ayu, adding NT1100 million more for the victims
Namie donated NT1830 million, the biggest donor among all japanese artistes

To date, namie has donated 5000 million yen while ayu donated NT 1280 million.
Upon seeing the devastating aftermath of the tsunami and quake, Namie donated 5000million yen for the restructuration works, while ayu has collaborated with fashion magazine, Vivi, with the sale of charity shirts. However, ayu was criticized online for using the money of others to do charity works, while she herself did not use her own money.
In actual fact, ayu has already donated NT180 million but just to counter what many has speculated, she continued to increase her donations by 3000million yen (NT1100 million) and also donating all the profits earned from the sale of the tshirts to charity. Despite so, there are some who felt that she should have donated even more since her entire wealth exceeds that of Namie’s.

1. Namie NT1830m
2. Ayu NT1280m
3. Glay NT728m
4. Dreams come true NT360m

The value of the remaining's donors were not announced

Sorry for the lousy translations

NintendoHTF1242 16th April 2011 03:04 PM

Instead of trying to figure out who donated the most, why don't we just thank everyone that donated?

ren0210989 16th April 2011 03:05 PM

people are still going on about such things?? who cares who donated more, sheesh -.-

When they discuss like who donated the most, to me it always seems like they don't care about the victiims that need money, but it's like a contest who got more money to give away >_>

ExodusUK 16th April 2011 03:28 PM

I would be so embarrassed to be a koda kumi fan right now

alternarist 16th April 2011 03:37 PM

yeah.. there is no point in comparing who donates the most. GRR

namie has already gained about 20 years if you see any of her new photos!

good for them for donating.

g~sus~ 16th April 2011 03:56 PM

this article is so pathetic...ayu is donating sincerely..doesn't that ever counts..

panda♥ 16th April 2011 04:24 PM

I love how people are more concerned about how much the stars donated, and spending more time criticizing them for it than actually doing something themselves. :rolleyes

^It's probably because Kuu hasn't "donated" anything. :D Well, she put three songs for downloading of which every cent will be donated. She also has that charity ribbon for Dejavu Tour I think so I wouldn't think she hasn't done anything lol. :'D

AyUta 16th April 2011 05:21 PM

Seriously, who cares. Just be happy that people have donated because they want to help their country.

She could have even donated privately. Plus, I know Kuu obviously makes a lot of money, but is she even as wealthy as Ayu or Namie? Either way like you said, she's doing something. I'm not ashamed to be a Kuu fan :luv2.

does she really need to flaunt to the world if she donated money or not? If she did that's good. If she didn't, i'm sure she's doing other things to compensate.

People shouldn't feel the need to compare how much people donate.

Miidoriness 16th April 2011 10:07 PM

I'm not surprise cause the two is very well known artists so I mean... they have lots of $$$ so it's not surprise. Plus, it goes to a good cause. It doesn't matter how much they contributed, as long they put their efforts into it ^^

rakeru 16th April 2011 10:09 PM

They really have to chill out with this. Who can possibly know the entire amount that people donated? They're not doing this for promotion, after all.

IYFreak 16th April 2011 10:11 PM

Donating one dollar, is just as good as donating a million. As long as you donate, every penny counts.

Exactly! I don't think she is as wealthy as those two since she produces a lot of her own stuff like her tours...If she donated I don't blame her for keeping it private. Didn't Ayu try to do the same thing?

Like stated before they should be thanking all the artist for doing something instead of trying to figure out how much money they donated.

this although it's quite understanble famous people will donate huge amount of money lol.
However they should thank all of the people who are donating, singers, actors and whoever. That's not a competition.

asmAyumi1992 17th April 2011 05:32 AM

Ayu is doing good :D

chu-lips 17th April 2011 05:48 AM

n my question is how rich ayu n namie are..?
Lol..
Any source how much their own money..

Didz-19 17th April 2011 08:02 AM

I don't really care how much they donated, what's important is that they're sincere to donate. :) I think the article is really really stupid. How much the company who made this article donated? Anybody knows? Maybe people should make an article which "article company" donated the most, then we will see who talk rubbish! :) Who agree with me? :)

I think so, Mika John spilled the beans about the actual amount Ayu donated.

I think people are taking the Kuu comment too seriously by the bye. It's clearly a joke D:

I found that Mika John thing all really dodgy, I got the impression it was just fabricated to release the amount she'd donated.

Considering WE knew Ayu didn't want the amount released, Mika John would have known, especially if she knew the amount Ayu donated.

Anyway, I'm glad Ayu donated at the end of the day, I don't care who she donates more than etc... whether she tells us or not, it's money to help those who need it much much much more than Ayu does.

