ayu-mi-x 7 opinions

Well, now that the albums are leaking, what are your opinions on them?

I absolutely LOVE the trance version; in fact, I think it might be my favorite remix album ever besides ayu-ro-mix 1 (of course we have yet to hear 4 ^_~)

The Acoustic Orchestra album was extremely disappointing to me, especially evolution (I think because we were all expecting ASIA TOUR 07 with that one). But the songs I did like (HANABI, forgiveness and LOVE ~Destiny~) I thought were absolutely amazing. HANABI is going on repeat.

House I was never really a fan of, but I don't hate the album. It's so-so to me.

channy 19th April 2011 01:02 AM

I listened to ayu trance 4 like 10 to 15 times already (since the full album leak was already available some days ago). I think its superb!!

Today I listened to the full album of -version HOUSE-. Like other ppl on here already said, it has a trancy vibe! I am not a big fan of ayu-mi-x albums but this one really IS interesting.

-version Acoustic Orchestra- I only listened to my most wanted song "forgiveness" and "WHATEVER". I really like what I hear there!!! "forgiveness" could have been a bit more darker and more depressing, but all in all; wonderful remix!

Only ayu-ro mix is completely unkown to me. Haven't heard anything from it yet. I am waiting for the FLAC on JPOPsuki though.

Oh, and the 5th CD, the limited box megamix thing; I hope it will appear online very soon, as well.

pepper 19th April 2011 01:09 AM

I like trance album overral. My favorites are vogue, monochrome, Endless Sorrow. The rest are fine.

House album was as expected, little boring, some of they sound the same. I like Dearest (sound like trance though Oo) and Virgin Road. Rest are meh or too remixed.

Waiting for AO to download, and Eurobeat to leak.

Picaflor 7/4 19th April 2011 01:37 AM

I've heard aov of never ever, voyage remix, and seaons remix, so far i like them.

love in music 19th April 2011 01:39 AM

I love all of the mixes on the acoustic orchestra CD except for kanariya, Trust, and AUDIENCE. standout mixes that made my jaw drop are HANABI, Moments, and evolution. absolutely outstanding mixes. I was looking forward to You were... the most though and ended up disappointed. I don't really like what they did with the chorus - should have been more epic like in the original song. It's still nice though.

The House album surprised me. Most are very nicely mixed and interesting. Stand out mixes are TO BE, Voyage, Dearest, and M. Those are excellent and I can see myself replaying them a lot.

Trance album isn't as good as I expected. I love the Days, monochrome, Rule, and vogue mixes but the rest is either bad or just alright.

waiting on the eurobeat as well ^^

butterfly_ayu 19th April 2011 01:40 AM

I really like the trance album. <3 It was much better than I thought it'll be. I was surprised that I listened to the whole album without stopping, because I never had much patience with remix albums~
Acoustic Orchestra... I'm listening to it right now, and nothing special for me yet. I was very disappointed about evolution too :(

NintendoHTF1242 19th April 2011 01:56 AM

The Acoustic Orchestra album is the definition of perfection. It is flawless and craps all over the past four original albums.

It's beautiful, gorgeous, stunning, perfect, life-changing, etc.

I am AMAZED! This release really brought me back into Ayu. The trance remix album is amazing as well! HOUSE will need to grow on me, and we're still waiting on EUROBEAT. But yes, Acoustic Orchestra is FLAWLESS. FLAAAAAAAAWLEEEEEEEEESSS <3

Kana×Shin 19th April 2011 02:26 AM

I think the trance 4 is the best one so far:heart and AO is boring imo,,,
forgot to add AO fav song "forgiveness (Arranged by Shingo Kobayashi)" so pretty~~~

zellyx 19th April 2011 02:28 AM

actually, I find the acoustic orchestra is so far, her best acoustic orchestra album yet.

beautiful.

:cry

I LOVE Love ~destiny~, and I find I'm not even a fan of the original. They are all very well done so far (I'm on my 4th track). I'll edit this when I listen to them all!

Kazeyomi 19th April 2011 03:10 AM

Ok the first ayu-mi-x I listened to is, Acoustic Orchestra. And here's my opinion:

BEST ACOUSTIC ORCHESTRA ALBUM SO FAR

It's absolutely p-e-r-f-e-c-t!
There's not a single song which I dislike, seriously. I'd cry of joy, I never thought AO would turns into such epicness.
So this is gonna be my favourite ayu-mi-x 7 album overall lol.

