I'm extremely late to the party, but I just listened to Christmas Wish for the first time...

I've only listened to Christmas Wish a few times but whenever I see it being mentioned I hear "MY LUCKY, LUCKY" in my head over and over again so thanks guys :laugh

Result of the lottery is out. I couldn't get the ticket again T.T gosh, am I not going to see her? Hahaha

Celaphorce 22nd December 2017 11:25 AM

^ same here -_- deeply saddened as I was hoping one of my entries would at least go through.

Baco__ 22nd December 2017 11:49 AM

I'm a bit afraid that the tickets are all sold out because of the fanclub and they're making a fool of us hauehauhe

chocopockymaster 22nd December 2017 01:50 PM

gaaah I didn't win either of my entries either

thinkingoutloud89 22nd December 2017 03:44 PM

Why didn't all of you join the fanclub? It seems like everybody got a ticket there and it wasn't that expensive...

Celaphorce 22nd December 2017 04:22 PM

I didn’t have money at the time. Was in between jobs so the little I did have was to cover expenses.

KarenPang 22nd December 2017 05:14 PM

According to Apple Daily Taiwan , they wrote that Namie will be singing 20 minutes on Kouhaku which will be the longest performance done by a single artiste on the show o_O

Apple Daily Taiwan quoted their own sources from Sponichi Annex and they said it as so with this being Namie's last time performing on Kouhaku , she's treated like a VIP in this exception case

Yep, I saw that on another Japanese source as well, so it could be legit. 20 minutes would be amazing. Don't know how they'd have time for everyone else though. Or they can just cut a lot of the crap between the artists; that would be nice. lol

What's unclear is whether she will be in the hall with everyone. It sounds like the performance might be elsewhere.

I did. Got the tickets, my card was blocked :C now I feel like I've just wasted my money T^T

EDIT: was this warning there when we applied for the fanclub and FINALLY vouchers?

*Please note that seat may be difficult to see the whole stage or part of the performance.

I don't remember seeing this and am afraid they are saying this because the seats that were reserved for general sales are sh*t uhahuauh

EDIT2: ARGH I CAN'T APPLY FOR THE TOKYO FINAL T^T since I applied before and didn't win they've blocked me :'( I officially hate my dad for the rest of my life. guess I'll have to wait for resales and pay like a thousand dollars for final's tickets? :'(

love in music 22nd December 2017 09:23 PM

I've been out of the J-pop/Namie loop for a bit. I did see an announcement on facebook a while back she was retiring but didn't take it seriously and thought it was a joke so I just scrolled past and went about my day. I had no idea it was true. I respect her decision and hope she feels it's the right one, but will miss her! Then I saw she had a new best album but had NO idea it would be as amazing as it is. Honestly, this is THE best best album ever, in my opinion of course, before y'all jump on me. I always had an issue with best albums as the majority don't seem to have that much new content, it's just reselling old songs - but the fact that each song on here was updated in some way, is absolutely amazing! I loved some of namie's older songs when she sung them live but had some issues with her vocals in the original songs - any issues I had are gone with these new versions, she did a fantastic job in each of them.

I mean, some of the resung songs on disc 2 seem pointless but I still appreciate the effort anyway. Also, the updated version of Dr. I enjoy much more than the original, like damn. I also enjoy all the new songs, "How Do You Feel Now?" being my favorite of the bunch. "Christmas Wish" is perfect for the holidays and already a classic in my eyes. :love

I just think it's so interesting to listen to all these songs and listen to how they changed them, and how her voice is different. This is how you do a best album. Unfortunately I don't think many artists will do them this way, I feel like it must have taken so much time, effort, and money for all of this. I really respect Namie for putting this out as her last work. Congratulations to her for the amazing sales as well, very much deserved!

KarenPang 23rd December 2017 02:46 AM

@ Baco - doesn't mean you're in the fanclub & won the ticket balloting it means that your seats will be great

It all depends on luck . You could apply for the general ticket balloting & yet your seat might end up better than a ticket obtained from a fanclub

Knowing that this's a Dome tour , it's hard to say as the venue's so big . It's different unlike an Arena , Hall & let alone a Live House venue

ShiniTakashi 23rd December 2017 03:01 AM

My friend tried applying with my CD code, but didn't get a ticket either. Seems like a lot of people weren't successful with the CD codes.

Edit:

Also, for those holding out hope, the most recent Hulu episode confirms that "Finally" is indeed her final album. So, unfortunately, there won't be any more new music from her ever again.

Xianghua 23rd December 2017 04:06 AM

I think the reason is that the CD lottery had more people entering than the fanclub lottery. So there was more competition which results in a lower success rate.

