Hamasaki Ayumi enjoys shopping with JUNO

On October 8th, singer Hamasaki Ayumi and JYJ’s Junsu’s older twin brother JUNO visited ‘LANDS of Eden.‘ located in Tokyo’s Laforet Harajuku department store and museum. Amid the of cheers from various other shoppers, the two shopped in the store for approximately 20 minutes.

The pair purchased six bags worth of clothes containing 31 items totaling about 429,800 yen (approximately S5,594.88 USD). Hamasaki, who changed her original outfit while in the store, came out hand in hand with JUNO in front of the cameras. She smiled and said, “JUNO chose this for me. And the fabric? It’s great,” showing appreciation for her new outfit.

‘LANDS of Eden.’ is a new store that opened back on September 17th. Store displays showcase the brands casual vintage fashion concept. Previously, this shop exhibited a picture of JUNO arm-in-arm with a mysterious woman as a part of its advertisement campaign. The identity of that mysterious woman became a popular topic.

Her identity was finally revealed on the 7th when the store exhibited another advertisement of both Hamasaki and JUNO together. As the commemoration event for this new advertisement, the two once again linked their arms while shopping at the store.

The two arrived to the store shortly after 6 P.M. They then signed their respective posters and even gave their fans an exclusive service by shaking hands and giving autographs. As they moved around the store, the store employees gave some explanations of items, while the pair enjoyed their shopping.

The songstress changed her clothes to a striped, over-sized cardigan and JUNO changed into a blue and charcoal knit shirt. Then, they left the store elegantly, bathed in bright flashes from the many cameras.

omg she's a shopaholic..
spent more than $ 5000 in a minute....:thud

HULUFan 12th October 2011 05:57 AM

such a good place to shop.. = =

sesshy 12th October 2011 06:13 AM

$5000?!?!?!?! Damn girl, I wish I had that kind of money to shop! Take me with Juno! And yes, I'll go hand and hand with him too. XDDD

clover_bali 12th October 2011 06:31 AM

where did you get this article?

NintendoHTF1242 12th October 2011 06:32 AM

Does Mannie know about this? lol j/k

$5,000 in one day? Girl is crazy.

JackieRos 12th October 2011 07:24 AM

tl;dr

I like shopping too

PoetGirl 12th October 2011 08:07 AM

and since when Ayu was a humble person lol? you guys are funny. everything about her is glam <3

Yoake 12th October 2011 08:07 AM

I would like to do like her. But don't have money enough XD
thanks for the article

emi♡ 12th October 2011 08:23 AM

$5000 isnt THAT much in terms of designer clothing...

My mom's friend spent $800 on a pair of jeans and a tank top from this boutique the other day.

Ridiculous, yes...but...not crazy crazy. And for the two of them? Not too bad.

At first I thought it said $55k lol

C+R+E+AYUMI 12th October 2011 08:44 AM

I wonder how does it feel to spend that amount in 20 minutes time..

Kanzaki 12th October 2011 08:52 AM

5 grand? I think that's how much clothes I've bought over 12 years ;-;
Glad to see those smiles in that pic though. They're lovely :D

millie47 12th October 2011 09:02 AM

S5,594.88 USD is just nothing for Ayu :thud

Aditmi Krisnasaki ~II~ 12th October 2011 09:46 AM

wtf? $5000 only in 20 minutes?

I would have bought myself a fancy new car. :yes :laugh

TITANIC 12th October 2011 10:09 AM

it's reasonable since its for both of them. 1 luxury bag can cost you at least $1000

C+R+E+AYUMI 12th October 2011 10:11 AM

yep but Lands of EDEN doesn't sell luxury bags..so..

1st option: they've bought tons and tons of clothes

2nd option: Lands of EDEN is an expensive brand (i didn't expect it)

emi♡ 12th October 2011 10:34 AM

You can see some of their pricings at their blog~~ http://ameblo.jp/lands-of-eden

Not like, Valentino expensive, but not cheap cheap. They're on the higher end of the average Japanese designer brands it seems.

With some of the things I can see it adding up really quickly...I mean, you guys know how Ayu buys. She'll see something she likes, and then buy multiples in like every possible color, and maybe just multiples just because lol

Mayayu 12th October 2011 11:21 AM

Thank you for telling!
Bah... i bet their endorsement contract goes far beyond $5000, and surely the brand asked them to spend a lot as part of the event.

The whole hand-in-hand thing is getting a little strange though (O_o)

YUKARI 12th October 2011 11:22 AM

5500$!

well, actually when you're rich, 5500$ is not so much :ybiggrin

but tbh LANDS of eden clothes doesn't look to me luxury or so :yrolleyes

C+R+E+AYUMI 12th October 2011 11:52 AM

in effect if we imagine a medium cost of 200$ per piece she's "just" bought 25 pieces..one piece each 48seconds...! LOL..my arms aren't that fast

chu-lips 12th October 2011 01:27 PM

it makes me remember bout how much she did shop when she was in hong kong for asia tour 06..
She bought 20 pairs of LV shoes with multiple color..
N spent twice higher than in this moment..

AyUmIXx 12th October 2011 01:30 PM

haha why's the surprise?
it's AYU afterall..
any big stars spend a whole lot~~~

LONJJONG 12th October 2011 01:37 PM

my God..
I wonder how much her riches is... o_o

Suteisi 12th October 2011 02:13 PM

LANDS OF Eden being located in Laforet means it's an expensive brand to begin with. I don't think your every day girl would be to afford much in that store...

