$24 Singapore dollars?
That's like $20 Canadian, the normal price for deluxe albums and stuff
So it's not bad at all lol

Thanks for the update! On an off-topic note, I was at Cathay Gramaphone Japanese section and a shop assistant noticed me staring at the Ayu CDs and made this random remark "Oh Namie Amuro sold within the day but this girl hardly moved" :(

Telling the truth yeah, but nobody asked him or her lol

And I feel like there's no need to buy these 2 now since the content will be in the upcoming album.

yoshino 7th January 2013 11:25 AM

I think most people bought namie's CD like really really fast cause she came to Singapore like 1 week after the album was released and there was that lucky draw thing to get a chance to meet her. LOL. I was one of them since there was a "rush" to get it.

KarenPang 13th January 2013 06:43 AM

I was at Bukit Panjang Road earlier on so I popped by Popular's CD-Rama & saw them selling both editions of again

CD only / Taiwan press - S$18.95

CD + DVD / Hong Kong press - S$22.95

For the CD + DVD edition , CD-Rama is giving away a free poster for it

That's when you grab one off the shelf and say "Now she has".

On a totally unrelated note, Karen, I remember you say that our country cannot import in the Japanese press of CD+DVD because of copyright issues right? Then how come they can bring in Japanese press CD+DVD of Girls Generation 2nd Japanese album?? The censorship board revised the rules already??

I guess MDA is able to give the green light to Girls Generation's 2nd Japanese album to get sold here due to the fact that their Japanese material is made by Universal Music Japan

Artistes who're under Universal , their DVDs of their material are region free (be it for singles or albums or concert DVDs) unlike other artistes who're not under Universal Music Japan . I myself know as I support/buy a few artistes whose material are made by Universal Music Japan

As such , Japan press of singles/albums/concert DVDs are usually not sold here but I suppose for Girls Generation's case , this's 1 of the rare cases their Japanese material's being sold here

So yeah :O

No it's not due to copyright issues.
We can import in Jp press - local hmv sells jp press of the cds. And I bought my Kinki Kids album japanese press from another music store a few years ago (freaking ex btw)

DVDs we dont get jp versions usually due to the region code restriction. Singapore is region 3 while japan is 2? Hence non of the japanese dvd will work on most of our players.

kinix 14th January 2013 12:59 PM

MDA only review and censors the content. Ultimately it's up to the distributors to send the content for review.

But I think it's stupid that they brought the Girls & Peace JPN press because the last i checked, the DVD is region 2. Hhmmm.. anyway..

I already wrote in my previous post that Girls Generation's Japanese material is manufactured by Universal Japan & that all artistes who're under Universal Japan , the DVD for their material is region free

I support artistes who're under Universal such as BENI , Aoyama Thelma , Fukuyama Masaharu & Hilcrhyme . I buy their CDs that all comes with DVDs which are region free

Also like what kiseki89 stated , it's not so much on copyright issues but more so on region codes on the DVD . Japan's DVD's region code is 2 while for S'pore , its DVD region code is 3

And also , HMV in actual fact used to sell Japan press / CD + DVD of artistes a very long time ago but because of the whole DVD region code conflict for both Japan & S'pore , they scrapped selling them after getting complaints from customers on why they cannot play the DVDs at home

Well, years ago, when DVD players are region lock a lot of people just bought those Japanese DVD without checking, a lot of people are unable to play and kept asking for refunds, thus HMV do not bring those in, unless customers are to preorder with them with a deposit and staff will inform them no refund in the case of incompatible region code.

It was recently this 2 years they start to bring in Japan region 2 disc, as most DVD players are region free and a lot of people have Blu ray player, which can play all region DVD.

Strange that people will pay so much for a J-press item but not be aware of the region code issue. I would have thought that if they were enough of a fan to fork out for J-press, they would be informed about such things haha.
