For anyone who loves looking at Ayu's nails, her nailist has posted images of the nails she did for this shoot!

It seems that minazo no longer does Ayu's nails. I'm not sure what happened but he hasn't been doing much related to Ayu lately. Is he still even working for her?

I thought ayu still works with Bancho :laugh when did they stop working together? they seemed to be close friends too.

lol it looks like someone painted them with gouache xD it's probably acrylic... i know matt is knda in fashion now, but they look kinda megh~ cheeeesyyyyy

It all look hand painted, probably with a very tiny brush. Takes skills!

it actually looks like a regular white false nails I always buy, just painted with some crap...

they're like, acrylic/plastic nails that you can glue onto the real nail. it's alot easier than doing nail art on someone's hand. they aren't practical for daily use and are mainly only used for photoshoots and stuff. :D the paint is either nail polish and/or acrylic paint.

AIKO is very talented so I don't mind! She used to do Mika Nakashima's nails too ♥

they're really cute!

They're cute and such, but i find them not as fine as the ones made by artcika or Mayayu.
The painting is not so precise, and the sparkles look like the ones you can find in an "Artistic Set" for children...

She stopped working with Bancho after the end of 2009, which is when Minazo took over as nailist.

Just recently, AIKO from esNAIL started doing her nails instead of Minazo. Her costume designer is also no longer working for her, it seems. (the one who did all the outfits in that ViVi with the BIG outfits)

Those look cheap as hell. :no

I was thinking that too but ayu chose to wear them so she must like them.


For me nothing has to be so perfect, little mistakes show you that you did your best.
I like them to be not perfect. I'm just saying :D

I wonder if they're still friends with Bancho Oo

I think Mayayu's style is very much like Bancho's. Very clean and tends to be super glossy. These are more matte but I don't think AIKO normally does her nails like this. It's possible that they're purposely like this for the shoot. The bad lighting and somewhat low quality photos also don't help very much, haha.

I believe they are still friends since Bancho occasionally goes to Ayu lives/events and they go to parties together. We just don't see them all the time like before since Bancho isn't Ayu's personal nailist anymore.

Thanks for the pics, they're really cool! I want to see more of Aiko before I start comparing her to Bancho and minazo, though.

I like the nails. They don't have to be perfect to be nicely done. The ones with the little kisses and the cheetah are my favorites...and the ones she currently has on are really cute, too.

Minazo was Bancho's assistant for years before he became Ayu's official nailist so he learned from the best!

AIKO usually do better nails than those, especially on your own nails. I've been visiting her blog since 2008 I believe and I've seen better things than what Mayayu can do!

Maybe AIKO did the nails matt because of the camera flashes in photoshoot?

I feel like she needed to put on a base coat to the nails. It looks like she just glued some stuff directly to the press on, which makes it look cheap.

Bancho is the best, when I found about Ayu in 2001 and saw her nails I was just in :luv2!

but as far as I know, Bancho now has a kind of her own Nail school or academy :) (did I read about it in NAIList japanese mags or of the kind? some mags were even advertising it) kinda sad cuz I don't like new nails as much as the older ones, lol. they were just much more gorgeous:grumpy

The second ones are the best.