I'll listen to Trance album next :yes

GREENsora 19th April 2011 03:48 AM

I'm really addicted to the trance and acoustic orchestra albums! The AO version of forgivness completely blew my mind away, one of my favourites so far :heart

tokyoxjapanxfan 19th April 2011 04:05 AM

Acoustic Orchestra album is amazing. It's so beautiful...

I think, as of right now, kanariya is my favorite. The music is so emotional...
But I mean, I love all the tracks on the album... It's impossible to pick!

House, as I expected, is my least favorite of the 3 I've heard so far, but that's because I'm not a big fan of house music.

I suspect eurobeat will be my second favorite, but I can't say yet ;)

And trance is fantastic :)

The bolded made me laugh.
I agree. This AO is, i THINK the best out of all of them. It IS perfect in every way. I love it.
I think out of the fast tracks I like the trance album the best and the AO is amazing.
tied for 1st: Trance 4/AO
2. House
3. Euro (and mainly because i really dont like much euro.)

Zeke. 19th April 2011 04:17 AM

Trance is disappointing for me but it's not like I'm all mad over it. I just hate Rule, Days, and Carols. Can't even listen to them.

SEASONS > Far away > poker face > MOON > monochrome > YOU > vogue > Endless Sorrow > Greatful days >>> Rule = Days = Carols. I find it funny how it seems the majority dislike AyuTrance 3 (or at least prefer the other too), yet the general consensus seems to be vogue is the favorite and that's would fit straight on AyuTrance 3. My problem is with AyuTrance that I listen to trance nonstop and there's so much better out there in the trance music world right now that I'd rather listen to that than the majority of this album (besides SEASONS and Far away which are pretty much perfect).

EDIT: Just listened to HANABI first from AO. BEAUTIFUL! OMG, this is gonna be good!

HEAVEN~Destiny~ 19th April 2011 04:23 AM

Downloading Acoustic Orchestra now~

I'm so excited seeing everyone's responses about Acoustic Orchestra! I can't wait to listen to it!!

tokyoxjapanxfan 19th April 2011 04:51 AM

omgomgomg listening to eurobeat and omg STEP you is so fun ~~~~ :D

Kanzaki 19th April 2011 04:53 AM

In this post, I'll give my opinion on the AO album :)

1. WHATEVER
I was never really that huge a fan of the original mix of this song -mainly the chorus- but the AO mix surprisingly (to me) does it a lot of good. Only one part of this mix bugged me and it was about halfway into the song when the chorus sounded really weird. I don't like the dual-layer effect they used for her voice there, imo they should've just left it alone. Or even better; a new vocal recording for the chorus where she sang the "Whoa whoa whoa" part much more softly. Overall, I liked it, nothing more or any less than that.

2. HANABI
I knew this was going to be a tear-jerker, since the original was, but oh wow...It's like this song has been completely reborn and it's a prodigy child. It even made me sing along. I haven't done that for so long with HANABI. Gorgeous, perfect, effin' amazing.

3. Moments

The slow-tempo, gentle piano tune continues nicely. It feels like a tiny bit slower and even more relaxing than HANABI, but not as mellow. I like it.

4. Kanariya
I was either expecting something amazing or a major ear-grinder from this one. It's so funny how it's always the tracks you just can't picture being any good, that turns out to be just spectaculair. Some of the instruments sounded a bit off and at some points there was just a bit too much going on, but really it was a very emotional and beautiful mix of Kanariya that even suited her old vocals. I liked it.

5. HEAVEN
Just as amazing as it's older sister :laugh I expected as much from HEAVEN; it's a beautiful song in this mix too.

6. NEVER EVER
I like the opening, made me think of Björk. Then it turned all "funny and playful part in a musical" and I was all, "wtf". Looks like Homma enjoyed himself here. A lot of playfulness in this one. It's not really epic or gorgeous etc, but it's nice and sweet. Nice to see a bit of versatility.

7. Trust
Again with the playfulness! So jazzy. It's like I'm at a café. I love jazz and I actually have to admit that I like this to, though it's a quirky mix and it's unusual to hear Trust like this.

