I'm confused. Is she married or just registered to be married?

Like is she actually married or did they just file an intent to marry? How does it work in the US?

Either way, so happy for them

AyUmIXx 2nd January 2011 02:59 PM

It's officially married :)
when couple register a wedding, that means they are officially married, just that their wedding party can be chosen to be held whenever they want~

Andali 2nd January 2011 03:03 PM

Oh. Its different here. You gotta register your intent then sign it all once you get the paperwork back

AyUmIXx 2nd January 2011 03:12 PM

^ so u mean that ayu has not married?
coz what ayu said, registered, i guess, she's officially married already~

pUrpLeSn0w 2nd January 2011 03:24 PM

i thought it's official?? >_<

SKYia 2nd January 2011 03:26 PM

She called Manuel her husband so I guess she is.

Nah I'm sure they will have a big wedding/party later. I read that only a couple of friends were there and some staff. Manuel has a family right?

If i was his mom i would definetly want to be there when my son got married :s

Manuel has a family i suppose? If i was his mom i would definetly be at my sons wedding:(

It's confusing

Jennie Mae 2nd January 2011 06:20 PM

In America, if you sign a register, you are married. You HAVE to do it in order to be legally married.
Las Vegas is like the easiest place in the world to do this, especially if you're not American. Two of my English friends got married in Vegas, and very recently my friend married her Belgian boyfriend in Vegas. There are just very lax marriage laws in Nevada so anyone can get married immediately.
So yes, THEY ARE MARRIED.

alternarist 2nd January 2011 06:37 PM

haha what a qns.. does it matter? even if there is a difference between "married" and "registered to be married", the latter will lead to the former eventually. so happy for the both of them!!!!!!!!!!!!

Phoebe: Really?!
Monica: Yeah!
Phoebe: Oh my God! ... Eh! Well…

hearted 3rd January 2011 12:16 AM

^shuya is gay though

and i wouldnt be surprised if gackt is too :P

Mai82Go 3rd January 2011 12:21 AM

^^Your post is really hard to read. Make some full stops between the sentences, ok?

And who cares if he's not japanese? The problem is that it is so rushed: They are still at that phase of being madly in love with each other. But this kind of love only lasts a few months and then the "normal" relationship starts - then you'll find out if the partner is for life. But each to their own. If she wants it that way, so be it. Maybe it'll be for life, maybe not, it's her life and her decision.

JackieRos 3rd January 2011 12:25 AM

we have grammar teachers here too kewl

Wonder how her wedding ceremony is going to be like

Bigtop 3rd January 2011 01:10 AM

But here's the problem: where was it registered? United States, Austria or Japan?

GREENsora 3rd January 2011 01:22 AM

^It was registered in Las Vegas, USA

what the heck is wrong with that guy he should actualy be surrounded with girls I cannot believe that he is gay I was in disbelief when I first herd rumours oh well what the hell the whole world is screwed any way.

mtrl_gal0603 3rd January 2011 02:08 AM

Seriously that Shuya is gay? Shuya is it the one with blonde and black hair?

Andali 3rd January 2011 02:33 AM

Off topic. My question was answered so thread can be closed please :)

ownsarai 3rd January 2011 02:55 AM

LOL "Ayu should marry a Japanese guy because her songs will make more sense."
What? How does that make any sense?
And Shu-ya said himself he isn't gay...though he may just be afraid to admit it. But I seriously doubt that they would ever become a couple.
I am happy for Ayu, and I wish others would be as well.

I think SHuya is really cute I marry him myself :)

ownsarai 3rd January 2011 03:39 AM

^I like Shu-ya, too...but he is part of her staff so I don't think they would ever become more than colleagues/friends.
I'm just happy Ayu has found love in her life and on her terms. She really deserves it.

