I just wanna say something.

I just love how some people keep saying, "omg ayu should totally follow what namie and koda are doing, they are doing it well and ayu should follow them", or, "look at namie ayu, she's doing it right, that's why she's getting better sales", and many other things that they say.

Well, I love the fact that ayu is doing her own thing, and doing exactly the opposite. She doesn't need to try to be like namie or kuu or whoever for better sales or whatever, she's doing her own thing and I love it.

I don't care if ayu sells 2 copies of her next album/mini/single/whatever, as long as she keeps doing her OWN thing :) I love her so much!

Idk, after hearing the song previews and seeing this, I'm really in no rush to get LOVE again or the CD+DVD. I love the fact that this PV has TO BE vibes, but the song doesn't fit it at all - unless I'm missing something.

It was not what I was expecting at all, so that's good. I'm happy that she chose an entirely different approach for this.

I totally agree with you. It's because Ayu always do the things as she feel & think them, that it's Ayu.

Love the concept of the pv. Even if the basic theme is the same that to be (kaleidoscope) the development is quite different.

the scene where the ayu in the mirror looked at the camera...it was freakishly cool to me....suddenly it felt like they are many facades of the same thing

OK, I know I kept going on about not having high hopes from what I've heard from this album, but here I go with a huge slice of humble pie...

"Song 4 U", "Sweet Scar", and "Ivy" are all growing on me, albeit very slowly. They're all good efforts, but at this moment in time they all still seem just a tiny bit... anaemic, for lack of a better word. "Wake Me Up", "Snowy Kiss", and "Melody" I seemed to have fallen in love with overnight. Don't really see why "Melody" is seen as so boring by everyone else; I don't think it's boring at all! It's got the kind of melodies (pardon the pun) that really melt my heart!

"Missing", however, I do think sounds utterly boring. "You And Me" I still hate. Of the remaining album tracks of which we've heard previews, I'm still going to have to wait until I hear the full versions.

Anyway, back to the PV... Oh my, what a beautiful first half! I think this is going to be quite the visual feast! So pretty... and it might just become my favourite (out of these new-ish PVs) once I've seen the whole thing.

TEDx did it better. It looks like a proper kaleidoscope, whereas ayu's is like the knock-off version at the Dollar Store... In the clearance bin.

That first few blurry seconds of Ayu and her side reflections.. I almost thought it was Namie! Its an interesting concept, I'm not sold on the song yet so I won't say much, but I really want to see the full version of the video.

lol just watched the full version, i kept grinding my teeth cuz they kept switching her to the kaleidoscope scenes, and.... the whole time while she was on screen i just kept thinking, how pretty she is and how such a small lady can have such.....booobs~, aaaaaand how perfect they look in that tank-top xD my gowd..WTH?
i love the song but this video, i have mixed feelings, i like it and then i find it annoying and then i wanna watch it again, and then i get weird thoughts...madness xD

It's not perfect; neither is she; don't care. It's fabulous, as far as I'm concerned. In her history of PVs, sure, not ranking among my favorites, but I don't mind. I love it. I've been longing for simple!Ayu for ages. Yess ponytails, plain tank tops, and limited make-up!

Which, honestly, doesn't seem to have much to do with the situation here, as it's got nothing to do with lip-synching, and more to do with... well, I don't think it can be called plagiarism, really, but, um...concept appropriation? In that it seems Ayu/her creative director/video director/whomever wanted to recreate a similar video to the opening of TEDx.

this PV is the best thing happened in this "whole anniversary let's put You & Me everywhere thing".

It's fair to hire the same team to choreograph an entirely different performance.

Ayu's is basically a direct copy with worse choreography. However, I did like that they used light batons at the end, but sadly not enough and not creatively.

That's pretty far off imo. Was it even Ayu's/Shimoko/Fumichan's intention to make it look like a proper kaleidoscope? TEDx's obviously is supposed to since they have 2x as many (or even more) dancers to create a more dramatic effect.

The same technique was definitely used though. (Mirrors + the moving conveyor)

I love this song, and it kind of reminds me of YOU.

Simple doesn't have to be banal, and that's what I get from this song and PV.

Perhaps it was, perhaps it wasn't their intention. I feel like if they're going to commit to a concept as intricate as a kaleidoscope, they should execute it well.

The PV is still interesting and creative, but having seen the TEDx version, I can't help but to compare the two in terms of execution.

out of the two mini "albums" that came out, Melody is by far my favorite song. it's so classic ayu. i imagine it being on the MY STORY album if i could classify it. anyway, and i like that the video has an artsy concept instead of a literal one but it was very... how you say... raw... fluid maybe?? i think it was meant to be that way and not so rigid like the other one (which is very impressive in itself, don't get me wrong) but i don't think ayu or the director was going for that. the song is slow and therapeutic and for it to be perfectly choreographed i think would make it out of the place. but comparitively, yeah FoOby said it, dollar store version...bahahaha!

and yes a total TO BE throwback. loooove it!

Yeah, the method used to create the video is DEFINITELY the same (mirrors + camera placed above + conveyor belt) but the execution is slightly different. Notably imo, TEDx has a lot more dancers compared to the six[?] that Ayu has.

Obviously Shimoko or his friend borrowed the same idea and executed it differently. This is not plagiarism as the crazy Nishino Kana fan stated, this is appropriation, although we don't know and perhaps will never know if they actually asked for permission to use the same concept.

And yeah, the Chinese tabloids always make me hate them every time they even refer to any Jpop artist that I know of... seriously. They have no idea what they're talking about, and their ideas are fully subjective, pure rubbish.

I love the kaleidoscope effect! It's definitely different, and I definitely like it.
