They basically say what we know. (2 LA PVs, Hello Kitty appears in Feel the love, one track is a danceable EDM track and there's a 'new Ayu sound' in another track)

- Feel the love has an H.I.S Christmas Fair CM tie up and December/January CDTV opening song tie up.
- PVs will be filmed in LA
- Feel the love PV stars James Ellis and DJ Hello Kitty
- Feel the love = DJ Hello Kitty produced, Tetsuya Komuro composed
- Merry-go-round = m-flo produced, VERBAL rap
- This single will also be released in 3 MUSIC CARD versions. A Feel the love/Merry-go-round postcard version, an Ayupan Xmas IC card sticker version, and a Ayupan New Year's Ema version. They will be 600 yen each and available at CDL in addition to the mu-mo shop online.

Ayumi Hamasaki's first new single in three years "Feel the Love/Merry-go-round" will be on sale this Xmas! "Feel the Love" is the first track ever produced by the acclaimed DJ Hello Kitty!!

The first single since "L" was released in September 2010, "Feel the Love/Merry-go-round", will be on sale from December 25.

Her nationwide arena tour of Japan, in celebration of her 15th anniversary this April, was a smashing success with a turnout of over 220,000 tickets sold, evident of her ever evolving style. The new single contains two A side tracks: "Feel the love" is the first track ever produced by the acclaimed DJ Hello Kitty, who has many excited fans all over the world!! His name is synonymous with "EDM (Electric Dance Music)", the globally recognizable sound that has rocked the world, representing the US. This song was composed by Tetsuya Komuro (a Japanese hit tune maker) and his distinct and catchy melodies fuse perfectly and make for an uplifting tune!

"Merry-go-round" is produced by m-flo, the internationally renowned Japanese production team! ☆Taku made the prime dance floor track, as well as the comfortable melody, along with VERBAL's rap, that really brings out ayu's new charm.

Both songs are the real sounds, without compromise, mixed by the acclaimed music engineer, Jaycen Joshua, that worked on so many famed US top artist's hit songs, and mastered by NY's new up-and-coming engineer, Dave Kutch!

For the DVD, we recorded 2 music videos shot in LA. And also the official "TeamAyu" fan club limited edition version contains a very special interview with ayu about these songs!

thanks truehappiness for the info....you are always so helpful :)

AyUmIXx 14th November 2013 03:45 AM

so ayu's Feel the love is the background song for H.I.S travel agent?

jiarongisme 14th November 2013 03:53 AM

Well, at least it's some form of a tie-in :laugh

brener 14th November 2013 03:54 AM

whoa. some promo after all. hahah

truehappiness 14th November 2013 04:08 AM

Yay, a tie iN!

YUKARI 14th November 2013 09:06 AM

not impressive but at least something

truehappiness 14th November 2013 09:22 AM

I think there could be another tie-in that hasn't been revealed yet.

ayumisrael 14th November 2013 10:44 AM

Didn't crossroad also have a H.I.S CM tie-in? It was the best selling (not by a lot) out of the 48th~50th singles (but did less well digitally). Hopefully it can do well on both, Feel the love is more general public friendly. Still, it might back fire that it's not a winter ballad lol but we will see I guess.

owlflight 14th November 2013 12:43 PM

I need to order my copy soon but I keep worrying about delivery during the holidays. I believe the tie in fits nicely as the song gives me a fun/happy feeling.

marty 14th November 2013 01:57 PM

Wow, Feel the love strangely suit a promotion like this, lol. Happy to see some tie-in!

TeamAyu2004 14th November 2013 02:13 PM

thanks for all the info!
I need to preorder this ASAP!

brener 14th November 2013 02:54 PM

i'm waiting the covers and more details on the TA versin so i'll do my pre-order

AyuGAME 14th November 2013 03:14 PM

better than nothing at all

waterballoon 14th November 2013 03:52 PM

she just gets weirder and weirder tie-ins

Get them sales ayuma!
I don't know now if I'll buy it
Id rather spend a billion yen on an album, not just a single.

