I thought there was a built-in prefix for Ami Suzuki when creating the thread, instead of a user-made prefix, which is the case... (>_<)

Ami Suzuki Gives Birth

A few months ago, Ami Suzuki announced that she was married and expecting her first child. On January 12, Ami gave birth to the child, a boy! The following day, she reported about the birth on her blog. Ami burst into tears at the first sight of her baby, tiny and crying loudly. She was overwhelmed with happiness. Ami promises to treasure and nuture her first born child. Ami also posted a picture of her and her son, which can be seen below!

Free Free is a great song and I do listen to it from time to time. Aside from One (which I had to google to recall the title) I barely remember anything after her "comeback".

Perfume are still running strong. Their style may be waning in popularity a bit, but they are still easily top 3 every single release. And they still do release singles. Like every non-idol artist, they are not as frequent because AKB48 and all the other ridiculous idol groups are overwhelming the market.

I would love Ami to come back with an album that's reflective of her DOLCE/Supreme Show era. I think she brought a lot of fun and energy to the music scene during that time. I just don't want to hear another release like Snow Ring. I can't even call that good toilet paper.

That's just too cute!

I keep checking her website in hopes of news about a new single. Disappointed. :(

^urgh, why are people like that. Billie Eilish said in a recent interview what i'm thinking everyday I come here: "Why does some wish for the "old" soandso - you can literally just go back and listen to that music. It exists." People and artist develop (thanks god), they are not there to stay the same for 20+ years.

That said, FREE FREE/SUPER MUSIC MAKER is one of the best J-pop singles ever.

^ Agreed. Even tho Ami didn't get a notorious celebration for her electronic partnership with Nakata (maybe because people don't even know she had an electronic era), she will be forever in the mark of great Electrodance Japanese Music. FREE FREE is for sure the best song Nakata Yasutaka ever made. Also, even if she releases new music, I don't think Ami would go back to electronic. She seems to be in a different mood now.

Also, I think she's still in avex but not especially related to music. I saw on a restaurant's Instagram telling that they were surprised to collaborate with an avex star to create a collaborative menu.

Sorry for the double post but lately I've been watching the variety show Suiyoubi no Downtown nonstop and then one of the episodes they had Ami as a guest (when she was pregnant in 2016!). I never saw this before and is pretty cute to see her.

According to Wikipedia, 5pb.Records is a record label and video game developer company. I think this song was used in one of them games, that's why it was released by this label instead of avex. I guess...

Ppl thought her last song was "graduation" in 2014 but in fact her last song is "パンパカパンツWHAT YA WHAT YAロック" in 2016.

And its her first MV in 12 years, thats why i can't recognize her face anymore, but her voice didn't change much!!

Too bad avex didn't put this release in iTunes or go update her official website (the last update was 2018, damn).

According to the Wikipedia page, it won "Google Play best app" in 2017. Also, it has over 43,000 reviews on Apple and almost 50,000 on Google Plus.

This is peanuts compared to, say, Spotify, which has over 2 million ratings on Apple, but still, it seems AWA has listeners in Japan. They're crossing over a lot with TikTok too, and having artists appear in "lounge" shows, so it seems they have their fans.
