|
NICE! but she doesnt look like anything from the Duty era. hahaha. so ayu-modern.
|
DJ OZMA is so badass xD Love it lol
I died a little when Subaru got caught :( |
When was this filmed? It doesn't look like its from her Duty era.
|
2008 and 2009?
Days / GREEN long hair + NEXT LEVEL fringe |
COOOOOOOOL!!!
I hope she releases it in HD! :D |
This is cool!:)
|
What a babe - this should totes be released on her next best.
|
that thing looks like it would be Ayu's WoW character or something lol
but really, she looks nice. |
Oh Ayu, you're only about 11 years late on this.
|
Wow! I also hope that Ayu will release this or so the pachinko company?
Thanks for sharing! |
Oh my god dreams come true!!!!
|
a duty pv O.O omg awesome
|

This PV is flaaaaaawless, I hope she releases it someday, I loved it! It looks like Sucker Punch meets Final Fantasy, epicness overdose :luv2 |
Quote:
|
this is epicness!~!!!! what i wanted progress pv to be!!!!
thank you Ayu!! OMG i can't believe it so amazing!! :3 and totally random and unexpected |
oh my... so tacky xD
Thanks God it's not an official PV |
special PV for pachinko version, looks like "koda live in hall 2" (pachinko)
|
so cool!
|

|
i like the pv but i dont think it suits duty at all!! it should have been better for her rockier songs or end of the world.
|
It was really nice, but the dissonance originating from seeing modern day Ayu singing with old Ayu's voice was crazy. :tired Still, very cool. :)
|
Really cool pv, would be nice to see it in high quality!
|
i hope we can get the pv on a dvd, as bonus or first press at least.
And if the pv is a hidden PV on the Blu-ray of FIVE, lol XD, seriously, is a possibility. |
yay!!! that's awesome! Duty had always been one of my all-time fave ayu songs! I hope this will be up on her utube channel someday >.<
|
I hope someone will share download link for it, just link from this video please~~
|
Dude. Badass. :laugh
|
Uh, oh. Ayu's got her drama face on!
|
what the heck? I love it! I want it!
|
what?!?! ayu did a video for Duty and it's not released? -_-
|
If someone buys a pachinko machine they'll be able to rip the movie from the arcade board ^___^
|
hahaha One of ayu's best PVs =D
|
cool!
|
hoping for HD version
there is DJ Ozma there? and her dancer...very cool |
yeah~ who is afuro (= afro) man on this PV?
|
Quote:
|
lol I died @ DJ Ozma. That was just brilliant.
|
DJ OZMA? really? LOL~
|
I am complete love with this. I don't care if people think its tacky or doesn't fit the song. I LOVE IT! And having DJ OZMA in it was a complete bonus~
Hoping we get to see this in HD someday... |
DJ OZMA looks so badass in here lol I don't know much about him, but this is just hilarious and amazing xD :love
|
OK, Ayu.
I'm really excited about this. Why? Because Duty is one of those songs that should have had a PV. Now it does. So, this begs the question... WHERE ARE PVS FOR HANABI AND JULY 1ST?! GIVE THEM NAAAAAAAAOOOOO! RAWWWR?! EDIT: I shouldn't fail to mention that this is arguably her best PV since Rule in recent years. There's actually something going on in it, not just shots of her walking, talking, dancing, etc.. There's action again! |
Quote:
|
Ayu looks amazing especially in the black outfit!so nostalgia to watch and hear Duty!
|
OMG, I so hope this is real! Checking it out now........so happy if it's real....:3.
|
Thanks for posting the link. I won't say it's her ~best PV, but I love the b-movie vibe. I just kind of wish she was the one doing the action instead of her dancers.
To add to what some other posters were speculating, the focus on Shu-ya also makes me think that it was actually shot in 2008/during the "Days" era. |
wow that's pretty random
|
OMG... this is darn cool!
ayu should release this as an official PV to her YouTube account! |
I would have loved it if DJ OZMA wasn't in there. The video was ridiculous enough but without him it would have been somewhat cool lol And it was a bit too much random scenes going on, but probably very cool while playing.
Amazing of Ayu to record a video to a 11 year old song haha Even if it was "only" 9 years old when the video was recorded. EDIT: There is MUCH more new footage including an Ayu anime with all her dancers on youtube, search for 浜崎あゆみ パチンコ and there's tons of pachinko fancams |
This new version of Duty is really good, i wish it could be one of the release XD
|
OMFG so epic. Ayu, why can't your latest videos be like THIS?! LOVE it!
|
I'm out of words. My head was blown.
It like... OMG PV FOR DUTY YAY!, WTF?!, what is now ayu doing in past ayu's voice?, I'm loving it, It's kind of B, I'm totally heartbroken when Subaru gets eaten up, WTF DJ OZAMA?!, Ayu looks nice as a sad nun, OMG the randomness of this coming up now, inspired after the Duty performance in CDL2010-2011?... I guess I found some words after all. |

