with her current vocal it seems pretty hoarse. but at least she did her best. she is improving :D

It was awesome!

M is made for her higher pitched voice, no doubt about it. But it still works with her more mature style. She knows her limits and she didn't try to reach what she no longer can. I think I just liked the passion more, even if it did sound a bit like screaming towards the end, she connected to the song and the performance and didn't look like she was just going through any MS live. The crowd seemed to love it as well.

I just love this song as well - it hasn't aged at all. 10 years old, made in 2000, and it could pass on love songs.

For me it was the other way around. I thought she sang Love songs almost perfectly..I'd say a bit better than she did at Best Artist. And I thought she did an OK job on M, but definitely was not suited to her current voice imo.

I prefer the current one, it sounds more powerful :)

i kinda liked it but she could have been more 'gentle' with the song...

The beginning part was okay, but the chorus sounds horrible. It sounds more like a screaming than singing.. she should lower the tune :/
I feel bad looking at her struggling with the high-pitch (seriously it breaks my heart)

I think, she sung both song well. I liked it.
Sure, she don't sings like in the past... but I don't would say, it was bad or something like that.
For me.. it was a good performance.

Sure her voice has gotten powerful, but that seems to come from her belting instead of singing.
And don't get me started on her vibrato!
I used to extremely love it very much, in fact, it made me fall in love with Ayu in the first place.
Now, it's OVERLY fast and strained. She can make it sound flowy and divine, but she chooses to make fast, unholy one.

"Love song" in Best Artist is better in my opinion. It's on pitch and nice.
Nonetheless, I was surprised at "M" though, she sounded like she's in her "Secret" era in the beginning; it almost brought tears to my eyes.
But those are gone when she start screaming again in the chorus.

Anyway, it was nice to hear "M" again.

I agree ^ not into her current style as well but the diction and power is there.

I love how she sang M recently (well, compared to MTV Asia Awards). She's offtune in some parts but I love how she merged the old M on her new style.

There's nothing new with the screaming parts. Actually I was expecting that to happen on the whole song but she just screamed on the chorus part.

Yeah, Long Song in Best Artist was better.

ummm...i LOVED it...honestly to me her voice sounded great...i love this voice...its not as screechy as the voice she used to sing M with but still with beautiful passion and emotion. i enjoyed it especially towards the end

I use to think Love song was the better performance but now they both seem like they could have been done better. You can tell M is very hard for her to sing for some reason, especially at the end. I can't get over how stunning she looked though.

it was not as good as she did it in 2001-2004 maybe, but better then I have expected, I was quite pleased with the performance. it was among the first ayusongs for me that I heard along with SURREAL in 2001 and when my ayulove began, so I adore the song and love it very much. audience loves it too, very very much :)
I don't know, I'm a afan of ayu 2001 era, so I always tend to compare eveything to that time. for those who said 2001 performance was bad in terms of everything, I think the performance "now" is much weaker

Yeah, I agree with you. Even though she got this powerful voice, then is stronger than now.

I've been an Ayu fan for a very long time too and I prefer her voice today but I wish she was a little better at controlling it. There are times when she's flawless though (crossroad performances) and there are times where it's just hard for her. And I think she should lay off the oldies that she doesn't sing regularly until she can really nail it because that M performance looked painful xD;

honestly i find Love song's performance a good performance..

I really liked the performance, her voice sounded good! The stage was also very nice, I loved the ending with all the glitter.

I gotta say, her vocals in Love Song are wonderful, but I really wish they had made a heavier rock arrangement for the live, especially when she is wearing that outfit and strutting around like she's rocking out to it lol

And M... I really love her voice during the verses...the chorus was bad...but I still love the performance to death, and the ending was THE BEST omg. with that thing in the back, and the glitter, and she looked soo good.

And it was great lol

i would say M was a bit screechy and went out of control at certain times. but it wasnt that bad.
