i hope we'll have two concerts released in video format, i mean, how will she put on a show with 50 songs? probably 25 in some dates and 25 in other dates, but i want all of it recorded and released in some kind of way

i dont get why songs like Boys & Girls and evolution are in the list considering the fact that ayu sings this 2 songs for EVERY concert.

I guess it would take her more vocal training to be able to pull those high notes like in kanariya because the last time she performed monochrome it doesn't turn out that good, maybe she could take another approach of the song.

It's really shocking for me...I mostly voted for Mirrorcle World, Talkin' 2 myself and Whatever. None of them made the list. Also voted for Free & Easy, Hanabi ep. 2, We wish, Heartplace, Carols, And then, Naturally, Inspire, Ourselves, (Miss)understood, Ballad, RED LINE for TA, Last Angel, Melody. None of them made the list.

I think she may do some encore switcheroonies every few concerts to perform everything. She's done that before.

By the way, Boys & Girls and Who.... are in the setlist being rehearsed so far. I see Trauma as well. I think it's definitely at least 24-25+ songs long... including interludes/etc. M also seems to be visible after the first two sets of songs.

It doesn't appear that she is planning to do all of the songs in one show according to this, but I don't think anyone thought she was gonna try to do 50-per-show anyway.

Most of the songs are like, "oh my God what are they doing there?" but whoa kanariya!

This -clearly- sets a fine line between the best ayu songs and the songs I want to see in concert.

Man I'm disappointed but I hope at least Kanariya, no more words and ever free is there :|

I would not worry, because I believe the description before the list says "we will decide the setlist(s) based on this list of 50 songs" so nothing will be excluded... but at the same time, it's possible that there were some songs she was going to do before the fan vote that she also stuck in the setlist as an intro/finale or something.

So at some point we will definitely get kanariya FINALLY.

Nice list, I'm sure the performances will be great. I did notice that there is at least one song from each album represented here, except for Party Queen (how sad).

Just fishy in the amount of LOVE again songs that appear. I didn't think anybody would vote for them as it was a given that she would probably perform them this time anyway. That's why it just seems strange. :innocent

And yeah, I agree. She'll probably have a core body setlist and change the encore.

im sure LOVE again songs were added by avex themselves. Missing and snowy kiss were in CDL so its gd they're not repeated. (just wondering what happened to Sweet scar, petal and Bye-bye darling..I think they fit into the list of songs that can delivery amazing and memorable performances)

Why not people see it this way? If there are LOVE again songs, then chances are the tracklist will BE surrounded in these 50 songs. And having evolution and the typical hype songs would also means, the OTHER songs would get sung in the main section more frequently.

I mean, if those AYU-CONCERT-MUST-HAVES are not inside, and instead are other songs people have chosen, then the chances of having all these songs appearing throughout this tour is lesser.

yea, its a pity there arnt many rock songs but Japanese pop music fans arnt THAT big fans of rock songs anyway. The songs on the list have a classic ayu and J-pop sound which shouldnt be that surprising anyway (since most of the more generic songs are pretty much dissed by some here).

I just feel that a 15th Anniversary tour should have Ayu and her classics. Not Ayu and oh-so-rare songs.

Not that it matters, but I found interesting that (miss)understood is hardly represented in this top 50, not to mention many of the newer albums, excluding LOVE again, which ended up with quite a few songs in there! Poor Party Queen!! lol

I like looking at the breakdown of how many songs were chosen off each album...thank god there aren't any songs off PQ (I detest that album) and I'm glad there's only one song from NEXT LEVEL/Love songs/GUILTY. NEXT LEVEL, for me, had excellent single tracks but the overall delivery fell short of what I would have expected from an Ayu album. It has some of her weakest album tracks to date, IMO, along with Love songs. GUILTY probably falls somewhere in the middle for me--I didn't think the album was very strong when it came out, but it's grown on me over the years.

I wish we had more songs from (m)u, but beggars can't be choosers I suppose. :P

I'm kind of amazed that STEP you didn't make it (in terms of representing (miss)Understood).

Honestly though, aside from the LOVE again additions, the chosen songs were pretty much guessed. That's not a bad thing though, at least we'll actually be receiving 'A BEST'. :heart

Another (possibly controversial) question: Do people actually believe that kanariya is 'A BEST' material, or do they just want it to be seen performed live once? XD

I think that kanariya is the exception here. It can't be really included as the best of because it has never been performed, so it counts as an old song which people want to see live once and for all, since it is the only single that's been neglected until now!! Such a long time :thud

I don't know if she can pull it off with those really high notes, but I'm sure they'll do their best to make it sound good if they include it in the final setlist :)

Similar case with ever free I guess, I'm not sure how this song ended up in the top 50, but I think it would be one of the best songs that they can include, because it is pretty nostalgic, it would be interesting listening to ayu singing it now with her current voice, and also because the lyrics are so damn powerful and touching, I could totally see her opening her heart and making everybody emotional.

But omg, she just has so many songs... even a top 50 can't make her justice, and she can't perform 50 songs every night too, so the setlist must be really hard to pick this time! They don't have an album theme but an A BEST theme, so they made a good choice in letting fans help them!

I guess the trilogy should be back someday again :P I don't want them to overkill it.

