another version of Sweet Season PV???
|
ehhhhhh........
|
Um.. interesting...!
|
What the... where did they get it from!?!?!?
Even the mixing of the song sounds different!! Wow, thank you! |
what the hell? :D
definitely more interesting but the acting is still so bad, wish they used less stiff children or at least made them more Ayu-friendly, you can almost expect Ayu to hit some invisible wall at any time, like she's been copy-pasted there. |
Maybe it's a parent of one of the kids who uploaded a version which the parents got home? =P
|

Well, I can definitely understand why they did not release this, it's even worse than the normal edit. Some horrible shots, the kids look even more bored and out of place...the couch scene really wasn't good... |
I like this version, yes it's more ... flat than the official one, but i don't understand why they hid it .
|
I love this ver more than the official one. But still.. Ayu looks so awkward with the kids. I don't know which one looks awkward more. the kids or Ayu :shrug
|
wth!!! INTERESTING
|
Ayu is soooo beautiful.
Anyhow this is so interesting. I wonder if other PVs like this exist! |
That's interesting o__o' I'd like to have audio rip of that version.
|
Can somebody rip it before they take it down? This is definitely a rare collectible.
|
I like this one a lot better to be honest, though they still should have kept the part where she wakes up quiet like the did in the one that was released. I thought Ayu looked like she was genuinely having fun with those kids, probably helping them sing the song. ^^
^And I second tasking's request, I'd love to have this since it was never officially released. |
I'm uploading a rip of the video(website quality, not lower) to download right now but for an mp3 rip...gotta do it yourselves or find someone else to do it.
|
^You are awesome~!
|
DAMNNN!!!!!! Those two kids who sit on the couch with Ayu are so lucky, I envy 'em:(
|
^Indeed! :(
|
This PV never fails to make me smile xD Just had to say that.
And yeah, I can totally see why that couch scene was cut... o_O That made me feel awkward just watching it. Also the final scene and the drop into the pool were done much better in the official version, needless to say. But wow... the existence of this video is really interesting. And definitely rare. Dammit, Keoni's parents, they don't know how lucky they are to have their kid star in this "Japanese pop star"'s music video, AND to own a super rare director's cut of it XD |
Here's the website quality version for now:
http://www.multiupload.com/XTDZJN7HZQ Patiently waiting for isthisLOL's version ^^ |

|
Oh well, yay for having a mirror!
|

and did the children say "mum" when they entered the car? and yes, everyone start imagining ayu doing this with her own kids.. |
nice to see different cuts of ayus pvs :D the language barrier must have added some troubles with ayu and the children looking natural
________________________ for any clip mainly on youtube you can just go to keepvid.com and copy the address of the video, (works for this site too but same size and quality as the one already uploaded) and paste it were it says too and it will retrieve the download link for you mostly in mp4 and flv but it will be the highest quality that the video/clip was uploaded by the user. (there are other sites too but this is just one of them. savevid.com another good one) *also good to download the clips of her R'n'RC tour from youtube:P |
wow...i don't know why they hide it...
|
Lol, when Ayu pats the kids in the shoulder she looks funny XD
I like this version too~ I would love to be one of those kids! And I think the children look happy, especially Ayu's "own boy", it actually looks like he even enjoys to sing along with the lyrics. |
I never knew there was a different version
|
THis was interesting!
THanks for sharing it! |
whoa.. interesting!
this version has a more mellow and country arrangement... think more people are gonna hate it if this was the official "Sweet Season" haha |
^I think the original had the same country arrangements...I'm not sure if there was much difference from the original, to be honest.

