Wake me up

Sweet scar
http://v.youku.com/v_show/id_XNDc2MTM0Mjg0.html This is the track composed by DAI. There's also a download link posted. It's very... haunting sounding imo though also soothing at the same time.

Tracklist + composer information + PV directors
Spoiler:
The mini album consists of a rock track, a sad yet uplifting track, a ballad sung with a 'big voice' (they use 'one main vocal' in the description), and a medium ballad that will speak to the listener. This release will also truly show off Ayu's creativity. (tokyoxjapanxfan)

- not that it isn't really obvious, but for now, it's probably safe to assume that they list off the descriptions in the order that the tracklist is in so...
Wake me up - rock track
Sweet scar - sad yet uplifting
snowy kiss - ballad
Ivy - medium ballad

Wake me up / snowy kiss - directed by Masashi Muto

i need the covers!!!

krtman2002 9th November 2012 01:10 PM

12 tracks!! ummm... NICE!

koumori 9th November 2012 01:20 PM

I wonder if twelve tracks are all original mix songs or a few new songs with a few remixes again. Either way, thanks for the information. :) I'm looking forward to again.

jang-kun 9th November 2012 01:22 PM

if it's 12 original tracks then it's the same as Duty. lol

krtman2002 9th November 2012 01:24 PM

I think it'll be something similar to LOVE mini. It'll have 3-4 new songs, some remixes and the instrumentals... I wish I was wrong, but...

pepper 9th November 2012 01:43 PM

it could be 4 songs + 4 instrumentals and 4 mixes. (acoustic, orchestra and 2 remixes maybe)

koumori 9th November 2012 01:53 PM

Not exactly a mini then, oops :doh Probably four original mixes, four remixes and four instrumentals.

ALfromHELLSING 9th November 2012 02:19 PM

I have a 'slider case' w/A COMPLETE. It's not really for small coins (well that's what I think). I keep cards and this kind of stuff in it, it's pretty big to put in the pocket. I'd love to get clear file tho, I love this pic.

TeamAyu2004 9th November 2012 02:46 PM

hmmm... I wonder what this slider is...
Something like what came with Ayu-mi-x 3???
I would lvoe to have that.... i might have to order threw mu-mu this time.

Gustavopc 9th November 2012 03:00 PM

I'm already glad with 3 new songs, that's 6 in two months which is pretty much enough. If there are 4, then yay!

And please, a PV for Melody, ayu (:

TeamAyu2004 9th November 2012 03:05 PM

if she is really doing the 3 for 5 mini albums... that would be 15 tracks.
no wonder they dont want to single these... it would be pointless to single and then put it on the album.

I can imagine the 5 codes will be the documentary/making of HLS tour or maybe a link for pre order of the 15th anniversary BOX SET =.="
Best if it's an exclusive interview of ayu, giving her speech on her reaching 15years in the industry =D

visionfactory 9th November 2012 05:49 PM

I need these covers!! (I have high expectatives since LOVE's ones were so pretty)

Aderianu 9th November 2012 06:00 PM

Thank you, ayu for creepy gifts ^^ I'll buy your CD at hmv

I seriously have a feeling Ayu's going to pull a Kumi and release an A BEST 3 with all of the mini album songs (assuming she'll only be releasing mini albums for the next 4 months).

Though, I am pretty excited for again c:.
Hoping for Orchestra/Acoustic versions of Missing and Melody!

~angel*ayumi~ 10th November 2012 07:16 AM

Mhhh gonna order from YA then, the goodies are not that good imho^^ Not as cute as the LOVE Heart purse^^

LeeLeeNeko 10th November 2012 05:05 PM

ikr, these goodies are so cheap... Why is she using LOVE's cover ? wtf :rolleyes
Maybe that means again's photoshoot is a disaster ? LOL jk

polka-dot-jewel 10th November 2012 07:45 PM

^ They're just temporary images...but I do hope they don't end up recycling the LOVE covers, lol.

SunshineSlayer 10th November 2012 11:51 PM

I'm really getting tired of medium ballads, so I hope this album has more rock or techno. Something more fast and upbeat.

Delicious n Bold 10th November 2012 11:53 PM

^ I feel the same way
I like ballads, but, you know. You can't be angsty forever. How do you expect people to move on Monday mornings?

