Wow the first ever official English translations!

relmy 27th November 2012 03:21 AM

Woooah, seriously?! This is awesome.

I wonder who did the translation.

TeamAyu2004 27th November 2012 03:21 AM

coolness!!
to bad its not the full version!

MeyChan 27th November 2012 03:22 AM

Official english lyrics?? O-o LOL

Ayu-me 27th November 2012 03:25 AM

Oh My God, yes! :luv2 A gift for international fans? A sign of Ayu going global? I know I shouldn't get any expectations from this, but I can't help it, I'm so excited. :love
EDIT: And kudos to whoever did the translation! I was a bit scared it'd be bad, but there are no mistakes as far as I can see. :)

Kazeyomi 27th November 2012 03:26 AM

Awesome :D avex finally realized there are overseas fans too lol.

Pieces_of_SEVEN 27th November 2012 03:27 AM

thanks for sharing~!

Catzi 27th November 2012 03:30 AM

Cool! Avex is translating!

mellody 27th November 2012 03:32 AM

I'm so speechless, but we can more understand Ayu's message with this!

ExodusUK 27th November 2012 03:35 AM

lol does Avex realize you add multiple sub options for existing uploads without having to make so many videos?

Agieboyz 27th November 2012 03:41 AM

Whoaaaaaa Indonesian Subtitle???? :shakehead
OMG this is too good to be trueeee!!!! :luv2:luv2:luv2

I was just going to say that. xD

ExodusUK 27th November 2012 03:47 AM

lol at the Korean shade...

mellody 27th November 2012 03:49 AM

Maybe because they want the video hardsubbed?

So I tried comparing some of the lyrics from several languages, and even after translated, some parts still quite different, though the actual message is understandable.

Haha yeah I was wondering that too...

Still, I'm glad that they are adding subs.

Pieces_of_SEVEN 27th November 2012 04:00 AM

I hope they do this with all youtube releases from now on. Maybe they'll even put them on the DVD as a subtitle track option?!?! I wish!

AyUmIXx 27th November 2012 04:02 AM

at first i noticed, avex did it to namie amuro's video message for her dome tour..
and now ayu's. i think they gonna start to do it for other avex artists. maybe kuu's next.
wow this is so cool!

I think that's probably why. They don't want to deal with soft subs probably and it may be easier to just embed them themselves and upload that instead of doing it YouTube's way.

Miltonic 27th November 2012 04:26 AM

this is so awesome i need full translations though!!! I wonder how are we gonna get those..

TeamAyu2004 27th November 2012 04:26 AM

with those soft subs sooooo many things can go wrong.
Avex did the best thing.

Pieces_of_SEVEN 27th November 2012 04:27 AM

^Maybe they will include the subtitle tracks on the DVDs? That would be freaking awesome.

cosmicfirefly 27th November 2012 04:29 AM

I hope they include the full translations at some point, whoever translated them into English did a great job!

Miltonic 27th November 2012 04:29 AM

I guess im going to open my LOVE dvd to see if the option for subs is there

Pieces_of_SEVEN 27th November 2012 04:30 AM

Yeah, I wish I knew who did the subtitles. I'm sure they'll give credit if they put them on the DVDs.

ExodusUK 27th November 2012 04:32 AM

Will be interesting to compare translations
Quote:

Softy and strongly
I want to become someone who can hold you like that
All of a sudden the city is a new color
That bright season has passed us by
We pulled through a lot of evenings
Laughing and crying
Somehow, like that
We walked our way here

Softly and strongly
I want to become someone who can hold you like that
I want to tell you it's okay, over and over
Until you smile
Quote:

When I missed you, I said "I miss you"
When i was lonely, I said "I'm lonely"
Back then, I could tell you how I felt

When I stopped trusting you
You also stopped trusting me
When I stopped understanding you
You stopped understanding me too, didn't you?

