New album 'Party Queen' out 03/21 information thread [III]

I am posting all relevant information in here! Hopefully it helps. If anything needs to be fixed or added, please post it here and I will add it ASAP! I had to make this twice due to deleting it on accident, lol.

**Originally the title of the album was reported as "Party queen" by Kome, but Ayu corrected Kome and said it was "Party Queen". It looks like he sent out the notice before Ayu made the correction.

Etc. tidbits
- Masashi Muto directed some PVs for this album
- it appears that the album cover was shot in London with Leslie in late November (https://twitter.com/#!/lesliekeesupe...34749770022913)
- Timmy composed both Party queen and how beautiful you are
- There is a commemorative photobook coming out on 03/21 [the same day] with special shots not included in the album, it appears it might be 3000yen? (http://www.ahsforum.com/forum/showpo...&postcount=334)
- how beautiful you are is being released as a digital single on 02/08 on iTunes with a cover
- it is thought that there are only two interludes due to Ayu saying that she recorded 12 songs in London
- Timmy wrote Party Queen with Ayu in mind
- Ayu mentioned that castings for a PV in a recent tweet (but it is unknown if she was talking in the present tense) so another PV for the album is not unlikely! (She is in fact filming another PV.)
- The spoiler that follows has PV tidbits from the last few new album threads while she was in London recording.

Ah, it looks like it was gwijai's post then. They said it was a fast song and I remember wondering if the PVs were going to be connected since it seems that they are going to have some of the same cast members in all three PVs (somewhat like that band in the background of Sexy little things/Microphone).

With this piece of information combined with Nigel's Tumblr (the stylist for the extras) it looks like Shake It is for sure the first PV filmed in an apartment in East London. I think it's also safe to say that Return Road was filmed in the factory with the tank, scientists, and drones, and NaNaNa was filmed at the Fabric nightclub in Farringdon with people doing a bit of gymnastics and in crazy makeup/hair/tattoos/etcetera.

taskebab

This is the best he could come up with? Embarrassing. Hopefully it's as awesome as tasking though.

pepper 10th February 2012 12:29 AM

i hate the month after a realese.
i seriously hate it.

attractive nausea 10th February 2012 12:33 AM

^^ Taskinst is wayy better imo, best tasuku interlude ever
can't wait till we get more informations about the album, i wanna see the covers so baaad, and i hope there will be a fifth pv as well

alternarist 10th February 2012 12:34 AM

i may be kinda late but ayu has a song called the next LOVE. hmm perfect she is looking for it.

may I ask you a very ignorant question?
What is tasuku anyway? I always thought it had to do with the english "task", you now... like you need something to do.

!Lawi! 10th February 2012 12:40 AM

It's the name of the guy who composed and or arranged many great Ayu songs ! It's a kind of pun, since the japanese pronunciation of his name (Tasuku) sounds like "task" ! If I remember well ^^"

xLuna&1LOVE 10th February 2012 12:44 AM

Oh I see! According to wikipedia he also arranged songs like Heartplace, Will, Memorial Address
I didn't know that. Thank you so much for explaining!

!Lawi! 10th February 2012 12:56 AM

^Yes indeed ! You're very welcome ^^ Actually, though it has the worst title of the whole album, it's probably one of the tracks I'm the most eager to listen to, because I LOVE his works !

emi♡ 10th February 2012 01:08 AM

taskinillusion is my favorite.

I love the randomness in these threads~

I think taskebab is hilarious, therefore, I like it. Just hope its.....original........lol

TeamAyu2004 10th February 2012 01:52 AM

I dont think i quite get it...
I mean taskebab is a food... but if it is a play off his name.. wouldn't it be task -ebab... which is an ewok.. lol

ayuuk 10th February 2012 02:04 AM

Wow third thread already. :D

AyuGAME 10th February 2012 02:10 AM

"...a super grand full album of 14 brand new songs will be released! All songs were recorded in London, featuring top engineers and musicians at the helm of today’s musical scene, creating an ambitious album of world-class quality."

