ikr! i was 16 when i first heard "Murasaki"! unbelievable. i was honestly thinking Jin would release his newer stuff (like "Yellow Gold" or whatever). but i wasn't expecting "Eternal" (which is a ballad, geeez) and "Murasaki". it's quite a nice surprise, imho.
he's just trying to win my heart again. i feel like i can't quit him. STOP IT, I HATE YOU, JIN. LOL. :weep i'm watching this my first time in years, really. |

Akanishi Jin to release “Eternal” in March, his first single under Warner
It has just been announced that singer Akanishi Jin will be releasing a new single called “Eternal” on March 2nd. This will be his first release since he switched his label from J-One Records to Warner Music Japan. In addition to the title song, the single will also include a song called “Murasaki“. Fans of Akanishi should already know this song, since he has been performing it on concerts since 2004, and now he has finally managed to get it out on a CD. There will be four different versions of the single – First Press Limited A, First Press Limited B, Normal, and Limited Live. The Limited A edition will include a DVD that features the music video for “Eternal”, a making-of ,and the shooting for the cover jackets. The Limited B edition will come with a colored booklet. Furthermore, they are all going to have different cover jackets. The Limited Live edition will only be available for those who pre-order the CD at one of the concerts of his ongoing live tour. Those will include a special postcard with a handwritten message from Akanishi. last I remembered , they overpromoted Going ! on MUSIC STATION a great deal by appearing before/after the release date of the single
so I don't see anything harm in getting ULTIMATE WHEELS promoted all out as I really love the A-side I'm just desperately waiting to see the PV preview for this T_T |

"Eternal" is in Japanese. even more surprising, it's a love ballad he wrote for his friend's marriage. there's live rips of it on YouTube! HERE :)
i was thinking he was going to release his English stuff too, but i guess maybe for the album, lol. yeah, when i went to his concert in June, he did not sing any Japanese songs. he sang new songs and some solo stuff we heard like A PAGE, WONDER, & LOVEJUICE. |

KAT-TUN will be touring during the summer in Japan this year & they did mentioned before this happens , a new album will drop 8D
I don't know if they will release another single before that happen but if they're going to follow what they did for NO MORE PAIN ie. 2 singles with 1 album track getting a PV , it wouldn't surprise me 8D |

yeah both CHANGE UR WORLD & ULTIMATE WHEELS are superb . I just hope for their 6th album , they work around in making the solo songs sound a lot more better
because frankly to me , the NO MORE PAIN solos are pretty weak if you stack up against the group songs . I honestly only enjoy Nakamaru's FLIM & Ueda's RABBIT OR WOLF ? while the rest are either OK if not X_X for me |

hahaha FILM is the best song of NO MORE PAIN!!! Though I enjoyed the other solos it is true the group tracks were much better, other than FILM.

ULTIMATE WHEELS - again, KAT-TUN always impresses me with their rock-influenced numbers. they all have their own distinct sound to it and they don't sound alike! and the strings are always a plus. i think this song is more polished than CHANGE UR WORLD, but both songs are pretty great. i think the members sound great and it suits their vocal range. the boys are really impressing me without Akanishi. 夜明けまで - despite it being a pop song, i actually think it works well for the boys. it's not too pop as Going! and there's an interesting bass line to it. i sort of dig it, haha. MAKE-OR-BREAK - i do get RIGHT NOW vibes, but it's not as electro. but i think RIGHT NOW is the better track. it's not really a hard dance number as RIGHT NOW, but i enjoy my dance numbers, hahaha. i think this fits with Arashi or NEWS dance songs more, if you get what i'm saying? i want more dance numbers like GIRLS/RIGHT NOW. PLEASE. TWO - hmmm...i'm not generally a big, big fan of KAT-TUN ballads. LOL. i mean, it's cute, but i just like my badass KAT-TUN, you know. if i want cute stuff, i listen to the other JE bands. and i think they have stronger ballads as well. but i do think it's nice. OVERALL: nice single. not their best. great A-side. they've had better B-sides, though. i think i prefer ULTIMATE WHEELS over CHANGE UR WORLD, but CHANGE UR WORLD's single had stellar B-sides (you guys should've seen the look on my face when i first heard GIRLS. i was in awe. HAHAHA.) |
The PV for ULTIMATE WHEELS is really cool. Nice to watch. The song is great, too. Especially since Koki isn't reduced to rapping, he's singing lines and - there is no rapping at all! I prefer Kokis singing over his rapping so of this is a trend for the songs to come I'm all for it.
I also like the other songs on the single and I don't hear any Going! part II in them. KAT-TUN are going in the right direction as far as I'm concerned. Going! was just a little mistake, I'll just pretend it never existed. |

