Good on her :) I am glad she is sacrificing her first few concerts. Hopefully this will also means added rehearsal to improve the show.

I don't think it's too late.

I think it's better they push back some of the earlier dates because of all the earthquakes and tsunamis, etc. Japan is still in shock, trying to recover.

MissElin_ 28th March 2011 01:29 PM

It just makes sence that they postpone/cancell the first dates. I'm happy to hear this actually. It's good that they don't have any concerts now that takes massive amounts of electricity when Japan need to save it as much as possible.

Changing the title are they? Hmm, interesting.

thatstacey 28th March 2011 02:23 PM

The delay was expected, but it's nice to see an official confirmation. Thanks for the updated post.

I wonder if the title change has to do with the delay (switch from Love songs to support a new project) or the conservation of resources (can't do the grand hotel theme).

I kind of hope she doesn't do something like this unless she's planning on donating a significant amount of the merchandising proceeds to charity. It kinda squicks me out otherwise.

toniayu 28th March 2011 02:26 PM

a nice tittle would be: Love Songs ~HOPE HOTEL~

Bigtop 28th March 2011 02:42 PM

Whoa... I'm quite surprised at this - I did not even expect they're going to delay for a month. I thought they would be delayed by a week, but instead, it's a month-long delay. And I'm quite surprised they're even cancelling/postponing Osaka!!! Well, obviously Saitama's a no-go, and Nagoya and Shizuoka now even in the red...

Mami-chan 28th March 2011 02:52 PM

Honestly these concerts dont do anything to album sales, if anything, the album promotes the (more successful) tour.

And cancel/postponing the first few tours, pretty cool, although i think she had to since the space was no longer there...

njanjayrp 28th March 2011 03:45 PM

The tour isn't even meant to promote the album, it gives people who bought and liked the album a chance to hear the tracks live and enjoy the visual aspect and atmosphere of the concerts.

My thought exactly. I mean... It's good to push the dates b/c of what has happened, but to change the name? Ummm... naaaah... not really into that. I like the meaning behind HOTEL Love Songs

I don't want to sound heartless, but adding "HOPE" to the name sounds really unoriginal. If she changes the name, change it well. Like... JAPAN Love Songs or something but not "hope" >.<

I don't think it's conservation or whatever. I think Ayu believes it's not the time to have like Hotel Love Songs tour, because people call it Love Hotel Tour, etc, and actually it's just bad feeling right now... I think it needs to be more serious, with a better message than hotel and fun feeling... it's like what she did with I Am... album. She made it more serious and have a message. I'm not saying that Hotel Love Songs tour might not have a good message or something, but it just needs to be more meaningful, because many people in Japan have lost their homes and everything they have, and so... I don't know how to explain in english ahaha, but it's the right decision.

It seems like she is changing everything about the tour, so perhaps Hotel Love Songs didn't fit the tour contents any longer.

ARENA TOUR 2011 ~Love songs for JAPAN~ ok sounds cheesy. but i find it a pity that she spent so much time rehearsing and then she decides to change everything. all effort gone down the drain. :(

i think we can expect a less lavish concert set up this year.

Don't lose your hope yet. She might still use some or use them another time/year. :)

Picaflor 7/4 28th March 2011 08:37 PM

time for a change. time to not sing boys and girls, evolution, and audience for once.

Neko★munication 28th March 2011 09:02 PM

^ It'd be silly to exclude those songs :no They're fan favourites and more importantly, concert-goer favourites. And singing uplifting songs like those that really unite the crowd would be really great at such a time in Japan.

But it's really interesting that she's changing things up so significantly. Can't wait to see what'll happen, but I think we're all going to be curious about what the (now-mythical) HOTEL Love songs tour would have been like :P

Bigtop 28th March 2011 10:47 PM

So first, I knew it would be postponed, but then I did not even knew that the Osaka, Nagoya and Shizuoka concerts in April are about to be postponed also. Now I'm hearing that the concert stage could be redesigned? Now what in the world is that? Of course we here at AHS are not part of the stage staff, so this means that even I'm not seeing the stage that would have been used had the earthquake and tsunami did not happen...

:yes You are right and i agree with 100% Do not add HOPE or anything.. its jsut.. no.. thats not the theme of the album or anything like that. But i dont know what she is going to change it to, but of course with Love Songs you can have any kind of theme.