Can I get a preview for Merry-go-round, please?! :laugh

finally preordered! I'm starting to get all excited about it. lol

brener 15th November 2013 07:35 AM

omg i need the covers >.<

i wonder if we'll ever get a calendar again... =\

ayumisrael 15th November 2013 03:08 PM

Unfortunately, ayu won't be getting #1 for this single. Hey! Say! JUMP! are releasing on the same day. Since it happens, it pretty much means avex aren't interested to extend her record/streak even farther. Unless if they will push it back.

Minttulatte 15th November 2013 03:32 PM

Ayu already broke the record for most #1 hits so it's OK if she doesn't get those anymore. Or that's what I feel. :)

Thank God.
Of course I want Ayu to get #1, but their seeming obession was starting to get ridicolous.

jiarongisme 15th November 2013 04:12 PM

Seems like Feel the love is gonna get another tie-in too? This time it's the theme song for CDTV.

:thud

Well, that's what we're about to fear. And then again, AKB48 is breathing down her neck for the most consecutive #1 singles by a female artist (though earlier we have said that AKB48's a group, but Ayu's a solo singer).

To be honest, I do like BOTH Ayu and HSJ. But I haven't been recently listening to their music recently, mainly because of the lack of activities compared to, say, 2007, and I'm really stuck to my other interests, such as AKB48, Ayaka, Yanawaraba, Sayuri Sugawara...and I don't really care about the Oricon very much.

YUKARI 15th November 2013 06:13 PM

oh I wanted #1 too :(

hikaricore 15th November 2013 06:23 PM

Avex has always seemed so strategic in the release dates of her singles.... who knows, maybe they're banking on all of these tie-ins, plus the fact that she hasn't put out a single in years to drive the sales? This just doesn't make much sense to me...

YUKARI 15th November 2013 06:32 PM

all their singles got #1.

I don't want to see her being beaten by Johnny's :(

oh well

brener 15th November 2013 06:42 PM

i was gonna buy this single because of the #1, but now that it won't even get close to it i think i'm gonna pass....

YUKARI 15th November 2013 06:44 PM

^ nooooooo
you should still support her! :(

brener 15th November 2013 07:12 PM

you're right.

but i truly feel sad about it..

truehappiness 15th November 2013 07:22 PM

That is pretty disappointing. JE, why do you have to ruin things? Haha~

IIRC, KinKi Kids kind of did this when RAINBOW came out.

jbrat2219 15th November 2013 07:39 PM

It's unfortunate she won't get number one but at this point I don't even keep track of her sales. All I know is that I'm getting a copy and that's all I care about.

pimenta 15th November 2013 07:41 PM

Well, maybe if she doesn't get #1 people will finally stop caring way too much about her streak? Maybe this way she can keep releasing singles without caring to keep her streak anymore (though I don't think she really cares about it)...
Of course I would love her to get #1, but it's totally ok for me if she doesn't as well, I just hope the single have nice sale numbers :)

Surreal17 15th November 2013 07:59 PM

It isn't very important if she gets #1 or not....but I do think that the sales are quite important. Really hope that those sales will be at least decent because Feel the love is really nice and I doubt hard that the other song will be bad. I don't know why female singers' singles sell so bad these days in Japan.. Kumi Koda's last single sold 23k,isn't it right?? so bad :( Even Namie isn't selling good these singles. Let's support Ayu because she deserve it!At least with her albums if not with her singles.

brener 15th November 2013 11:52 PM

well, we could dream about the #1 for one month at least hahah

Didz-19 16th November 2013 12:06 AM

i really want her to get #1...but it's okay...

Kazeyomi 16th November 2013 01:00 AM

Actually I'm not that sad if she will not get #1. I'm happy because they seemed to have learned a lesson with that paranoid fear of single records. avex could have planned better a single release after 3 years, imo. For istance, in a safe week.