The first song I heard of Ayu and now it has a PV! And not a boring pv, a FU cking Awsome PV! My dreams came true!
We hope it releases someday in HD! |
I can't believe people think this PV is that great. It's different but that's it. It's action-filled but completely random. It's a cool thing to watch while playing with a pachinko machine but if all of Ayu's videos looked like this I would stop being a fan. It's just a videogame PV with a handful cool shots(VERY cool shots, but imo they don't work as a whole, they would work better in photoshoots), that's it. And for being a videogame PV it's great, but compared to the videos Ayu has had before full of amazing shots and with great concepts(BRILLANTE, progress and beloved come to mind as the latest examples for that, videos that, at least for me, are so good they are actually inspirational and I'm kinda stealing the progress idea haha) this is...nothing. You can see the same stuff in every second japanese videogame. And it probably won't look that good in high quality.
And seeing how it's 4:3 I doubt it was shot/edited in HD. (Also DJ OZMA just completely destroys it, he turns it into comedy) |
wow~ that's cool~
hope avex will release the official MV soon! ^^ |
When was this made?! I thought Ayu said nothing new was made for the machines...
Eeeh, maybe it was for a tour or something. This is just really random |
People are liking this? Huh... interesting.
Personally I think it cheapens the song. Duty is worth much more than this :thud But to each their own. |

Love it. I loved the dancers parts the best. Poor Suba-sama!!
|
Wow! I loved it so much!! And Ayu looks gorgeous!
|
wow this is very cool.
i hope we got to see the HQ version. ayu is sooooooooooooo beautiful on the pink dress!! |
wow, nice! it looks like a video game. ^^
|

|
Nice.. but I still saw this. Would be nice, if she would make a real PV from it... without the Pachinko-Stuff around it.
|
I personally think that she should have picked another song, if she had already decided to make a PV after such a long time ._.
|
I want it to be released on a DVD.^^
|
woah, duty?!?! but have to say that the PV is interesting...!
|
Bigger crap than this can't be made. Seriously.
|
Monsters + Angels + DJ OZMA with magical guitar = EPICNESS
omg I really hope they will release this PV, please avex let my dreams come true :heart. |
ayu looks great here!
hope it were released someday |
That was fantabulous XD
|
I'm releived I'm not the only one disliking it. It's terrible, really.
I can't really put words on this thing haha! I'm glad it's not a "real" PV. Duty deserves something muuuch better and clever. I'd rather have no PV for old songs than this kind of stuff. Quote:
Can't believe what I'm seeing... |
This video (or PV, I still don't know how to call it) has more money than any of her recents PVs. And, as someone previously said, "progress" deserved a PV like this (though I don't like the song).