:headache I dont want to fly all the way out there and not hear evolution.. the other two im fine with, but she has to sing the staple song for sure.

maikaru 28th March 2011 11:11 PM

I honestly really don't think this tour is about Love Songs album anymore. She's been really impacted by the tsunami and earthquake, and she's been talking about giving hope and love to everyone recently. Everything she is posting in Twitter points to this theme, so I know some of you guys don't want it, but I really think this time the concert's theme is gonna be "Hope." I mean even her charity t-shirt has just "Hope" on it.

TeamAyu2004 28th March 2011 11:13 PM

I hope she donates money and stuff with it too.

Maybe she'll do two tours. Like in 2002 -> Arena Tour and Stadium Tour. Love song tour and Japadium tour ;)

Actually, I'd like that. As long as she won't call it "Japadium Tour" :cool

ayuuk 29th March 2011 02:22 AM

I am actually touched by her decision to change this year's stage, theme, title and everything. I think Love songs is a good album, but right now Japan and everyone impacted by the earthquake and tsunami need something more than that. I think the main message would be using music to deliver love and hope.

C+R+E+AYUMI 29th March 2011 07:45 AM

so sorry they cancelled all the first dates..

Luja. 29th March 2011 09:27 AM

I think it's sad that they had to cancel the first dates, but I am very surprised and touched by their / her decision to change everything about the tour.. Music always gives me a lot of hope and strenght, I hope for all the people in Japan it will work the same way. Do you think she will have a smaller stage than normal? I mean, normally she has this big stage, effects and much costume changes. But if this tour will be mainly about hope and comforting people, I think maybe it will look different? Plus, they might still have this electricity problem.
2 tours would be a lot of work to do, but if she could really manage to do it, it'd be so great if she could give some part of the money she earns with it to the victims.

Tony G 29th March 2011 10:18 AM

She's doing the right thing.

I'm liking that she's changing the theme of the tour. Even more honoured that I'll hopefully get to watch it in July!

Sandy 29th March 2011 12:32 PM

I still think that Ayu should have an outside tour. For me it's like... Japan it's known for it's nature, you know? For me, outside would make more sense.

And knowing Ayu, she'd give out money (the tour makes) to charity.

Andrenekoi 29th March 2011 01:59 PM

I think Sandy means an outdoors tour, not and oversea one

jbrat2219 29th March 2011 02:14 PM

Is it confirmed she's changing it?

TeamAyu2004 29th March 2011 03:01 PM

^ She was tweeting something about changing, but I havent seen the tweets where she is talking about the tour...

jbrat2219 29th March 2011 04:46 PM

I hope she does the original theme this year as well though... Like have one massive show at the dome, maybe?

LacusClyne 29th March 2011 04:50 PM

i am pissed!!!!!!!!!

remember that there was someone tweeting ayu that the people in saitama arena will have to be chase out by 31st, so that ayu can have her concert?

now there are news reports saying that, ayu is stingy about donating 3500 000yen, and wants to get back her money by the concert dates in April. But as many people are furious about 'chasing' the people out of saitama, avex had to urgently send out a notice to cancel the concert, because of the complaints.

damm you avex!!!!!!!!!!! if you had send out the notice much much earlier, all this **** won't happen. Ayu is now getting scolded because of Avex.

Cyberbird 29th March 2011 04:58 PM

Is not because avex, is because some useless media who want to detract the reality.

Neo Daydream 29th March 2011 05:10 PM

I think the new title will probably have "HOPE" in it since her charity t-shirts say "HOPE for JAPAN"

LacusClyne 29th March 2011 05:11 PM

Cyberbird: i agree that the media playe a part. But well, but we can't ignore the fact that avex took their own sweet time to put out the notice... its unfair to others' especially those people who are in Saitama now. Imagine if you were them, and you knew someone will be holding a concert there next month but the record company had not put out any notice, no one will feel secure hiding there.

and also to those fans who are flying to japan(or had reach there already) for the saitama show, they will be very dissappointed..

Not to mention that there are already unhappy news about ayu already, any small additional thing will just 'shoot' to her, even if she did nothing wrong.

