ayu's face in 2015
I noticed seeing photos and videos of ayu in the PV's of sixxxxxx for example, in the arena tour 2015 and the a-nation 2015 too, that her face isn't the same face of her, :shakehead maybe starting the transformation the last year.
And my question is why? Maybe too much botox? I don't know :no |
Sorry, I don't know how to insert photos. But there's one recent photo of her, posing with Urata Naoya backstage at a-nation 2015. She kinda look like Dara 2NE1 in that angle. I was like, "the fuck is Dara 2NE1 doing at a-nation?? Oh wait....this is Ayumi!" Took me a hot minute to realize that I'm looking at Ayu! :shakehead
|
Really? She looks younger, prettier and more natural to me than in recent years!! She looked more plastic in crossroad era with those collagen swollen lips...
|
Has a point though. In your sig, Ayu looks more Korean. Rounder face, softer features. Quite different from PQ, Ls, RnRC. It's either Photoshop, makeup, or work. I wouldn't be surprised if she's had some work done. It's not uncommon. Seiko Matsuda is probably a quilt. But I hope Ayu goes back to some of the more dramatic looks she's had. She has been really understated since PQ, and doesn't have that visual pop she had in videos like Why..., progress, and Sexy little things.
|
If anything, I would say she has put some weight on since last year, but that would be it. Camera angles and focal lengths can change one's look a bit, not to mention lightning and make-up (and photoshop), maybe that's why she "looks Korean"
|
Sometimes I think she looks generally like herself, but a lot of times something seems off to me. I stepped away from the fandom for a couple years and when I slowly started getting back into it, pictures like these blew my mind. It doesn't even look like her. If she had work done in the past, it was much more subtle I think. Idk.
|
She has definitely gotten work done on her face. It's very "tight" looking when showing emotion or expression. Especially her mouth, very artificial looking.
|
Funny, I think she looks more like she's always had now than she did around 2011-2012...
|
I mean, look at her here:
http://i.imgur.com/pSZv0yyl.jpg She looks like she put on 20+ years, and her face very unnatural looking. Like it has been manipulated too much. Would never guess this is the same beauty who did shots like this: http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-kxYQX4wzaC...kggco1_250.png Or the beautiful CD ONLY version. In the past, you were always able to see Ayu's youthful soul through her expressions. Now, I feel that youthful soul does not reach us. |
^ Or maybe because the pictures are 8 years apart? Haha, I'm sure she's had work done but she also has aged. She looks good and like herself if you ask me

I think it's pretty much a given that Ayu has had work done. Most if not all celebrities do - it's more rampant in Korea but given the K-wave, well... if not before, then definitely in the last few years. As for my opinion, it's her face. Let her do what she wants to it. Just try not to over-do it, Ayu :tipsy |
She looks younger this year, her face shows happiness and her soul quite well, she was very artificial in PQ era with that pink wig and fish lips; now I feel like she had like 23 years old. Of course she had plastic surgery like many other females in Japan; is not a crime.
|
I have to say I'm with those people that think she looks better. Of course she's had plastic surgery or maybe even botox but, to be honest, this is the happiest I've seen her in a long time. It makes her look great inside and out. I think looking-wise, this may be one of my favorite, if not my favorite year of hers. I love her hairstyle. I love how fit she looks. I love how content she seems. Sure, she looks different, but that's not necessarily a bad thing.
Isn't Ayu a smoker? Or was? (I could be wrong.) but that causes a lot of wrinkles at an early age and if she still smokes (or did) then she probably gets botox/maybe some work done to make sure she stays looking youthful/mature. She may not be the most popular artist anymore but she still is a celebrity and by God, if you dare to look like you're not in your twenties anymore then you'll be targeted hard by the media/internet. |
Now I can admit my surprise at so much people saying she looks younger. The new hairstyle fits her really well and especially that dark hair looks gold on her. But I definitely think she looks her age. Which isn't a bad thing tbh. I agree that she looks happier and fitter and this just shows in her appearance. But I don't think she looks younger this year.
|
I don't think she looks younger either, but I do think she looks better. Like whatever she's doing, it's working. xD I'm not sure how else to explain it.
|
I have no idea if Ayu had surgery or not. But am I the only one who is against plastic surgery, the whole obsession with youth and wishes for people (especially women) to look their age and that they don't have to get something done just so that nobody would call them granny when they don't look like 20 anymore?
|
Ayu looks a lot better and healthier to me than she did especially between 2002-2005
She would look like she was prematurely aging or something sometimes back then. But I guess she has spoken about body image issues in a more recent interview and how she wasn't eatong and what not. So I'm sure a poor diet also affected the way she looked. She just has looked so great for the past couple of years. And there are times when she takes photos that eventually go on twitter where I think they're old pictures from the past, which is nice. If she got work done, I don't know. I just think ayu's gotten botox and is a makeup queen. |

As for Ayu, I don't think she has had any sort of surgeries or botox. I think it's just makeup, healthier eating habits and other healthy stuff that she's doing that makes her look so good these days. :) |
^Sometimes is not for being youthful, kids don't have plump lips and they don't all have
big eyes. If you're not happy with how you look or if you just want to change your appearance then why the heck not? As long as it doesn't affect your health or whatever then why not? |
i have no idea what you people are talking about, LOOK AT HER lol
https://scontent-ams2-1.xx.fbcdn.net...83&oe=565E8237 To me she looks better than ever, youthful, healthy and glowing! Her age is showing but she's really ageing gracefully. I seriously don't know what you people are talking about lol I don't think she ever looked that good. let me just note one thing apparently korean beauty trends are actually coming into japan. Did dyou notice how she no longer has heavy make-up on? Like in the a-nation her skin was all glowy. Apparently the matt face is out of fashion these days in Japan, and girls go for a more dewy skin, the healthy glow. And i think make-up is really very responsible for her look these days. |

