For me, the answer isn't in the poll, I used to. A lot really. I mean, uhm, almost as much as I like Ayu now. ^_^ But she went wierd on me and I kinda grew away from her. So if you can put "I used to" in your answers above, I'll vote. ^_^

MTRLevolution 8th December 2003 02:33 PM

i don't like her. don't know why either. maybe it's because she's really ugly, lol.

mimika 8th December 2003 02:36 PM

sicne she's ayu's idol..i'd like her too..hahahha

evolutionricky 8th December 2003 08:04 PM

shes ayu's idol? I knew her arena tour reminded me of Madonna's drowned world tour.

Luna Saisho 8th December 2003 08:26 PM

I know Ayu at least likes her a little, but my sources say that Globe's front lady is her favorite.

Unimatrix Prime™ 8th December 2003 09:21 PM

I used to be quite a big fan of Madonna some time ago (yes... I admit that! lol... ), but with Madonna's recent songs, and co-production in one of Britney's recent music videos, I'm not as much a fan as I used to.. but she's still a good artist :) !

the3ye 8th December 2003 09:23 PM

She's hot and sexy. She's so strong and sweet. She also have a powerfull voice. I want to be her husband :D

eriko 8th December 2003 10:11 PM

Madonna is like ayumi : an icon gay

i love her of course

if madonna wasnt here, there will be no ayumi, no britney, no shakira, etc

MADONNA IS THE QUEEN!

Calico 9th December 2003 01:45 AM

I've been a Madonna fan for a long time...and I think she's a very attractive woman. Her lyrics are very inspiring to me, her music different every time you hear it, (kind of like Ayumi) and image is constantly changing.

Of course, she doesn't exactly have the same shock value that she use to, (Like a Virgin LIVE and Like a Prayer spring to mind?) but she still finds a way to be different from everyone else. And I could care less about her singing with Britney Spears. Whatever floats your boat. It doesn't make me think any less of her.

Vinylfantasy 9th December 2003 02:31 AM

I love Madonna, she is a role model/icon for me and so many other people around the world. I love her music and I guess it's really because she really was and still is quite the revolutionary in the music industry. Madonna rocks!

Cavi 9th December 2003 02:33 AM

I like a couple of her William Orbit produced tracks like "Frozen." And the Above & Beyond remix of "What It Feels Like For A Girl" is excellent, but other than that, not really into her.

ayumi_pukka89 9th December 2003 02:40 AM

nope......no american artists for me.....

evolutionricky 9th December 2003 10:37 PM

I'm glad lots of you here like her.

narusegawa 13th December 2003 12:12 AM

madonna rox!!
and shes been rocking since young age and shes still rocking now!! ^_^
i think shes a perfect role model!!

AfanforXX 13th December 2003 12:24 AM

some of her music is good like "Like A Prayer" but the rest is sorta bad IMO. She tries too hard to be "different" and be innovative, when she's just a has-been. Also, her career has been carried more by controversy she's created than her actual vocal talents. Plus, did I mention her acting sucks?

#Chax 13th December 2003 01:03 AM

I became a Madonna fan at age 8, I saw her live when I was 12.

I cried.

I'm still a huge fan. She's amazing, she revolutionized, and that girl can really entertain.

Kurushimi 13th December 2003 05:14 AM

no offense but she tries to be too sexy its degrading! the brittany modonna christina kiss doesnt really help.....

miruku 16th December 2003 02:09 AM

she's not bad
but i love the song "frozen" so much

even ayu likes her :)

Not at all, she's getting anoying...

kournikova 19th December 2003 11:06 AM

obviously i like her.... coz she is hot and she can mix up her body and her voice babe :P

Coelacanth 20th December 2003 04:30 AM

Wow I know i'm gonna get flamed for this.....

Madonna's best was Ray Of Light, great album. She is the biggest sell-out now... come on Britney and Madonna are both selling out. The only reason Christina isn't cause she has a voice. Britney and Madonna don't have that voice so they have to save their careers by kissing each other. Thats when I ultimately realized that American Mainstream is going down the craphole. It truly makes me sick... (got completely off topic)

and... at least Christina has enough common sense to change her image like Madonna.

Britney is ALWAYS Blonde!!! If she doesn't get a new hairdo and keep it.. grrrr......

AyuDearest1 20th December 2003 04:43 AM

I found myself addicted to die another day... that american life album sucked... rapping about lattes!? :rolleyes I also feel uncomfortable listening to what has now become a gay icon... it just isn't always the best thing to do...

shinji1698 20th December 2003 04:50 AM

I like Madonna. Although I feel some of her music is going off into bad areas, I mean, the American Life single was a terrible choice, and her promotion of making a video that gets banned is getting old.

But I love her because she does whatever the **** she wants.