Thanks for sharing this different version. Truth is, I love this song so much lol |
O.O GOD!! Nice find!
I prefer the version of the single but it's nice to see more Ayu video!!! |

|
I wonder if its even legal for them to put this up. My favorite part is when the kids are like 'Hi Mom!' and Ayu is just nodding and smiling, as awkward as could be, lol.
Thanks for sharing~ |
this is interesting! The couch part was so awkward. and yes, the kids look like little brats lol. the mix seems like a demo to me compared to the final version. lots of stuff missing in the instrumental there. however, it sounds nice.
|
HAHA YEA the couch part was kinda...awakward..the frame was too still..lol
but that aside, i thought some scenes were filmed reallllly nicely. it felt less messy somehow |
I like the dog.

wow...so rare to see another version of ayu PV...this one feel a little bit raw, although there is some scene that i like better than the original version. the arrangement of the song feels a little raw as well...but nice to hear different version of it
|
I actually like her voice in this version more than the original. She sounds so soothing.
|
one thing I hate about the video (either one) is the kids singing to the song. It looks akward as hell and they all have the "I don't know what I'm saying" expression on their faces. They just look like they're reading the lyrics off of big cue cards off camera.
Besides that though, not a bad video. |

Considering this video was never officially released, they most likelly didn't find it good enough... |
I can see why this wasn't the official version, but it's still cute nevertheless.

this is going to sound weird...but.. I'm like Sweet season's biggest hater! I think it's the worst song ayu ever released... yet, with this mix, and after seeing it live in AT10; there's something to it with this track :)
|
Wow great find!! I really liked this version. I think maybe even more than the DVD version!! The scene on the couch was really nice!!
|
Nice find!
I love how the dog is playing with the sprinkler XD |
I hate ayus ''mom outfit'' in this vid...it looks like something a ''mom'' would ear in an old movie when she is an unfit parent and know the social workers are coming to take her children so she uses a ''mom outfit'' to impress them...Doesnt seem like somthing normal i-love-my-kids mom would wear. If ayu had worn a different outfit the vid would have been better to me....as for the kids in the sofa...the boy actually looks like he is having fun singing the song. The girl is the one that looks extremly awkard. Like she cant wait for the whole shooting to be done with. XD
|
OMG! I don't know which version I prefer. Sweet Season's PV is always soo cute! :heart I know, may some kids could look awkward while they're singing.. but I still find it so lovely and cute :yes.
But the arrangements sound different to me o_o it's more countryish I guess. Nice find though! I never expected there was a different version of Sweet Season PV D: |
I really like this arrangement.
Interesting to see but the problems are present in both versions of the pv. Ayu needed to say hi back to the children to make it more natural and the children used either needed to be fluent in Japanese (unlikely!) or to not do the singing bit. Maybe even use Japanese children. If the children and set were styled more retro then Ayu's outfit would have worked more or she needed to be in a modern boho mum maxi dress or jeans or something more relaxed along those lines... |
I don't know why everyone finds the couch scene THIS awkward O_o
I find it touching, and tender. I totally can imagine Ayu with children ^_^ |
To be honest the sweet season video has always weirded me out. It's like, all of sudden Ayu has all these awkward caucasian children running around acting like she's their mom. Never understood it. XD
|
thanks for posting :) I think this version is a bit less boring than the original. it's interesting that this pv has another version to it. it will be so awesome if we can have alternate versions for other pvs as well xD

I think I prefer this version lol and even the song sounds better!
thanks!! :D |
remember this is all about a dream so its natural to appear awkward in a dream