I mean, I knew that but at the same time I was still one of the people kind of wishing that maybe--just maybe--there would be just one more thing. It's nice to have confirmation though. Bittersweet, really.

jiarongisme 23rd December 2017 10:40 AM

Billboard article about the tour: https://www.billboard.com/articles/n...endance-record

"No more additional dates in Japan will be announced -- at least for the time being -- but Amuro is currently considering offers to play in Shanghai and Guangzhou in China, South Korea, Singapore, and Kaohsiung in Taiwan."

Lmao Singapore. I'm doubtful. But hey, if it does happen, I'm so gonna go. :laugh

KarenPang 23rd December 2017 10:46 AM

5 years ago when Namie was supposed to perform here , Warner Music did a horrible crappy job in promoting her concert & the fact that S'pore Indoor Stadium can accommodate about 10,000 fans and yet she can't sell out the venue , it's so embarrassing -_-

Now that avex has an office here , hopefully they will do things much better & hell yeah I so would go see Namie perform if she really does come here to perform

jiarongisme 23rd December 2017 11:26 AM

Warner Music Singapore was not responsible for the fiasco that happened with the 20th Anniversary tour. In fact, I think they've got zero involvement with the tour in the first place. They were just involved in distributing releases from avex's Japanese artists. It was the conflict between Midas Promotions (company involved in promoting the show in Singapore) and On The Line (Japanese equivalent) that caused the cancellation. Also, Singapore Indoor Stadium can only seat up to "7,306–7,968 during concerts" (source).

KarenPang 23rd December 2017 12:08 PM

I don't think Midas Promotion had enough experience to bring in JPop artistes here cos it's not in their expertise but still it was done really badly and unprofessionally

If other big Japanese artistes such as LUNA SEA , L'arc & most recently 2 weeks ago Suga Shikao can come here to perform , I don't see why Namie can't come back here to perform

Problem's , if Namie was not under avex , other companies like Amuse & SOZO might be able to bring her in and between the 2 , I always like the way Amuse does things as they treat fans respectfully (they even write down the flight details of their artistes who come here so that fans can go to the airport and welcome them personally)

Should Namie really perform here , I hope she can either perform at the S'pore Indoor Stadium if not Star Vista (great sound system & very much like Pacifico Yokohama) . Definitely not Sports Hub (even though the seating capacity is almost like a Dome) cos I know many artistes have sound issues when they performed there , only exception was Coldplay

Also regarding the seating capacity for S'pore Indoor Stadium , it's between 4,000 - 12,000 so it really depends how many seats the organiser wants to open up inside

http://www.sportshub.com.sg/venues/P...r-stadium.aspx

For ONE OK ROCK's 1st performance in S'pore Indoor Stadium next month , Amuse wrote they've opened about 10,000 seats

jiarongisme 23rd December 2017 01:04 PM

I do know that the indoor stadium can seat up to 12,000 people, but that's mostly for sporting events. Besides, the set for the 20th anniversary tour was huge, I doubt it would seat 10,000 people. In fact, it was confirmed that they opened up 7,000 seats (source). Star Vista's theatre is quite unlikely because, well, it's a theatre lol. I'm well aware that pop concerts have been held there before but I think it's unlikely that a dome show would be downscaled to the Singaporean equivalent of a hall. Especially when it's most likely gonna be such a large scale one. But I guess anything can happen.

Regardless, it's interesting to see that the organising team is still considering to add more dates/locations still. QUEEN OF CASHING IN THAT RETIREMENT FUND. I'll gladly pay more to watch Namie in Singapore, on top of the 2 Tokyo shows that I'm already going for.

Spoiler:
Any sources that said that ONE OK ROCK's concert will seat 10,000 people in the indoor stadium? I'm curious because labels/organisers wouldn't usually reveal the amount of audience members way before the actual concert.

KarenPang 23rd December 2017 01:41 PM

The venues that Namie will be performing outside of Japan don't have Dome seating capacity so I'm sure she will be able to do some modifications to the stage setup

I personally don't like Domes as I find them very intimidating . When my sister went Japan & attended her very 1st JPop concert which was seeing EXILE performed at Kyocera Dome Osaka , she was overwhelmed by how big the venue was inside

So much so that there were many entrances/exits inside until she had to ask other fans how to exit the area cos the layout was quite confusing to her

Also my sister spent about 40,000 Yen on the ticket which she bought on Yahoo Japan Auction but her seat wasn't good so most of the time she only saw EXILE perform via the screens :x

I like Live House the most as the close proximity you get from the artiste onstage away from where you stand no matter how near or far you're is there . I don't get that same feeling if I'm in a Dome cos I would feel like a spark of dust inside the place and you only can see the artiste on screen if your seat is not good

