Aw...huum I'm a little bit disappointed, I hope she will reach 40k the first week :/
|
i was expecting 15k, so i'm kinda ok with the numbers... for the first week i think it may reach 25~30k hopefully ^^
|
Yay for #3!! I hope her future activities will help the sales. I really don't care about charts now. But the numbers and longetivity in the charts matters nowadays imo.
|
I hope weekly sales can be around 3.5w
|
i hope it wont drop out of top 3 tomorrow...
|
It could have been worse. Go Ayu!!
|
oh, ok, at least it's more than 15k.
|
oh rank no. 3.. not bad, though i actually wished it'd be rank 2. but it's ok!
at least it's top 3. hopefully it'll go up! |
It's almost 18,000 I think it's pretty cool. It's higher than what other solo females sell for singles I suppose?
Outselling momoiro limited single is in the basket at least so for now ayu can still be #3. I just hope it won't drop a lot. I suppose 8,000 for tomorrow? Around 35,000 first week would be about right if it won't drop to less than 6,000 tomorrow. |
Hmmm...seems like her TA not supporting the single...probably most people bought via iTunes and think it would be a waste to buy the physical?
|
congrats to ayumi.
How many people can come back after three years and still crack at number 3? |
^That's a good way to look at it!
I still need to buy my copy but I was hoping iTunes USA would get the single... |
Two predecessors are group and ayu is solo artist!
Ayu FTW (y) |
Not bad :)
I just hope the single can stay in the top 3 |
Considering that it's been a while since her last single and the entire landscape of sales have changed, this is pretty good. Flower must be getting a TON of promo lately.
|
not bad...hope it's rising!
|
I wonder if there's a high likelihood that certain copies aren't being counted at the moment... (fan club editions and MUSIC CARD) or if they are banking on event sales to give a teeny bit of a boost?
|
i miss ayu so much~ really excited about this charts~
|
these sales are still more than kyary pamyu pamyu had for her first day of her latest single. and Namie had almost the same numbers for her latest single. so I guess it's OK.
I guess the sales could be higher if she appeared on TV performing the song BEFORE the relese. I hope her MSSL live will help a bit. hmm... I guess it will sell like 40k in the long run......... what do you guys think? |
not bad not bad ^^ almost 18k, considering she did very limited promotion, though the lives should help keep it alive longer! :D glad i contributed! and hopefully this starts the return of ayu singles!

Oh shoot...
Well we have to keep expectations low... Mika Nakashima and BoA sells like 10k Koda Kumi 20k Namie 30k It's a hard time for soloists |
don't forget about these
aiko: 60k (we can compare her with ayu since her last single was released in 2011 and now she was able to sell over 60k with her new single 2 years later...) Kana Nishino: 30-40k Nana Mizuki: 80k (her collaboration singles with T.M. REVOLUTION sold over 100k) |
Nana has so many fans because of her seiyuu status, haha. And Valvrave.
|
and aiko is one of the most loved singers ever
talking about the numbers I just hope for some steadiness and longevity... |
I don't really understand aiko's popularity... but I guess she has all of those Oricon Style readers behind her, haha.
|
btw i doubt ayu will sell over Momoiro Clover Z, she will be #4 on Weekly ^^
|
Quote:
Especially since people say her career is over lol. That's really good, congrats Ayu! :heart |
congrats on taking #3 ayu! so proud!!

