My sister was only in a relationship with someone for 6 months before they got engaged, so I don't think Ayu is moving fast at all. And I'm actually really glad we don't know much info, I think she has learned from the Mannie era that even if she thinks/hopes that her fans will be happy for her and accept her decisions, the truth is that many won't. So I hope she's happy, either way, as long as she keeps releasing material its all good. :yes

Well this is all full of positivity! Ayu's an adult who is allowed to make her own choices/mistakes and we don't really know that much about her personal life and all the circumstances. I hope they are happy and congratulations!

Now we know why Ayu didn't announce the concert tour. She want to spent time with her hubby. I think it's the first time she gives priority to a man/love rather than the work. We know that she has spent a lot fo time with this guy more than with Mannie, too... I mean she almost was in LA all the year and he came to Japan in summer and in December too. For me, its seems that he's her real soul mate.

I agree and I'm happy she's chosen to behave this way this time 'round. I'm very very happy for her and I'll be always wishing for her happiness from the bottom of my heart.
I don't know how long this will last nor do I care...I think that as long as it's love it doesn't matter when and if it will eventually fade, she's happy and in love and gets to be loved for real and this must be enough for all of us to be happy for her.

By normal standards, it is quite fast. Especially considering her track record for failed relationships only very recently. I hope it works out, but you can't blame fans for being skeptical at this stage in the game.

And for a few people...she's known the guy for a year and a couple/few months. Dated him for basically a year. We don't really know too much information about him yet including his own name. He hasn't been plastered all over her career in the single or anything leading up to this. She's clearly handled it differently. He didn't write some message to her fans to explain anything. They seem pretty chill and more cautious and I think ayu's learned her lesson. I don't quite understand any judgment. Even if you're the type to want one relationship and marriage your whole life and not marry until after 5 years, that doesn't mean ayu is. :)

She's a grown woman and I am just happy for her and I think she's doing pretty well by keeping details away from media and fans.

The reality is that the majority of her fans really don't deserve and need to know her private love life anymore. Many don't know how to manage with this kind of information. So, I think she's pretty aware about this now and it's doing well keeping all the details to herself.

I don't get people reasoning that 'oh, she's had failed relationships in the past so this one is also DOOOOMED'. I bet a ton of the people here have had as many (or more) break ups as Ayu despite being years younger. Doesn't mean that will always be the case.
Also, knowing someone for many years isn't a guarantee of a successful marriage.

Anyway, I wish Ayu all the happiness she can take! I hope for a long and prosperous relationship :)

well she married mannie in early 2011..and she married another one on 2014..it's around 2 years gap, so i don't think it's a big of deal.
moreover, this medical student husband identity is totally unknown (except for his face), so i guess ayu is really serious about this relationship to be worked out. she probably has learned from previous mistakes.. so hope this one will last long.. and no more bad news again after a year.. and i hope for babies (if ayu wants any though) lol

The mainstream Japanese media is horrible to her. I rolled out of bed this morning and turned on the news (like talk shows--"The Today Show," for example, in the States) to see a picture of Ayu and the UCLA student and some catty announcer simperingly declaring that the chances of their divorce were--drumroll, bar graphic across the bottom--99%! Even if you think that, it just seems nasty to say such a thing about anyone on national TV, let alone with such glee. :-/

I believe the oricon article that was posted said that, in addition to getting their marriage license in LA, the wedding was registered at the prefectural office in Tokyo. So yes, for the first time, she's married in Japan.