8. AUDIENCE
It's like the same band as before continued playing! lol. It's almost samba. It's really well-mixed and it swings, but I'm not sure I'll be listening to this. Nice, but not really my taste.

9. evolution
Epic and dramatic. And I don't want any less for evolution. I love the creativity in this mix. I think the sounds, instruments, tempo, it all suits the song and Ayu's vocals. It's also just as upifting as the original mix, which is a big plus.

10. BLUE BIRD
BLUE BIRD is like the only song Ayu's ever released that I can't listen to. I mean I really, really dislike it. As I'm hearing her vocals again, I'm reminded of the dislike for the song, but the new instrumentals gives me some sort of joy, kind of. I know I won't be listening to this again, probably, but I prefer this over the original.

11. You were...
Straight from one of my least favorite Ayu songs to one of the best I know. The mood and tempo is mellow and slow to mid-tempo. I just love the sound of the cello which softly dissapears into a high-pitched group of violins and a grand bell chiming. This mix is as close to perfection as You Were... can get.

12. forgiveness
As if this song could get any better. Well, it could. I'm so impressed and mesmerized. The soft sounds, slightly muted bells, the traditional japanese flute sounds that are carefully hidden underneath the heavier instruments and finally, Ayu's careful vocals...this mix is perhaps the best on this album and the most delicately remixed. It is just so grand and utterly beautiful.

13. LOVE ~Destiny~

Just when it couldn't get any better. OMG. The piano is so moving. Love ~D~ really needed this lift. Again, it's like the rebirth of the original song, so much more beautiful. Ayu's vocals seems slightly modified, softened, but it's to the better. I'll be listening this A LOT. The best way to end this album.

I know when I pressed play I'm like "Please God let this be amazing" because as much as I tried to hold in my anticipation and expectations for a euro version of STEP you, I couldn't expect and hope it'd be anything less than amazing. I smiled and laughed when it kicked in and then stopped it like a minute in to just take in how amazing that was so far. Lol.

tokyoxjapanxfan 19th April 2011 04:54 AM

^ seriously. It's brilliant! haha

Zeke. 19th April 2011 04:58 AM

So far it looks like my ranking might just be:

Ayu-ro > AO > Trance > House.

I seriously cannot wait to turn up the BPM to uk hardcore / happy hardcore speeds on the euro album and put that on my iPod to run to! I'm bouncing around in my seat so hard right now! Lol.

tokyoxjapanxfan 19th April 2011 05:00 AM

ahhh glitter is so good! (*0*)

I think I'm with you on this one. Euro might be my fave of this series...We'd have the same ranking :P

TeamAyu2004 19th April 2011 05:11 AM

Im listen to a few tracks of Ayu-ro and I have to say I am liking them! I think this might be the best set of remix albums since Ayu-mix 4!

love in music 19th April 2011 05:18 AM

I'm not a big fan of eurobeat but listening to this eurobeat album with an open mind.. I really think some of these mixes are great. glitter, Sunrise, and STEP you are perfect with that upbeat fast paced style and I was really surprised with Startin'.. it's amazing! I didn't think it'd work with that style but it sounds fantastic. Other favorites are INSPIRE, talkin' 2 myself, and Free & Easy. I like how these still had lots of similarities with the original songs.

Zeke. 19th April 2011 06:00 AM

TO BE remix on house version is really good :)
Wow, Dearest is good too. Crap, House might be above trance overall for me at the end. We'll see. I didn't see that coming.

Coelacanth 19th April 2011 06:00 AM

OMG AUDIENCE AOV!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

pommy48 19th April 2011 06:15 AM

I love Eurobeat so so much!!!! ♥ Loving every single remix on it!

FoObY 19th April 2011 06:20 AM

Overall I'm really impressed with the quality of remixes. HOUSE is the most disappointing, but I kind of expected that since House spells generic beats. Though there still a few remixes that are outstanding on the HOUSE album.

Trance > Acoustic Orchestra > Ayu-ro-mix > HOUSE

Don't get me wrong, the eurobeat remixes are excellent, but I can't listen to eurobeat for prolonged periods of time. The ranking is based on my likelihood of listening to each of the albums on repeat. I think the quality of the first three albums are pretty close, but genre-wise I tend to listen to trance more than acoustic and eurobeat respectively.

