But yeah, I just barely discovered Ellie this morning & I'm totally in love with her music! She has a very unique voice as well as style imo. I would describe her as being synonymous to electro-pop, in a way....someone even described it as 'folktronica' :o. Her first album apparently came out in Britain some time ago, but was only released in the US in March of this year. Either way, she has released a butt load of videos so check 'em out! They're actually some of the best tracks on the album, although I find basically all of them amazing :heart.

She also did a cover of Elton John's 'Your Song'...it's so beautiful!!!



It's so hard for me to pick a fav...they're all really good songs. So does anybody else like her??? :D

I like her. I love most of her songs but my fave is probably The Writer.

omg I remember listening to her because Picaflor posted the "Lights" re-release cover and I fell in love with how gorgeous that cover was...I think I liked her music, can't recall XD

i heard "Every Time You Go" on a TV show and downloaded her "Lights" album. it's great! :)

Whenever I listen to Little Dreams, I think of that BAFTA clip when Harry Potter won for Outstanding Contribution to British Film, or something of the sort.

I love Ellie! I'm totally addicted to "Guns and Horses" at the moment. :)

I love when she says 'I would I would I would' though. I think my favorite song from her is either Wish I Stayed or Your Biggest Mistake. I am soo in love with her cover of Your Song though...you can really tell she has vocal talent when you listen to that song :yes.

I got into her because of her cover of Sweet Disposition.

So has anyone gotten a chance to hear her new ablum, Halcyon? It just came out here yesterday. I bought it on iTunes with very high expectations, and I'm a tad bit disappointed. It doesn't have the charm & edginess that Lights had. In fact, I feel like 95% of the tracks are in the same key & have the same over all musical structure. Don't get me wrong, it's by no means a terrible album, & there are a few epic tracks (such as Anything Can Happen, Hanging On, My Blood, Figure 8, Joy), but it was kind of slow for my taste. Also, I can't help but get a very strong Florence & the Machine vibe from this album. There's just something about those epic strings that just scream Florence & the Machine lol.
Another thing, I don't see why they included Lights on this album! It was on both the UK & US version of the previous album so wtf..? :rolleyes

To be fair, I have only really listened through the album once, so my opinion will probably change with a few more listens. No matter what though, I will always prefer Lights. That album was pure gold.

i honestly LOVE Halcyon. i think it's a very strong 2nd album. i think i have a very strong connection because of the lyrics, especially with the title track. i think she always hits the spot with that. however, i do think the later half of the album is a bit weaker than the first part. i enjoy the bonus tracks too.

idk, i'm really easy person to please tho (and i DLed the leak immediately, so i had time to digest everything) :laugh

Figure 8 is amaaaazing. i think it's my fave.

I haven't listened to the whole album yet, but I'm obsessed with "My Blood." I do agree that there is some Florence + the Machine vibe up in here though.

It's amazing how different Halcyon sounds compared to Lights. Halcyon sounds like the music Ellie wants to do, while Lights sounds like the music her company wanted her to do. idk how to describe it lol.

Anything Could Happen is my jam right now, I love it in CD quality. The radio does it no justice.

I was disappointed at first listen with Halcyon, but then I went back and listened to it the next day...holy crap, I was just blown away. It really is incredible. My Blood is easily one of my favorite tracks off the album, but I love the album as a whole. :luv2 Ellie has yet to disappoint!

Same here. :yes I haven't had much time to really digest the album but that track really stands out for me.

My favorite tracks are
-My Blood
-Anything Could Happen (those instrumental breaks are to die for)
-Only You
-Figure 8 (tremendous song omg)
-Joy (I love it when the song picks up on the beat)
-Explosions

The other songs are pretty good, but not as memorable as those songs. But still very enjoyable to listen to.

I still need to listen to the album, but I loved almost all tracks on Bright Lights so my expectations are pretty high~

I love Halcyon! Anybody who hates Don't Say A Word is stupid.

Halcyon Days came out in 2013 if I recall, so it's quite old. But right now, I'm obsessed with Ellie again. She's been doing a lot of songs for soundtracks which include

Love Me Like You Do - Fifty Shades
Mirror - Hunger Games: Catching Fire
Beating Heart - Divergent
Bittersweet - Twilight: Breaking Dawn - Part 2

And so on, Mirror is flawless by the way; as well as Love Me Like You Do. I'm excited for her third album, whenever it comes out. I used to like that song "Burn" till the radio overplayed it x_X

^I really liked ''Love me like you do'' up until I found out that it was used for the Fifty Shades movie. I hate the series and how weirdly obsessive people got over it and Ellie could do much better.:(

On the upside I guess she got a lot of exposure for it which is good.

On other news she appeared on Taylor Swift's new music video for ''Bad Blood''. She doesn't sing on the video or anything but it's pretty cool seeing her there.

I disagree with Fifty Shades for different reasons, but I still love Ellie's song regardless. The entire soundtrack is pretty good. Just wish it wasn't for such a shitty-themed film.

Her cameo was cute! But ugh I wish Ellie would just make her third album already.

They said it would be sometime in 2015 but that could mean anything from this summer (I wish) to december 30,2015.:no


Or even worst....what if.....what if we later on get the news that the album will be postpone till 2016? I don't think I can go that long without a new album from her.:tired

New song is out! It's called "On my mind" and frankly I don't like it. I don't hate it but I can already tell that it will be a song I will skip when lisening to the new album.

On My Mind isn't bad but compared to how ethereal the Halcyon album was... It's pretty disappointing. Excited for the album though, girl knows how to have a big ass track list lol

I'm not feeling anything at all for this album. The last two were great. But I listened to the new song, forgot its name already, and I dont even have an opinion.

Love Me Like You Do and Outside are flawless though

Album is a HUGE step-back from Halcyon/Halcyon Days... I'm honestly pretty disappointed. It's a good pop album but it's a boring Ellie Goulding album, if you get what I mean. I need to give the entire thing a few more listens. Bless her heart for giving us 25 tracks though. Damn.

Let me listen to your recommended songs on spotify and instead spend my money on Kylie Christmas and 25.
