Oh yeah, a new best album that has only summer hits on? Nice. I love Kuu's summer songs so I think it's a good release actually. Every summer song on the same CD will be awesome and I don't have to see the trouble in making my own list. x)

I have a question guys. Seeing that picture of Kenji & Kuu shopping and watching UNIVERSE Making Of DVD lately where Kuu and her dancers are driving from one location to the other by car, I wondered, is Kuu always walking around in public on her own? I mean, without bodyguards or anything like that?
This may not be unusual but I am so used to ayu who always has one or two bodyguards around in her pictures, and an assistent driving her car. Except for when she's on vacation overseas.

Apart from that, the voting for her Love&Songs Live is closed right? I am looking forward to see the final setlist:heart

what do you guys think the tracklist will be for BEST HIT SUMMER!?
i mean it could be a summerish songs/videos compilation so we would get songs like:
To be One, COME WITH ME, I'll be there, Lick me ❤, Once Again, girls, Hashire!, Your Sunshine, yadda yadda and so on!

Or we could get a summer singles best with something like:
Lollipop, JUICY, ECSTASY, FREAKY, Poppin'love cocktail, blah blah

i think we'll get a summerish songs best...
so more cute/pop/fun heavy tracklist and 1 new song...
and i'm sure we'll get some summerish remixes of some songs on it!

For going by car I know she does both, driving herself and having a driver, it's in different documentaries.
And for having a bodygurad... I don't know actually, she seems to go out mostly by herself in Japan. There are photos made by fans and paparazzi where she's clearly alone or just with family and friends, just like this one with Kenji or the last one with her walking around Ginza (and the photos from private visits with her dancers in amusement parks in the FC mag, there never seems to be somebody else).
Outside she always has somebody around her e.g. when she was in LA for FREAKY single or in Taiwan 2009.

I think she tends to go out by herself a lot...I don't think I have ever seen Kuu with a bodyguard, like Ayu. There was a recent photo released a couple of months ago where she was out shopping by herself. The fans seem to take pictures instead of bother her...It would be so awesome to bump into Kuu shopping though hahaha.

I think this pregnancy is great for Kuu's career. Kuu is clearly still loved even with the pregnancy, considering JAPONESQUE still got #1 and some good sales without any promo! I think since this is such a huge change in her life, it will also make a big change in how she approaches her music, which is why I am excited for her comeback. I don't think people need to worry about her not being sexy anymore, since she herself said she is going to continue with it and be a 'sexy mummy!'. Sexy is who she is! I don't see why having a baby she should stop that...She'll just continue being the mature sexy that she has been doing. Like the JAPONESQUE cover, now that is classy sexy!

After all these years in J-Pop industry and after being with Kumi for so long people are still complaining about best albums? Seriously. We all knew avex is gonna release best album this year, it was just SO obvious. You all know that best albums always have good sales in Japan. And like happiholic★ she IS Queen of The Best or Best Queen.

Anyway, if it's something like BOUNCE & LOVERS I guess we can expect at least one new song and maybe some old songs with the new arrangement. Time Heals Version of Saigo no Ame was perfect.

Speaking of Best Bounce & Lovers, I really wanted to buy it when I saw it at the convention, but it wasn't Japanese Press.

If this summer best turns out to be true, then I'm going to wait for full details before I completely write it off.

If Best Hit Summer is like BOUNCE&LOVERS, then I hope she'll include some album only tracks in too, and not just singles. So my tracklist would be like this:

I tried my best with this. And yep, Sweet love is there. To me it creates a very summer-ish atmosphere and thus it's definitely one of my favorite songs. I'm pretty sure Moon Crying could be in there. It's really popular song after all and I think it might be nice add to the list. I also want Your Sunshine into this album because it's too awesome. I love that song. ;__; I also think that Cutie Honey will probably be in the track list but I didn't put it in this time. I love that song but it just didn't fit into this dream track list I made. XD I wanted to put Heat there too but I think that JUICY is enough~ x3

But I had fun making this anyway. :heart

She performed Hashire on Trick Tour, Dream Music Park, UNIVERSE Tour and Eternity Billboard Live, and also have a remix. XD But I agree with the list.

I think they'll add Taisetsu na kimi e, V.I.P., Heat, Once Again and maybe For you.