Sirea 19th April 2011 06:22 AM

Haha wow. I just got done actually downloading the thing. I mean, I'm so excited to listen to everything but god, there's SO MUCH music here. It's actually overwhelming. This really is an insane release. I'll be busy for awhile. XD

elvis810 19th April 2011 06:25 AM

i'm smiling at vogue's remix, it's so damn good~!

where is eurobeat!?????? i can't wait to get my copy next week.

Sirea 19th April 2011 06:49 AM

^ Okay I agree 100% with the vogue assessment. I actually had to get up and dance. XD

Zeke. 19th April 2011 06:54 AM

Idk why everyone loves vogue! It's annoys me - I mean the bass is intense for the chorus but the solo synth part is a letdown for me. I don't like how choppy it is. I would have rather had full synth of the melody than a choppy version.

Sirea 19th April 2011 06:55 AM

^ For me it was because it felt like the first bit of contrast on the album so it caught my attention and made me listen. Because each song flows into the next, it's easy to just let it go into the background a bit, but when something changes you're like "Oooh."

NintendoHTF1242 19th April 2011 07:04 AM

Acoustic Orchestra > Trance >>>>> HOUSE

I'll rate Eurobeat later, haven't downloaded it yet. The remixes on HOUSE last a bit too long for my liking.

SPEAKERnight. 19th April 2011 07:17 AM

I haven't really listened to anything other a sample of the HOUSE and AO albums. I downloaded those two and are loving them so far. I've tried to get into the Ayu-ro game, but didn't enjoy the first one, is getting this one worth it?

Aderianu 19th April 2011 07:49 AM

ayu trance >>>>>>>>> House >>>> ayu-ro mix
I can't stand ayu-ro mix %)

acoustic Hanabi sounds too close to original version

Sirea 19th April 2011 07:52 AM

One thing I am noticing just from hearing trance and most of AO, and this goes for most remixes and bugs me a bit, is that because the instrumentation is completely rearranged and in this case entirely reimagined, arrangers tend to actually change bits and parts of chord progressions. So if you know a song, you think the music's going in one direction and it veers off a bit from what you're expecting and it's a little jarring.

But it's not as bad once you get used to each remix. ^^

pommy48 19th April 2011 07:53 AM

Eurobeat>Acoustic Orchestra>Trance>House

I've always loved her eurobeat remixes, but I'm surprised at how much I love this one!

non3ko 19th April 2011 07:59 AM

I like them all! Well a few of the tracks I could do without but I love the House cd the most.

well put!

ayu-fan 19th April 2011 08:16 AM

the acoustic orchestra isn't what i expected :o it has some unique and beautiful sounds in it but sometimes the melody kinda off. It's a hit and miss for me :/

Mirrorcle Monster 19th April 2011 08:23 AM

The HOUSE and trance albums have been a great surprise for me. I don't like remoxes, but those ones are great, specially because they keep the original harmony of the song (i hatw those extra long remixes that do what they want with the original)

starry night 19th April 2011 08:34 AM

I love them all, but damn, the Eurobeat just pwns all the others. I loooove her eurobeat albums and this is just a joy to listen.

Picaflor 7/4 19th April 2011 08:56 AM

^well, basically a remixer is given a vocal track and is told to "make a song of it". That's what they do, remixes aren't supposed to, generally, sound like the original. They're re-mixed, mixed over again to make something new.

pride123 19th April 2011 09:03 AM

I liked only few songs:

-version HOUSE-
fairyland (Hex Hector remix) - 8/10
Bold & Delicious (Dub's Standard House remix) - 9/10

ayu-ro mix 4
STEP you (Morris Capaldi versus ayumi hamasaki rmx) - 8.5/10
INSPIRE (AKBK 'valle blanco' remix) 8.5/10
Free & Easy (Plum mix) - 9/10

ayu trance 4
Greatful days (DJ JOKER vs HEAVENS WiRE Remix) - 8.5/10

-version Acoustic Orchestra-
sorry, none at the moment, trying to let them grow on me. >_>

-LIMITED COMPLETE BOX SET- bonus disc
For My Dear... (HOUSE NATION remix) - 9/10
HANABI (Arranged by Shingo Kobayashi) - 9/10

i feel like many of the songs are way too bland and lack any personality. it is very hit and miss, just a bit more on the miss side though imo.

agreed! not many songs grow on me because some are just bland or lack or anything personality. >_> but still the best remix series than the previous one.