Lady_Eowyn 17th April 2011 09:46 PM

I think the intention is more important than money itself, if we count "who's doing more". you can donate millions and be really selfish. it's good the money if it's gonna be used for something useful, but what's the purpose if you only donate just to make a good impression on others? the intention is what matters. i think the whole charity idea is totally lost if you do it just because you want approval from others.

Anyway, i want to believe ayu did it for genuine care, but don't think Mika John "accidentally" told the press how much she donated, i mean, that to me was calculated.

FleurRebelle 17th April 2011 11:02 PM

I don't give a **** who donated the most.
All I care about is that people won't forget this like they did with Haiti.

Lanz16 17th April 2011 11:26 PM

Why they made such a big deal on listing people who made huge donations?
Its really pointless >:\

ayumasing 18th April 2011 02:18 AM

They don't care about what the money is used for, but how much each star donated? How sad. It's not a competition, media.... Quit trying to make something out of nothing, please.

When you have as much money as the two of them, no, it's not just as good. But thankfully they were both very generous and donated a ton of their money to the cause. We all know no one needs millions and millions of dollars, so the fact that they both donated that much is great. If they hadn't, I would have to say I'd honestly be a bit disappointed in them.

Marseille 18th April 2011 05:24 AM

Koda Kumi seems to be doing very little, and I totally agree with you, totally embarressed to be a Kuu fan now.

Marseille 18th April 2011 05:26 AM

Kuu is really popular, and vaex promotes her ALOT sometimes more than AYU. I think she makes at least as much money as Namie, so Koda Kumi could do more

Because people get stirred up about the stupidest crap and it's fun to watch people take the internet too seriously.

I don't think anyone was getting too out of hand about it. And honestly, everyone does it when it comes to their favorite singer. If someone were to post that Ayu didn't do anything to help with the disaster, half the members would be up in arms. Didn't something similar actually happen?

sanzo2011 18th April 2011 06:06 AM

I REALLY hate this article! so pointless!

koumori 18th April 2011 06:56 AM

Obvious media move of using the tsunami to sell. Whatever.

Ignore these articles - and the trolls lurking in this thread - and remember that the most important thing is the lives that the donations are saving.

So, its taking things too seriously when you defend your favorite singer? No matter what it is you are saying? No matter what others are saying?

clover_bali 19th April 2011 02:09 PM

I have 1 article again from a tabloid in Indonesia, asian plus
contents of this article is not much different from the first page of an article on this thread
this article tell about "Namie Amuro donated 5 billion rupiah, ayu donated 3,5 billion rupiah , Norika Fujiwara donated 6,5 billion rupiah, and L'Arc en Ciel donated
20th anniversary concert's profits"

JackieRos 20th April 2011 12:59 PM

Lmao is just an article

What matters is what they donated will help people end of story,
no need to talk crap about the article.
There are always going to be articles criticizing people that's how people are.
Like talking crap about someone else that's how it is.

Go namie

Um no offense to both Namie and Ayu, but these claims are freaking stupid. Everyone knows AKB donated like triple w/e anyone donated o_o

Kazeyomi 23rd April 2011 03:56 AM

^
well, they're over9000 members :laugh

jbrat2219 23rd April 2011 06:38 PM

^ I know right! They would each have to put in a few thousand yen and they could double both Namie and Ayu's donations put together LOL j/k.

Corvina 25th April 2011 10:17 AM

Just to clear things up... Kuu confirmed that she donated on her current tour:

From a review:

Quote:

During the MC she talks about future support for the earthquake and how she's donated individually but she also wants to donate together with her fans also so she decided on a charity song download.
Hope those ridiculous speculations end now. :rolleyes

ownsarai 25th April 2011 10:39 AM

Really, it shouldn't matter how much they donated. It's not a competition after all.

harkasan 27th April 2011 08:03 PM

I agree with that is silly to compare who is giving how much the important thing is to give no matter how much because every little yen counts, when I were in Fukuoka last week I put my coins in the collection boxes that were put up in most stores and caf''es I visited.
This was always received with a heartfelt Thank You! (arigato gozaimasu) at Tower Records the cashier gave me a badge with the slogan "More Action - More Hope".
At Canal City shopping mall Maki Goto performed and had a collection after her performance.

I think that arguing over who donated more is idiotic, just be happy that they did. Even so, that is their money and they worked hard for it. They didn't have to donate at all (Which I guess would make them look bad) so just be happy, sheesh lmfao.

nayumoon 24th July 2011 08:31 PM