I've never really listened to many Madonna songs, much less been a big fan of hers, but I have to admit that she does have quite a few good songs. I really like a lot of her old stuff (like 'Material Girl' and 'Ray of Light'), mostly because I have a few old Madonna cassette taped lying around and sometimes I listen to them. My parents were Madonna fans (though, not realy anymore, but when I asked my dad, he said that both my mom and him were huge fans of her when they were younger), but they don't really like her as much now. They liked her better before, probably because of her image. *shrugs*

Yvette 22nd December 2003 05:55 PM

I like her old music, but after the whole britney kiss thing.. O_o heh shes still cool tho

rainbow_momiji™ 22nd December 2003 07:43 PM

evolutionricky 26th December 2003 04:38 AM

shes my goddess!

Shin-Domoto 26th December 2003 01:51 PM

Sometimes yes, sometimes no. American Life is a great song, but the rest? Hmm... no comments.

devilayu 28th December 2003 06:06 PM

I LOVE Madonna. I prefer her old school 80's stuff more than her recent works (Though I did like "Die Another Day" a lot and her duet w/Brit grew on me). Madonna doesn't care who likes her and who doesn't (there are SO many haters), she's just being herself. If that's seen as tacky or controversial, she'll take it because in the entertainment world, there is no such thing as bad publicity. I think Madonna takes Britney under her wing because they both went through a lot of similar things at a young age (reigning the pop charts, criticisms, etc). Plus, Madge said she didn't take up singing because she has a good voice, she's doing it so that people like her know that they're not alone; she's sending a message through music.

CT_Cool 31st December 2003 02:20 AM

well some songs of her sound ok, she alright

Aldonia 1st January 2004 07:46 PM

No, I don't like Madonna, nor that fake English accent she has. She couldn't sing in the 80's, and she can't sing now. :|

ranm19 4th January 2004 12:42 AM

ooh.. I luv Madonnna..
She went rock with the Remixed & Revisited album.

-BOKU- 4th January 2004 01:52 AM

eh i dun see anything special about her -___-

akatsuki 9th January 2004 08:13 PM

I liek her more than I hate her. She'S anyway better than a bunch of other artists

AlphaBlaze 15th January 2004 12:38 AM

Yes I do.

Madonna's music is great, I like her techno-ish style songs.

Cyria 20th November 2005 10:50 PM

I'm a Madonna fan. She can come off as hard and unlikable in interviews, but she has two perfect albums (Ray of Light and Bedtime Stories) and so many great songs. More than twenty years after Like a Virgin she's still around and, as Confessions shows, making good dance music.

Raleigh 20th November 2005 11:09 PM

I actually am impressed with Madonna. She's what.. over 40? And she still looks fit and young and she produces impressive releases.

I love how she is constanly innovating herself and how she simply does not care about what people do think of her and does what she loves.

DeepRiver 21st November 2005 07:10 AM

Yes. She is still the Queen of Pop!

lotusoka 21st November 2005 07:49 AM

of course

DarkAyumi 21st November 2005 08:25 AM

Raleigh 21st November 2005 12:25 PM

Nah she still can produce quality work and I doubt she'll retire till she'll be a very very old woman XD

Qt Mashi 22nd November 2005 02:28 AM

yeah i guesss...she's pretty kool^^

ruixiong89 22nd November 2005 05:34 AM

I think Madonna made a spectacular comeback with Confessions on a Dancefloor! It's great and I really love it! But I still think material from her Ray of Light album were the best like Ray of Light, Don't Tell Me ... those are my all time favourites!

American Life did poorly because it coincided with the Iraq War? That's what I heard ... but I still think songs like Love Profusion deserved MUCH MORE than the poor acclaim it received.

I don't really like her old material, haha, they're too retro for me! But now that Madonna's constantly reinventing herself, she rocks! And she's like 47? But she still looks SO SO SO young!

The only thing I don't like about Madonna is that sometimes, she tries too hard to be different like with her "Kabbalah" religion and some other quirky stuff she does ...

HvnSntGurl 22nd November 2005 05:38 AM

Yes I like Madonna. She has nice quality music. I'm not crazy for that Caught Up song but it is quality music. I'll excuse her for having anything to do with Britney Spears.

sebox 23rd November 2005 10:12 PM

i loove her. she's my fav artist ever! the new album rocks!

Hahaha, I can understand that. I heard 'Hung Up' twice on the radio during a day at work and I was already sick of it. That 'Super Pop' song was a bore too.

Raleigh 25th November 2005 01:27 PM

Actually I like Hung Up. Seeing a woman of 47 still dance and look like she's 27 is quite amusing.

Tasked 26th November 2005 02:02 PM

the video for "hung up" doesn't do her much good. She's old now, and shouldn't wear those clothes anymore (although later in the clip she wears jeans, that's totaly hot!). But Madonna was the Ayu of her time. Madonna also had huge special lives and tours (and this inspired Ayu in her arena tour 2002), Madonna also changed her image/style/look every release and madonna was also considered the queen.
Ayu has been bigger in her homecountry Japan than madonna was in America, but since Ayu doesn't sing in english, she's not as famous as Madonna.
I hope that when Ayu is 47 she's still active like Madonna.

tommy96814 26th November 2005 02:07 PM

she's still HOT for her age.

slashess 26th November 2005 05:07 PM

oh madonna is good i think well...her old stuff anyways, i dont really like her confessions of the dance floor cd all that much.