And seeing that next year will be the last time Namie will be going on tour before she retires next Sept , it doesn't surprise me that she has received offers to perform in other countries that're not on the list yet

As for OOR , my friend's friend works in Amuse that's why I know . I'm not sure if I'm allowed to disclose the number of seats Amuse has open though oops but I know they opened more seats to cater for more demand

Ken's Bar 2017 X'mas Special !! took place this weekend at Yokohama Arena but Mezamashi TV this morning aired some footages of both concerts

Ken's Bar is Hirai Ken's concept concert where it takes place in a bar like acoustic setting which he started it in 1998 . And during Ken's Bar , he will sing a mixture of his own songs & covers , this time round he covered Namie , Austin Mahone , Nakajima Miyuki

KarenPang 26th December 2017 10:17 AM

Supposedly 1 of the reasons why Namie decides to perform at Kouhaku for the final time is partially due to her son Haruto

In http://tieba.baidu.com/p/5492927951 , it was mentioned that Haruto shown an interest in hip hop dancing & also plans to enter showbiz in the near future like his mum

Hence Namie decides to perform at Kouhaku which she hopes by doing so NHK will be able to take care of Haruto if he wants to participate in any programmes that NHK organised

Not 100% sure if it's true though

SunshineSlayer 26th December 2017 04:11 PM

^ That doesn't really seem to be a reason that makes sense to me. This is the son of two famous parents; if he decides to go into entertainment like it is being speculated, any show will be opening its doors to have the son of Amuro and Sam on it; she wouldn't need to bargain for that to happen.

KarenPang 29th December 2017 01:45 AM

Namie will be singing Hero as part of this year's Kouhaku special project

She alongside with Southern All Stars' Kuwata Keisuke-san (who will be singing Wakai Hiroba) are the only 2 artistes that will not be part of either Red or White teams

Where In The World Is Namie Amuro? For Kohaku Performance, Mystery Remains

Quote:

Namie Amuro has signed on to perform at this year's "Kohaku Uta Gassen", but she won't be singing on the same stage as the rest of the artists on program.

The song Amuro will be performing is "Hero". Her performance is set to occur at 11pm and will last approximately 5 minutes. But where exactly will the performance take place? That remains unknown.

On December 29, rehearsals for this year's "Kohaku Uta Gassen" were held. Reporters waited to spot Amuro enter NHK Hall where "Kohaku Uta Gassen" is shot, but she never showed up. Amuro was not present for these rehearsals because she won't be performing there.

According to reports, very few people are aware of Amuro's true plans for the "Kohaku Uta Gassen" performance. Only a couple of high-ranking producers of the program as well as some NHK executives know what is going on.

An official with knowledge of Amuro's performance would not comment on whether it would occur in Japan or overseas. However, the official did confirm that it would be a live performance on a special stage.

Amuro's scheduled appearance on Kohaku Uta Gassen has created a lot of buzz for the program. Although ratings have steadily dropped through the years, NHK is expected a ratings bump as people tune in to see Amuro's last performance on Kohaku before retiring next year.
http://www.jpopasia.com/feed/22787/w...stery-remains/

Wouldn't surprise me if Namie will be performing in Okinawa as she wouldn't be in NHK Hall with the other performers

That said I wonder why NHK organisers want to keep Namie's performance location a secret ? Maybe they don't want any fans to mob her at the venue or something ?

Wouldn't surprise me if Namie will be performing in Okinawa as she wouldn't be in NHK Hall with the other performers

That said I wonder why NHK organisers want to keep Namie's performance location a secret ? Maybe they don't want any fans to mob her at the venue or something ?

More like they're keeping it a secret to drum up interest in her performance so they'll see a spike in their ratings. Everyone's going to want to tune in to see her sole Kouhaku performance, especially since they're keeping everything so tightly under wraps.

SunshineSlayer 30th December 2017 08:05 PM

I'm sure the performance will be something Olympic related. Perhaps in front of the Olympic flame or something.

Speaking of which...where is it? Has it made its way to SK yet?

pedronekoi 31st December 2017 12:08 AM

Wasn't her perfomance supposed to be 20min long? So she'll only sing Hero for 20min?

Baco__ 31st December 2017 12:14 AM

I thought the same thing, Pedro hahah

ahtka-chan 31st December 2017 05:23 AM

^
^No, her performance is only 5 min long.

~angel*ayumi~ 31st December 2017 08:52 AM

Can Kouhaku be watched somewere online?

thinkingoutloud89 31st December 2017 10:20 AM

I really think she is not in studio so she can properly sing and not cry like she did when she came back years ago.