It doesn't mean I wouldn't be happy if she will get the chance to be 1st, but it's not so tragic for me if she will not, neither :D

RealLight 16th November 2013 01:25 AM

If she get the #1, fine, if she doesn't, fine too, I don't care if she will get it or not, I'm more concerned about the music quality and how Merry-go-round will sound like, because I don't want it to be another Feel the love.

adantatu2 16th November 2013 01:25 AM

Finally, a JE's band is going to break that dramatic record. I only want good sales for our ayuma !!

LONJJONG 16th November 2013 04:16 AM

Nothing lasts forever. ><

visionfactory 16th November 2013 04:23 AM

No #1 :( please ayu change the release date ASAP !!

Well, we have a rough idea. It's a dance track for sure, but we don't know to what degree. I am guessing Sparkle-ish.

Comparing the song to Sparkle or insinuating it might be within the same category almost certainly seals the tracks doom before release. Lol.

KarenPang 16th November 2013 05:22 AM

If avex is serious/hell bent for her to still get #1 they should push the release date til Jan 2014 since the whole month of Dec will be filled with Johnny's releasing singles on a weekly basis

4th Dec - Kanjani8
11th Dec that week - Kis My Ft2 special unit Busaiku. Their single will be released on 13th
18th Dec - SMAP
Xmas - Hey Say JUMP

Andrenekoi 16th November 2013 07:27 AM

If AKB48 keep their sales rate, Ayu will lose her record soon, it doesn't really matter if she keeps her streak or not.

And it's not like she will be able to break the overall consecutive singles record anyway.

So... fuck the streak. :P

Well, it's the closest thing Ayu has to a 'dance floor' track, I think. Unless there's some other song that can be compared to...?

NintendoHTF1242 16th November 2013 08:16 AM

Watch Ayu outsell them like lmao y'all gotta believe. She may not be as active and shit or whatever but this is still our Ayumi Hamasaki.

truehappiness 16th November 2013 08:17 AM

Hey-Say-Jump's numbers are very crazy. Let's just say that they are usually her total sales for singles from 2006 onward in the first week...

KarenPang 16th November 2013 08:33 AM

Hey! Say! JUMP's previous single sold 217,803 in the 1st week . For their new 1 , they might be able to sell a bit higher as Ride With Me has a relatively strong promo tie in

njanjayrp 16th November 2013 08:33 AM

I don't see a point of going on with that #1 sherade tbh. It doesn't matter how much it sells...

roanmy 16th November 2013 09:12 AM

I don't really care about the record either, though I will say it stings that she's going to lose it to AKB48... o_O

brener 16th November 2013 09:30 AM

well, we all knew this would happen one day since nowadays the only thing the japanese people care is about boybands and girlgroups, and this may go on for a decade or so until something new comes up and change the way they listen to music... and hell, fuck it, i thought a lot and i no longer care about it either. if avex and ayu don't care about it why should us?! let's just keep supporting her and hope she continues presenting us with good music. ^_^

axmish87 16th November 2013 09:40 AM

I am just happy she releases new music after all the fuss about everything that concerns her in her private and professional life.
Times are different now so for her to reach No 1 is a bit far fetched but who knows.
AKB48 have nothing to Ayumi Hamasaki sans their otaku fans

owlflight 16th November 2013 10:16 AM

She is still going to be known as a J-POP legend and amazing lyricist. I am so ready for this single! Want more info now!

freedreamer 16th November 2013 02:05 PM

it really doesnt matter coz its NOT labelled her 51st single. LOL

visionfactory 16th November 2013 02:55 PM

Make it a collaboration single so it doesn't count as 51st single

Zeke. 16th November 2013 03:08 PM

Yeah the marketing for this single is so bizarre. You'd think they'd want to use the weight of it being her first single after how many years, and the first after 50, ushering in a new era.

pimenta 16th November 2013 03:11 PM

Actually, this is her 51st single, they might not have announced like "the 51st single", but they did say "The first single since "L" was released in September 2010" on the announcement, which pretty much settles it, this is the single after the 50th, which means it's the 51st...