Exactly, especially considering they got 31 items. lol I was surprised they didn't spend more actually.

Calico 12th October 2011 05:07 PM

lol she shops like I do in discount bins/sales at everyday-joe stores.

Except I spend more along the lines of 5000 yen on a good day, lol.

Kazeyomi 12th October 2011 05:25 PM

Actually if I were rich like her I'd probably do the same. I'm kinda a shopaholic myself, so :laugh.

But yeah $5000 aren't that much for expensive clothes brands.
If you have enough money, of course.

Yeah, I thought $55k as well! :thud

I wonder how many things they bought, and if they were reimbursed later on :P

Hopefully I could go through that store when I finally get to Japan....walk in Ayu's footsteps, not spend in her walletsteps :tired

panda♥ 12th October 2011 05:49 PM

$5,000 is probably pocket change to Ayu. :laugh

letter 12th October 2011 06:43 PM

Why is this a big deal? She's a millionaire, 5 grand isn't going to make much of a difference. Sure, for us regular folks it's a lot, but really, Ayu? Where's the surprise coming from?

RayJason 12th October 2011 09:07 PM

^ I agree. I do not understand that people are actually amazed... I'm amazed by Juno though, wtf is that around his neck ....

AyuWorld 12th October 2011 10:40 PM

wahaha yeah, 5k isnt that much compared to how much they paid Ayu and Juno to endorse their brand

actually,im more interested when i read the article the way they tell the story as if Ayu and Juno was a couple lol xDD really nice though ^^

isthisLOL? 12th October 2011 11:01 PM

5k for 30 items, so a bit over 150 an item, that's really not much for designer clothing...

Mitkki 12th October 2011 11:31 PM

lol I'm pretty sure ayu spends more on her Jimmy Choo's than this.
$5000 would only get her a few pairs and we know she buys much more than that.

Mintkisses 12th October 2011 11:46 PM

If you're the Queen of J-pop and had a ton of money, $5,000 is nothing :p
Watched that Kardashians the other day and one of the boyfriends spent $3,000 on a cane. It's just the life of rich people. Ahh.. that would be nice to not have to worry about a spending limit lol And between her and JUNO I'm not surprised at the price.

Btw, what is up with Ayu and JUNO? Yea, they're just friends.. but seeing it's Japan, is holding hands just part of their close relationship? I hope Ayu and Mannie are okay..

Chibi-Chan 13th October 2011 01:16 AM

Ok, I need more money.

se7entheaven 13th October 2011 04:40 AM

5,000 is little. ayu once bought 20-40 pairs of shoes at one go :)

and I heard the way she chooses clothes is by racks. Like "I want these and these, the rest can go"

:D

kumikomishitate 13th October 2011 04:47 AM

5K for 31 items is nothing. It's not Wal-Mart prices or anything, but this store doesn't seem very different than say, Lucky Brand Jeans or BCBG Maxazria (mind you, that store is probably cheaper in the States than here). *I* would die if I spent 5K in 20 minutes, on 31 items, BUT when you really think about it, for a rich celebrity to be spending on average 161$ per designer item, especially when her average purse costs that plus an added zero, it's pretty meh. I've seen worse inside a department store. 200$ for a designer tank top? Hell no.

agreed =D

krazeyo 13th October 2011 05:45 AM

I wonder if Ayu even paid for the items haha...It's a smart marketing ploy by Lands of Eden to get them to spend at their store, so I wonder if it was part of their contract or something.

Actually, from what I heard from my Japanese friends, holding hands in public is the ultimate relationship level. It's even higher than kissing on the intimacy scale, and to hold hands in public means you're probably in a sexual relationship with your partner. So yeah, you never hold hands in public. Of course, this is purely in a couple context between one girl and one guy, so if, say, a group of people are holding hands, it doesn't mean anything.

So yep, not sure where this article was taken from, but what I read from the original Japanese articles state that they are linked arm-in-arm, not hand in hand. I did a translation of the article from Biglobe News here.

Hopefully that clears up some misunderstandings. ;)

waterballoon 13th October 2011 05:59 AM

maybe JUNO is gay and they're locking arms cos they're "sisters" LOL

yes it sounds ridiculous that the imagine of a brand should pay to buy brand's clothes that probably they would have never bought

rusuke 13th October 2011 12:13 PM

Ayu is really rich! She loves shopping to death. Fun girl!

I'm kinda lazy girl to shop. I love to have new clothes and things but I don't really like to shop. It makes me dizzy and awkward.

Random: Why does the media always use "JUNSU's older/twin brother" adjective to describe or introduce JUNO in almost articles that I've read?

elvesword 13th October 2011 02:36 PM

Well that's her ability to shop LOL

dreamlover13 13th October 2011 05:33 PM

Didn't she once spend like $64,000 on shoes?

I could just be going crazy,so don't quote me.

AyumiBest 13th October 2011 09:40 PM

I wish I had that kind of money. :P

kiseki 13th October 2011 10:04 PM

I can't believe they calculated how much the two of them spent on the clothes they bought. :D:D:D:D:D:D:D

Lady_Eowyn 15th October 2011 03:52 AM

$5,000 in 30 minutes? WOW O.O ...

Spoiler:
Might sound ridiculous but that makes me feel relieved LOL :P

Kaiouforever 19th October 2011 04:34 AM

She always looks fierce. I'd shop there too if I had the money lol.
