again pvs?
what's everyones opinions...
i had to make this thread because i was eager to voice how dumb and pointless they all were LOL for such good songs you think theyd have had more meat to the bone, each pv could have had it all summed up in maybe 30 sec |
Stupid piece of garbage #1, Stupid piece of garbage #2 and Sweet Scar being the only decent one is not enough to make the mini album worth having videos. The other 2 fall far enough in the trash category to be better suited on Party Queen.
Hope the sales stay under 15,000 and she doesn't bother making more music until it becomes about her talent again and not stupid publicity stunts that involve video trilogies with every fake boyfriend Avex hires. Her talent is why I started listening to all her music back before Moments and Forgiveness. Her managers don't seem to realize she has talent and keep trying to drive sales in insanely stupid ways tat only succeed in driving away her fans. Enough with Avex, find a way out of the contract, form her own label and show the talent she once showed and outsell every Avex artist. Because this is just getting to disgusting to buy anything since L. |

, then you are no real fan. if you really know what a good video is like, then makeone and then show us, or just SHUT UP! |

if you don't like how the PVs turn out then just don't watch.. what you said by hoping the sales should stay under 15K is just really TOO MUCH. what kind of fan are you? ------------ I actually quite like the PVs, Sweet scar my favorite among the 3, of course. the other two, wake me up and snowy kiss, another trilogy along side with You &Me just liked last angel, love song and virgin road trilogy but with different storylines. I think the execution of LA, LS and VR story lines and directing are much better than WMU, SK and Y&M. WMU and SK storylines are very common lovey dovey/break up PVs, but for ayu, it's her first time to have such PVs, so i think it's kinda refreshing. I like snowy kiss more though ,but the repetitive violence fighting scenes are really too much LOL, what i like is how they reconnected some scenes from Y&M. Sweet Scar, is very simple but it's really good. ayu is so beautiful in the PV. her hair, her natural look just look perfect. when she looks at the camera, i just got goosebump. so Sweet Scar > snowy kiss > wake me up |

generally, i am pleasantly surprise at how the simplicity of the PVs bring out a complicated story.. :D |

Ignore that hatred.
I really liked Sweet Scar, she looked so beautiful, and the pv was clean and nice. Especially when she stared to the camera I got chills! For Wake Me Up and Snowy Kiss I didn't really get it. Suddenly there is a threesome love, then there is a fight. Too many open question: why, what and especially who is that guy. The Love Songs and vogue-faraway-seasons had a flow, and I missed that in this trilogy. However, especially Snowy Kiss got my attention. So much was going on in there. |
Sweet Scar is among her top videos IMO, simply stunning.
And I'm surprised people are trying to figure out the triology storyline: Ayu was dating the model, Maro was a friend The guy ignored Ayu, Maro was nice to her, she dumps him and be with Maro They are all lovey dovey, but it doesn't last long They break up and Ayu is alone. The end. |
and we all know who the model is supposed to be!!!
|
watched the PVs 3 times (+ You & Me), still make me not understand how the story's flow ==" The Love song trilogy video better, nuff said.
|
^ really? I understand this trilogy a lot better then the Love Songs one...
lol... I still dont get that one. |