I'll just keep moving forward
No matter how much I'm hurt
No matter how many times I'm denied
I can't go back again

When I was lonely, I said "I'm lonely"
Back then, I could tell you
My feelings weren't dominated by myself
When I missed you, I said "I miss you"
I shed tears and after that
My feelings were controlled by the wishes of another
Quote:

Right after I say
"See you tomorrow", smiling
Without thinking it through
I realise that you
Who can say, "see you tomorrow"
Are there for me
You know, if you
Should come to doubt yourself
Don't you see, at that dry moment
Neither the moon nor sun will be able to shine, , will they?
This outstretched hand of mine
Is wishing for a future
Beyond the light, so…

I can hear it, I can feel it
WIth tears shed, just as you are
It's coming through, over there, just like that
It's going to get through, It's going to resound
Just as I am, I ageing to hold on tight to all your sadness

ExodusUK 27th November 2012 04:33 AM

Soft subs is a lot easier, with hard subs you have to re-encore and re-upload with every single video where as with soft subs you can add/remove/edit with no trouble. It's probably more to do with Avex wanting to monitor the statistics for each video/country/language.

Maybe Avex is FINALLY getting that she is adored around the world by people of many different countries and different primary languages?

truehappiness 27th November 2012 04:42 AM

I'm curious as to who they got to translate the different languages. Wonder if they're a fan or just someone they hired who normally does Japanese to XXXXXX translations.

TeamAyu2004 27th November 2012 04:42 AM

plus it probably doesnt cost them anything, lol.

Pieces_of_SEVEN 27th November 2012 04:48 AM

^Exactly! They really should have been putting subtitles on the DVDs for years now! I guess, better late than never!

TeamAyu2004 27th November 2012 04:50 AM

other japanese companies dont do that do they??
Although I have noticed with Blu-Rays anime and movies have been coming with english subs... I guess they are finally cutting out that middle man.

stivenoto 27th November 2012 05:15 AM

Woww...

MV with the others language subtitles....

Is it a sign that Ayu will do a Asia Tour to those countries for her 15th Anniversary??
LOL

I would be so happy....

kinix 27th November 2012 05:35 AM

Seems like a lot of movement towards online service to international fans today!
Ayu's official Line account is now available!
There's Japan and Singapore version! I'm sure there's from other country too! So search for it on LINE!

Bigtop 27th November 2012 05:48 AM

English, Chinese, Thai, Malay, Indonesian...oh my!

^ 浜崎あゆみ. Just change countries to Japan. She's under new.

yulio stevanus 27th November 2012 06:54 AM

i cant't believe , the lyrics really beautiful in indonesian . OMG ! it's surprising !

xLuna&1LOVE 27th November 2012 07:35 AM

Yay ~sweet

macmaayu 27th November 2012 07:50 AM

yay for Thai :D

LeeLeeNeko 27th November 2012 11:18 AM

Oh it's SO cool! But it makes me hate even more the short versions. :(
Now we only have half of the lyrics... ayu please simply add subtitles on your future DVDs! THAT would be awesome~

AyuGAME 27th November 2012 11:20 AM

WOW FOR INDONESIAN SUBTITLE!!!
THAT'S REALLY COOL!!!!

rusuke 27th November 2012 11:27 AM

This is great! But I hope they'll do this in her concert DVDs. I wish!

lightningrod 27th November 2012 12:00 PM

Just watched "Sweet scar", the Chinese translation has a mistake, and the first line got my mind to a dirty place LOL

Delicious n Bold 27th November 2012 12:04 PM

What a nice thing to wake up to
I love missing's lyrics already, so the official one should be just as good

Yuniz_hime 27th November 2012 01:03 PM

OMG! In Malay language too? So happy for that.
I can smell Asia Tour for her 15th anniversary. Hahahaha

andycruize 27th November 2012 01:16 PM

Like dream come true to see Indonesia subtitle in her musicals video. Really happy with that. That's mean ayumi aware with her listeners from Indonesia.

tokyoxjapanxfan 27th November 2012 01:17 PM

I think this one of the best things Avex has done in a long while. The next thing would to stop releasing effing short versions.