DA1SUK1DAY01691 19th April 2011 11:13 AM

I think a positive or negative review hinges on your opinion of the genre before going into it—like a little pre-judging, per say.

I'm a huge fan of the AOVs, and this album does not disappoint at all. I was prepared for cut-and-dry versions that have been done before, but I was thoroughly impressed at how fresh everything sounds so far.

Can I just say, the intro to "Kanariya" is absolutely mind-blowing for some odd reason?

(I'll get to the other albums as they finish downloading. I'm looking forward to seeing if they flow well. :))

gogirlanime 19th April 2011 12:06 PM

I'm working on an in-depth review of the albums, for me they BLEW ME OUTA THE WATER. They put all previous remix series to shame, this is her absolute best yet!!!

hanabi2 19th April 2011 12:34 PM

wish there were new vocals~ at least for few songs~

C+R+E+AYUMI 19th April 2011 12:35 PM

just listened to House and Acoustic..i second they're absolutely the best remixes

amorphose 19th April 2011 12:52 PM

Favorites are:
Rule from ayu trance 4
Moments from Acoustic Orchestra
Mirrorcle World from version HOUSE
talkin' 2 myself from ayu-ro-mix 4

I love the arrangements for the AOVs!
I'll post a more complete opinion when I get home. :)

isthisLOL? 19th April 2011 01:03 PM

I only listened to the acoustic and trance versions so far, which are my favorite types of remix, and I gotta say BOTH are my fav volumes of that kind Ayu did so far! Orchestra even tops MY STORY Classical!!!

Nu-NRG 19th April 2011 01:18 PM

I am extremly happy with ayu-mi-x 7 in general and it puts all the previous ayu-mi-xes to shame!! Though ayu trance 4 is a let down and I had high expectations but it's alright...not good but not bad either.

I am really impressed with ayu-ro 4, AO and even house especially for the house version since I don't listen to house music in general (trance all the way).

O...I love the new arrangement for a lot of the songs from the acoustic orchestra album (forgiveness, love ~destiny~, kanariya) I've never like the original of those but ...omg I love the album so much :love

BlackSilence 19th April 2011 01:24 PM

I totally love orchestra version well thera are a couple of songs that I don't like but it made me fall in love with some songs I never liked like forgiveness, hanabi, kanariya, blue bird.. I totally love the aragement for NEVER EVER and Evolution...

will be checking Ayu-ro-mix in an hour won't really bother for other remix albums, since I don't listen neither to house or trance..

toniayu 19th April 2011 01:49 PM

one word...AMAZING
i wasn't a really fan of ayu-ro-mix albums but now i really love this album glitter, talkin' 2 myself...are really amazing, abut the acoustic orchestra...wow is so beautiful!!the house and trance are really, really good albums.my rank of favorites:
1.acoustic orchestra
2.ayu-ro mix
3.ayu trance
4.version house
but this is the 1st time i listen so much ayu remix album, they're amazing,i love it

ayumisrael 19th April 2011 02:07 PM

4. -version HOUSE- - Surprisingly it was not as bad as I thought it would be, I could really like half of it, usually more than the average ayu-mi-x/house versions like -GOLD- & -SILVER-.
Highlights: Dearest, For My Dear..., Mirrocle World, Voyage

3. -version Acoustic Orchestra-
Highlights: HANABI, Moments, kanariya, Trust (I really like the jazz arrangement! It made it into a new song!), You were... forgiveness and LOVE ~Destiny~ (I love it more than the original!!)

2. presents ayu trance 4
Highlights: Far away, MOON, SEASONS, monochrome, Endless sorrow, Greatful days, vogue

1. presents ayu-ro mix 4
Highlights: STEP you, glitter, SURREAL, Sunrise ~LOVE is ALL~, Fly high, Startin', talkin' 2 myself, INSPIRE, Free & Easy, Depend on you.

AyuGAME 19th April 2011 02:13 PM

Ayu need to make accoustic orchestra concert...everything is so awesome!!!
evolution is soooooo amazing...
forgiveness...omg...omg...so beautiful...

AYU PLEASE MAKE ACCOUSTIC ORCHESTRA CONCERT!!!