@hidekirby
It seems to me the people loving it are mostly those with no idea about design and videos whatsoever. I'm no expert myself but know enough to see that this is not amazing and the people with actual design background I talked to about this video agree. Still I think considering it's part of a pachinko machine it's ok, but compared to proper PVs it's...erm... Quote:
And I happen to love the progress video, it's different but in a great way. I sometimes watch it just for that rollercoaster-esque rush when watching it right. |
Quote:
|
@isthisLOL: lol I don't like it that much either...but...that's kinda well...lets just say, yes, most people here don't have any idea about film or design, but, it's the same with her music, and people like what they like...it's hard to push the "people just don't know" card cause...it eliminates everyone...and well, be happy when you're left on top! ;P
I personally find it hilarious that so many people think this is so badass :roflmao This PV-whatever thing is so ridiculously cheesy and stupid. And her dancers. My god. Thanks for taking me back to those crappy days... But hey, at least she looks pretty! And at least the song kicks ass! It could be worse. It could have been something released after 2006. And then where would we be? :laugh |
Quote:
The fact that a video is made for an eleven-years-old song is however amazing. |
We deserve to have a HD version of this D:
|

--- The anime videos were pretty bad too... Ayu is overdramatic herself, but her anime version had a dramatic face from 5 to 5 seconds @____________@ |
Quote:
If you wanna be cost-effective having one person walking around for 2-3 days(and driving at times) covers that. Then there are the few actors involved. I think the two studio scenes were probably the most expensive thing of the video...and they were simple make-up and outfits with a white background and a greenscreen... And I honestly doubt they paid anything for the locations except maybe the indoor parts so...I have no idea where that PV got expensive? I would have guessed it's the cheapest FIVE PV(with beloved maybe) That said I adore that video, but I think it was quite cheap. |
Actually Duty's PV isn't her best PV ever and yes it's extremely tacky as well. The CG seemed popped out from 2001 and it's pretty odd to listen to Ayu with her old voice.
But I don't really care if it's been made by a 6 years old director because the monsters, her dancers turned into dark angels and DJ OZMA fighting with a guitar while he's riding a motorcycle are hilariously epic. You can still like something even if it's not the most gorgeous video ever though :shrug. |
nice =D

Also, by the making off u can see it wasn't only one person taking the photos, but a small crew... The fact that this is not a usual technique for this kind of PV contributes cuz u need to get stuff from zero, different from more usual things that already have stuff done (I doubt the monsters and the background for the Pachinko video were produced exclusively for that video for example). But I never said it was her most expensive music video, just that it is most likelly most expensive than most music videos, cuz PVs tend to be somewhat cheap to produce... And I'm pretty sure the cheapest video from FIVE was ANother song... They didn't need to pay for dancers, cuz ayu used hers, they didn't need to pay for choreography, cuz Ayu troup has it, the outfits were used on the past and everything happens on only one place... Still, neither are her cheapest video... |
Afaik beach, city and desert-y area are all close to LA. And was there really a small crew for the photographed parts? That just...doesn't make sense to me haha They didn't need lighting, they didn't need any heavy equipment, they needed simple make-up for exactly ONE person in each of those scenes...sometimes for no person...they just had to calculate the speed they wanted to emulate, find the right routes and then take a photo each x meters according to that speed.
And damn, I forgot about that opening japanese part xD Still I doubt the people shown were even paid so that wasn't much either. It may have been more expensive than a video shot purely in front of a greenscreen(well, it probably was) but I wouldn't call that an average one haha That's a Beyonce-esque cheapass one xD |
Maybe they had to sit in LA traffic for long periods of time and they spent a lot on gas.
|
Quote:
In the end of the day, they needed to record the process to make a making off :P So, they needed a bigger crew... Like, 3 or 4 people... And if the actors were recorded on place, and not on a studio with green screen, it all turns out being even more expensive... Both cuz need to transport the actor, and cuz they need to actually film it (what would explain the small crew) matching the photos... |
They are in Japan much longer then for only the opening. They are in Japan for quite some time. Pretty much half of the video? After the momement speeds up they travell through Tokyo some. Harajuku is very easy to spot for an example. I think it's not befor somewhere 3 minutes they actually arrive in L.A.
Anywho, I don't think this PV was cheap to make, neither expensive. Somewhere in between. While it's still simple to walk around in the desert taking photos all day they had to match up that walk within a day (weather looking sunny and bright in all photos expect the last ones). I think they had to divide it into several of days. It's transport in Japan and Tokyo, transport to the US and back, special effects for the plane in the air, subway and such. |
wut
Isn't this... 11 years late? |