:yes I want an electronic track not like Party Queen or lady ynamite but something electronic like naturally/ladies night:luv2

FoObY 11th November 2012 12:40 AM

I predict at least one winter ballad. I love those!

adantatu2 11th November 2012 01:10 AM

^yeah, me too.

I don't know if we could get some rock and electronic tracks.
We get Return Road, reminds me, call and letter (rock). And we get Party queen, You & Me, and NaNaNa (electronic). Maybe she is going to release something R&B like ANother Song.

To be honest i really want a magical song with flute and harps, i know it sounds crazy, XD

TeamAyu2004 11th November 2012 01:15 AM

I want something so fast it makes me pee, lol. And then a i want a balled so good I cry, but i cant because I peed so much. =)

but that'll be a big surprise. if ayu releases something like Duty (the song omg that's Ayu's best masterpiece gosh) in 2012 it'll definitely be a hit. :luv2

now i'm hoping again will be Duty-ish. :P

pepper 11th November 2012 07:48 AM

i think its gonna be winter ballad and if there gonna be 3 more songs = then propably one will be like Sweet Season or Red Line. 100% sure.
The 2 songs left might be sth like BRILLANTE or sth upbeat/electronic/rock angsty propably.

freedreamer 11th November 2012 08:35 AM

they should really release the tracklist tomorrow (being a monday..)
since they have completed SOMETHING already

microphone 11th November 2012 08:42 AM

Three ballads would be great plus orchestral mixes.

yeah, i'm predicting this! it just SHOULD be tommorow, and it must be!

and there is a big chance that the tracklist will include song called 'again'. i just see a song called like that XD very ayu~~ but it might just as well means 'mini album. again.' yeah. (or LOVE. again.)

Mari-chan 11th November 2012 12:20 PM

I think, there will be a WInter-Ballad on thin Album.

BlackSilence 11th November 2012 12:24 PM

a winter ballad like You were... would be nice, but i really want some hardcore rock song. I miss those.

i hope we'll get tracklist upcoming week.

Cornie 11th November 2012 12:46 PM

I want tracklist + covers, it would do my Monday:)

ayumint 11th November 2012 12:59 PM

I love her winter ballad, i need CAROLS or JEWEL episode 2^^

elvesword 11th November 2012 02:08 PM

12 songs.....don't become selection again ~

Benikari47 11th November 2012 02:22 PM

I agree, we need another winter ballad. However i'm bound to be dissapointed as nothing can ever beat BALLAD :P That song is the definition of flawless.
Hopefully the tracks are as strong as the one's on LOVE.

Party_King 11th November 2012 03:21 PM

uhhh... i hope for a winter track (à la Together When...)
and for an uptempo track full of energy (like a mix of Sparkle, You & Me, Startin' and STEP you)
and at least o hope for a simple piano-ballad (à la JEWEL, beloved)

It'll prolly be similar to LOVE. 3-4 new songs, remixes and insts.

TeamAyu2004 11th November 2012 05:46 PM

my bigest thing is that they might all be 3 tracks, then they will all appear on a album packaged with a best album...
-.-

that would make me sooo mad, lol...

Gustavopc 11th November 2012 06:29 PM

^ That's why I'm not getting these releases until her 15th anniversary or at least an annoucement of what they'll be releasing around the date... If they're gonna put some of these songs on a best, I hope they include only one from each release...

I have a sneaking suspicion this will happen. Just tack the new tracks together and make a 15 track album at the end of this.

That's why I'm not buying any of these mini-albums.

TeamAyu2004 11th November 2012 06:58 PM

I only find it a problem because I will want to buy it, lol...
I do like having all the releases for my collection so its no big deal...

I just hope they add some killer stuff with it.
I want something more than a best album... I want never before seen videos and crap like that...

ExodusUK 11th November 2012 07:50 PM

Probably something like Koda's 12 weeks of singles and then they all appeared on Best ~second sessions~ or whatever it was called.

TBH I hope they're not all mini-albums because it will be quite silly to have a discography of 7 mini-albums, 13 albums and 50 singles. Though I think I am the only person that counts Memorial Address as an album when I count them her albums in my head.

I definitely agree with you ! BALLAD best ballad ever ! And when watching it in RnR Circus, I was like :luv2 and :scry in the same time !

TeamAyu2004 11th November 2012 08:23 PM

^ why not?
So many people here are counting this mini album as a single...
so lets all count memorial address as an album!

Also.. while we are at it, lets count all her maxi-singles that she had during her peak as albums.... what is that now?
We have 30-40 albums... wow, ayumi... thats a ton of music.