HanabiChick 26th November 2005 05:44 PM

I was never really a fan, but I did like her old stuff, as that's the stuff she was doing when I was growing up... I just don't like her new stuff, it's too much technical stuff and doesn't seem like real music, I don't find it pleasant to listen to, there's no balance, it's all techical-sounding for me. I don't like her new single, whatever it's called, I heard in on a CM for the album and she just butchered a classic with the way she used it in that awful track.
She does have a great body for her age, however she doesn't look young to me, all that exercising makes her face sharper and does make her look older than she is.

Raleigh 27th November 2005 12:17 AM

Honestly I've never seen a lovelier face of a woman aged 47. It looks young and really smooth. Could be the make up or some special cream or something.. don't understand much in this sector but I think she actually looks younger than she is.

HanabiChick 27th November 2005 01:17 AM

Maybe it's just me who thinks that, but I have honestly seen women and men here who are older than her and they [natural way] look a lot younger. I look at Madonna and I think she's a lot older than her actual age. All those sharp lines on her face make her look tired to me - the same with the actress from SATC, Parker [?] I think her name is, she has sharp features like that too and she also seems to me older than she really is. Recently I saw some pics of that actress and her face looked more rounder and softer, she really did look a bit younger after she put on a small amount of weight after the show ended. I suppose I'm more used to seeing smoother, slightly more rounded faces here, which really does make some people look a lot younger, so that's what I go by.

~K+ 27th November 2005 02:25 AM

It's not just you, I completely agree with that.

Raleigh 27th November 2005 10:36 PM

Donno. To me she has the figure even if she's not skinny and the face of a younger woman. Most women start getting wrinkles and puffy eyes. To me she still looks younger than she is.

She's been using Botox. Botox is a somekind of nerve toxin which in in cosmetic use can smooth out wrinkles and make you look younger. a doctor injects it in to your face with a needle and the effect lasts for a couple of months. lots of older celebs both men and women are taking botox shots. I read from the tabloids a while a back about Madonna going to a clinic to get her face done with Botox.
her 'Hollywood' music vid has her taking Botox too , cos it's what most people these days in hollywood do :P

anyway , I like Madonna's music a lot. both the older & never music. I'm a big fan of eletronic music and Madonna has some really talented producers working with her. I like her lyrics in 'Ray of Light' , especially on my favorite song off the album 'Nothing Really Matters'.

'Hung Up' is really good , I love the part where the music sorta stops for awhile and only the muffled beat remains. I'm not that impressed with the rest of the new album yet but that song is just so good :yes

I don't really like Madonna herself. I wish she'd try to succeed with her music alone , but she's always making up all sorts of lame 'scandals' to keep herself 'relevant'. kissing britney (and Xtina too , but no one cares about this lol) , her anti-war stance , her whole 'erotica' phase , turning english , her phony spriritual awakenings (first catholic , then jewish , buddhist on Ray of Light and now Kabbalah , whats next?) and etc ....

I really do like Madonna too... but, I don't really listen to her music at all... I just like her. She is the Queen ^__^; I remember when I was way tiny, Madonna's "Like a Prayer" was the first music video I ever saw... I think I was a little shocked by it at the time... but now, as it was then, is one of my favorite Madonna songs ^^;

Her older stuff was okay, but her recent stuff makes me shake my head. The lyrics are horrible. I'm sorry. I don't mean to offend any fans of hers.

bondingo 18th January 2006 05:00 AM

I've always liked her older songs such as vogue and Like a Virgin and I used to hate her stuff in the late 90's but I love it now. American Life was also a great CD that I don't think got enough attention. But I do own Confessions on a Dancefloor and that CD really is great. I love how the songs link together with no break so it really is just this continuous dance party. There isn't a single song on it that I don't like.

Echoed_Memories 21st January 2006 06:36 AM

Ayumi no Yume 21st January 2006 07:39 AM

Never Heard her.
Only saw a weird...movie...once...last year...on TV..

ruixiong89 21st January 2006 04:30 PM

I think Frozen and Ray of Light were excellent! Madonna truly produces excellent work! When she released American Life, I think the single tracks in there were excellent, though it sold poorly because it went on sale just somewhere near the Iraq War (which was filled with vehement anti-war sentiments). But she definitely picked herself up again with Confessions on A Dancefloor. It's just techno, party crazy! She's really did an excellent job in blending pop, trance and techno with her album release this time. It's neither too one genre but very much quite a blend of a few genres.

Not to mention she's constantly striving to improve herself! Though I'm not very approving of her Kabbalah and her controversial nonsense ... but yup, she's really good!
