I like all tracks except Sweet scar.
Wake me up is everything that has been missing from her music. That's fierceness, that power, that feeling that the song HAS IT ALL. Not to mention, the bridge is flawless. snowy kiss is really nice - it's different yet classic. The chorus kind of drags I wish it had developed a bit more but it is nice. Ivy is wonderful. Her best ballad in a while (minus Missing). Definitely better than Sweet scar. Hard to pin whether or not this is above snowy kiss for me but it's beautiful. |

Okay, so despite my promise to not listen to "snowy kiss" and "Ivy" so I hear some songs completely fresh when I get my hard copy of the album , I decided to listen anyway.
People's comments about "snowy kiss" made me think that song was going to blow me away like "Microphone" and "BRILLANTE" did when I first heard them, but while "snowy kiss" is definitely good, and absolutely unique and memorable, for me it falls short sounding too chaotic and embarrassingly unpolished. There are so many things in this song are right, and there are also so many things that are wrong. But maybe it will grow on me... "Ivy" is, bluntly put, beautiful but also a bit boring. After "Party Queen" I thought Ayu had finally reached a higher vocal finesse and it would only get better with time, but both "LOVE" and "again" have served to prove me wrong. Her vocals were unimpressive and seemed almost unfeeling against the beautifully dramatic and emotional music playing, but that's just my opinion. "Wake me up" I think is a great song, better than "Sparkle" and "Party queen" with more power and finesse, and "Sweet scar" is equally good but in a different way with beautiful vocals and music. Both songs are very good, but not incredibly amazing. So my opinion on this mini is "good, but not awesome". There's still a chance for the remixes sway my opinion, but I doubt they will. The remixes on "LOVE" didn't change my overall view on the album, I don't think "again"s remixes will be any different to me. |

well she did those songs a while ago, because everytime i listen to them it seems like i have heard somethign simmilar already lol
i've gotta say i love all of them but Ivy the least, it has too much stuff that's unnescesarry in it, and Ayu's vibrato in a couple of places got me cringin'. I kinda have hard time listening to it, but i do like the melody i just think they should have layered it down a bit, like some of the back vocals and some random instruments, it starts nice but the chorus go messy..... In my ears it's the weekest out of the 4. And to me it isn't even NEAR to where Melody was. I think i love Sweet scar, especially the intro...and for it being simple and airy and a little bit haunting. I like her vocals somehow, mostly because of her vibrato flowing so freely and naturally and melody. At first i thought it was way too plain, but there are bits and pieces that come out intrumentally here and there that gives it a little bit of a sprinkle :) Snowy kiss is very "Love songs" but with better vocals and way better arangement. Definitelly slays Last angel (tho I never was a fan of that song anyway *shrugs*) to death and beyond. Wake me up..... THAT'S A FREAKING POWER ENGINE. and i adore that "Anatta no yo" part >D i have nothing bad to say about it lol |

I think this release is fantastic. All of the songs on this release are wonderful. I don't really have any complaints and that's a first in a long time. I enjoy all of the songs on this release more than those on LOVE and also those one PQ (but that's her least enjoyable album to my ears ....)

Certain parts of Ivy's melody reminds me of Missing, 1:24 to 1:40 in particular. Definitely my least favorite of the bunch too.. it doesn't go anywhere, it's like Beloved.. nice sounding but dry all together.
However this release is amazing, even Wake Me Up (which annoyed me to death at first) i love now :P |
Why always compare a song with another to make song X appear less valuable than song Y?

It could only have been better (IMO) if we had an album including these songs, Missing, you & me, song 4 u and melody. Think about it, these last songs are incredible. Wake Me Up is so cool, fierce, sexy and catchy!! I really love it. Nothing can replace the iconic and legendary Sparkle, but this is a REALLY good attempt Sweet Scar is so beautiful. It is so calming, which some people might find boring, but that makes it really special. The arrangement is epic Ivy is great. I was expecting something more original honestly, and not this. Still, the chorus is so ****ing amazing OMG. Im so impatient to read the lyrics. snowy kiss is such a surprise. I was expecting a cute winter ballad, and we got this LOL. If there is a word to describe it is INTENSE. The arrangement is once again so amazing. It looks like a total grower, but i like it a LOT. The chorus is so catchy, i love it so much!! Overall, this is such an strong release, im really impressed. 15 years later, she continues impressing me, she is a real music goddess |
after hearing the full version of Wake me up, I would love for her to open her concert with this in the next tour!!

Each of the tracks on again has its unique flavour, but I feel that the potential success of both LOVE and again would increase if their tracks were combined to form an actual mini-album like Memorial address without the remixes and etc. Oh wells...

Wake me up - song of the album. Flawless arragments (it's not "rock" though according to information) catchy melody. Verses, bridges and chorus fits perfectly each other. I missed THAT song so much. Very powerful lyrics to cheer up dead. Amazing atmosphere and lyrics screaming "run for your life!". The only minus are her engrish, but I don't really care now. Score: 9,5/10 (-0,5 for engrish)
Sweet scar - I missed slow Ayu songs without cheesy ballad atmosphere. It feels diffrent from her "ballads". It's NOT a ballad. It's a slow song. Really touching arragment with violin. Lyrics are cheesy tough. LOVE-longing theme made it a little weaker. Still a strong song. As a "hardcore fast and rock Ayu song" i will give... Score: 8/10 snowy kiss: Props for not being a ballad and being a electro power track! I really like the chorus but verses (they are not bad though) DON'T fit dramatic chorus (they can't make their mind with arragment?) I reaaaly like MUSIC in this track. And + for not having a feeling that song is too long. I don't feel the lenght at all! I like the track, but as I said, there it lacks a sense of direction. It leave me with feeling this song could be better. I don't feel it like I feel Wake me up. I have same feelings for Return Road (but RR fits my taste better). Also minus that verses reminds me of Lady Dynamite... which is not a good thing. Score: 6,5/10 Ivy - there is a lot of things that make this song enjoyable. But still, it's a filler ballad... I REALLY like the "Ah...." in the beginning of the chorus. But after first listening I don't recall the melody... It's a warming song, but forgetable. Score: 5,5/10 |
Sweet scar is deffo THE MAIN track for me on this EP. snowy kiss is cool, but it's something she has tried before and has never failed. Ivy is nice and in a way different. It's interesting, it has yet to grow on me. Wake me up is so-so, it's alright & listenable, miles better than You & Me, but it's not as good as the other tracks.