Luja. 29th March 2011 05:18 PM

^ I agree that this is a bad situation, but put yourself in the shoes of avex management. Of course they would rather have ayu do the tour as planned, this is the way the company earns money. But in the last two weeks there were new news about earthquakes and Fukushima nuclear plant coming nearly every 4 hours. Everything was uncertain, and that was not avex' fault, nobody knew what would happen next.

Cyberbird 29th March 2011 05:30 PM

But make the annotation that Ayu's concerts were not the single event to take place in Saitama arena.
Do you think that someone will dare to push those people away in their situation? I wonder who came with this ~brilliant~ idea at first, the victims will stay in there the time the goverment says to be required, and not, is not three days.

And for the people from overseas who is already in Japan is a shame, but they might see the situation, Saitama is close to the affected area.

Alifay 29th March 2011 06:51 PM

A whole new concert? Wow this is very interesting!!

I am very curious to see what happens. This is the first Ayu concert I am getting to go to (it's my graduation present) I will be at the June 4 show.

It would be so very cool if she wrote a new song for the efforts! Like A Song is Born. I hope that no more dates get cancelled ... I would be heartbroken if I wasn't able to see her this year. I worry she could stop touring at any time now.

Also, I agree that having HOPE in the the tour name would be really good.

Minttulatte 29th March 2011 06:57 PM

Maybe she just calls it "ayumi hamasaki ARENA TOUR 2011 A". Simple. x3

And I really want to see a similar theme than Dome Tour 2001 had. *_*

TeamAyu2004 29th March 2011 07:53 PM

Man, poor Ayumi doesnt get a break does she?

But avex could of said something earlyer. I know everything was uncertain but there is no way that everything could get back to normal by the time that the concert was suppose to be held their. As soon as they found out that people were staying in those area because of this, they should of put postponed for those dates.

Poor planing on avex's part.

Pieces_of_SEVEN 29th March 2011 09:55 PM

This has nothing to do with Avex. It's the idiot media.

jbrat2219 29th March 2011 11:25 PM

Ayu seems to be getting picked on heavily by the media anyway. I'm sure any ammunition the media could use on her they will. The delayed news is just a reason to tell blatant lies about her because as ANY fan would know, Ayu news is almost always late now a days. Is that bad on her management's part, yes. But I doubt they were sitting on their asses, twiddling their thumbs and wasting time. I'm sure they were trying to work something out behind the scenes but because of media pressure, they put out a cancellation notice.

But in the last two weeks there were new news about earthquakes and Fukushima nuclear plant coming nearly every 4 hours. Everything was uncertain, and that was not avex' fault, nobody knew what would happen next.

I should rephase my words. Ayu's management.
There was already news from koda kumi management 1 week ago that her tour, first few dates will be postponed, i don't really understand why ayu management had to take so long, cutting it so close to the dates.

The media and people will just attack her, instead of her management.
Ayu- scapegoat.
This is what I am not happy about. Being a management, you should not only look out for your company interest, and your artist interest too. They should minimize chances of media bashing their artist, preventing bad news, not the other way round.

TeamAyu2004 30th March 2011 04:14 AM

Now that her website is updated again, im pretty convinced that the tour will be Hope for Japan theme.

CZECHayu 30th March 2011 05:35 AM

Hey guys, Is there anyone from Japan who could buy the tickets for both dates in tokyo for me? I'd pay you the money with some extra. please

tokyoxjapanxfan 30th March 2011 06:49 AM

but aren't the postponements due to the fact that she changed things around?

Lee^ChaN 30th March 2011 07:11 AM

Well uhm, according to the news here, the blackout-schedule probably is going to continue until summer. I think it'll be hard for avex to held concerts in this kind of situation

Not sure about koda's team but I think ayu's team gets to have a break to deal with the disasters right?
And only went back to work last week?
And I don't think they dare to make such big decision of cancelling concerts without approval from ayu after a group meeting. So even they're confirm of cancelling the concerts, they have to wait till someone to give a green light to carry out the announcements.

ayuuk 30th March 2011 07:54 AM

I think Avex/Ayu's management should have announced relevant cancellations/postponements earlier. It is not only in people's interest to know and plan their travel accordingly, it is also in the artist's interest.