HBYA was also a single, with its own cover… I guess they mean the first physical single since L

adantatu2 16th November 2013 06:45 PM

This isn't like DREAM ON (Urata Naoya feat. Ayumi Hamasaki), this is an Ayu's single, the title of Feel the love doesn't even include "feat.DJ HELLO KITTY".

Ayu will lose the damn record finally, please accept it, lol!

YUKARI 16th November 2013 07:07 PM

oh well.

I only hope she'll release another single next year

Yes, this count is for physical singles only, so hbya and Together When...are not included (nor a song is born, but that's another reason)

ayumisrael 16th November 2013 11:45 PM

The streak doesn't need to be sustained anymore, for now she will remain the solo female with most consecutive #1 singles, even if AKB48 can manage, they are still not female solo.
Only if a new solo female artist will rise to fame and will stay for many years, she would be able to reach that.

At least if ayu will keep releasing singles all the avex release date choices discussions will stop and ayu will also be able to release a single whenever and how much she wants. Let's just hope she will use that option and keep releasing singles.

ayu is beyond the proving to be legendary phase already.

brener 17th November 2013 01:18 AM

you said everything ^^

i just hope ayu wont end up being some sort of DJ like ami suzuki did '-'

Bigtop 17th November 2013 01:35 AM

No, because it isn't a regular single release, it's a christmas single therefore it doesn't count as 51st single

just kidding........

Their streak started with RIVER, their 14th single. They're releasing their 34th single this December, it's gonna be their 21st consecutive #1 single!

visionfactory 17th November 2013 03:39 PM

^But they are a completely different group now so that doesn't count as a strike, right?

It counts, but they are not a solo female act. That's why they aren't really relevant to Ayu loosing her streak. Currently there is no solo female artist who can pull something like that on Oricon.

Yuniz_hime 17th November 2013 04:12 PM

I love Ayumi. I like AKB48. I wonder why people talk about them. I mean, they are not in the same group (Ayumi for me is a solo female artist while AKB is a female idol group). EVEN when someone or some group (not just AKB) pass Ayu's record, I already satisfied. When she is at the top, she did very well. With her popularity and good sales. She is in her own league. And people remember who is Ayumi Hamasaki. When I asked my friends, do they know who is Ayumi Hamasaki, their answers are 'para para sakura'. When I asked them about other solo artists, they just know Ayu, Utada, some of them remember Namie and Koda Kumi. Isn't it great? Yes, I know her sales drop years by years but it also happen to other solo female artists too. For me, as long she write a new song, it's enough. The song is the 'bridge' that connect us to Ayu, not her records.

About the comparison, why we compare Ayumi and AKB48? Ayumi is a SOLO. AKB48 is a GROUP. It is unfair to compare. It's like we want to compare between meat and water. AKB48 or other idol group can sale well because of the marketing and each members' fans want to buy the single. So of course the sales become like that. If 'Ayumi' also consist of 48 members, with good marketing strategy, it can be like that too. But Ayumi is Ayu. So if we still want to compare, make it between Ayu and any members of AKB48 that do solo single project. Acchan, Tomochin, Yukirin, Mayuyu, and Takamina. Did they sale well too like when they are in the group?

Come back to the single, I can't wait for the cover!!!

Actually, for me Avex finally started to act like a dam normal company. I wouldn't want this super-pumped as her glorious, amazing, legendary 51 single since forever. It'd be pretty pathetic at this point, wouldn't it?
Tbh, she's doing what I wanted all along: stay low, single, some experiment.
I could really cry (from joy).

Only if a new solo female artist will rise to fame and will stay for many years, she would be able to reach that.