Everything in high quality is just wow. The arrangements are so superb! I knew I got taskebab~tasuku vibes from Wake me up.
IMO, I feel like Sweet scar is a song that would definitely have been released by any Ayu at any point in her career which is a good thing since she's changed so much but it's definitely a 'quintessential' Ayu sound, it's just unfortunate that it came out now when a lot of people are like "MEH UNSURE" because it's 2012 and not 2002. snowy kiss is still awesome. It's been a while since we had a song like this really in a sea of medium-ish tracks. A shame that it may go underappreciated. Ivy is surprising in full. Vocally, I wish she went a bit deeper. I think these minis are what happen when Ayu condenses her 'albums' into little bites since I could see entire 'arcs' forming from each track. There's the arc that Wake me up ends up in, there's the arc with Sweet scar and ballads/slow tracks, there's the snowy kiss crazy!insanity arc where she's screaming at everything, and then there's the short Ivy 'ending' tracks like untitled ~for her~ and such. |

Omg. It's a really solid and great mini. Diverse, innovative, different, uplifting, sad, unpredictable and creative. Everything in just 4 tracks.
Wake me up is the song that everyone who likes the fierce side of Ayu was waiting. With a great energy and a combination of elements that flows very well. Sweet scar imo is the track of this mini, mysterious, with great vocals, a perfect chorus ending in a slow track yet nothing like her ballads. snowy kiss is a great surprise, nothing like a winter ballad as everyone was waiting for, it's very chaotic, unpredictable. My only complain is about its lenght and the sudden ending. It should be shorter. Ivy is nice, not the greatest thing ever, maybe it's a grower. It's a perfect ballad for the japanese public I think. It does look a bit pale in comparison with the others, but still, it's pretty good. |

snowy kiss... is sort of monotonous. I dig the arrangement and the vocals, but the melody is quite awful in the way it sort of drags on and on... It has that discordant "nails on a chalkboard" effect that I think a lot of TK compositions (see: Namie, globe, TRF) have. Oddly enough, I loved every TK song on Love songs... I normally dislike his brand of J-pop. Ivy is unmemorable. It doesn't move me in the slightest. Maybe I'll change my mind when the translation is posted. To be honest, I'm really suspicious that You & Me, snowy kiss, and Ivy were all created and pitched to Ayu during the Love songs sessions. And for sure Sweet scar is an old DAI song out of the vaults. I also wonder if all the recent Yasuhiko Hoshino songs are from the vaults as well. If I thought these were brilliant songs, I'd be fine with it, but they just seem like songs that weren't strong enough to make a previous release, which makes the project seem rather uninspired... |

I like how each song is so different from each other. I'm really enjoying Snowy Kiss, Wake Me Up, and Sweet Scar is growing on me. Ivy is your typical ballad, but I do like how it's got some power behind. People were wondering when Snowy Kiss was going to end? I felt the same way about Ivy... Completely suprised with this release. I found Party Queen enjoyable but only enjoyable. This is way better and if i had choice i'd go with this mini! Maybe Ayu has really woken up, can't wait for what's coming after A-classical. Love it!

snowy kiss is good and I love her voice (they really edited the pitch on this one but I love it), but it does kind of go on, and on... and on. It's the first time a really good song does not need to be replayed right after, as after you finish with one listen you already feel like you had it on replay for three playthroughs.

Damn, this mini album blew. me. AWAY.
I had to get used to Wake me up, but when I did, damn I can't stop playing it! Love the part where she belts out "I cannot let you GOO~~~". Sweet Scar. Oh gosh. Brings out so many good feels and nostalgia. Like I feel like it belongs to her I am/RAINBOW era. Snowy kiss totally took me by surprise. It IS a bit monotonous though, and I feel like it's like sending mail pt. 2. While it is pretty catchy, it'll just take me some time to get used to, like Wmu. Ivy...well, I feel like this would've been better on LOVE. It doesn't hit the fan like Sweet Scar does, but it's nice. It's too much of a filler-sounding ballad though, which does leave me sort of disappointed. The song title sounded so cool and everything v_v. All in all, again totally makes up for the mediocre-ness of LOVE. Can't wait to hear the rest of the remixes! (And Wake me up/snowy kiss instruments). AND THE PVs. I have a feeling Sweet scar and snowy kiss have very interesting twists. Thanks to again, MY PASSION FOR AYU HAS BEEN REIGNITED. A CLASSICAL, I AM READY FOR YOU NOW. |

I really love Ivy and Wake me up, they're great songs. I'm not sure if I really like snowy kiss yet, my first listen of it didn't excited me too much. Sweet scar is just kinda nice for me, probably not a song I'll listen to a lot.

i thought this album is supposed to showcase her creativity but i don't hear it (may be a little bit in the arrangement of snowy kiss otherwise the song is a typical jpop ayu tune). The upbeat tracks in the first half of PARTY QUEEN has more creativity than this whole mini-album IMO.
It could be the lyrics but i haven't read them though. snowky kiss doesn't sound like 6 minutes to me but on the other hand Ivy sounds like an hour long... |
