Love this song, and now knowing the lyrics, I love it even more, esp the second set of verses, so so true!! :laugh

I think this fits as a song for Max Matsuura more than Tell me why~ Or maybe both are for him.. ^^

I think it's kind of because of the huge backlash he'd gone through on Twitter... so much that his Twitter is practically invisible now even though Ayu still follows it.

For me, it's mostly about the language patterns she uses, it's really casual, like talking to a close friend.

Also, the part which reads about characters in books groveling on the ground and snot dripping from their nose is very typical Japanese manga, so it just made me feel that this song was written for a friend of hers who understands the context, ie a Japanese.

And both choruses just reminds me so much of Max's drunken tweet incidents. :laugh In S Cawa, she said that she wrote this song while on the plane to London, so it was around the time frame when that twitter war thing happened. She also said that she wrote this song together with "Return Road", and called it a strange combination. Since (imo) Return Road reeks of Mannie/divorce, what she said in S Cawa makes sense. Like, writing a song about your divorce, then the next one about your favorite boss would seem mighty strange. ^^;

Anyways, it's all just my speculation, so do take with a pinch of salt. :innocent

Regardless of who Ayu intended this for, these are really fantastic lyrics.

This is slowly becoming my favorite song on the album!

To me it seens to be the dark side of the party queen... someone who lonely drinks the night way and try to have fun for not worring about their own problems...

some parts sound a bit funny lol..but i get the feeling. the opening gets to me the most. It's like speaking to an ex for sure

Letter, to herself is really very very amazing..
i can see how some lines seem to be reflective of Ayu herself...

Misa, I don't have time to translate the entire song right now, but I'd like to point out one thing about the 5th paragraph:

もしかしたらさ　シアワセなんて
ほんのひと握りしかなくて

I think you should read it as ほんの一握りしかなくて instead of 本の人握りしかなくて.
ほんの = mere; only; just
一握り = a handful of (something); a small amount

So it means something like "If we can only grab a mere handful of happiness"

Yeah, some parts sound pretty weird to me, but I'm not Japanese.

i thought of something like this when i listened to it...
this entire album seems to be along those lines... she is mussing with herself and everything that has been done...

^^I just think the entire album is so raw, personal, and dark. I mean, except for the first three tracks, but we know she is a lonely queen, so... :/
