LADY GAGA: The Fame Monster EXPLICIT CD Version HELP!
Hi,
I have an important question to ask I'm getting frustrated with finding for an explicit version of THE FAME MONSTER CD. I saw one on eBay but it is like a rip off. So I went to Wikipedia to have a look on which hard copy versions are truly EXPLICIT and UNCENSORED. So these countries have the explicit versions of the CD (not the USB): JAPAN (CD+DVD) AUSTRALIA (CD, Digital) GERMANY (CD) Hence, my question is whether anyone of you has the JAPAN (CD+DVD) version whom I can confirm that it is an explicit version before I purchase it on CDJapan as they have the CD+DVD version. Thank you very much. EDIT: Thanks alot! I bought the Japan CD+DVD and it is EXPLICIT! <3 |
why don't you buy it digitally through iTunes Store?
or, aren't there any explicit version on Singapore? ==a |
I thought Lady Gaga never released an explicit version of it at all because she thought her covers were too beautiful to have the parental label to slam onto it? I read that somewhere lol.
|
I prefer to keep the hard copy and yes she released it also in cd format long after the initial release.
And no Singapore doesn't have any explicit versions. I'm hoping that someone who owns the JAPAN CD+DVD version can let me know if it is explicit or not. I really want an explicit version. |
I seen the physical album with the parental advertisement thing.
|
^ Really? I swear I read somewhere that she didn't want the parental label getting in the way of the album so she only released it censored. Even then, all copies of the album I've seen here are all censored. All of them.
|
I don't know which versions are explicit but I can definitely say there are some because all the fame monster songs I have on my computer are uncensored.
|
^ I know the leaked version of The Fame Monster was uncensored. But official CD copies are censored, from what I've seen. Don't know if foreign released versions are uncensored or not.

Wikipedia has a list of Explicit version available. and I just bought a copy of "The Fame Monster" Australian version with "Warning" sticker on from an Australian eBay Seller whom guaranteed that it is made in australia. So I'm very hopeful that I'll be getting the Explicit CD version. |
I did some research, everywhere but the US basically got the explicit version.
|
^when is explicit does it have that parental advisory sticker?
I saw one is best buy and in target O.o |
What's the big deal with censoring stuff anyway? Singers will still use those words so I don't understand why do they even bother with it. If it's because of kids or something? Don't give me that, they will still hear every bad word from other people or songs or whatever lol. :'D
And yes, I got a censored version of The Fame Monster and sometimes I really hate the fact that there are words that has been silenced in Monster and Dance In The Dark. >.> |

I didn't have that parental advisory whatever sticker either on my copy of The Fame Monster.
It's funny that the songs are edited on the official album, but not on the remix album. :'D |
^You have a censored version? That's odd, my copy of The Fame Monster has no parental advisory or whatever labels but is happily uncensored.
|
Ah crap. All this censorship sucks man. I got my Katy Perry "Teenage Dream" deluxe, oddly enough IN Singapore and it is Explicit. Why is Gaga's one Censored?
Meatpao bought an Australian deluxe edition with Silver text and his is UNCENSORED. Lucky hahaha |
I own the monster in vinyl and it's censored. I hate censored anything. I think everything should be uncensored and stores simply card people that look too young. I know for a fact that walmart carries censored versions and only censored versions of everything. There was a dispute because Greenday said they don't like censoring stuff either and they refuse to release a censored version of their new album so walmart decided to not sell their stuff.
I really wanted to buy pink's compilation album, but I still haven't yet because it really irks me to see "Including her brand new single *******in' Perfect" on the front of it on a sticker. All those stars really annoy me, it's even like that on the back tracklist. Same with lilly allen's album. Even uncensored/explicit versions say "**** You" on the tracklist. It pisses me off so much. I have been turned off so much from buying American albums it's ridiculous. |

