A great start for the year!! I think CDL boosted the preorders for this album and perhaps for the new studio album as well!

i didn't expect this to go #1 at all, but yay, good start of the year for ayu :3 that's good

For now ayu is still #1 on jbook so she might get another day at #1.

Will probably drop to 2,000-3,000 tomorrow :)

But that 2# place isn't a new release but last week's last day, right? then tomorrow we'll get sales of the new releases.

i hope it'll spike up like again on it's 2nd day...

Don't forget that the other releases are a week old...

Good first day for a remix album :)

Ayu released a day early so keep that in mind since most new releases are not in the chart yet. This means that she will have an extra day of charting compared to the other new releases but hopefully that is enough.

hahaha gosh...guess its doing slightly well because its a proper album, and it has many of her well-loved hits and the new arrangements are actually really good. keep it up A Classical!

i am pretty satisfied with the sales ^^ hoping that Ayu will start off 2013 with a No.1 album "finger crossed" that it will stay at No.1 for tomorrow as well

well if the new releases dont sell above 10K then im confidence to say she will get #1. how ironic a remix album got #1 while her 2 minis not even in top 3.

The minis didn't sell THAT poorly did they? O_o I thought they at least made the top 5.

I think LOVE made top five but again was like #7 or so?

LOVE had to go against two JUJU best albums (100k~ each) and an ARASHI 2nd week (97k), while again was up against two YUI best albums (115k~ each), a Mr. Children album (not first week, 82k), a Yumi Matsutoya best that is a super good value (not first week, 74k), and an EXILE best album (380k). again was also outsold by the BIGBANG release thing which is kind of sad but eh....

It's not so much that they sold that poorly, but that a lot of things sold very well. Also, those releases actually got promoted which helps imo.

again's sales were rubbish. It was a combination of that and numerous higher selling releases that resulted in the bad chart position.

These sales are even worse - don't forget that. #1 because competition is low, not because the Japanese are lapping up a classical release. In the weeks again and LOVE sold, this would have placed terribly.

Is this the first time we've seen Ayu acknowledge her sales so openly? Most of what she does points to the fact that sales don't matter (especially with these releases). Maybe she cares more than we think.

Also - correct me if I'm wrong, but day 1 sales are going to go towards today's weekly chart. Sales from today until next Tuesday will count for next wednesday's chart without including A Classical day 1 sales?

No, a fan tweeted to her to tell that she got #1 in Oricon. She retweeted it and said Thank you.

The weekly sales were released 12 hours or so before A Classical's first day was revealed.

Basically, how it works usually is...

CDs release on Wednesday -> CDs chart for 6 days -> weekly sales are announced on Tuesday morning -> Tuesday evening's sales start a new Oricon week and are posted at around 7pm/8pm (there are usually no new releases here, so it's a bit of an 'extra day' that most releases have over new releases, so after the first week of 6 days, most CDs get a 7 day charting period) -> new CDs come out on Wednesday -> repeat

But in this case, instead of having A Classical come out with other new releases, it was released on the 'extra day' that releases the week before usually get. This day also tends to have pretty low sales.

And as for acknowledging her rankings, usually people tweet her that X or Y got #1 and she's like "Yay!" or she makes some emoticon faces. That didn't happen for the last few releases since well, none of them reached #1 on Oricon.

YAAAY! My 24th birthday was a blast releasing A CLASSICAL! I have the miracles of guilt in some thinking this album will fail. *fingers crossed*

It will probably be #1 today as well since it didn't stop being #1 on jbook (online site who track real time sales and show the real time positions according to stores).

okay, that's exactly what i thought. people don't seem to realise that those cashcow pop groups that won't ever go away (with the exception of my girl juju:heart) are guaranteed to make a mint even if they release an entire single of like, fart noises or w/e. just because they're releasing it, it'll sell lol

I just can't at some people thinking this release can't sell 20k in the long run while it almost surpasses that mark in 2 days!;)

This is going to sell better than any of Ayu-mi-x 7 , which is really unexpected even for Avex, I believe, since those were released almost two years ago now :)

Wow, of COURSE, Uta no Prince Sama ends up in first for whatever reason. That should drop off a lot in the next day or two ending up at around 15k or so. A Classical, go for the #1~

They're pretty low in the rankings. I wonder where their sales came from to place them in the top 3.

That's good! Hoping A Classical gets #1... It does have one more day than everything else from this week, so it's possible, even if it's a remix album :)

Ayu has topped the charts with a remix album before (ayu-ro mix 2 in 2001 if I'm not mistaken) so I don't see this as a big deal. :)

I don't count A Classical as a remix-album, for me it's the second special album after MY STORY Classical and I'm very happy it's doing pretty good ^^

A BALLADS II would be alright by me! A BALLADS is beautiful, especially the new version of A Song for xx :love

Sales for this are surprising. It'd be awesome for her to start the year with a #1 album :D But even if she doesn't this is selling much better than I expected, so I'm happy :yes

I would appreciate an A BALLADS II ^_^

They would have to choose a few unconventional songs to make things interesting, like what they did with "appears" in A BALLADS, and "GAME" IN MS Classical. Or turn a ballad into a rock song like ASFXX! :D