KPL 27th November 2012 01:18 PM

ASIA TOUR 2013 coming?

isthisLOL? 27th November 2012 01:18 PM

I think avex may be trying to see how popular the subs are by hardsubbing and uploading a different video for every language. So the ones that hardly get any views can be discontinued.
So, everybody, watch the English subbed vids and show avex we care! If the ones with English subs get many views avex will see how many people from outside Asia are into Ayumi.

tokyoxjapanxfan 27th November 2012 01:21 PM

I'm just scared that... EVERY video she's done will be uploaded with 4 different subtitles lol. I mean, I'd be happy, but my subscription box would be all messed up lol

andycruize 27th November 2012 01:22 PM

Yes. I agree. Avex should stop releasing short versions.

Yeah, they should just upload softsubs, it's not that hard to make... I already did it for a 20min long video with lots of people talking etc, and it didn't take too long even though I'm not used to it, so it shouldn't take a lot of time for an MV at all.

brener 27th November 2012 02:15 PM

it was about time!!

Delicious n Bold 27th November 2012 02:30 PM

Soft and hard subs?
Oh dear....

I hope avex uploaded English subtitles because they know Ayu has English speaking fans.
Maybe this is the first step towards Ayu being released on iTunes again....

Jester 27th November 2012 03:08 PM

OMG, I'm Thai
First they gave us her official LINE and then subtitled on PV.
OMG ASIA TOUR is coming and there's high chance that she'll be in Thailand too.
Finally, OMG I'm speechless now *crying*

Chibi-Chan 27th November 2012 03:10 PM

Wow, avex! You realized Ayu has international fans! ^-^

mizuki-7 27th November 2012 03:20 PM

All major asian countries except South Korea why ?

TeamAyu2004 27th November 2012 03:34 PM

I wonder if all of this means she is going to do another aisa tour??

TeamAyu2004 27th November 2012 03:46 PM

Then they need to get rid of all their Kpop, ASAP.

isnt Avex in a feud with a S. Korean company or group?? (That whole JUNO scandal?) I wonder if it steams from that?

jang-kun 27th November 2012 04:34 PM

hey, don't hate on kpop. some of them are actually on the same, if not better, level as ayu's creative style. they're just being controlled by their fuhcking labels :|

anyway, i wish she'll do another asia tour. namie's going all out with her dome + asia tour next year. who knows? this might be a sign. :D

TeamAyu2004 27th November 2012 04:44 PM

^ i wasnt hating on kpop... but if you are going to have problems with the country or what not then you shouldnt even touch the stuff. :yes

freedreamer 27th November 2012 04:55 PM

I think it's actually to do with the Dokdo island dispute.
like how Kouhaku this year has no Korean artistes taking part as well

truehappiness 27th November 2012 07:10 PM

I think uploading the videos individually with their own set of subs is more visible than the softsubs. I actually have no idea what YouTube videos have caption files/soft subs normally and which ones don't.

heymrdj 27th November 2012 07:31 PM

God, people are never satisfied!

ExodusUK 27th November 2012 07:42 PM

OMG it was just an observation~

JackieRos 28th November 2012 12:04 AM

lmao.
arguing about this too?

this about her video being subtitled in english, nothing else.
you guys kill me sometimes.

Strongbad456 28th November 2012 12:33 AM

This is pretty cool. I want to say this gives me hope of a return to iTunes but I doubt that'll happen.

TeamAyu2004 28th November 2012 01:32 AM

All I kinow about the soft sub crap is that it hardly works.
Why do something like that if half the people cant figure out to use it?
They went the right way with the hard subs.

AyUmIXx 28th November 2012 10:20 AM

they just want the videos to be HARDSUBBED.. that's alL~
so fans can enjoy better.