:sigh
people can be ridiculous sometimes.

Delicious n Bold 11th November 2012 08:25 PM

I still think that calling it a best album (Kumi's second best album) was a bad idea, but that's long gone and the album has sold 1.8 million copies, I think.

TeamAyu2004 11th November 2012 09:07 PM

I really dont understand koda's disco really, lol... its so confusing, but I guess it was a best at that time?

Me too!
I can't understand these slightly differences between album/minialbum/maxisingle/single. Theory is easy but when ayu release a minialbum and it's the same like some of her old singles... Maybe is just the time changing the name of the things.
Last single "L" had 3 songs and 2 PV's, remixes are like extra stuff as instrumental.

LMAO WHAT. All I'm saying is I used to personally count memorial address as an album like any other of her albums before FIVE, Love and the future mini-albums. Like if someone asked me how many albums she had in 2003 I would say six (ASFXX--->Memorial Address).

Gustavopc 11th November 2012 10:01 PM

^ ^ Probably it's a mini cause the songs wont be included on a studio album, like FIVE had no tracks on Party Queen, though the songs may someday be included in a compillation.

heymrdj 11th November 2012 11:48 PM

I will be so pissed if she put these songs on a best album!
If she does something like Robyn's Body Language I wouldn't care

GREVOL 12th November 2012 12:17 AM

12 tracks..please NOT intrumentals and bad remixes! That is not a mini album

!Lawi! 12th November 2012 12:26 AM

Really guys, what do you expect? It's almost sure there's gonna be a lot of remixes and instrumental tracks! She's going to release 5 discs almost in a row,and even if one of them is probably going to be a best of, that is a LOT of new songs, you can't expect much more than that !

I tend to count both MA and Five as albums, so, I understand you, as the name says "mini-album" is an album, just shorter. :P

you misunderstand me again.
All I was saying is why not. People are referring to her newest mini albums as singles, so why not just name them whatever you want. This is not about you, I was referring to others.

jyujiw 12th November 2012 01:20 AM

Holy monday. It's time for new pretty information please.

I'm secretly thinking that they will release all the information stuff in just one take xD

I really never understood the idea behind calling SS a compilation, besides the fact that Japan loves bests and her last best album sold like crazy. Or maybe because there was only one album track, plus PVs?

Delicious n Bold 12th November 2012 02:06 AM

So, its proof that avex is not above calling a release something that it is not to generate more hype/$$

It seems like that's the case. It's like calling these 2 Ayu releases Mini Albums when they're obviously not... her old singles got even more stuff on them before. A anyone?

I think it's rather odd that people think there'll automatically be five minis that will be bundled up later in one release. (not saying you are) What happens if there's a best or a DVD in there? They'll just bundle those in two?

The first two so far have been minis, but there is information (apparently) that indicates that the next release is -not- a mini judging from the price. Not sure how they found out, but apparently before 'again' was announced, there was information about an upcoming release that was the same price as LOVE what do you know... we got again (which is the same price/size as LOVE).

Hopefully it's something interesting~ judging from the poll they released for this week, it will probably be a best.

Oh!

There was a bit of an update about filming a PV on Ayu's Twitter. She just wrapped up filming with Maro directed by Masashi Muto in what seems like Hawaii. She tweeted about 'hard boiled scenes' and having injuries that had to be bandaged up.

primavera♥ 12th November 2012 02:55 AM

^what does that mean? Lol injuries?

freedreamer 12th November 2012 02:57 AM

I wonder if they plan to release info about the 1st Jan release along with everything about [again]...they will really create some havoc HAHA

truehappiness 12th November 2012 03:08 AM

Hmmm, probably not? Though if it is actually a best, they won't have to do much for it and just have a tracklist with a spot for a new song or two + PV.

As for this new release, I wonder if we'll be able to tell what kind of song this is from the description she had on Twitter. Perhaps it'll be like Virgin Road?

I think the reason why Koda's album was considered a best was because it was the 12 weeks things...

they could have gone through 100's of tracks and picked those to be considered the best... we dont know what went on behind the scenes.

and quite frankly the A single was fought teeth and nail to be considered a single. Oricon wanted to put it on the album charts but avex refused saying it was a single.