Quite the description! Very ambitious. I need to ramp up my expectations a little now. :)

JackieRos 10th February 2012 02:28 AM

Reminds me of those kebabs lmao

truehappiness 10th February 2012 02:32 AM

Actually, all of his interludes have 'taskin-' in them so I wonder why it wasn't taskinkebab... but I guess they probably tried that and figured the ks would work well together.

taskinillusion
taskinlude
tasking
taskinst
taskebab

I really want to hear what he's got for us this time! However, I really hope that it doesn't end up being a controversial interlude -again- since tasking and taskinst were supposedly plagiarized. There is probably a good reason why they went with taskebab.

That description really isn't any indicator of quality or whether or not you'd like the album, as they normally do this with any new releases in Japan (or anywhere really). However, they probably did work with some top musicians and engineers like they did for Love songs and Rock'n'Roll Circus.

Okay, haha. Just making sure. Somehow since people are able to read a translation of it, they think that for some reason the album should live up to the description even though they do it just about every time she releases an album.

Bad Wolf 10th February 2012 03:08 AM

i love that taskebab is a continuing tag <3 someone's god bless this forum~

Or that taskebab is an actual name of a dish and taskinkebab isn't...

truehappiness 10th February 2012 04:14 AM

There's that too. Very interesting that they went with a food-inspired title.

ayuuk 10th February 2012 05:20 AM

If, in the unlikely event, the song taskebab is not an interlude, kinda want to see Ayu as a chef in a PV (imagining now) LOL

Well, she has served food in PVs before...Beautiful Fighters right? haha, blocking up right now. But Ayu chef...CUTE!

ren0210989 10th February 2012 01:14 PM

taskebab... makes me hungry ;.;

Takakayu 10th February 2012 01:17 PM

I seriously don't get that title... It's like the egg thing has come true.

Heavenly 10th February 2012 01:25 PM

Weirdly, each time I read "taskebab", it reminds me "baobab" more than "kebab" (yeah it's weird :laugh i know lol)

TeamAyu2004 10th February 2012 02:15 PM

^ lol

I want to listen to this album, like now... lol... going on a road trip and its nothing like an ayu album to make the time fly!

Kouyou 10th February 2012 06:15 PM

^ I agree. I can't wait for it to be released. As for purchasing it, is there anywhere I can get it that won't take three weeks for it to get here? I pre-ordered JAPONESQUE from YesAsia and it just arrived yesterday (three weeks later) :\

Masamune 10th February 2012 06:18 PM

I think taskebab is the most strange song name sisnce the rumour of the "egg" song...xD

Maemi 10th February 2012 07:07 PM

LOL some of those song titles are awful, but I don't give a damn as long as I actually enjoy the music! It's not as if she doesn't already have 'strange' titles, but I am really disappointed with the album title, imo it's stupid.

Looking forward to the new Ayu music and I really really hope I won't have a problem with her voice...

pepper 10th February 2012 08:08 PM

the strangest ayu titles have very good music inside! Load of the SHUGYO is amazing, STEP you is one of my favorite Ayu's pop songs, Mirrorcle World is awesome. :)

isthisLOL? 10th February 2012 08:17 PM

I'm still wondering if she'll go with the obvious with the title or instead reveal a pseudo-deep meaning from the booklet, album lyrics and videos. Knowing Ayumi it could either be "yay let's party!!!! *no deeper meaning here*" or some statement about the end of her relationship, hope or something completely different.

Foyuki 10th February 2012 08:28 PM

- -tasuku's cabab? so it is an interlude - -

truehappiness 10th February 2012 11:37 PM

I wonder what song's getting a PV besides from the four we already know about. Maybe it'll be Party Queen? If not, then maybe Eyes, Smoke, Magic?

pepper 10th February 2012 11:57 PM

^ are you sure there will be more?