LONJJONG 28th November 2012 11:44 AM

They should use the caption (CC) feature, so they don't have to upload many videos.
Avex duh -.-

Qt Mashi 28th November 2012 02:48 PM

finally!! and AMAZING!!

i hope they will do that to all her other ones too~

microphone 28th November 2012 04:43 PM

Awkward translation for Song 4 u english subtitles but it was nice of them to do this.

I think it's because Ayu is not popular among the J-pop fans in Korea.
EDIT: I take that back. I didn't know Dokdo island was still an issue. That is likely the reason...

Avex duh -.-

How often do people even use the CC/captioning feature? And how do most people tell that a video has them inserted and in multiple languages?

tetsuo69 28th November 2012 06:25 PM

i like it , not if they only could upload the full pvs with subs after 2-3 weeks of the release date would be great.

truehappiness 28th November 2012 06:41 PM

I wish they would just upload the full videos...

She could get a million -so- fast with each video if they were only COMPLETE. I really don't think anyone LIKES the short version/abridged PVs that are on YouTube. Are they that scared that it'll eat into DVD sales or whatever?

Bad Wolf 28th November 2012 06:49 PM

I think I understand why they don't upload the full ones: because people can just have add-ons to their browsers that let them download the audio off a Youtube video (or download the video itself and rip the audio that way). Yes, piracy is going to happen no matter what but I bet they're thinking this could be a way to slow that progress down. Plus it's like a teaser trailer for the song itself -- AND it's just about the size of the song if it were to be performed on tv shows or something. So I'm not really getting the issue here.

But! The fact that they refuse to upload full versions of the PVs after the singles and albums featuring said PVs are released is just stupid to me. You could argue that it deters from people purchasing the CD/DVD edition but there's an easy way around that. Apparently there are ways to limit who can view a video in what country -- so just make the full PVs available to people outside of Asia and then in the future -- like six months or so -- make the full PVs available to everyone.

I don't think this is asking for a lot, nor do I feel like this request would even be that hard to do on YT. But, whatever. I stopped watching her PVs after "Love songs." I think the only one I bothered with since then was "Return Road."

truehappiness 28th November 2012 07:01 PM

Well, I download HD/high quality full PVs/MVs all the time from YouTube... Though it's not like that means I won't want the real deal later on down the line. While the quality is very good for a 720p/1080p video on YouTube, I don't think it's as good as if you actually owned the Blu-ray or whatever.

In a way, Japanese labels are really slow on the uptake when it comes to digital distribution via online video sites. Before they would just shut down everything but only in the last two or three years have they actually started putting up the videos themselves. They should realize the potential in marketing that posting the PVs in full online has and embrace it completely rather than being hesitant with the short versions or "YouTube edits".

AyuWorld 28th November 2012 11:28 PM

im late but yes!! im so happy to see her PV with the official subs!! plus this came after I met her! OMG seeing the PVs in Malays subs lol seriously im curious to know who did the translations? The english subs seems ok,but the one in malay hmm some are just awkward and too direct translation, lol, but still great!!!

finally they knew that ayu had lots of fan in other parts of the world other than Taiwan,Hong Kong and China :D

I kinda feel that we gonna get a Asia Tour maybe?

It most certainly isn't, the quality difference is quite extreme(I'd say a good 1080p youtube rip is at best 15-20% of the quality of a Bluray), but I don't think most people care. If they get a decent quality for free, why buy a higher quality? Or at least I feel like that's avex' mindset.

relmy 29th November 2012 02:32 PM

YouTube at HQ is definitely better than the DVD they package with albums though.

I don't think Avex will be doing album+blu-ray any time soon, they save stuff like that for ££££££ box sets, so it doesn't matter what Avex upload.

Not necessarily. A DVD tends to have better, stronger colours than the files on youtube do and a good upscale(even an automatic one) from a DVD could look either better or worse depending on what is going on in the clip, how much movement etc. Most ballad PVs probably would look better from youtube, but anything with choreography or fast cutting -> DVD.

Of course, the better colours will only show on a good monitor that is set up properly.