And yeah, bad media!!! :( :( :(

MissElin_ 30th March 2011 08:55 AM

I kind of hope she will do something really calm and easy for this tour now. Like, outdoors arenas, in daylight to save electricity etc. I kind of like a simple stage too, just like a normal one. So that ppl will concentrate on the music and the meaning and not wonder how much electricity that went on the concert or something else.

But OMG I'm sick of media... Avex did very badly with canceling Ayu's concerts when they gave good notice for other Avex artists. Such a shame really.

oh, I love that idea. A half of concert from Stadium tour was under daylight
and simple stage → less weigh of decoration → less trucks needed for delivery

+easier to take overseas. :innocent

Suteisi 30th March 2011 04:00 PM

The thing is, we just DON'T KNOW how it works within Avex, and between them and Ayu. So we can't really assume and then point and blame whoever at this point.

The media likes to cause drama, especially asian media I've noticed, everything surrounding celebrities out there is blown out of proportions even more than it is elsewhere and sometimes they just fabricate something totally unrelated out of the blue.

We know Ayu didn't do those things the report is mentioning.

Why Avex took longer to cancel/postpone her concerts, who knows, we'll probably never know.

Finally someone who is aware that NONE of US know whether it's ayu is to blame or her management. +1 for you.

zoomzoom 30th March 2011 05:09 PM

I really don't think electricity is gonna be a problem, they could just use power generators that don't rely on the public grid or a combination.

If she chooses to go with some kind of charity theme, I hope she completely ditches the original idea so it won't be some kind of weird mash-up.

I am afraid that one way or another that's what it's gonna happen. It's a bit too late to completely produce a tour from scratch so you can bet she will use many of the ideas she originally had for Hotel Love songs.

jbrat2219 30th March 2011 06:55 PM

Yeah, no way she can start from scratch so hopefully this concert isn't filled with rushed ideas... We could see a lot of re-using of performances this year.

But it wouldnt be right to channel electricity for the sake of having a smooth concert without blackout when the rest of japan are dealing electricity ration (is there such a term?)

zoomzoom 30th March 2011 07:36 PM

^I do think they're balancing a very delicate balance between trying to make life go on as usual with a great show that will make people think about happier things and ending up coming off as being completely out of touch with the situation and just trying to rack money in.

But as far as it being possible for them to put on a huge, power consuming show, it definitely is.

What I meant with the show was that if they go with the Hope charity thing, I do hope they ditch the whole old show and come up with a simple show that doesn't require a ton of planning. Either go with the old or do something all new on a smaller scale. Anything in between and the charity would look tacked on.

Andrenekoi 30th March 2011 07:39 PM

They can just adapt the old concert... Most of the time, the only thing that really settle the theme for her performances are the outfits and the videos..

Luja. 30th March 2011 07:40 PM

^
^ I also thought that they might do a smaller concert. Smaller stage, less crazy lightning effects and maybe less costume changes, too? I know this doesn't have to do with electricity, but it'd be another way to save money. I don't expect her to do a show like.. just standing on the stage and wearing one outfit all night, but on the other hand, she did just that for MSta as well! And I think that'd be really great actually. Would make it all about the music, feelings and the hope they want to give people. But either way, I think they'll put on a great show that will make people happy and maybe take some worries off their mind.

njanjayrp 30th March 2011 08:46 PM

^ the costumes and videos were prolly already made by now, it would be a shame not to use them, especially when they've already spent money on those.

Who... 30th March 2011 10:43 PM

Yeah, I think something like HOPE&LOVE SONGS TOUR would be cool, but the HOTEL word thing in front of it is also kinda funny and cute in a way, like AYU's been running a hotel or something like that XD

Agreed. I hope she will save Hotel Love Songs for the CDL instead or something.

TeamAyu2004 31st March 2011 10:09 PM

^ that would be cool.. I never thought of that. Countdown live with a bed theme... sleepie... :tired lol

Bigtop 31st March 2011 10:49 PM

The next time Ayu's concerts they do, I think they should use as much LED lights as possible (does not use very much electricity, as we know)...

Also the theme of the tour is quite "expensive-feely"... But yeah, cool busses.

asmAyumi1992 4th April 2011 05:50 PM

Cool buses :D

I'm thinking that she'll have Tour like Limited TA live one. So simple. It's just my thought :P

Aderianu 8th April 2011 10:53 AM