everything flows for me :)
i thought it would disappoint me but they were nice to watch. im not someone who gets hooked onto PVs unless their crazy amazing like Microphone and SLT..but i dont want to compare works either coz thats pointless...judge the work for what it is, so yea. I think Sweet scar is beautiful yet simple though..it works great :) |
yea, i also understand this trilogy more than the love songs ones but of coz i like the mystery of it.
after rewatching wake me up and snowy kiss, i think the songs flow well with the videos. though i don't really think wake me up lyric is match to the video. |
well, they were okay and I was happy how beautiful she looked there
but I guess they're a one-watch material |
In summary,
- ayu's dating a foreigner - Maro suddenly showed up act like their best friend - the foreigner doesn't want to sex with her - she's finding out that Maro is eavesdropping her in hotel terrace - she's breaking up with that foreigner and dating Maro - she's having fun together, buying groceries, to festival, etc. - she's start to fight with Maro - Maro kicked ayu out of the car's door - she's fighting with Maro a lot - ended with Maro leaving ayu's alone in the top of hill The question is, how the hell the beginning of You & Me PV and the end of Snowy kiss PV is different? Is all of it just ayu's imagination for being picked up by Maro, or just a metaphor? Or maybe, it just like a same evil circle? Wake me up > Snowy kiss > You & Me > Snowy kiss > You & Me > ........ I guess I'm thinking too much.... Sorry for my bad grammar btw :) |
I actually like the trilogy.
Domestic violence is more common than people think, and if I'm wrong; wasn't Ladies night a song about domestic violence too? To help her friend get out or something? Maybe this trilogy was for someone that is close to her? Maybe she's trying to show the world why it ended with Many? Ayu isn't a zombie, her videos usually have a deeper meaning behind them, I'm pretty sure she didn't make this for "fun". |
Much better than the Love songs trilogy. I'm happy with these pvs and I can see myself watching them many times again :yes
I just hope they can move away from these type of pvs and come up with more creative and mind-blowing stuff! |
I thought I wouldn't like the trilogy, but it turned out better than expected.
Not her best PVs but they're more enjoyable than Love songs trilogy imo. In the other hand, Sweet scar it's her best PV since ages imo :heart. Simple yet stunning. Ayu is super adorable and gorgeous, also the snow scene is.. :luv2 but I agree with this Quote:

I just don't understand how anyone thought snowy kiss was ok to release as it is. It looks like an early 90s video in its editing and presentation. I understand what they were trying to convey but it was just terrible. Wake up was boring too. Sweet scar was pleasant but nothing ground breaking. I would have loved something different for this trilogy but then I hated you & me too. The best PV for these releases so far was Missing and even that one wasn't amazing. Hopefully one of these releases will have a really good PV.
|
For the first time in a long time I REALLY LOVE these PVs. I can see how some would find them boring for sure because in a sense they are technically boring. Ayu doesn't always have to do flashy and deeply meaningful PVs for me to be happy, every PV doesn't have to have the production value of GREEN or the complexity of in plot of Return Road. Wake me up was a pretty typical pop music video for many musicians in America but it was fun and had a dark plot at the end, pretty cool, I didn't get bored with it, watched it all the way through and the end came before I knew it. Sweet Scar was a little boring and weird (like what she was doing, not very many people walk around hugging a pillow for a while and then sings to a plant) but the ending where she's in front of the painting and that stare is gorgeous, very lovely. snowy kiss, this was my favorite it was emotional, deep, and dark. Yes it was kinda "white trash-y" but we all go through these times in our life and I thought the slow motion was cool. Now I'm going to go watch these again!

Ayu's music videos was art, but now she subsided with doing great music videos. So sad, because with the Extended Play "Again" she has since long time ago good songs. Now we can follow her relationship problems until "A Winter Best" lol.
|
i'm really not crazy about this trilogy. the only scene i really liked was her sitting on top of the car at night singing. sweet scar was ok though. i felt totally mesmerized by her eyes. like this: O_O

exactly my thought when I saw wake me up the first time |
I'm not really into her romance & relationships PVs; give me her brand of slightly outre, artistically deep, thematically universal, usually vaguely unsettling videos. So this release was a huge letdown for me at least in the visual arena. :\
|
Sweet Scar is good !!! I thought it could be boring, but is nice.
And the other 2 pv's are OK, plz ayu stop with the love story trilogy's videos |
i don't like all these pvs... as in the content, the storyline of the pvs... the way they shoot the pv is nice though.. but i don't like the fact that Ayu is in those complicated situation and quarreling situation...
seriously, what is with this fighting and quarreling thing with Maro? is she trying to hint something??? that is exactly what's in my mind when i watched those three pvs... totally ==______=="""" and sweet scar is beautiful but totally boring!!! i'm crying not becoz its beautiful, it just bores mi!! i'm sure ayu can do so much more better than this right?? overall i'm extremely disappointed with the PVs .. not the songs... |
Honestly I don't like the concept of Wake me up and snowy kiss..
I love these songs! but PVs waste the songs... Sweet scar is simple and imo this pv is the best out of three |

