So what we know at the moment: 第二性 The Second Sex: written and composed by Cheer Chen who got inspired by Le Deuxième Sexe (The Second Sex in English) by Simone de Beauvoir. It seems that the lyrics are homophones with Jolin's name (1 & 0 aka yi & ling). It's an uptempo song according to the description. Miss Trouble: co-composed by Jolin, lyrics by Ge Dawei. 不一樣又怎麼樣 It's Not The Same So What: lyrics by Albert Leung, music by Machoboy. The song is about marriage, basically it's saying that gender, ethnicity and class don't matter as long as there is love. The song conveys "positive energy". 自愛自受: lyrics by Shiren Cheung, music by William Wei. 第三人稱 Third Party: lyrics by Tom Wang, music by JJ Lin (Mosaic) 美杜莎 Medusa: lyrics by Yan Yunnong (Black-haired beautiful girl, The Great Artist, Journey) 唇語 Lip Language: a ballad. Lyrics by Liang Jinxing and music by Huang Sheng-Feng (both created Nothing left to say). No info yet about tracks 8 & 10 but I think they will be ballads. |

I like the arrangement for Third Party but I really don't like the melody and her vocals sound really unpolished and hard to listen to. :( I guess that's OK though since I never really like her ballads but mannn I heard the opening and got so excited lol.

It's quite possible. Maybe Jolin wants to surprise us fans with a secret collaboration. It's quite possible as Koda Kumi has already collaborated with Show Luo on "Twinkle".

Collaboration almost confirmed: journalists heard a chorus with "2 voices" in it, so they think that it's most likely a collaboration. And it's an upbeat song.

She's set to leave tomorrow. Actually Warner officially confirmed the fact that they were filming an MV together... They didn't confirm the collab' thing yet, but journalists said they heard 2 voices in the song on location. And Jolin never invited singers as guests in her MVs, only actors if I'm not mistaken. Anyway if there's really a collaboration coming, we'll know soon for sure since the album will be released on Saturday at midnight. |

Me too!!! I can't wait for this collaboration to be definitely confirmed to be honest! It might be for this song by the way: 草草了事 Get Through Carelessly. It's the only one whose credits haven't been revealed in the PLAY event last Saturday... Which is weird. And it hasn't been aired to the fans either. I already talked about it but I didn't give the title lol |
So we already have 2 pvs for Phony Queen and PLAY. I wonder what other songs will get videos? Third Party is already confirmed to have one, isn't it?
My current top 3: Play < Third Party <<<<<<<<<<<<< Phony Queen but sadly none of the three songs impressed me like The Great Artist did. |

I have to admit that I'm always surprised to see the impact The Great Artist had on people to be honest.
IMO the song is good but overrated and it got so successful thanks to the -amazing- MV lol I know it's an unpopular opinion, and don't get me wrong, I love the song, it's just that I don't think it's revolutionary or the best song from MUSE. But it's nice that it brought so many people to get to know her and her music. It seems that PLAY is doing the same nowadays too :) |
I don't think The Great Artist is THAT great either lol. I mean, I love it, but I agree it's totally not revolutionary or the best song from that album. Back when MUSE came out, I actually thought it was super weak and lame and just generally cheesy lol. Fantasy is what finally got me into the album though, but Dr. Jolin was the only song I really liked from the get go.

About the The Great Artist discussion I must say something. Jolin was the one that introduced me into Chinese music and The Great Artist was the first ever chinese song that I've heard. So just imagine my reaction when I saw that pv alongside that sick beat. I was really impressed. And even after two years I still love The Great Artist more than half of her discography : call it nostalgy or whatever but that impression remains even now :) |
I really love both Play song and the MV. From MUSE album, I sure loved the Great Artist MV, but the best song for me personally was Beast. and then Fantasy

Collaboration confirmed. It's called I'm Not Yours and is Jolin's first attempt at composing.
Lyrics are a mix of Chinese and English, and Namie sings a bit in Chinese. Namie said "If the Taiwanese fans like it, I'll be happy". The song has not been announced in Jolin's PLAY tracklist so I wonder if this might be a hidden track or will be in a repackage. http://img11.hostingpics.net/pics/92...1112004521.jpg There's also a Celebration concert scheduled for December 7th where Jolin will sing every song from PLAY. |

I just finished PLAY and I think it'll grow on me more once we get MVs. As is, the songs are all pretty cool but most of them lack a strong hook and the mixing and production honestly really kills the album for me right now lol. LOVE that she didn't include any generic ballads again though. I need to give it more time.

After listening to whole songs, i impress how she advances her music, not plays safe by doing the same. However, it lacks of hook songs and ear-addicted like Dr.Jolin and others that make me concerned about fanbase and sale. I finally tell this is one of her best album and i like it, recognize me Myself which can't hit me at once but i have to listen to it again and again for seeking something unboredly. Only two songs i have to try more are Phony Queen and the last song.

After listening to the whole album once, I can say it`s a very cohesive and nice album. Though none of the songs did grab me - it`s pretty experimental in sound. Have to listen more often to it, but it`s a good album without a doubt.
