After School, The Story

Debuting initially as a 5-member group (Kahi, Jung-Ah, Soyoung, Jooyeon, Bekah)
with their debut single "AH" in January 2009, they were labeled as the Korean Pussycat Dolls
for the matured and sexy concept they had taken on.
In April 2009, After School released a digital single titled "DIVA" and introduced a new member "U-ie" into the group,
as part of After School’s admission and graduation concept. Later in October 2009,
member "Yoo So Young" announced her withdrawal from the group citing health and studies reasons.
At the end of the same month, After School admitted two new members "Raina" & "Nana" into the group
November 25th, 2009 they made a comeback with 2nd Single Album "Because of You"
March 25th, 2010 After School released 3rd Single Album "BANG!" together with the addition of new member "Lizzy"
making After School a 8-member group now.
A new member was added in late 2010, Lee Young.

After School will be making their first release in Japan. This will be a collaboration between them and Japanese legend Namie Amuro titled "Make It Happen".
A teaser for the PV was released on February 18, 2011. The PV features new member Lee Young, but see's rapper Bekah missing, due to her vacation occuring when the PV was recorded.

Their first full album is released on 27th april, titled "Virgin"

i kinda like the vocals in the original when i fall more :x but the guitars and drums are really nice :heart

Sorry to be a negative Nancy here, but the album is insanely disappointing. It's almost all ballads, and all the new upbeat songs aren't anything special either. Shampoo and Virgin could definitely grow on me, but I know I'll never like them nearly as much as any of the past singles. I'm really not happy with this release.

C'MON KOREA. First 4minute's sucky first album and now this (slightly better, but much more anticipated) one :'(

I'm not a fan of ballads but this album, my god, it's awesome.
I dunno if anyone cares but I wrote a short review :D

Let's Step Up: AWESOME INTRO, AWESOME SONG. The tap dance is amazing :yes I really hope they will perform the tap dancing live.
Shampoo: Not what I was expecting. For some reason, this song has to grow onto me a little more before I can say that this song is awesome. I think it's because it's different from other title songs, it's a more relaxing song :yes But I like it and the lyrics are awesome.
Virgin: Awesome song. Although I was hoping for a fierce rap part. Oh well :D
Bang! (2011 New Recordings): The new recordings sound nice. Their voices are clearer as well :yes The music is slightly different too. I love this song. (Then again, Bang! is probably my favorite AS song)
Play Ur Love: I love this ballad. It's beautiful.
Dream (feat. Yoon Jo): This is such a nice song. *dances*
Because of You (2011 New Recordings): :luv2: :luv2:
Leaning Against Time (Raina Solo): I really love Raina's voice, she has a beautiful voice. This song is so sweet and nice, I like it.
Are you doing okay: omg, their voices are so beautiful in this song. I love it.
Funky Man (Nana & Lizzy) (feat. Kyung Min): WOOOOO~~~~ YEAH~~~~ This song is funky~ Absolutely awesome song. I'm not really good in telling voices apart so I was wondering who is singing at 1:40 because that part sounds awesome.
My Bell (Jung Ah solo): Of course, it's a ballad. xD Just like Raina's voice, I really like Jung Ah's voice in this song. Nice song. Not my favorite, but it's nice.
When I Fall (2011 New Recordings): This song is a gift from heaven. The new music sounds awesome. The drums are so nice omg.... I love it.

Score: 5/5 :yes And because it's After School, I'll forgive them for the many ballads on this album :laugh Oh and I was hoping for more rap parts.

^Me too, I want some live tap dancing.

Here are a few things I noticed in the MV:

- Raina is so damn cute
- 0:16, did you notice E-Young's picture?
- Have you noticed that in the beginning only Kahi and Jung Ah are nice to Raina?
- 0:51 Bekah is doing the split
- 1:12 and 1:40 (especially 1:40) are priceless
- 1:29: BEKAH SINGING~~ You go girl
- 2:13: Nana's height
- 2:55: E-Young's little solo dance, so hopefully this will be the real choreography
- 3:22: Nana rapping?!
- 4:23: I think Kahi looks absolutely beautiful in these shots
- 4:32: UEE rapping?!

Very random... sorry.
I just love it how sweet Jung Ah and Kahi are in this MV.

I totally agree! I love AS first three single albums and digital singles, but this full album is definitely not what i expected (same situation with full albums by 4minute and f(x)) :(
