How are they receiving a lot of hate (in other words, negative reaction)?

Fans think SM doesn't need a new group because they don't give the proper promotion to the actual groups. f(x) fans are angry because they think SM cancel Red Light promotions for the debut of these girls.

SM didn't cancel it for these girls..f(x)'s promotions were cancelled because Sulli is a lazy talentless madam who can't avoid scandals and drama.

Oh man, if it wasn't on purpose, it's such a TERRIBLE timing, and if IT WAS, then TRAGIC idea :/ I really like the promo pics and the MV seems like it could be interesting, but seeing the hate they've already got just by singing for 5 second on a teaser, I feel bad for them.

It's unfortunate that all the hate they're receiving these days has more to do with how SM handles it's OTHER artists. The girls themselves aren't getting enough attention at all. :no
When I think about how much attention SM gave EXO before their debut (with those 1000+ teasers and pre-debut singles) and how little they gave these girls... :shakehead I just can't understand what's going on with this company.

As for the teaser and photos themselves, I agree with everyone who feels they don't seem very interesting. The music sounds meh, and, what's worse is that they don't seem to stand out as a group. But I too am excited for the full MV and the later performances. SM isn't the kind of company to invest in average groups and average-sounding music, so this better be good!

^ Probably because their debut prep for EXO wasn't as successful as they wanted it to be. They're IMMENSELY popular now, but it was a popularity that mostly grew in the year to follow their debut. I don't think they got enough return from EXO's debut (or at least as much as they wanted) for the 129010329502 teaser strategy to be a real success. Hence part of the reason I think it took a year for EXO to get a first comeback.

Besides, if they just repeated that strategy here, they'd get hate for ripping it off or recycling it. :shrug

This isn't a good debut song IMO, but I hope they can release something better

Anyway, I listen to the song, and isn't that bad :)

SM are re-editing the video and blaming the outside production company that produced the video (the same guys as SHINee's Dream Girl).

I actually like the song as the vocals seem quite nice. Still undecided on the MV.

Happiness is a great song, just the style I like in Summer, their voices are nice and the PV is interesting, fresh and fun. I'm gonna follow them from now on!

I never liked her in the first place. I like Amber and Krystal and Sulli's meh to me. Because I've only seen her lazy ass and bad mood face in all f(x) lives

other than that, I find the group kinda typical no-BOOM type. I can't tell the girls apart, apparently they all had 1 poor surgeon to look like twins, eh. song is not that hype-ying, and MV is a mess with racist stuff. I believe if they weren't under SM no one would really notice them

It's so good when you find a new singer/group you like, the first months are full of excitment over their every single breath!~

I like the song because it makes me happy. Sometimes I listen to way too much metal so it's nice to enjoy such a positive and uplifting song.

I feel like after Wendy's Shine on me~ part..the song should go into some sort of SHINee Everybody breakdown...it's kinda saddening to hear that repetitive chorus again straight after it.

According to the SMTOWN and Red Velvet Facebook pages, Red Velvet's second single called "Be Natural" will be out on October 13!

They killed it with this concept, joy looks amazing.

The new song is boring as hell, I was expecting something diferent like shhh from After school or something like that ( since the outfits are quite similar lol). At least they look amazing.

They look really good, the choreo is amazing, but the song is underwhelming... to blend for me, especially after Happiness, it's way too different.
It seems like they don't know what to do with them, which is a perfect waste of their talent if you ask me :/

I like the look of the group with this single but I do kind of think this song is a tad on the sleepy side for me. I'll still support Red Velvet and buy the single next week!

I really liked the original, and RV's version is really good

I'm finding it hard to say I bias just any one of these girls, Joy sticks out so much on stage, Wendy has an amazing voice, SeulGi has stage presence and Irene has a lovely vocal pitch too...

I hope they drop a physical soon, but this comeback is pretty standard turnaround for most kpop comebacks, 6-8 weeks....I wonder if they'll drop a mini soon?

It was easy with Happiness for their hair colours, but now is harder. I think I know who is Joy and Wendy. However Seulgi and Irene look alike.

You have to be blind to not know who is who.

Oh, their stylists are not good enough to give them individual styles and I'm the blind one?

Overall Red Velvet are one of my favourites.
The only release I didn't really like so far from then is Rookie.
I'm really happy they're so active, especially for KPop standards.