Mirrorcle Monster 11th February 2012 12:01 AM

I hope Party Queen, it is a great song

I was just thinking, it really does not feel like the old Ayu. Somehow we are livingin another Ayu era now. I think Ayu eras so far have been:
1. 1998-2000 (From the begonning until the definition of her style)
2. 2001 (Creative Peak)
3. 2002-2004 (Searching for new style)
4. 2005-2010 (The Pop Empress establishes, diversity above everything)
5. 2011-?? (Ayu is not a girl, probably her most mature era)

I guess it depends on everyone's feelings. Anyway, i am not going to base my opinions about song titles, I have high hopes for the album and i hope it is not disappointing

pepper 11th February 2012 12:22 AM

^ I agree within 1-3, I would say only that between 05-10 it was some moments like experimentals etc, some "divaish" looks a'la american image, but mostly I can agree with all.

truehappiness 11th February 2012 01:02 AM

Yes, I am very sure since she said she was filming a new PV tomorrow (today) on Twitter. Unless somehow it's for a new release post-Party Queen?

TeamAyu2004 11th February 2012 01:49 AM

no no no... lets do a party queen PV please!

pepper 11th February 2012 02:48 AM

Idc for which one she will be filming (hope it's not second ballad though :>) but I am pretty sure it will be Party queen :> I think if she sang it live, so it might be the album promo music video like Microphone/Love song. ("the main one")

setsuka 11th February 2012 03:46 AM

:0

I just noticed there is no Party Queen PV, on the track-list lol well I really hope she films a pv for it, the songs would have perfect with Lady Dynamite's pv

I have a feeling the HBYA PV will come midway between single and album release. Last week of February/First week of March. As a bridge between single and album to start the actual promo.

TeamAyu2004 11th February 2012 02:22 PM

I think their guess is as good as any other. Still even if they're right for today's standards 11 new songs is plenty. Considering people release album with 8 songs now days.

That would actually mean 10 new songs, not 11.
Let it be known for the record that I think it's nearly impossible for serenade in A minor to be an instrumental track. lol but we'll see ~

So far only the album's title and song titles have been confirmed, not the song order or information about which songs will be interludes and which are not. edit; and which songs get pv's. (I can be wrong on this) :yes

man, i hope we dont have 4 interludes... that would be bad (for me)
but didn't she say that she recorded 12 new songs in the studio in London...
but now thinking about it... two of those songs most likely included party queen and HBYR...

man.. only ten! ah! (but 12 over all?)

isthisLOL? 11th February 2012 04:42 PM

Serenade in A Minor suggests it has vocals from the title. But Aria did the same and it ended up being an interlude.

AYUCREA 11th February 2012 04:44 PM

five pvs omg!! can't wait !!!!!!

I hope only three interludes...
taskebab
a cup of tea
Serenade in A minor

Larisa-chan 11th February 2012 05:03 PM

I feel like Eyes, Smoke, Magic might be an introduction interlude for the album...

TeamAyu2004 11th February 2012 05:06 PM

I would think Serenade in A Minor would be a interlude... but she is kinda singing... like.. AaaAaaAaa... or something like that...

Pretty much. There should be 12 songs featuring vocals, though that still doesn't mean some of those won't be interludes like Mirror, Catcher In The Light, not yet... and others.

toxicterence 11th February 2012 05:21 PM

is it confirmed that there will be additional songs and PVs? I thought the amount of songs and PVs are fixed but not the order of the tracklist yet?

My Rainbow 11th February 2012 05:56 PM

I am very pissed about having 4 interludes in the album... it's not like there's 16 tracks in total... WHAT KIND OF JOKE IS THAT AYU?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!

toniayu 11th February 2012 06:00 PM

I hope not to get 4 interludes, but if we get 4 interludes would be OK.Guys,is an album without any single,we must be pretty happy with 10 BRAND NEW SONGS!!!!!!I don't understand why people are too exigent...
edit:
yay!!RAINBOW initiate

Additional songs. No. A PV seemingly.

krtman2002 11th February 2012 06:09 PM

I don't know why but I think that "Serenade in A minor" will be something like Curtain Call, XD. This is the song I want to listen the most! XD

happiholic★ 11th February 2012 06:11 PM

I have learned that Ayu's most interesting song titles usually end up being interludes, so I can see some truth in the Facebook fanpage post.

TeamAyu2004 11th February 2012 06:37 PM

very very true!