I frankly can say that I generally like all of the PVs that KAT-TUN has made from Real Face all the way to now
I dislike Bokura no Machi de at 1st for some reason but now I grow to appericate the simplicity of it & that goes for ULTIMATE WHEELS as well funny that I was expecting to see cars & etc for both the covers & the PV but nope :p xD |
Bokura no Machi de's PV was stunningly beautiful. i loooove it.
i swear it's not because i love Tatta Hitotsu no Koi Kame or anything, you know... i think my least fave would be YOU. most fave would be LIPS (obviously). |

Although Ueda looks really cute in the TV lives I just don't like him wearing a hat. I also thought that it didn't fit Akanishi, who was wearing hats all the time back then. So maybe I have a general dislike for the way guys look with hats...:D

Wow, that's a huge drop from Change UR World. Even much lower than GOING!, and this song is infinitely better.
Such a shame. YES, I know many bands would die to have these sales, YES, I know sales aren't everything and it won't make me love them less but I'm still disappointed. I much prefer KAT-TUN over NEWS and Kanjani8 and I liked it when they were still the current no. 2 of Johnny's : / Oh well, as long as their music stays the same as recently, qualitatively ^^ |
^Yes, it's really a disappointing number for such a great single. They seem to be loosing popularity and fast. That's sad. I think they're getting better and their sales are getting lower. :(

Yes, it's not really that surprising, but sad anyway. What would be even more bitter for them is the possibility that Jin will sell more solo. I can see that happening.

Eternal is not released yet but we'll see . The stuff that Akanishi did with LANDS , it sold reasonably even though I don't know if it's fair for me to compare against what he did in LANDS against his solo stuff :x
Honestly , KAT-TUN can sell 1 million if not 10 copies of their stuff for all I care , I still will support them & already with CHANGE UR WORLD & ULTIMATE WHEELS , they prove that they're able to carry on without Akanishi There were uncertainty when that happened but after hearing CHANGE UR WORLD in full , I don't need to worry anymore |

sales is just a minor aspect of things . I still feel that KAT-TUN's music's great which doesn't change anything for me
after all , it's not often I see any other Johnny's groups that bother to spend good $ in getting top notch composers/writers to write their songs & let alone getting their material mastered at fantastic if not expensive mastering studios such as Stephen Marcussen & let alone Tom Coyne NEWS's sales have never been fantastic but they still play out to sold out crowds so let's keep it this way |

even if if their sales are decreasing, it doesn't mean KAT-TUN aren't popular anymore! it's hard to base popularity on sales alone, especially with JE groups. if KAT-TUN can still get crowded tours, concerts, promotional stuff, and etc... then i think they aren't doing too badly? :yes sucks that some fans left when jin left, too, but all you can do is support them! honestly, i haven't really enjoyed their music until last year. i really loved QoP, but after that, i didn't feel the same way. but since last year, especially with NMP, i've come to really love their music more! probably even more than when i first got into their music in 2008, lol.
so if they continue in this direction, then i'm happy! :D i'd hate to think about disbandments, so i'm just trying to stay positive. :P |

i think it's time KAT-TUN branch out and try new things. not musically, since we all know the music's good & dandy, but be idols. i totally think they can still have this cool image, but be marketable too. i've always thought their weakness as a group was marketing themselves as "personalities". they don't have a TV show...i believe Maru is the only one that's on something regularly. i don't get why JE hasn't done anything to widen their fanbase, especially since they spend all this money on their tours and other music endeavors. i mean, Kamenashi could only do so much with his name...
i don't think Jin's sales will be that much higher than KAT-TUN's. of course, there's that whole debut-single-equals-huge-sales thing, but i don't necessarily think he'll be that big in the long run. unless his music reaches a wide base, of course. (...i guess that's why he's releasing Eternal/Murasaki first.) |