As a consequence, her latest releases are anything but safe... Party queen is at some points far darker and more personal than her past albums... She is openly supporting minorities now (and not only gays) and lately she is having a far more "human" image, instead of the jpop diva we are used to. I don't think the triology has anything to do with her personal life TBH... It for sure is something that goes totally against her usual image... Both for being way too natural and way more agressive on a relatable way than what people expect from her. And maybe this was actually planned during the same state of mind the actual AT12 was, and that's why it portray a failed relationship. With all of this in mind, it's actually beliveable that she hasn't planned to announce her relationship with Maro... Cuz it's not like again is saying they are a couple... they are most portraying a failed relationship on the project. And I believe she used Maro on both the videos and the photos because he both has a more common look than Shuya and because as a couple, they have multual trust and chemistry to work though both the romantic and agressive scenes. |
true, i agree with the fact that she use Maro for such PVs as they are couple...
seriously, i feel whether she wants to kill her idol image little by little or what.. i still feel her releases shouldn't be just on such storyline... it's kinda draggy... especially when the releases are almost close to each other... human image or queen diva image... definitely there are more aspects or perspectives than these... =\ |
I'm kinda disappointed by these PVs.. They're nothing special. not bad, but not amazing either..
|
PVs are generally OK, they're just not that I want to see now. btw the trilogy would look much much much better if it was the soundtrack to the movie.
|
I think sometimes as fans we over-read some of these things. It is true that Ayu sends messages to her fans through her videos but often she isn't sending a direct message, we will never know if what is in her PVs is actually happening we can only guess with opinions. From my personal experience and opinion Ayu mixes truth and fiction, most of her PVs portray some truth and some fiction. As for snowy kiss, maybe she had a violent fight with a partner in the past but maybe it's not Mario. Maybe Ayu has gone through domestic violence or maybe she hasn't. One thing is for sure there are plenty of musicians that have exposed their personal life much more through their music and like Ayu's fans they respect these musicians for their honest opinions, we like them because they expose their life in artistic form. Chihiro Onitsuka is/was clinically depressed (really bad) and she tried to commit suicide and had domestic violence and a dark past, she sings openly about it and thats why her fans love her. Ayu sings in two different ways she either sings/acts about her personal life metaphorically or literally (No Way to Say PV / Microphone PV/song) or she sings/acts about universal issues or subjects (snowy kiss PV / Lady Dynamite PV)
As for ruining her image, Ayu doesn't care and yet she does. She does as she pleases and listens to her fans. Every move she makes is thought out well and she hopes her fans will follow only when we stop being her fan will she either stop singing or change what she is doing. As long as Ayu does what she thinks is best and what we would like, we will like it and from the looks of it we still do. Will she satisfy everyone every time? No, that's impossible. On the issue of what I think of the PVs I can't stop watching snowy kiss it maybe simple, violent and sad but it is very intense and it's a PV I think that was long due for Ayu. I like this "real person" direction Ayu is doing it's more personal to each fan and it's much more relatable in subject and video. I haven't gone through domestic violence (and I hope I never do) but the PV was very well directed (I think) and fits the song well. Whenever the slow motion fight scenes come I think of two eagles fighting each other (especially when the feathers start to come out of the pillow) it's really emotional and you can feel the anger through the song and video combined, my favorite Ayu PV since BRILLANTE (although how beautiful you are was wonderful too) |
its kinda funny, because I was the one going around not thinking they will be any good because, well, its ayumi hamasaki and I have come to expect bad things from her videos... but these are...
just... I'm happy with them. :yes |
I like the 3 pvs.
Sweet Scar is amazing imo, she's stunning and the pv is so meaningful, I love it :heart As for the other two, I actually like them, not her best pvs, but they make a lot more sense than Love songs triology for me. I don't get why being so mad about Maro in them. When You & Me came out no one cared about Maro in it (actually, I remember a lot of people saying it was one of her best pvs back then), but now that people know they are actually dating it suddenly became a bad thing to use him in the pvs? Well, considering these are connected to You & Me, it only makes sense to continue using him in them... But, I also hope she won't release these kind of triologies anymore... Actually, it would be great if she could just stop working with Masashi Muto for a while imo. |
I really like "Sweet Scar", but I can't stand the other two.
|
Snowy kiss: Honestly the song is not my fave song from her, but it is still pretty good, the pv lets us see a different side of her although again is not my fave from her it is a nice piece to the story.
Wake me up: Has to be one of my fave songs now I am so addicted to this song absolutely love it. The pv although many of you seem to hate it. I actally like it. It lets us see a more fun and casual side to Ayumi, like what she might be like as Ayumi Hamasaki and not just Ayu the artist. a more personal side to her. Its nice to see her just having fun and what not. And it helps that the song is epic! Sweet scar: The song is pretty but I doubt I'll ever listen to it without watching the pv. The pv itself is artistic and all but honestly very boring. |
hate them! the only one I like is snowy kiss because I love the song alot.
|
her pvs have really gone down and the songs are just okay.
|
okay, apparently what Japanese fans don't like is that Ayu's constantly using her lovers in her video materials. I think I agree with that, because, really, it's not very good, Ayu :no
other than that, I have rewatched my friend's again DVD for a couple of times, and I have come to conclusion that no, I do not like these new PVs. because they look very very cheap, I think, and kind of boring. the lightning is bad, the acting is even worse. like a 90s video, as someone pointed it out. like a very bad 90s video. I couldn't really watch Snowy kiss PV, no matter how I liked the song. because there were too many things meshed together on repeat in a 6-min video |