No, it will, but they probably sold more than that.
I'd hope Ayu sells more during the week... it's not like it will go directly to 1,000 a day, right? |
My expectations are:
2nd: 7k 3rd: 4k 4th: 3k 5th: 3k 6th: 2k 7th: 2k First Week: 38~40k but i don't think ayu will be able to beat Momoiro since their single is 24k ahead :~ they might sell around 15k during the week. |
The Momoiro Clover Z single has already dropped a lot because it seems it was a one day special I do think Ayu can clear 30k the first week, so she should have no problems getting that #3.
|
Momoiro is actually #7 on daily charts (it didnt drop a lot '-').. I think it will rise during the week...
|
#3...welcome to status quo...
I know HSJ is #1...who's #2? |
Flower is a girlgroup whose popularity has increased a lot since their last single. Besides their single is a good winter ballad, no way Feel the love could compete with that.
|
Well kana's last single "sayounara" (which was probably a digital hit) sold 22,820 first week.
I thought momoiro clover's was sold only yesterday but if it's still on the charts it will probably sell all the copies, it should only drop then, question is how limited is it. It could have been #7 today just because all the rest sold aweful but we will see how it will keep faring. Hopefully ayu can be #3 but if kana was #4 and sold 39,000 it should be alright. ^I just think ayu released what she wanted regardless of the season and she probably doesn't care much how it will affect sales and stuff. EDIT Just found it momoiro clover's single is TIME limited Dec 23rd to Jan 10th. So ayu's gonna compete them for the #3 pretty much. She will be able if she won't drop much (which is less likely) so I'm expecting for #4-#5 weekly. Another competitor for #4 are yuzu actually. They were #4 today and if they will hold better than ayu than ayu's might be #5. My worst expectation would be #6 weekly for ayu but hopefully she will be able to be in the top 5. |
break her record :(
|
Not it doesn't =P Her record is still in effect.
Btw brener, I think it will be better not to put the daily sales in "spoiler" yet until the first day of the next week, that users will be able to see everything for the present week until it's over right away. =) |

FIVE, LOVE, and again weren't technically singles but they certainly filled the void. Only nominally there has not been a single in three years... Not to say Ftl/Mgr is/won't be successful, but that's a false scapegoat.

It kind of sucks that people will use this as "her career is even more over than it was before!" ammo... but anyone going up against Hey!Say!JUMP would lose the #1 unless they were AKB or another JE group. And maybe to some others if you have virtually no promotion.
|
I don't get the whole, her career is over anyways...
this isn't 2000/1/2. Her career will NEVER be over until she STOPS making music. As long as she is making music (doesn't matter how much she is selling) she still has a career. Is her peek over? Yes, it died a long time ago, her last million seller was missunderstood. that could be the mark of her decline or some could put it sooner, whatever. But her career isn't over... -.- |
It's so sad to see sales in such a rut. Not just for Ayu.
But I think 40k is possible. Doubt that she can pass again's sales |
Quote:
|
Sometimes I feel there is always a plethora of excuses/explanations though...
|
Quote:
|
So Flower is taking #2 away from ayu? Whoa... Two idol groups - one Johnny's, another a typical girl idol - but then again, Ayu's 35 years old, and the members of the two idols that are on top of Ayu are probably not even 30 years old yet, mainly in their 20s...
|
Do you have ayu's digital sales ?
Ayu's physical sales are really good, she will probably sell like 30k this first week. Anyway FLOWER popularity grew a lot because they are part of E-Girls, their past single "Taiyou to Himawari" had a lot of promo and it was part of a competition between 2 groups. |
Quote:
|
It's kind of shocking for me to see her debut at no. 3, but worse things can happen. She's still doing fine for today's soloist sales standard.
Congratulations, ayu! |

Arashi vs. AKB would be insane.
|
You guys talking about sales, girl/boybands, etc, I went to generasia to see new realeases and then I saw AKB's new single title:
"Suzukake no Ki no Michi de 'Kimi no Hohoemi o Yume ni Miru' to Itte Shimattara Bokutachi no Kankei wa Dō Kawatte Shimau no ka, Bokunari ni Nan-nichi ka Kangaeta Ue de no Yaya Kihazukashii Ketsuron no Yō na Mono" WTF is that? :thud |
^They are running out of ideas to seek people's attention (yes, that's a song title)
|
Quote:
But seriously. What 3 years has she been gone? lol None of the 3 that just past I assure you. |

that looks like part of the lyric lol. no info about the 2nd day sales yet? |

LMAO :thud |

The numbers for the 2nd Day may be out in 30~60 mins. But I'm going to sleep now. But don't worry because @ayumisreal will probably post it here asap ^^ |
i guess the sales are ok considering that for the past few years her idea of promo has been to just walk thru the airport hand in hand with some fuggo

Yay!! 30k for first week isn't hard! I'm really happy for the figures!