It's the common representation of the perfect family.... |

^There were, and still are, Asian Americans. She wouldn't have had to change the mise en scene to accomodate a non-white family. You're probably right in that the white family communicates "American Nostalgia" to the Japanese audience better than an Asian American family would... but then again, that's what the rest of the mise en scene is for.
This whole video squicks me out, but the fact that there's an alternate version floating around is interesting. Nice find, OP. |
I think if the theme of the PV were just about family, there could have been Asian children. But the theme was the perfect American family, set probably in the 50's/60's/70's, which at that time was Caucasian families. It was a dream anyway.
|
wasnt there is...American Dream kinda thing going on...that retro effect? i guess thats why it was done there. I think the effect worked though? Yes awkward, but the idea to have it that way makes me appreciate the mv more. a normal japanese famiy would kinda...turn out like any other japanese mv.
and yea, it was a dream. a dream to have the perfect family. i wonder if ayu is thanking her mum, i mean....the dad practically doesnt even appear..cept the bbq...so...makes me wonder... |
wow thanks for sharing! Ayu shld get this released too. haha.
but seeing ayu with the 2 kids on the couch is indeed awkward. O_O |
Thanks for sharing!! I like this "retro effect" by the way....
|
I love how in the very beginning the kids whilst stepping in the car they say "Hi Mom!!!" and Ayu just nods xD It's like she's thinking "I am gonna go to the pool and drown you" xD This was fun <3 But I like the original PV -> it's an outside song!!!!
|
If blonde ayu with the curly hair had done this with asian kids, people would complain that it looked awkward because ayu was too "caucasian" for them and then it wouldn't have fit either way :P :P
|
I love the version of the song here. The instruments are a lot more distinct. The version we have on the album has this sheen/gloss over it. This sounds so much rawer.
As for the video, its nice to see a different take on the story, but the final edit we have is much better. Some of the scenes are just tacky, the constantly replaying of the kids jumping into the pool gets annoying. The ending doesn't have the impact it did in the final version. I found it interesting when Ayu wakes up, its not totally silent like in the final version. |
Finally got around to watching this, I didn't think it'd be like a completely different version from the official one. Such a great find! :D
Quote:
And the couch scene was pretty weird, I think if the girl looked a little more natural or willing to play the happy daughter role, it wouldn't have been so bad. The boy did a good job being a happy son. LOL. Singing along and smiling a bit. |
I just thinking, instead of just sitting near the pool, why not she's baking some cookies for the kids? It looks more "mom" I guess. It's just awkward to see her reading book that most moms are not reading when they watch over their kids :shrug
|
Lol. Good find
|
I wish the original for this was still up. Endless thanks to the parent that put it on Vimeo initially!
|
|
^Thanks!! I didn't even know about this until now. :D
|

I mostly wanted to be able to see the original uploader on Vimeo and what they had to say about the video. I kind of wish I preserved it back when this was uploaded, lol. Vimeo just taking it down without having the user information or the description there... at least we have the rough idea that it was a parent of one of the actors. Vimeo is strange for taking it down since there are a lot of other Ayu uploads there but I guess perhaps from the knowledge about it in the fandom, it got more attention? Also I wonder if someone from avex has ever snooped around here since Timmy and other staff members have made accounts here, lol. |
they probably deleted it because it's not an official version, lol
|
Yeah, could be. I wish they let it stay up though, who knows how many times the actors in the PVs got rough cuts of the songs/PVs and we just never saw it.
I love when we got the background of things like Shake It / NaNaNa from the stylist or someone posting about how they were an extra on my name's WOMEN and giving a lot of neat details. Same for 1 LOVE! |
^I want to read those details!

I translated some of her post she did in a forum, her name is Esther and she's from Spain but at that time she was just living in Japan: "I didn't have to do anything, there was no such a thing as a casting. My agency sent models pictures to Ayumi and she directly selected the girls she wanted to make an appearance in the video." "The first day of shooting I brought with myself the first Ayumi CD I purchased 4 years ago, but the rules were so strict that I wasn't allowed to ask her for a sign." I remember there was a thread here but I couldn't find it |
^ that's so interesting! thanks
|
Thanks for that! Love reading those details!
|
I think both stories were not here, they were at Jpopmusic forum. At the time, I think some acts found that first over this one. Since that forum restructured, a lot of old stuff was lost.
It looks like Esther did not delete the post but it was somehow lost over time and she didn't realize it till later. She seems to mention in a post that she went to go look for an old mochi post but it was not there along with the Ayu PV post as well. |