Aderianu 12th November 2012 03:38 AM

Winter release with pv on Hawaii and cover on beach %)

jang-kun 12th November 2012 03:49 AM

^sometimes ayu is really polarizing. XD

Aderianu 12th November 2012 03:52 AM

Even with the same content, mini more expensive than single. We automatically pay for the special "gift"

TeamAyu2004 12th November 2012 04:08 AM

well not really... if you look at ayumi's singles from her heyday, the huge ones...
lets see:
M cost : 1260 yen
to compare to this mini album:
Love cost: 1575 (CD only)
Now counting for inflation its pretty much on par for the same price.
if you want to compare Love to another mini we can do it with Memorial Address and FIVE.
MA (cd only): 2100 (8 songs)
FIVE (CD only): 1890 (five songs)...

LOVE is cheaper than five and we are getting about twice the content.

avex isn't really masking this 'single' as a mini to jack up the price or they would of charged more.
It's so frustrating to see people say this is a single in disguise because avex wants to charge more when it clearly isn't the case.

Mr. Goto 12th November 2012 05:48 AM

Aderianu is still correct tho. Using current pricing singles with tons of content are never priced over 1200 yen (not counting non musical bonuses like photobooks etc.) while mini albums can range from 1500 to 2000 yen, even if it has the exact same content.

The inflation example doesn't work with M btw since within that timeframe the price of music in Japan hasn't increased

TeamAyu2004 12th November 2012 05:55 AM

^ which is why its a mini.

and your comment about inflation doesnt make sense. Its about the inflation of money. things are more expensive today compared to 10 years ago because of inflation.

revolution9292 12th November 2012 11:59 AM

this album seems more promising judging from the composers

You're right. The only reason this isn't a single is because they don't want her streak broken.

TeamAyu2004 12th November 2012 12:14 PM

-.-
you are so missing the point... lol.

What about her album streak? Why not care about that?

freedreamer 12th November 2012 12:42 PM

Another way I see it as being termed mini is because...she wants to release so many songs in this period...she couldnt really be having 3A and 4A singles every month...then how special would that be anyway?

TeamAyu2004 12th November 2012 12:56 PM

^ thats true too.
But I also think the reason why these are singles is because she doesnt plan on putting them on an album... which is what she does with her minis.

now, she might put them together with a best... like a 2 cd thing for the people that dont want to buy all the different minis...

Remember how close were MOON/blossom and especially crossroad and L released to each other? I don't think that's a problem. I don't thing calling something a mini album makes it any more or less special.

progress and You & Me could've also easily been regular singles with a few remixes or double sides. Party Queen could've had singles as well. It's quite obvious that avex is trying to avoid releasing singles. Considering that after the 50th single they haven't released one in 2+ years.

Not really.. she still has the record of having a number 1 album every year since her debut... soooo... by releasing these mini's and her 2 albums this year they broke that record.
If they wanted to keep records they would have stopped releasing everything.

and they were doing a celebration with 50 singles, thats why they released those so close together.
this celebration is about 5 releases back to back.

Gustavopc 12th November 2012 01:14 PM

If I really get into Ivy, I'm gonna be so ****ed up with her staff :grumpy They always leave amazing tracks on singles and now on minis without PVs, it makes me so mad. Even if they release its PV later it bothers me cause it seems that they had no time to prepare the last PV so they just hold it for the album or the next release

Are you sure?
FIVE had 5PV with 5Making off and 5 Full new songs + one extra song(why feat Urata)/orchestra version (it depends of the version)

New/non "version" total= 10 only counting the real new material Songs+PVs
Total=16 "things" and if you buy both versions you have 17

LOVE have 2PV with 1Making off and 3 Full new songs + 5remix/orchestra +4 instrumentals

New/non "version" total= 5 (idem)
Total=15 "things" whatever the version you buy

It's like in fact was FIVE the mini that had twice the content.

So releasing two singles and call them mini-album at the end of the year couldn't be a try of avex of keep the album streak?
Personally I don't think it is, there are many things that says it isn't (releasing in other dates, lack of promotion...)
She have the singles record and have the posibility of increasing it while she doesn't release singles, but years pass and she could loose the 1#album per year.
:tired

BTW I love the new tracklist! I hope we start to get new information and previews soon :D

well but those were not 3A and 4A singles being thrown out every month. 2A,1A,3A (50th being the main reason why it was even 3A)..calling it a mini just justifies that there should be more material than a regular 1A or 2A single and that there would be more PVs with the material...