I'm just hoping the album will be a mix of summer sounding songs with songs released in the summer, but with more emphasis on the former. I would love if she used some album only tracks or b-sides and make PVs for them :love

For going out I think it's cool she goes out by herself. A few years ago around the time she started getting really popular in a interview she was talking about her fame. She said something about how before people would ever stop her or anything but now people stop her and will ask for photos and autographs which she thought was really cool. For security in other countries I can see that lol. When she was here in TX there were soo many. When she left the autograph area there were 4 people around her..one on each side of her yelling for people to get out of the way.

I remember that... They nearly pushed us over getting her out. Crazy!

Another "Best" album? This was inevitable.

Well, I think it started from the fact that after Best First Things, not that long after she released Best Second Session, though I don't really see that as a best album, since its all new material. They are also her highest selling albums. Then you have Bounce & Lovers, Third Universe (which was kinda useless imo) and Out Works Best. That's 5 best albums in a twelve year career. Third Universe was in 2010, so its been two years. That could be a long time or a short time, depending on your opinion.

Personally, the only Best album that annoyed me was Third Universe, as I feel they released it for the sake of releasing a best album during her 10th year, and it didn't have much desirable content if you had been buying previous albums. I really liked the releases of Bounce & Lovers and Second Session because they had new stuff, so I do look forward to what a summer Best could bring.


EDIT: Does anyone know if the DVD version of Live Tour 2005: First Things Deluxe Edition has any extra content over the version on Best Second Session?

I know there's nothing new to comment, but omg it feels so good to be expecting a new release from Kumi again :laugh I though we would get just a new single by November, and even though a BEST doesn't have much of a new material, there shall be a new photoshoot and a new song and omg <3 I mean, I really expect a new shoot since it's Kuu we're talking about, if this an ayu rumour then I wouldn't be hoping for new pics and songs... There would be an stylized A logo and that's all :P

I think that if this was the tracklist, I would almost never listen to the second half :laugh I like the original tracklist, I'm used to this "not-flowing" in Kuu's albums :D

I do understand what you mean, actually. And I agree. I like it when my albums flow nicely. There is nothing better than one track leading into the next with perfect harmony. I even make sure my created playlists on iTunes do this, lol!!

Pregnant in November so...She should be giving birth next month in July proper..(9 months of labour right?)

As I know that she's pregnant since October , and I read somewhere that she's expected to give birth around late may / early june

EDIT : According to Kuu's pregnancy announcement in December 16 she's 8 weeks pregnant , So Kumi is 33 weeks pregnant , Women usually give birth in 36 ~ 40 weeks

I've heard there's gonna be a new song and PV....Obviously nothing official yet, although since it was reported she was recording a new song not long ago it might be possible! Even if she's pregnant she could still record a new song easily if she wanted. :)

Mix doesn't necessarily mean Remix. You can have like, mix tapes of random songs on one CD etc which is what I think they're going for here. They already released a Remix album just recently. I think they don't want to name it a 'BEST' to show that it's not that much of a major project you know? And then they can come along with a proper BEST sometime soon lol

Maybe it will have some remixes like Lollipop Pink Chameleons, which is not like a house mix, and some original mix too. I would love something like that, at least this give a new feeling to the songs.

Probably have a few remixes but I think it will be similar to the “fairyland-glitter-BLUE BIRD-Greatful days-July 1st” Mega-Mash-Up Mix Ayu did, where it's just the originals mixed together. It will be a continuous mix no doubt but it will have full songs, just mixed during transitions.

A remix CD with a DVD. How strange. This release is certainly intriguing. I agree about it being some sort of all summer song non-stop megamix. I bet the DVD will mash up the PVs or something, with some live summer performances.

I'd be happy with it being a remix since I love all the driving, and some remixed bass pumping summer songs would be awesome! I still hope there is a new song on it, though. :)

To be honest, I think this release will be a waste of time unless there's a new song involved. Just me. :shrug

If the DVD have the a-nation performances, to fit with the summer theme, it would be awesome... And something new to make people buy the album.

I hope it will contain all her a-nation performances, ever. I think there were some that were not released on the a-nation DVDs.

"Beach Mix" doesn't really sound like a remix album to me, but rather a summer compilation. Maybe there will be remixes on the album, but I think the concept will just be summer.

^ All the performances is too much for one DVD, she already performed almost 60 songs on a-nation (some one them more than one time, but anyway).