At least if ayu will keep releasing singles all the avex release date choices discussions will stop and ayu will also be able to release a single whenever and how much she wants. Let's just hope she will use that option and keep releasing singles.

ayu is beyond the proving to be legendary phase already.

well said^^

People compare because the comparison was put out there, mostly by Oricon. I also agree it's not a fair comparison, a solo artist against a really big group, but when it's about the more general "female artists" category even Oricon compares the both. Oricon published that article stating that AKB48 broke Ayu's record for highest singles sales, of course Ayu still holds the record as a solo female artist, while AKB has the record as a group, but Oricon published the news that way, because they were considering the "female artists" category, which includes both of them. If they compared like that, then if/when AKB breaks Ayu's streak the news will most probably be published that way as well "AKB48 breaks Hamasaki Ayumi's record". So, yeah, it's not a fair comparison, but if Oricon does it it's kind of impossible to ignore...

from AyuAngel FB:

It said that finally Johny had announced last week the new single of Hey!Say!Jump! will be released the same day as Ayu's new single. It will be a challenge for Ayu and the press said that even though Ayu's new single is anticipated by her fans, it is still difficult for her to get no 1 on Oricon and maintain her streak.
The last previous single of the boy band had been sold 218 000 copies for the first week while L only sold 70 715 copies.

BlackSilence 19th November 2013 09:20 AM

even press is worried lol why do i have a feeling Ayu and Avex doesn't give a shit about that at all xD

ComatoseBunnySnatcher 19th November 2013 09:21 AM

Meh, I only care it does well and is popular.
Have they announced lives yet?

Linza-mo 19th November 2013 09:22 AM

It's an article about the fact that the new single of Hey!say!JUMP has been announced (the previous week) for the the 25.12 and it will be difficult for Ayu to be #1 the first week even if fans are really excited about her new single !
The Johnny's playing a dirty trick to Ayu :/

Isicio 19th November 2013 09:22 AM

It is Hamasaki Ayumi to release single CD of 3 -month about three years , " Feel the love / Merry-go-round " on the 25th of December , the potential for continuous lead medal count record in the weekly single ranking Oricon to stop it 's that came out .

Hamasaki was ranked first female solo artist history to win 25 consecutive work lead single released in '02 from " Free & Easy " previous to "L" , unplug the Seiko Matsuda . Shooting at a record-breaking 26 consecutive new song work , but what , the same day , it was decided that idol group Johnny " Hey! Say! JUMP " to release new song " Ride With Me " .

In the background the " Hamasaki has updated the great record , and . Johnny's part to be or have adjusted well Date to prevent the batting as" formidable " production side of affiliation record company , Avex , and was supported around was great speaking of office , it was thought that there is no supposed to launch for , " Gonzo " the V6 and Kis-My-Ft2 is part of a record company the same as Hamasaki , but the record company of " Hey! Say! JUMP " in-house label of Johnny , Omakeni speaking of Hamasaki , that you have met a " fate " that had been dating for many years and Nagase Tomoya of TOKIO Johnny's affiliation once- or to affect the ambient can not be adjusted , and then batting Oops . After the launch of new song " Hey! Say! JUMP " has been affected future that it is a " situation of adult " certainty " ( music-related person )

Hamasaki you have reached the memorial year of 15th anniversary debut this year . You are for example, to open a blog in a week limited to match the photo book released this month , but the climax is not good enough . On the other hand , those of " Hey! Say! JUMP " is like a completely on momentum , " Hamasaki was only sold 20,000 15 Anniversary Best Album , which was launched in September has passed . Contrast , win Hamasaki thin 240 000 pieces of single was released in June together , because should burn in " Hamasaki , overthrow ." fans the album sold 150,000 copies the " Hey! Say! JUMP " " ( entertainment reporter )

Hamasaki must be a place where you want to decorate the " last hurray " of the memorial year in record-breaking , but it is quite so difficult .

Just cause they may sell more than ayu, they're playing a dirty trick by releasing something on the same day as ayu? lol It's christmas, everybody want to get it to boost their sales, can't see why would be something especific towards ayu

Linza-mo 19th November 2013 09:40 AM
