Cover pictures are awesome, but the white V pulls centre focus, and it shouldn't. Especially in that ugly font.

The font looks like a cheap paint job. For an artist like Ayumi, who has used such excellent fonts in the past, it downright embarrasing. This almost rivals Sunrise ~love is all~ in terms of bad font. Lucky for her the pictures make up for it, but they are not the focus with that white V sticking out.
I'm referring to the FIVE here - the 'ayumi hamasaki' font is quite nice. |

I really want to love the covers because she looks so hot, but the gray background is killing it for me. If it had been practically any other color, it wouldn't have looked so bland. >_< But I am really glad that, for the first time in a long time, the covers aren't spoiled by some type of alien, duck, creepy doll, I'M TRYING SO HARD TO BE CUTE OwO, etc. face (like R'n'RC, Sunrise/Sunset, MOON/blossom, etc.) But the covers don't seem to have anything to do with the music AGAIN, like crossroad and others. It reminds me of what someone said in that other thread about her current releases lacking a general atmosphere. I mean the covers are bad ass, super hot Ayu but the mini album is full of ballads.
tl;dr I like the covers but I don't love them. |

Actually the font works very well on the cover. And it's understandable. As much as a font looks amazing it must be readable.

It's pretty much what Kazeyomi said... A good font is a readable font.
If a font is readable and aesthetically fits the visual composition, that's it... This time, it is both readable and fits the aesthetical theme of the cover. |

I think this font is perfect for the cover - first thing I thought was "wow, nice font! very fitting" - any other kind of font with this would seem to overpowering. Be happy it's not the same font that was used for Koda Kumi's FREAKY single or the boring font that was Love Songs. :rolleyes

I really like the font on the CD-only, but I feel like it's distracting and weird on the CD+DVD. Though I hate the way that one is cropped in general, so yeah. :laugh
