Songs that you did not enjoy, but are now fond of?
 

Explicitly: You didn't like them, whether it was only for a day, a week, or years, but regardless you now enjoy them?

I'm not talking about songs that you felt were a bit 'meh' either. I mean, you would actually skip this song as soon as it popped up on your shuffle! :thud

Recently, I've kindled a love for RED LINE ~for TA~. It's taken me years to enjoy this song. I used to consider it to be one of the least outstanding album enders. It's one of those songs that I believe has an instant (and very Ayu) hook about it, but Ayu has so many songs reminiscent of it, that I don't think I ever really let it have a chance. :innocent

crossroad is another one that has needed a few years to grow on me. Now I think it is one of the best songs on Love songs! I believe this was a casualty of Ayu's lead up to her 50th single. It was probably the most disappointing single to me, only having one A-side and then a cover. I never considered it 'strong' enough to be able to carry such an important single by its own self. Now I'm eating my own words. :luv2

In terms of shortness, Melody is one that definitely comes to mind. A few months ago, when we received those low quality previews, the first words that came into my mind regarding Melody was,

"Oh no. Not another one of these!!!!!!"

(disclaimer: I actually enjoy most of these songs, especially Sweet Season. I just thought that she had really worn these types out :innocent).

I was much more enthused by Song 4 u and Missing. Especially Missing. However, when the mini-album was released I instantly enjoyed Melody (this is why we can't believe previews haha). It even became my favourite off LOVE. :luv2

Bold & Delicious

Fly high 100%. I didn't like it for so many years, but now I really enjoy this track much. Never skip it now :)

Moments. I thought it was very overrated, but I love the song now!
You & Me. I never did really like ayu's summersongs, except for 4 songs, but this one start to grow on me. Super catchy. I love that.

You & Me is another one for me too. I wasn't too keen on it when it was first released, but these days I don't mind it. I'm actually glad it is featured on LOVE again. :D

When I get asked this question; the first song that pops into my head is, "Love song."

I could just NOT stand Ayu's voice in that song. I thought the song was boring too. But it grew onto me after a lot of listens.

SURREAL is my main example.At first I didn't even really gave it a chance (I don't know why:thud) but now it's in my top 3 Ayu songs.
I think this is an unique and fantastic song in Ayu's discography.

monochrome, WHATEVER

these songs are very old. I've been indifferent to monochrome for about like 6 years. but when I read the lyrics, I began to listen it more and now it's one of my most favourite songs ^^

I never liked WHATEVER as well. I always found the "wow wow wow" part too annoying, but then again, I saw the lyrics and it made me love it. this was last year I think. wow, so recently :)

You & Me.

You & Me, Im still not so sure I love it, but it feels like I like it more and more everytime I hear it! :) There's just something about it ^^

Happening Here. As it was just a digital release, I only gave it brief listen initially and didn't think a whole lot of it tbh.

But after seeing the performance at CDL 11-12, I think it's great. Love Ayumi's rapping, love Timmy's rap, love the dated sound. It's all good!

Melody / It was / November / NaNaNa / Snowy Kiss


Melody : When "LOVE" was released, I only listen from "Song 4 U" & "Missing", I usually skipped "Melody". But when the short PV was released, I instantly in love with the song~on repeat until nowww

It was : "It was" took me around 3-5 months for me to appreciate the song. When I saw the mu-mo CM with "It was -Island mix-" on TV, I was curious with the original version since the remix version was good. So I give it a try......it was AMAZING!!! I love it until now...one of my "top 5 most played" in my iPod.

November : It was a 'meh' for me at first. I usually skipped this song in "Love Songs". It happen when I was driving when I listening to "Love Songs" album. "November" was playing...I really like it on first listen...then I play it again....and again.....and again....and again....I fall in love with it...usually during November :)

NaNaNa : I dislike this song in "party queen" at first. Even when after I watched the PV, I still dislike the song. Urgghhh. But after a while....I started to like it...with Timmy on rap and Ayu on vocal, it's funny!! Hahahaha

Snowy Kiss : Don't like this song....until recently, when I watched CDL 2012-2013, I love how she performed the song!!! With Shuya and all.....I instantly in love with the song....listed as my "top 10 most played" in my iPod.

I used to think it was boring. Until I really listened and realized how beautiful and sweet it is.

basically all of Duty. at first, i hated how high her voice was. i couldn't stand it. but then it just grew on me and i love the whole album. it's her best work. and her voice works with it. but a couple of the hated songs were Duty and End of the World.

those were really of the songs i *hated*. however, i do have a bunch of songs that i'm all "meh" on and do skip them but that's not what you're asking for lol plus, i don't love them yet.

a longer list would be songs i used to be obsessed with and now i'm like "ugh! tired of this :P *skip!*"

hanabi episode 2

I used to listen to still alone, but I never really enjoyed it. Fast forward almost ten years, now I really like it. And hanabi ~episode 2~ I just plain disliked. Now it gets me all emotional.

it was the first song of her's i heard, and I didn't like it (i didn't even know it was her, it was just some random song at the end of a tv show i didn't like.) A few years later when I became a fan, every time I heard that song it reminded me of that show i didn't like and it was a little off putting. Listening to it a few more times I was able to really start to like it and now it is one of my favorites.

I used to dislike the albums "My Story" and "(Miss)understood" but now I really like them.