^I agree with you, as much as I love the trilogy, it would be a good idea not to overkill it. The one in PoM was simply amazing. Maybe we'll need to wait another 1-2 years for it to be considered to be performed.

It's Japan and like someone said in other thread, the vote would likely turned out like the vote for Kuu's Premium Night which was a ballad fest.

About Party Queen songs I guess maybe since they were performed in 2012 the public would want other songs to be performed. Also from (m)u and its following albums perspective, their performance was probably memorable so it may be OK for the songs there not being performed, except HEAVEN which never had the chance to shine in main set list and other songs that Japanese loves (e.g meaning of Love, BLUE BIRD, MY ALL, Days, etc). And seeing from the amount of songs per album, I think Japanese fans really want a nostalgia mixed with generic and underperformed songs.

Actually, I think it would have been very interesting to seen what Ayu would have chosen if there hadn't been a fan vote!

There would have still been SEASONS, M, BLUE BIRD, etc.
But there probably would have been a lack of rarer songs like kanariya and no more words.
A counter-argument though is that there probably would have been other songs possibly worthy of A BEST such as Mirrorcle World, BRILLANTE, Duty and Free & Easy and so on may have made it in the end.


This is a really interesting reflection of the A BEST 3 theory though. There's hardly any representation from Secret to LOVE again...

She probably not including songs like BLUE BIRD for AT because as I observed her, she likes to keep songs like that and July 1st for a-nation and maybe thinks that "Oh well I'm going to perform those summery songs at a-nation this year so need to sing it on AT" idk :P

Nonethelesss, regarding A BEST 3, imo the public see the vote as an opportunity to pick their favorite songs to be performed regardless of the occassion or the A BEST LIVE title because she had many underperformed/non performed songs so I guess it's a great chance to 'shove' it in her face what the fans wanted. Besides A BEST 3 wouldn't really need a vote, ayu and avex can decide it and we could probably know how the tracklist will look like.

Good list, a few staples, which we expected (it is A BEST not never performed after all), but it's good to see the old never performed songs on there. Shame that some of the newer ones didn't make it.

A lot of old songs we've heard before, but I'd prefer a list of them over a setlist of LOVE again so I don't mind at all.

I thought for sure Because of you, ourselves, I am... and Mirrorcle World would be included. As far as lives go she's given some explosive performances of all.

i have a feeling japanese fans just LOVEEEEE the ballads and neglect all the rock songs. I realy would have loved to see Heartplace. I am not even mentioning GUILTY or criminal cuz it's simply not possible....

I agree on the most part; this forum has really been a true testament to the 'I just want to see songs that haven't been performed often/never performed' regardless of whether or not they are considered great songs in Ayu's discography or not. Which has kind of backfired on a few songs, but we can't have it all. xD


On A BEST 3 though, one has to wonder if Avex did in fact add the LOVE again songs to continue promoting the album, and if so, then I wonder why they wouldn't have shoved a few more recent songs in there (to help promote that if it was to be released sometime this year).

The signs point towards no A BEST 3 (at least not this year).

^Even though we had A BEST 2 like six years ago but I guess now it's not the time for A BEST 3 yet, looking at her 50 singles it might have been better released on Love songs timeline but we'll see it maybe on years she's not feeling productive who knows :laugh

I agree on this. Despite LOVE again is a nice album I just can't see most of the songs being put in the main setlist. Most of them are encore material imo :P

I thought the rearrangements in PoM were fantastic, so I would love for this concert to focus more on rearrangements too. :love Especially kanariya...they're going to have to change the key if nothing else for her to be able to sing it. :laugh

I wonder if she'll open the concert with evolution like dome tour 2001, since the goods draw inspiration from it :P

Well, quite a good list that I'm seeing, though a song or two (or maybe three) from "Secret" isn't in, while "MY ALL" seems to be so popular (why?), but at least none from "Party Queen"...

She sang it during the AT10 encore for the first 5 shows but it wasn't included on the 7 Days Final DVD or anything like that.

But I'm really disappointed there's no WHATEVER or Mirrorcle World, and instead songs like meaning of Love and Replace, which I don't mind listening to, but are far from my favorites :/

I was thrilled to see the top50 list and I'm super excited to see the songs sung live. The only songs that don't seem to fit the list (imo) are HONEY, Sunrise and Wake me up. I'd trade them for Hearplace, criminal and guilty anytime (was hoping to see UNITE! too, but oh well... can't have everything). The songs I'm excited the most about are ever free, Ivy, SAKURA (yes, I voted for those two, got a problem? :D), Replace, A Song for ××, HEAVEN, Memorial Address and (OMFG) Key!!! (freaking love that song. was about time to perform it live again)
And I don't see anything wrong with meaning of Love - where's all the hate coming from?

I'm pretty happy with the results. I wish criminal made it in but I'm not too upset over it. I know a lot of people want to hear Kanariya live but once she actually sings it I'm expecting a backlash of "omg she doesn't have the voice to sing it!" and "it sounds horrible!".

I like many songs on that list, but when i saw beloved, meaning of love and You & Me i just wanna hit my computer

Fans in Japan really liked all of those songs. beloved really gets a bad rap but it was pretty good as a post-3/11 song.