I agree. If there are really 4 interludes, 'Party Queen' will still have 10 new songs (or 9, considering that 'how beautiful you are' was released as a digital single). It's still more new songs than most of her albums...

toniayu 11th February 2012 07:18 PM

I just ordered the SPECIAL LIMITED BOX SET!!!!!!!!

Bad Wolf 11th February 2012 07:58 PM

Four interludes would be the suckiest thing, I swear. I end up being completely ambivalent about most of her interludes, but I honestly feel like they ruin what could be a nicely packed album. *shrug* Maybe I'm missing something in terms of why Ayu would choose to have so many of them on one record but, ugh. All I know is that the interludes on GUILTY really piss me off, with the exception of Marionette's intro. The others are completely useless.

But tbh if this ends up being true I'll just cope, like I usually do.

Kouyou 11th February 2012 08:51 PM

Guh, I want Eyes, Smoke, Magic to be a full-length track, not an interlude. I guess only time will tell if it is one or not, but I do agree with the people saying that her most interesting song titles are usually interludes :( Booo!

You could order it from YesAsia and then download the album when it leaks so you don't have to wait for the actual CD to arrive :)

When I order from CD Japan and use EMS shipping I usually get my CD on the day of release or the day after. CDJ usually ships a few days early and EMS is very fast :yes. But I also live in the US and it'll depend where it's being shipped to.

Really? I thought Mirror and The Judgement Day were amazing.

TeamAyu2004 11th February 2012 10:35 PM

most of her interludes are rather good, i think. But getting 4 is a bit much...
Gone are the days when she had 15 tracks and an INTRODUCTION and interlude.

Lol, the intro for Marionette is probably the most useless and unnecessary interlude of her career...

And interludes, any other album and four would be too much. But come on people, we are getting a COMPLETELY brand-spankin' NEW FULL STUDIO ALBUM!! That is virtually unheard of! I am happy enough just for that and like it was mentioned, if there were four interludes then that would leave 10 new tracks (including Party queen and Hbya).

ayu_ready? 11th February 2012 10:53 PM

4 interludes :thud
how. I. do. not. approve...

mi|kshake 11th February 2012 11:40 PM

Love a good interlude! Wouldn't be an Ayumi album without them so I look forward to hearing them! Though I do quite like it when she has 16 tracks on her albums, 4 being interludes.

mi|kshake~

I think a hidden track is a (very unlikely) possibility. Though it could end up being Happening Here or something.

pepper 11th February 2012 11:57 PM

^ or a remix, or a solo ver of a duet song from FIVE. That IS possible.

I still don't think that "fanpage" is a reliable information source, but I guess, 4 interludes is a standard. I hope one of them will be a vocal intro. Maybe if she recorded 12 tracks, it might that 2 of them will have vocals (even a soflty whispering or nanana)

Mr. Goto 12th February 2012 12:01 AM

DAMN IT i was really looking forward to a cup of tea, i was envisioning something like sweet season :weep

interludes, especially the good ones sometimes frustrate me cause i can't help but imagine how great they would be as a full song.

truehappiness 12th February 2012 12:04 AM

I think three is usually her standard. We only got four during GUILTY and NEXT LEVEL. I remember a lot of people were expecting Rock'n'Roll Circus to have more than three, but it turned out that count down was a real song, haha. Is this the first time they've revealed a tracklist before putting it in order? As far as I remember, we usually got it in the correct order when it was first released. I still think that the 'A/a' thing might be a hint to the other interludes that go with taskebab.

Also... fun fact! Ayu's new back up singer (Yumi Kawamura) is the vocalist for the Persona 3 soundtrack and was also a backing vocalist on BRILLANTE.

pepper 12th February 2012 12:05 AM

but is this even a confirmed information or a just a fanpage suggestion?

emi♡ 12th February 2012 12:07 AM

I like having interludes, and I dont mind if all of those songs are interludes.

It seems fairly standard.

10 new tracks, 4 interludes. If she had had singles, it would be 6 new songs, 4 single songs, 4 interludes.

ayu_ready? 12th February 2012 12:11 AM

I do not need 4 interludes, they're not full songs :(
why do I need them?

it's obvious taskebab is interlude, lol, but 2 is surely enough. or even one. just start an album with a good song and the problem is solved :D