BlackSilence 19th April 2011 02:23 PM

^ I second this! and she should make an album of only orchestra songs, new songs...

also to add to my earlier comment, not impressed much with ayu-ro-mix though there's a few songs that i can actually listen...

TITANIC 19th April 2011 02:31 PM

So far the best for me is Acoustic orchestra. HANABI is flawless,
Evolution sounds like a classical superman theme. love it.
and Forgiveness the best among all the tracks.

the 2nd is Trance. love it better than 3 previous trance albums
3rd will be House remix, I like mirrorcle world.
the least is Eurobeat. I think this genre no longer attract listerners. it's kinda old style

fanayutic 19th April 2011 02:42 PM

^ agreed agreed. i love HANABI and forgiveness. As for the rest in the ao album, it's quite alright. But You were... kinda annoyed me. the melody is not what i had expected lol.

I love the eurobeat album; I know for sure that I am attracted by the awesome sound. ^__^

relmy 19th April 2011 04:25 PM

A little disappointed by the AO, I really like it, it's just not as good as ayu-mi-x IV, which I adore. It's only beaten by IV though, it's better than the earlier three, so I think disappointment is the wrong word, because I really did enjoy it. Just don't think it's the best. Nevertheless, I love the LOVE ~Destiny~ mix. It's stunning, and I hate the original.

ayu-ro mix is surprising, I don't know anything about Trance, Euro or House, but this album is my favourite. I love the Fly High and Startin' mixes~ so energetic. I like the Trance album too. Don't like the House one, it feels really bland. I guess I just don't like the style.

same here. I really would have preferred something different. like, even something really epic like the evolution orchestra version would have fit better. I'm really disappointed that You were... had to wind up being one of the weakest on that album :( I have been craving an orchestra version since You were... was first released and this is not the type I wanted/imagined.

I love the forgiveness mix too but while listening I got confused a couple times and thought it was just the original song playing lol.
I prefer Moments orchestra to the original song now <3 It's so beautiful.

freedreamer 19th April 2011 05:17 PM

So far Im hearing presents ayu-ro mix 4
I LOVE the ayu-ro mix 2 and 3. THIS ONE IS JUST AMAZING!!! I love the continuous eurobeat sound. My favs are STEP you, glitter, SURREAL, Startin', INSPIRE (OMGAWD), talkin' 2 myself (YES YES THE BRIDGE *squeals* >.<), FREE & EASY (woow..what a new sound!), Depend on you (funny to end with her old vocals..but STRONG SOUND OMG)

gonna listen and comment more tomorrow..but DAMN I LOVE THE NEW REMIXES OF ALL HER HITS OF HER 50 SINGLES! >.< really appreciate these works

Zeke. 19th April 2011 05:22 PM

Didn't listen to You were... in full yet but I liked it a Hell of a lot better than the original. The chorus is actually bearable in this version.

kotora 19th April 2011 05:23 PM

it should have "ayu-mi-x 7 -Again-" for the songs we wants to have remixes with all of these awesome remixers.

channy 19th April 2011 05:30 PM

I really LOVE ayu-mi-x 7 as a whole :)

...even ayu-ro mix 4, which is superb.

kiseki89 19th April 2011 05:38 PM

just started listening to the songs...
currently listening to STEP you (Morris Capaldi versus ayumi hamasaki rmx).. and i love it

noisy_harmony 19th April 2011 05:57 PM

I've never been a fan of remixes, so I won't say anything about trance, house and ayu-ro versions. Though I like Far away (Alex M.O.R.P.H. Extended rmx) and MOON (Clokx remix).

ACOUSTIC ORCHESTRA IS SO GOOD GOD. Some versions are as great as originals or even better (Moments, kanariya, LOVE 〜Destiny〜)! AND I'M INSANELY HAPPY BECAUSE MY FAVORITE SONG AKA FORGIVENESS WAS ARRANGED PERFECTLY :heart I was positively surprised by the innovative arrangements for NEVER EVER, Trust and AUDIENCE, but all songs have interesting instrumentals. Bravo for arrangers! The only mixes I didn't liked is WHATEVER (too funeral-like to me), BLUE BIRD (I'd like more calm and gentle arrangement, not a typical orchestra one) and You were... (the same problem like with BB, too noisy). If I had to choose favorite - HANABI. This album is going to be on repeat for a long time~ Such a flawless quality material. I needed something like this since Ayu's music got boring for me lately. These versions made me fall in love with her songs again~

toniayu 19th April 2011 07:23 PM

for me,now the version house is growing and the ayu-ro is losing importance...