MeruChan 3rd January 2011 04:12 AM

not to be racist but japanese gilrs tend to marry either really young or quickly. it's like they dont need time to build the love between them and their partners. and japanese are so western influenced and you know how they fancy having american or caucasian partners. I live in Australia, and man japanese girls loveeeee western bfs. i am sorry but i cant feel true love between them. to me, it seems that they are just using each other. they just like to marry in the heat of the moment and divorce when they finally realise it is not working.

honestly, i dont believe this marriage would work. but i hope it does. i hope ayu is making the right decision for herself and i hope she will be truly happy. and that mannie guy better dont do anythign to hurt her!

Picaflor 7/4 3rd January 2011 04:22 AM

she's getting married in vegas? >> I hope it's not drive thru.

Well, there's goes my chance of hoping manuel is gay out the window. I really don't think the fact that they both met each other in "virgin road" was a coincidence either. I bet their wedding was just like that, but without the guns.

ownsarai 3rd January 2011 04:40 AM

^She already got married in Vegas, I think she's on her way back or already back in Japan now.

I saw the guy's picture and the funny thing is he reminds me of someone that I actualy know lol but all in all it does make sence with the last two videos she made I did not like Virgin cause she was the bad girl but I did like the video where she had non Japanese kids singing it was a dream now that dream is becoming a reality! I have been a long time fan of Ayu and one thing I know is I would never marry any one after 4months I do think she rushed into things and it probably could be a danger to her carrer but if she is happy then I am happy to:)

holy **** i'm out of breath after reading that. plop some periods in there plz.

:roflmao

& God I love how some of us are making it sound like Ayu is that 15 year old girl who carves her boyfriend & her initials on a tree and go like, "I love you deep deep, let's get married!!" :rolleyes

seriously... Ayu is a mature woman. She's 32. She knows what she's doing

Thank you. THIS. Leave the poor woman alone and stop passing judgment. She knows herself well and she knows human emotion well. And by the time you get to your thirties, you know the ropes. You have more experience and maturity to use than a younger person in judging whether you can be with someone for life.

Tony G 3rd January 2011 06:14 AM

Wow, a shotgun wedding in Las Vegas is not how I expected Ayumi Hamasaki to get married. But yeah, best of luck to them both.

emi♡ 3rd January 2011 06:18 AM

LOL

If there was any way for Ayu to get married, of course it would be in Vegas :laugh

That's the best lol

Picaflor 7/4 3rd January 2011 06:24 AM

so weird. in the virgin road pv ayu and manuel are getting married and are bad people cause they rob a bank and carry guns with them. Then, a few months later, they get married in real life and people are calling it a "shotgun" wedding. coincidence? I think not!

tinka69 3rd January 2011 07:01 AM

...a wedding in Las Vegas. I can just picture it now. Mannie...Ayumi...and an Elvis Presley impersonator reading from the bible. XD

Bright light city gonna set my soul
Gonna set my soul on fire
Got a whole lot of money that's ready to burn,
So get those stakes up higher
There's a thousand pretty women waitin' out there
And they're all livin' devil may care
And I'm just the devil with love to spare
Viva Las Vegas, Viva Las Vegas

This is how I feel. Plus the fact that they are living apart too...but hopefully eveything will be alright and Ayu will be happy.

hey hey hey It could have been Wayne Newton.

ownsarai 3rd January 2011 11:19 AM

^That would be so freakin' epic!

Chibi-Chan 3rd January 2011 03:28 PM

Already? That was not what I expected...

ayutrancefan 5th January 2011 02:30 AM

I think that who ever disagree's with Ayus decision should back off. Its a free world any one is entitiled to marry whoever they wish. I did say that it would have been poetic if she married a Japanese man and that is true. But, the fact that she chose to marry a man who is not her race means that she really loves him and she wan'ts to prove that love can come no matter how different it may seem, so no matter what race or where they are from if two people love each other then there is nothing stopping them. So I think Ayumi made the right choice. I am her fan, even if this backfires, I still will be an Ayu fan forever nothing ever can change that.
