So, getting my A tattoo next week...

And I think I've decided to get it on my right shoulder, where ayu has her tattoo.

For a long time, I've always wanted just the A symbol, but now I'm wondering if I should get one of the A logos. I'm not sure.

Looking for opinions and pics guys :)

Thanks

Luja. 25th September 2011 04:43 PM

I think the A symbol itself is nice and not too big (in case you'd want to hide it).
If you want to get a whole logo, maybe choose the one from your favorite album / tour? The MY STORY key is always pretty, however I think many ayu fans have this one.
Please show us pictures after you got the tattoo ;).

pepper 25th September 2011 05:23 PM

I'm planning logo on my neck :)

Midori-chan 25th September 2011 05:26 PM

Oh, I've also always wanted to get an Ayu-tattoo! :smitten

If I ever get one, I'll go for this symbol (it's my favourite tour symbol so far!):

Just without the "10th" in the corner!
PLEASE share photos of your tattoo after you got it, ne?! :)

i'm getting the HOTEL LOVE SONGS logo in between my shoulders. :D

I would LOVE to get an Ayu inspired tatoo, but I'm way tooooo scared of neadles and stuff so I probably won't get a tatoo ever xD Please show us pictures of the finished tatoo though :)

xLuna&1LOVE 25th September 2011 06:11 PM

Not sure of anything? Simple: wait with it until you exactly know what you want. And when you have an idea, sleep about it at least for a couple of weeks.

Must say that the A-symbol is a pretty cool concept for a tattoo, but my personal opinion is that I think it's very standard for an Ayu-fan to do that. Nothing wrong with it, but where is our creativity to create another symbol that actually connect your personal self with Ayu? Well, if that's the A-Symbol for you, then never mind what I just said. But what you also can do is to pick a quotation from you favourite Ayumi song what really is -meant for- you. It also shows the real connection between fan and muse.
But it's whatever you want, Pieces_of_SEVEN. How do you want to show the world you totally admire Ayu?

I gave you advice. I do not think we should tell you what you have to do. Then it's not anymore your connection with Ayu, but ours.

Good luck

Pieces_of_SEVEN 25th September 2011 06:14 PM

I definitely want the A symbol. I've been thinking about it for years. I just know I've seen people in the past with different variations of it.

The 10th anniversary logo is nice, but very intricate. This is my tattoo, and maybe it's naive, but I'm afraid he'll mess up even the simple A symbol. Lol

HOTEL Love songs logo is also very intricate! Don't think that one is for me.

I think it's between the regular A, and the 10th anniversary logo.

Luja. 25th September 2011 06:45 PM

^ then I'd say first of all check all the works the tattoo guy has done before:laugh You have to be absolutely sure he knows what he's doing.
And like xLuna&1LOVE said, maybe tour or albums logos are not the ones for you but something that is inspired by yourself or your connection to her music? That can go either through lyrics or new symbols that are connected to the "A". Tattoo guys (I don't know their real name in English:laugh) are normally pretty creative people, too, maybe yours can help to come up with something.
For example a very nice friend I met at ayu's concert got a wonderful tattoo that incorporated the "A" in it. So it was personal, but with the "A". Very creative and personal, but still kind of a "fan" tattoo.

make sure you get a good tattoo artist! it's worth it to pay good money for somebody ink something that'll be on your skin for the rest of your life. i'm definitely not going to have some run of the mill artist for mine, and i'll prob end up paying a good amount for it.

afaik, they trace the tattoo that you want onto your skin and ask you if it looks okay before they start. all they have to do is trace and fill it in with the ink, so i don't think there's room to mess up. :D

Oh I so do agree with that. Also check if the tattoo artist has clean gear and works in good environment.

AyumiAi 25th September 2011 08:10 PM

^yes, its better if you can to pay more for a better tattoo artist, going cheap could mean regretting the way he did your tattoo for a long time!

id go with NEXT LEVEL arena tour logo. hehehe. i love stars! hihihi.

CZECHayu 26th September 2011 04:46 AM

oh that sounds so nice.
However If I may give you advice. You should really think about it. You need to be 100% sure that you want it and what exactly.

I got a great tattoo this year in Tokyo. It was my design and part of it is also a small Ayu logo. I love the whole think but it's because the man was really skilled and also nice.
You need to find someone skilled and who'll be able to discuss it with you and make it exactly as you want.

Jennie Mae 26th September 2011 05:12 AM

I have a standard A on my ankle, and I kind of like that it's not a specific logo or intricate design. Mostly because there are too many A logos that I love (MY STORY, 10th Anniversary and NEXT LEVEL are some of my all time favorites) and I know that if I had my way I would get all of them all over my body! So just the standard A was my compromise.
Also someday, when I'm not a preschool teacher, I want to get 'freedom' on my right wrist and 'love' on my left :)

Jason 26th September 2011 07:10 PM

I have the A MUSEUM A symbol on my wrist (without the 30). If you're deciding between a simple A or the 10th anniversary one I'd say the 10th anniversary one. It will look amazing =)

CZECHayu 26th September 2011 07:53 PM

for me, if i ever got a chance to have a tattoo, i think my first concern is the size of it.. not too big or too small.. then followed by the design of it then followed by where i want it to be..