and yes, i too agree they do not want to sell singles to break the record. but what im saying here is just another way of looking at things and probably how they justify their way of selling. Furthermore, saying that someone released 2 mini albums back to back, just feels more impressive than releasing 2 singles

for my info I was just using the CD only editions because prices get crazy when you add PV's because you have to include what kind of DVD (dual/single)... who you worked with (we dont have prices for that).
I could probably go into the CD+DVD versions and what not, but I dont feel like. :p
but i will say my point is, that it LOVE and again are cheaper then FIVE and you are getting twice the music content... so saying that avex wants to charge more so they are calling it a mini is re-donk-e-lus. =)

it could be that avex is doing the mini to try and extend it, but they aren't. They might even have better luck selling a single. (November was bad, akb, but they didn't have to do this whole on the 8th only) and I dont know how December looks but I know album wise it was already stated that she is going up against someone that she will lose to.

As for the not releasing singles the logic is flawed. Her sales are only going down and most likely she will not turn around unless she starts promotion and stuff. So the longer she waits the less likely it is that she will ever get a number 1 again.
This whole not releasing a single to keep her streak is just beyond... i cant even say it. AND I thought by doing this with her albums she has made it clear that SHE DOES NOT CARE.
She keeps the streak even if she loses a number 1 and people talk about 'well shes not doing it to extend it.' thats crap. she's not extending anything if she just stops releasing singles.

Besides, what makes 1 streak better then another?
Why pick the single streak and let the 1 album per year go away?

Aderianu 12th November 2012 01:46 PM

guys... don't compare LOVE with other mini. FIVE and MA are really mini albums, when LOVE is maxi single with only 3 new tracks, like L.

TeamAyu2004 12th November 2012 01:51 PM

^ but its a mini, thats why there is comparison.

Gustavopc 12th November 2012 02:26 PM

Her sales are really going down but then she still could manage to snack a #1 single on a calm week. Kuu managed to get #1 with GTTT 54k copies, I dont doubt ayu could do so with a good tie in, some mags appearences and two lives on TV. Summer and Winter would be a bad idea, everyone releases all their **** around these times, but she still could top a Fall or Spring week...

But it changes nothing for me as long as she keep on releasing stuff regularly.

Are you just trying to prove what I said or what? I don't get ya? GUILTY did break her string of consecutive #1 studio albums. So, yes really :)

The album record for having a #1 album every year is more or less irrelevant and the streak will seemingly be broken when this year ends as well, considering she hasn't had a #1 album this year. I am sorry your post is a bit confusing :yes

I am sorry. You can deny it as much as you want to, I've no problems with the release formats, call them a mini album or a single, I don't care as long as there's new material around, but some things are just waaay too obvious :thud

Exactly. Not to mention that compared to LOVE, A was a full length studio album. Ultimately it doesn't matter what avex calls it. Compared to MA and even FIVE, LOVE is only a mini album on paper. Imo they should've release LOVE and again as a single mini album release with 7 original tracks + You & Me as a hidden bonus track.

I though that record never existed? There were some studio albums before 2005 which got #2, werent there? Also she couldnt have both A BEST 2 versions on #1 so that would be a broken record as well?
However I do agree that the record is a bit irrelevant, it looks like a forced-to-be-record, way too specific

Indeed. I think it was only for original studio album...I could be wrong though. Both (miss)understood and MY STORY got #1.

What makes that record less irrelevant then the single record?
Why pick one over the other.
The record is just something that the fans are obsessed about. She doesnt care nor does avex. Nothing comes from it.
My point is that even if she hadnt released any albums this year she would still hold the record for longest running streak of albums since debut. Guilty may not have been a number 1, but oricon has her have a number 1 album every year since her debut (because of their crazy years).

and the record is not for original studio albums but just albums, so Best and what not are included.

You'll have to ask people working at avex or Oricon. When they write articles about Ayu stuff like that will be mentioned. She currently has the longest streak of #1 singles by female artists. It's a nice thing one can mention when introducing Ayu the musician to people I guess. It's an accomplishment and only idiots really obsess over it. It's her work, I doubt she doesn't care. Sure it's not the most important thing in the world, but considering her management was obviously striving to achieve such a record by carefully selecting release dates and marketing strategies, it's something that many people have worked on in order to make it happen. So for those it's not so irrelevant as it took years of hard work.

And my point wasn't that she was trying to keep the #1 album per year record, as they don't care that much about it, but not break the single streak one which they seemingly do care about, a lot.