The catalog number on the disc is 2730473 and the UPC is 0 602527 304731, but as long as it's Australian press and has the warning label on the cover you should be okay. I'd be doubtful about the Japanese edition being uncensored because when the album was first released, FLAC rips from it were all censored. So while it's possible that later pressings are uncensored, first pressings definitely weren't. From my own research, I'd only trust the Australian press as being uncensored since it's the only one that gives any sort of indication with the warning label. And, WOW, did the price for Australian edition really go up since when I first bought it. It was pretty uncommon back then and it looks like it'll be downright rare now. :shakehead |

But on Ke$ha's new remix album, the back cover says **** Him He's a DJ, but if you look in the booklet it says the F word uncensored Him He's a DJ. But yeah, I only buy things explicit. Censored stuff isn't worth it, to be honest. |

ah crap... I received the Australian 2CD version of The Fame Monster and ITS STILL CENSORED??!?!?!?!?! CRAPPPP....
Now I know that the STANDARD EP of 8 tracks of the FAME MONSTER ONLY is EXPLICIT... ah crap, I'll just get it from the eBay seller that is selling it at the high price...only for Gaga... I'm tried of looking all over for it... just buy it from him... I've emailed my local music store and UMG company... still couldn't get it for me... crap... |
^ Censored songs make the tracks so incomplete. :(
|
^I know. People 50 years from now won't know what lady gaga means when she says that she's a free bit.
|
Why is finding songs with swearing so hard? It makes me so mad that in Britney's Till the World Ends, they censored the lyric "If you want this good ****, sicker than the remix". And I got it on iTunes! What kid has a credit card (ignoring iTunes cards). I like cuss words.
|
^I made an uncensored version of it. Luckily they just reversed that one word. So I just slapped the instrumental over that one little snippet. took the vocal track. reversed that one word, and tada. it sounds fine. Other songs though are hard to do. Like when they gradually slow or speed up the words. (Like in katy perry's ET where kanye says we don't give a f-f-fuuu... and it slows down like on a record). Yeah that's hard to fix. lol
|
Just to add, I bought The Fame Monster (back when it first came out) and my copy is, as expected, censored too. I did buy it at Walmart though so that's a surefire way for it to be censored. I didn't realize when I was buying it that there were even any songs with swears though, since I'd never heard the album until I ripped it later that night. It sucks, but I got the uncensored versions of the three songs since then thankfully ;)
|
They need to clearly state on CDs and downloads if they have curse words censored or not. I'm not some 13 year old who is trying to be cool. And I swear it wasn't always this way. I bet the soccer moms complained or something.
|
I thought it was censored because Lady Gaga didn't watch the ugly "explicit content" logo pasted on her "beautiful cover". NOT because soccer moms.
|
^I wasn't talking about Gaga's CD, I'm talking about CDs in general :)
|
The only thing that really confuses me about this is Ke$ha. On her record "Animal", in the song "Blah Blah Blah", she says the b-word and d-word uncensored. But on her remix album, which has the parental sticker on it, the remixer censored the two words...Then on "Animal" once again, on the song "Party at a Rich Dude's House", they censored the s-word. But the next song after it, "Backstabber", she says the s-word uncensored :| It pisses me off because it's so strange how she released it.
|
^ Maybe for a non-Parental Advisory they have a specific allowance of times you can use each swear. Or maybe each swear has a certain value and once you exceed that it becomes PA.
|
^ Yes, I understand that. What I don't understand is how she censored the s-word in one song but the song right after uses the s-word extensively uncensored on the same CD.
|
Huh? But either of the explanations I guessed makes sense as a reason for why that would be 0_o
I know I'm just guessing but if you got what I was saying then there shouldn't be that same confusion. |
that happened with verbal's visionair. Half of the songs were censored. In black out, when lil wayne says the b word, they censor it out, but in another song, change change, nikki minaj says the n word, and the f word twice, and neither are censored out. And in Fall out, verbal censors out the b word.
That's a japanese album too, it's not like they're even going to understand what he's saying. |

In the song Knocks You Down by Keri Hilson, there is a lyric where the male singer says "my pimp ship flying high". The word ship is censored, but not pimp. What the heck is up with that??? I wish someone would release an official explanation on how they choose to censor songs. |