I'm loving the HOTEL Love Songs logo but I'm not loving the album just as much. But then I'm reaaaally a sucker for ST02 so I get only good feelings after looking at that logo. One of my all time fav concerts. And OMG the Free & Easy performance :heart I might loose the sword though and put in something more "me".

And CZECHayu! Nice! You will probably be very proud with that one for a long time. I designed my tattoo too and I still love it to bits. Cuz I know noone else have the same either. :D

oh yes I like this because it's your personal thing. And there is also the small Ayu symbol. All the tattoo represents my visit of Japan this year. And there is the A symbol for the two Ayu's concerts I have attended.

TeddyGrahams 30th September 2011 12:18 AM

I'll say you should get a temporary tattoo first of the design you liked. I tried to get my ayu tattoo a few times on my back right shoulder as well, but I did the temporary thing and decided I dislike it after a day or two and it lasts for like 1-2 weeks. Right now, I'm still designing another with the help of my friend involving the A symbol + heart.

You could always pick a design that involves your life thingy. If you add in the A it would be obvious who is it meant for.

kumiko.koda 16th November 2011 06:09 AM

I was thinking of getting a tattoo like ayus on the right shoulder....

when I was in a tattoo shop 2 weeks ago to show it to them, they said that her tattoo must have been made from an amateur and that they won't make me one exactly like she has it....

they offered me to make me one that should be worked out better and with color in it, because they want me to become a good looking tattoo

I will go there this week to talk with them about the final design

seraphashes 16th November 2011 11:28 PM

Go for it, Pieces_of_SEVEN

I designed my Ayu inspired tattoo and had it done a few months ago. It took three sessions and a total of nearly ten hours, but I'm so happy with it. I took the A logo and the heart and wing idea that she has, but made my own design of it, and added in some colour. My name starts with an A too, and I love the colour yellow, so that's what I incorporated into it. I also tried to make a more masculine wing!! I think I achieved it.

But, anyway go for it, it'll be worth it!!

Here is mine:

Yes. I thought it was already somewhat healed after a week, but you gotta be careful. A tattoo is in the beginning an open wound; so if it gets infected you are screwed. Just be very hygienic, dont go swimming in a public pool for a few weeks or anything crazy. Let's say; 3-4 weeks :)

thank you

seraphashes 23rd November 2011 09:14 AM

Healing time depends on loads of factors, how well you look after it once it's done, how much you use that area of your body etc, and the skill of the tattooer. I had mine done over three sessions, each two weeks apart. I think two weeks is sort of average time, but mine healed up quicker than that. The guy who did mine was amazing, and I went overboard with the aftercare cream they gave me and literally every time I felt like I wanted to scratch it I just covered it in the cream, so I would advise using after care as much as you can. I found the healing really easy to deal with, the actual tattoo hurt a lot, but I think that's because lying still on a table for three hours at a time thinking about pain makes your body get so worked up. I was more exhausted than anything else after each session. But, so glad I did it!! Good luck with yours, kumiko.koda. What is your design going to be?

The dude who'd put my tattoo on my shoulder said you can wash your tattoo, but you should not rub it. Besides, it kind of hurts or is not really a pleasant feeling when you let the water fall on your tattoo in the beginning, I bet you don't even think about moisture haha.

What I did was holding my shoulder for short times under the water and using a clean towel to touch it gently. I did the same with drying the body; touch the tattoo gently. After a couple of days it will heal and the less you will feel it. Anyway, I guess your artist knows very well about everything. Don't be afraid to ask anything.

Oh yeah, you will get a salve (is that correct english) for healing the wound. It's just what I said. To bring it on; just touch your tattoo gently.

Here's mine, i think the tatoo guy made a great work, but i was scared...

Felt pain at start but then you get used and stop feeling pain. And have to be very careful after the tattoo... Don't scratch and THREE TIMES a day use vaseline to prevent big crusts and loose ink!

Wow, that's gorgeous! I love it :) This whole thread is a really great inspiration. I'm planning on getting an Ayu tattoo for my 21st birthday this year so it's helpful to see what everyone else has~

That tattoo is AMAZING! I still have yet to get mine. Been waiting for a friend to finish the design he wants, but he is slower than molasses, so I really need to go on my own.

I just can't decide how to do the tattoo.

I think I definitely want what the dude on the left has, but I want the other A, the main one. Not sure if I should also put MY initial in there somewhere, or what to do. Hm...

omg, this looks so great! Really, one of the best ayu tattoos I've seen yet.
And it's wonderful that it also has a double meaning for you, with your mother and ayu's music.:) I personally think it's important to personalize something you tattoo on your body.

Ugh I can only hope that when I finally get my ayu tattoo, that it comes out as perfect looking as yours did!

I can recommend to you the artist that did my tattoo if you willing to make the drive out here to Lancaster, I see that ur in Philly which is about 2hrs from here. He did a fantastic job as u can see and this is one of the nicest shops I've seen very clean and friendly.
