When I was 13/14 just getting into Jpop this was the first song by Ayu I heard and it just got me through so much in my teenage years when I was filled with doubt, worries, insecurities, etc. I no longer relate to the lyrics now but it's still a song I immediately think of when it comes to Ayu.

evolution! And A Song for xx, SURREAL, Dearest and M. Those are the songs I listened to non stop when I was 13/14 years old.

For me it's M! It's classic Ayu and sums up her style of music well I think.

SEASONS or evolution hands down...I see both of those as her iconic "Ayu" song

SURREAL, and sometimes Lelio or Bold & Delicious for who-knows-what-weird-reason :tipsy

I would say either M, SEASONS, or Voyage. Those seem to be the ones everyone knows, so it's hard to go wrong with those when I first introduce her to someone.

Out of the three, I think M (from I am...; with the electric guitar interlude) provides the best impression since it sums up her musical style pretty well even when you include the past couple albums, like mi|kshake said.