Ayu has gotten work done specially if you compare her face every year to the years before. I know that hair, diet and make up contributes to how a person looks but still who is she mystique. Don't think so.
|
I think ayu looks great. Like what a lot of people have already said, I think she looks happier than she has in ages and it shows in her look. She is also eating more healthy too but you cant also compare an 8 year old photoshopped photo with a on stage shot. She also has good shots from that performance. I think its just a mixture of lighting and not a good angle but she will start looking older, but she looks really good for her age. Some comments make out shes aged 20 years :P . Without makeup I think she looks younger
|
I don't think she necessarily looks different. Actually, I think in the cover art for "sixxxxxx", she looks quite similar to how she did on the "Days/ GREEN" cover... But that's just me.

^^she's smiling more in the bottom picture. You can't compare those pictures.

Spoiler:
Maybe is her new hairstyle that makes her look different |

... in these pics, I think she looks much more like her younger self from like '00 or '01 (ish) |
She's a chameleon tbh
Queen of many looks |
I think she looks great, besides gaining a little bit of weight her hair and makeup have also been on point lately. And I never think about her having plastic surgery because I don't care--that's her decision if she wants to get some procedures done of not. I'm here for the music.
|
Like people really think that you go to a surgeon like in a supermarket ?? I don't deny the fact that she might have some work done like some injections here and there and I know that she had her teeth fixed since the end of 2005 etc... but more I look to her pictures with no make-up the more I think she did nothing major even her eyelids seems not debrided but just glued manually !
I think the way she is make-up is definitely what make her look different from a picture to another and her ugly lenses don't help if you ask me !! Different really ?? more like someone who aged and has more "expression wrinkles" because she is not in her twenties anymore but nearest forties... http://img15.hostingpics.net/pics/82...0630194151.jpghttp://img15.hostingpics.net/pics/413442pSZv0yyl.jpg http://img15.hostingpics.net/pics/642519Sanstitre1.jpg http://img15.hostingpics.net/pics/194910Sanstitre2.jpg http://up.gc-img.net/post_img_web/20...9e15_24375.png |

Keep in mind she's probably in the process of getting new veneers (the missing tooth we spotted in August..) as they need to be replaced every 10-12 years, she's probably due a new set and they can dramatically change the appearance of your face.
I personally hate how fake her teeth/smile look. |
Every day I thank my lucky stars I didn't remember to wear my retainer after I got my braces off, lol... the straightness of my teeth as a teenager was really creepy, and the natural crookedness they've sorta gotten back since then is actually kinda cute :)
But yeah, like... There's something about her face when she smiles now where she looks like she has a mask on. I think it's how the wrinkles are on either side of her mouth - it's bunching up a bit differently, which makes it seem as though botox or some other kind of filler is happening. Do I think this is a bad thing, do I judge her for it? Hell no. Most of her smiles still light up her whole face & look very natural, and she looks genuinely happy when she laughs hysterically or has a giggle fit. And I truthfully don't know a single woman who hasn't had some sort of procedure done for beautification purposes - from laser hair removal to collagen lip fills to botox injections to breast augmentation or reduction, I know women who've had all kinds of procedures done that weren't medically necessary... but that didn't change the fact that they were awesome women regardless. The fact is, there is a ton of pressure on us to look a certain way. We can scream until the cows come home that it SHOULDN'T be that way, but that is the way it is, so I find it hard to judge any woman for a procedure she might get done - especially since the women I know who've had these things done are all fantastic, strong, and hard-working artists, mothers, friends, and managers. It's DEFINITELY sad that a working mother who manages a department at a fortune 500 company should feel insecure about something as trivial as a wrinkle on her brow line or an uneven chest, but if she can afford to get it fixed, why shouldn't she? |
I imagine Ayu has had some fillers or Botox but I also think that she looks very different without a fringe in the A-nation photos.
I also managed to 'lose' my retainer and my teeth have stayed pretty straight (have a permanent wire on the front four teeth) but I've got a little fang/snaggletooth come back. Think I'm lucky as there are people in Asia that pay for that! Unfortunately I've got to have braces back on and I don't think I can ask my orthodonist to keep my fang snaggled! |
Well, after music station i think it's pretty clear ayu got work done. When people mess with their face after a certain age its starts to show. but who cares shes at liberty to do what she wants.
|
as long as she still looks the same like before, where aging is just normal for human, i'm totally fine with it. she doesn't "change" her entire face, that's good enough.
for me, she looks so good right now, so happy, radiant and youthful. |
She does look better now than she did a few years back. There was a time when she was in LA and she had the long blonde hair and there were photos taken of her meeting fans and I remember thinking, "MAN she looks very old and haggard in these photos!"
I understand that those were touched up photos or anything but it's crazy how much healthier and youthful she looks now. She just looks like she's been taking better care of herself....Not to mention her dark hair is just much more complimentary to her age IMO. |
I'm probably the only one that thinks this but her current hair colour and cut is so unflattering on her face.
|
I love the color... I'm not partial to the cut at all though.

her face looks kinda full, yeah maybe thats botox but who cares
she always looked younger in darker hair and I dont really mind whats the diffrence tbh now I want her in short dark hair I would explode. |
I like her hair as of the LINE event though! LOL... the long voluminous side-bangs thing looks lovely, it's very (m)u like, and it makes her look much younger :)
