The interviewer (May J.) and JAY'ED explain that there's a place in Beijing where you can find lots of information about Japanese music. Since JAY'ED is the special guest, so he's invited to that place (The place that you can find lots of new info about Japanese music in Beijing). Some chinese people which is the fans of Japanese music and especially JAY'ED also come to that place. The interviewers ask them and they mention some another Japanese artists. Ayu included and the part of 'Love song' PV showed. While the PV is showed, there's also scrolling text about Ayu's debut info.

Another artists that they mention is KAT-TUN, Arashi, LUNA SEA, Koda Kumi, etc. as shown in their site. So basically the 'artists' here is, the artists got promoted in J-Melo by showing one of their PV.

The title "J-MELO in Beijing" means the theme of the show is about Japanese music in Beijing.
The show is basically showing how Japanese music are popular in Beijing, and you can find some info about the culture there from that show.
So, I'm guessing the next show "J-MELO in London and Paris" will showing how Japanese music become popular in London and Paris.

Hopefully everyone understand my explanation here.

isthisLOL? 31st March 2011 08:55 PM

Picaflor 7/4 31st March 2011 09:04 PM

I don't live in paris, london, chicago, or beijing so I guess I can just disregard this.

Worldwide broadcast? And her performing in these countries(if she performs) still is a great thing imo.

truehappiness 31st March 2011 09:37 PM

J-MELO usually airs PVs as far as I remember.

I should try to catch this broadcast though~

AyumiAi 31st March 2011 10:04 PM

This is cool

Kazeyomi 31st March 2011 10:14 PM

So.. do they will gonna broadcast some of her live recording?
I know I may be stupid, but I don't get it lol. And I don't know where I can watch it here :/

Lanz16 31st March 2011 10:23 PM

That's really great!!!

But I can't watch it here :(

amorphose 31st March 2011 10:45 PM

Does anyone know what channel this on if you've got DirectTV satellite TV? Is it only on NHK World? Cause I'm pretty sure I don't have that channel. :(

Bigtop 31st March 2011 10:48 PM

Whoa, that's quite interesting...

asmAyumi1992 1st April 2011 12:31 PM

Waah~~ Why my dad don't buy NHK :weep

rakeru 1st April 2011 12:51 PM

So you have to have a special channel to view this? Time to buy a TV and pay for this channel!

MissElin_ 1st April 2011 02:01 PM

Hold.... What? So, everyone will go to those cities and perform and it will be recorded and then shown on tv? Or is it like... a collcetion of everyones lives? But then why is there cities names there? I'm totally confuced. "What does this mean?" ;P

I think the screencaps say a bit, performances and interviews mostly in the few I've looked at. So I guess we'll be getting at the very least one performance and one english interview, maybe more, considering she is sheduled for 2 of them?

unhidragtor 1st April 2011 10:03 PM

This is not world wide...but it's ok.

Bigtop 1st April 2011 10:34 PM

Because it's officially listed in NHK's site, I don't think this is some kind of an April Fool joke, but let's see how it goes...

LastAngel 1st April 2011 11:01 PM

Are the artists going to go perform in those cities??
If so, I wanna go to the Chicago one...

JackieRos 1st April 2011 11:38 PM

ah crap I have to buy that channel

so much for this

Kazeyomi 2nd April 2011 12:48 AM

OMG O_O according to my satellite television's site I can actually watch NHK.
Must check it asap.

Mirrorcle World ~longing future~ 2nd April 2011 01:38 AM

Omg NHK my friend's got this channel

Bigtop 2nd April 2011 03:50 AM

If anyone has an iPhone/iPod touch (iPad also), there's an NHK World app for free. I already have it in my iPhone already.

Maybe NHK should enhance the NHK World app for the iPad and its higher-resolution screen...

Eewyi 2nd April 2011 10:08 AM

Nice..but I can't watch NHK here :x
Oh, nice, I CAN actually watch it ^^ jibTV broadcast it for free~
And also, nice bonus that May J. is the host ^__^ I like her music pretty much!

Aside from music videos, the program features interviews and recorded performances.

So I guess it's just a collection of videos and live perfromances of the mentioned artists.
Pretty nice though that it's entirely in English.

Recorded performances usually refers to performances that are just not done live in TV but instead recorded a few days or weeks before like CDTV so it's not concert footage I think.

elvesword 2nd April 2011 02:21 PM

wow, sounds good, this is the first time I know this program haa!!!

That's what I thought at first as well, but reading the whole Wikipedia article it doesn't seem so.
Cause it also says that there is pretty rarely a guest with performance there. Most of the time they're there for an interview or just per video.
Does anybody know more for the coming episodes? :think

Kagome-chan 2nd April 2011 06:08 PM

You can watch it with Keyhole!

Polyrhythm 2nd April 2011 07:12 PM

I've been watching J-MELO forever. o_o They'd never get Ayu. She's too famous. It's just a PV and not really news. And the program kinda sucks. May J. is a horrid hosts who talks to you like she thinks you're incapable in English. It is basically the only way to see Jpop on free TV so I guess....that's worth something.

ownsarai 2nd April 2011 08:36 PM

I watched J-MELO a few times when melody. was the host and it wasn't too bad. But it seems like this will be only recordings of past live performances? Still, that is a really great thing for people who cannot really watch them.

Chibi-Chan 3rd April 2011 01:23 AM

Thanks!^^

pommy48 3rd April 2011 01:55 AM

J-Melo have pre-recorded performances and I saw Ayu on it once, but it was only Mirrorcle World's PV

Queen Bee 3rd April 2011 03:52 AM

^I also remember them showing the Together When... PV but that was back when melody. was still hosting J-Melo.

AyUta 3rd April 2011 06:58 AM

I'll have to see if I get the channel when I get home.

It would be nice to watch it, since both Ayu & Kumi are there, but I don't live in any of these towns either.

Now, I remember I saw one episode with Emiri Miyamoto, when she was talking about collaboration album - Saint Vox with Jade Valerie.

Pieces_of_SEVEN 3rd April 2011 08:49 PM

JAY'ED and ayu? very interesting

Aderianu 11th April 2011 04:47 PM

it was today
who saw?

C+R+E+AYUMI 12th April 2011 07:21 AM

OMG..i hate my paytv now..no NHK -__-

mecury2511 12th April 2011 09:19 AM

I saw this show today @@

The show is talking about Jpop in Beijing, they shown a lot of artists, and there's a girl in Beijing who love ayu because of ayu's fashion ( she said that ) , and then they shown a part of "Love song" for 15-20s

that is ayu's part on JMELO ^^! because the main artist got the interview with May.J are JAY'ED and alan :D

mecury2511 12th April 2011 09:21 AM

I found this show on Youtube :D but the uploader had cut the ayu's part :))

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n4oBQ...=youtube_gdata

ownsarai 12th April 2011 09:41 AM

Oh so um, they only talked about Ayu for about a minute? Hmm...I guess it wasn't really worth waiting for. xD

mellody 12th April 2011 10:13 AM

I am the guy in the blue top with glasses who was first to mention Ayu, and my e-mail was the first read out after the report on the meeting!

We were asked who our favorite artist was, and why we liked them.

BTW May-J is wonderful in person.

mecury2511 18th June 2011 03:21 PM

I watch J-MELO many times, but they're rarely show Ayu or Koda T_T

Second to that, May seems pretty nice person~ ^__^ [+ I like her music]
I hope they would come to Finland :D [However, I'm pretty sure 80% people would say they like some J-rockers...J-rock and rock in general are pretty popular here, whereas J-pop is rarely talked here, in the magazines too they usually talk about J-rock... I think that's sad :/]