i love ayu till the day i die but i'm not going to lie and be like "wow there's sooo many meanings in wake me up omg ayu please keep making fun trilogy videos with your boo" honestly i AM a fan, but i DO hope that if this flops it gives avex the wake me up call they needed to stop milking her like a cash cow saigodansu, if you're reading this eff the haters cause we're both fans except our heads aren't stuck in the clouds. we accept that some will love this and some WILL HATE IT. geez... i think veterans like ayumisreal and truehappiness are the only people with fair opinions around here |
trilogies PV suck. Getting sick of it zz..I'm a fan all right..
Those are decent songs which deserve better PVs haha |
The songs are all amazing. I really like them.
The PVs though are pretty dullsville, and I really don't like the use of domestic violence as a plot point in her songs. I guess it feels cheap and tacked on, which isn't really fair for such a serious issue. She looks nice in all 3 PVs but the story is so basic that it hurts - I miss the days where even simple stories could be powerful like how you can read the story in RAINBOW as one of self-acceptance. So simple but so moving. Ayu's character is with a foreign guy who fans take as Mannie, she demonises him as uncaring and then cheats on him instead of just calling it quits. Who is really the sympathetic character here? When her words are about the difficulty of moving on from disappointment and being let down, she is pictured doing something the average person would find just as cruel. I feel really confused about the whole thing and I'm not sure where she can go to from here. She's been divorced for almost as long as she was married - how much longer is this issue going to keep popping up? I thought Return Road was the end of it and You & Me seemed like the start of a new bright era for Ayu but she seems trapped in whatever period of disappointment (?) she had with Mannie and just keeps harping on about it when it only seems natural that she should be making fun, happy videos or at least something uplifting now that she has a new lover. Not making dramasone PVs about cheating on a former lover stand-in with her new IRL lover. I really miss the feeling of Ayu being in control of the world around her. Her PVs are a bit of a hot mess at the moment and I'm not getting the magic out of them that I used to. Bah, so confus. |
Quote:

Her PVs have been really hit or miss for a long time, since like.. MY STORY.
'again' PVs are rather disappointing, but I know she has the potential to wow us again. |

If anyone has the again pvs in HD/DVDrip/HQ, I'd be so happy if anyone reuploaded them; the links at the download section are removed by mediafire :/

Darn it, I really love Wake Me Up as a song, but the PV I hate. -_-; I'm getting tired of this summery type PV, car, beachy stuff already Ayu. Please do interesting video again? :(