Where's this "she's been gone for 3 years" thing coming from?
Since Love Songs she's released 2 other albums and 3 minis, which were actually singles, but meh... I really don't know why she even bothered releasing a single, tbh. She's not performing it anywhere and she's doing INSPIRE in Kouhaku... random much? It's like she doesn't even like the single. She's getting better sales than what she'd get if she wasn't Ayu, so... that's something. |
Yeah she wasn't really gone from anywhere anyway.
At least ayu is being consistent. She probably wishes to release singles because they themselves promote the album eventually, they also have tie-ins unlike most album only tracks. Even though, yeah you don't have to have singles for this but it should help to some exent and they are a part of the Japanese music culture anyway, Japan is the country where singles sell the best. Quote:
Besides again, Feel the love/Merry-go-round is not a comeback single because ayu was never gone. I doubt that most people in japan who are not hardcore fans know that it's her first single since a few years ago. |
im happy for the figures so far, good for Ayu
maybe can hope 50k ~~ |
Well, Fairies was #2 yesterday, and Ayu's #3...
Today Ayu's #3, and of course it's still HSJ #1... But I found out that Yuzu's #2...what? Didn't we mention earlier in this forum that Yuzu has the potential threat for denying Ayu's #2 run to HSJ? What happens if Ayu goes outside of the top three? :( |
That's what most likely will happen so ready yourself.
|
Nothing will happen.
Life goes on. :D |
Quote:
|
Whatever. Im happy with Ayu's single now..not a problem if she lose the streak. Life goes on I guess.
|
Yes yes.
|
You guys 30K is a lot in Japan. Most singles don't sell this much anymore.
Yeah, the popular guys still get it, but the other ones? Not so much... I was seriously expecting less than 10,000 for the first week. Honestly, this is the come back single, because no one knew she released anything since her last single. Albums aren't really popular, they want the singles. |
I'm also happy about the numbers =)
For the top 3 ayu need to beat Momoiro and the girls are rising, today they were #5 and still have the 24k advantage. Honestly I don't think Flower will come into top 3 again and now there's Yuzu with 8k and probably 15~17k from the first day, the boys need to stay steady to get the #3 since Momoiro may get the #2. I hope Feel the love / Merry-go-round won't fall out of top 3 during the week, the numbers today were 1k below my expectations though... Hey! Say! JUMP!: #1 85k + #1 37k = 122k Flower: #2 26k + #4 = 26k+x (the higher they could be now is 32k) ayu: #3 17k + #3 6k = 24k yuzu: #4 + #2 8k = 8k+x (the higher they could be now is 24k) Momoiro: #7 + #5 + 24k = 24k+x+x (these girls can be around 40k) Ayu will likely be #4, to be #3 she needs steadiness and maybe a little boost during the week, let's hope the performance tomorrow will do this job :) |
Quote:
I'm glad she will have three times more than 10k :) |
She's still not in the BoA state lol
|
It's doing fine :)
Position is all about luck sometimes... A Classical got #1 with 25k only on the first week in the albums chart, that usually have higher sales. This single will sell more on it's first week and it's around 3~4 place, it just wasn't an easy week... |
go go ayuuuu :) for sure we'll get a small boost from the performances no doubt about it!
|
Yeah seriously give her a break, she's already outsold kumi's singles this year
|
Who buys DVD singles though? I don't even watch the DVDs that comes with CDs, it would be a miracle if I ever watched sakura nagashi.
24k? so far sounds great. She already outsold kumi :O But tbh I like fee da la more than any of kumi's latest work so I guess it's "a reflection of quality" or something of sorts. As trashy as the single is, it's further exploration in EDM for Ayu. |
Quote:
And Momoclo!? :thud |
i think she did quiet good so far...Go AYU!
|
Seems like some people are getting offended or thinking that all these chart talking are bullshit. But what's all about anyway? We're just being fans and we're talking about the new release, it's not like we're crying over it. We are just happy and proud as ayu about this new single.
|
thanks freedreamer & brener for that title song translation, i LOL haha~
yay 2 days 24K, not bad!! go go ayu!! 30K 1st week looks kinda easy.. she should actually go promote FTL and merry go round on TV! |
she's performing Feel the love today on MSSL ^^
|
Quote:
|
ayu at #6 today with less than 2,249.
|
Quote:
|
ouch!
hope the weekend and MSSL help! |
3rd Day
Position: #6 This week is a total mess x.x I doubt ayu has passed Flower. Momoiro is ahead her and now probably Yuzu too. I see #5 on Weekly and I hope it won't drop more.... |
Oh, well... maybe the sales will improve a little over the weekend after the MSta performance... If not, well, at least she probably already passed 25k, I'm happy :)
|
go go music station live!! :D poof poof boost sales ^^
|
And Scene on her career.