hightea_xx 19th April 2011 09:35 PM

i felt that the house and trance versions were weaker this year than in the past... i loved trance 2 and 3, so maybe it's hard to compare, but 4 felt a bit lacking. still like it though, just not as much...

house side was... so so. definitely doesnt compare to ayu-mi-x 4 (which is like my holy grail).

i was most surprised by the AO album... usually am not fond of them, but they did an excellent job rearranging the pieces! some of these tracks are definitely going to make it into the ipod (which really doesn't happen at all!!!)

channy 19th April 2011 10:03 PM

It's crazy. At first I complained about all the older songs in the ayu trance 4 tracklist and now I must admit, songs like poker face, monochrome, Far away and SEASONS are the highlights of this album :O

I just love ayu trance 4.

Sirea 19th April 2011 10:28 PM

Ohmygodyouguys.

The eurobeat is just SO GOOD. Honestly I never even knew what was meant by eurobeat before because I never really listened to it. Then my boyfriend let me listen to Ayu-ro-mix in the car to and from school today, and I'm like... holy damn, it's Ayu meets DDR or Sonic or something.

I love the living crap out of it. <3333

Okay I've basically gotten through most everything now so here's the rest of my opinions:

HOUSE is completely decent and listenable. I have no problem with it, save for one. I think Virgin Road should not have been remixed. It's such a nice, sentimental song, with very real meaning in Ayu's life. It almost seems like the remix cheapens that. I don't know. :/

Trance is also quite good. The songs are for the most part faster and more energetic than those on HOUSE, but I sort of think that's just a characteristic of the two genres. Save for that, there's not a ton of difference between HOUSE and trance, yeah, shoot me. Not saying this is necessarily bad, but they're just pretty similar. *shrugs* Take that how you will. vogue's remix was wonderful, but I thought CAROLS was a bit strange. Whatevs.

AO I thought was really good, and different from how I expected. One thing that stuck out to me was the sort of jazzy arrangement of Trust, and the other arrangements by Akimitsu Homma. They're very unusual in comparison to the rest, but quite nice. I enjoyed it all thoroughly.

And Eurobeat. Enough. Said. <3

Overall, if I may rate, I'd give this entire release a 10. I was not in any way disappointed. Then again, this being my first Ayu-mi-x (*ducks*) I didn't know what to expect, so I had a very open mind. I'm impressed. ^_^

Kanzaki 19th April 2011 11:49 PM

The thing for me about Eurobeat is that too much is going on, it sounds very noisy and it reminds me of parapara. It's too hectic. I can listen to it for short amounts of time and be liking it, but I just have to turn it off after a few songs.

HOUSE is a bit boring, it's the only one of the 4 albums where I'm still searching for a definite favorite. The appears mix seems to be that one, but I'm not sure. I wish they'd gone a little more 'crazy' with the HOUSE mixes.

Kazeyomi 20th April 2011 12:10 AM

Today I listened to the whole Trance album:

I never been a huge fan of trance music, but Trance is overall really really good. I never thought how trance music can be so various and good to hear. I'm impressed :D lol.
I enjoyed the whole album :yes and maybe it would be my second favourite ayu-mix- 7 album, after AOV!

Next album Eurobeat!

It's really good for high-paced exercising though!

Pieces_of_SEVEN 20th April 2011 12:39 AM

trance = perfection
euro = cute and fun, don't mind it
house = love some tracks, dislike others
AO = complete waste of time.

butterfly_ayu 20th April 2011 01:25 AM

For AO, I didn't like anything from trust to you were... o.0, but the last two tracks saved me from hating on that album. forgiveness and love~destiny~ were fabulous! <3 the first half was not bad as well, kanariya really surprised me. i'll probably give AO a B+ still <3, because i never liked ayu's other acoustic orchestra albums that much.
House was okay. Love the first five tracks and the last two (just like AO, I had no idea why). My favorite is definitely fairyland. The rest aren't bad, i got a little bored half-way through the album though.
I'm right now 2 tracks away from finishing euro, I have a feeling it may be my least favorite of the four. STEP you a great start off for the album, but I didn't like the next four tracks very much. & I like the rest, especially INSPIRE and startin'

I agree so hard with you. I despise You were... but the AOV is great.

love in music 20th April 2011 02:10 AM

seriously? I really think the chorus is the worst part of the AO version of You were...
it completely strips it of the epicness the original song has.
well, just another reason for me to love and appreciate the original song by comparing it to that.

Kanzaki 20th April 2011 02:18 AM

^
Don't need to remind anyone here that taste is the most relevant thing, but yeah. I loved both the original and this ver. The chorus especially. The little chimes and barely audible flute and just the instruments in general were perfect to me. It wasn't super mellow or epic, but it was a nice mix and very well made imo.

My problem with You were... is that the chorus gives this feeling of trying to be epic but fails. It's just like she's shouting and you get the sense this is supposed to be an important part but it just doesn't come off well. It's really forced and that's why I cannot stand it.

koumori 20th April 2011 02:30 AM

I love them all. :weep I don't know..I've been losing interest in Ayu for a while, but this has just, reminded me of all the memories I have for her older tracks, the nostalgia was overwhelming. I felt also, like I was listening to her songs for the first time. Perfection. I sound like a stan I know, but I'm so happy I love these albums. If they'd been disappointing, I would of felt like crying. :laugh

Worth the wait.

^^'stan' doesn't pertain to ayu at all. lol

waterballoon 20th April 2011 04:06 AM

OMG I LOVE EUROBEAT AND TRANCE SFM

HOUSE was.. boring, AOV was decent but some songs were horrible.. like Trust. I mean some arrangements were too jazz/lounge for me lol

But damn EUROBEAT and TRANCE :heart

Awh no, it's cool someone feels the same as me :yes

And "stan" isn't actually "Ayu lingo", it's a general term to mean someone who refuses to say or think anything that makes their chosen idol - such as Ayumi - is anything but godlike.

eg. "SHE CAN NEVER DO WRONG. ANYONE WHO DOESN'T LIKE HER IS AN IDIOT." blah blah blah ;)

ll moments ll 20th April 2011 08:45 AM

can i talk about how flawless the "kanariya" AOV is? it. is. amazing.
and i love the AOV of "forgiveness" as well. :heart

i listened to ayu-trance 4. it's pretty good. love the new "Far away" remix! :D

i haven't listed to HOUSE or ayu-ro yet.

YES! I mean..i miss Ayu's voice, new songs and all that. It's kinda been a while actually and i havent been listening to her until now...suddenly all the songs from the 50 singles she has released..it feels really..epic that they are remade and re-released (an effort i truly appreciate now). i honestly didnt care for remix albums..because i noe im gonna get over it pretty soon but maybe not this time :P

C+R+E+AYUMI 20th April 2011 10:05 AM

Just one complaint: i expected more new songs...i mean. songs from the latest releases such as RNRCircus songs....

Seiferz 20th April 2011 11:22 AM

I up 98% of level listen to all of her new 4 remix album ~ :)

ownsarai 20th April 2011 11:43 AM

All that I have heard so far I really enjoyed. Nothing bored me, and nothing really blew me away just yet. I haven't gotten a chance to listen to them all yet, going to finish later today and post again with some favorites, besides the ones that were already leaked and listened to. :P

I haven't heard the AO version yet, but I like the way she sang You were... in the orgel (sp?) version!

Exactly one song of every single was remixed, she used to release more singles so there's many old songs.

A-TeensFan 20th April 2011 04:55 PM

KANARIYA AO is WICKED!!! I actually can't believe how good it is, very haunting & depressing!

ayu_ready? 20th April 2011 05:44 PM

overall love this new series
Like House and of course ayu-ro-mix the most
ayu-ro-mix is the best out of all

dissapointed with Acoustic Version

of course best remixes are from 2000-2001

at least I like the choice of songs remixed, I'm glad there are more old songs :)

the best acoustic abum EVER is MY STORY Classical, I hoped back then Ayu held a concert for this :D

tokyoxjapanxfan 20th April 2011 07:46 PM

I'm glad so many people like kanariya :love

It's my favorite from the AOV :heart

Zeke. 20th April 2011 07:47 PM

Yes kanariya is beautiful. I love the piano in the beginning. Well the whole song is superb actually but it starts out so haunting.