Ah, sorry about that. I had it muted in a tab for a while now and it's still streaming for me, but I didn't realize they probably cut off connection to new streamers.

I found some alternatives, though they may lag and such. Kind of hard to find a decent high quality stable stream :/

everything was perfect about the performance! she looks and sounded stunning! I guess this will be her last tv performance.

thinkingoutloud89 31st December 2017 02:26 PM

She had amazing vocals...something a long live-show sometimes takes away

freedreamer 31st December 2017 05:38 PM

What did she sing!!! I need this performance

AJFmzk 31st December 2017 05:45 PM

^ She sang a shortened version of Hero, and she did an amazing job!
Edit: you can watch it here: https://www.facebook.com/ATC48/videos/1593936260686941/
Namie's part starts at 2 hr 16 min

h/t to Haraiso for the link

~angel*ayumi~ 31st December 2017 05:52 PM

jpopsuki has whole show but no seperate Namie part yet ><

Baco__ 31st December 2017 06:03 PM

Gosh, it's just namie standing still singing hero in a beautiful dress. I'm feeling so cheated haha I really disliked it - for the whole expectation, basically.

maxikot 31st December 2017 06:35 PM

In my opinion the performance was overhyped. They were keeping it in such a secret like she was about to perform from space or another extraordinary location. Also she didn't sound that amazing, the moment music was quieter she was weak. I like Namie and appreciate her work but this wasn't an outstanding performance in my eyes.

thinkingoutloud89 31st December 2017 06:49 PM

^vocally, it was great.

pedronekoi 31st December 2017 07:11 PM

It was not a WOW perfomance but it was really good for (possibly) being her last tv live ever.

I follow a lot of people from Japan on Instagram and I was surprised to lots of Instagram Stories about Namie on Kouhaku (and those people never post about anything related do J-Pop). So I think everyone was excited to see her again on TV!

Zahara 31st December 2017 09:03 PM

I absolutely loved it and she looked gorgeous.

I totally agree but as we know it's not something new (overhype). I kinda felt that this performance was overhyped in many ways. It obviously wasn't bad, she looked fine (except this IMO horrendous hair do), her vocals were okay/good but that's about it. I am not trying to be negative or anything, it was fine, it would have been a good performance if she was simply promoting the single but for a last appearance it felt kinda underwhelming. I can't say I was "disappointed" about the location since I was pretty sure it was only big hype about nothing but I expected more from the performance itself... I must agree with maxikot when it comes to how vocals were with less support of music... Maybe she should have chosen another song, used the stage more etc.. The performance was fine but that's sadly it... Sadly because although I didn't expect any special or outstanding venue, I hoped for Namie to "go with a bang" or at least with a memorable performance but on the other hand, what did I expect as it was Namie performing on a TV show...God, this post sounds much more negative then it is supposed to be...

melissalove 31st December 2017 11:23 PM

Oh please namie sounded beautiful, she looked beautiful, She showed deep emotion at the end. I mean, What do people want?? This is how she sings every ballad, just simply beautiful.

Katsuyuki012 31st December 2017 11:52 PM

Let's even say the performance was beautiful, even though I personally can't say it was but fine, she had (in theory) a pretty dress, sounded proper, some kind of special stage, lights, so technically it was fine or, let's say, beautiful. But I still can't say it is memorable in any way.

Baco__ 1st January 2018 02:38 AM

It's memorable because it's her last performance. But that's about it. I agree with you ^

haraiso 1st January 2018 03:12 AM

First round of tour goods are out!

http://namieamuro.jp/goods/

Mostly just things with the logo. I'm guessing she hasn't finished the photoshoot yet lol

Xianghua 1st January 2018 04:15 AM

I like the black&white theme and like that the logo is simple and elegant. But I wish the parker had a design on the back as it looks a bit plain. Can't wait to see the photoshoot and the rest of the goods!

I was impressed with how Kouhaku introduced and had Namie on the program. She was beautiful and delivered an amazing performance. Was really sad to watch...

S4MU3L 1st January 2018 03:16 PM

Awwww she ended up crying anyway, when im sure that the purpose to sing apart with no live audience is to avoid a Can You Celebrate Kouhaku moment lol.

Hero comeback to #1 on recochoku and itunes

They really couldn't do anything more creative with the beanie?! Ugh

Fanspace has thanked fans for voting in the tour setlist, and that 2,638,322 votes were cast!

They also set up a "special lyric site", but it's only the thank you message that was included with the fanspace version of Finally. Picture of the album jacket, Commercials, and videos from Red Carpet to Just You and I.

You need to log into fanspace to view. The site is nothing special.

On the lyrics site, when you click on each lyric phrase it'll play a little piece of the song the phrase is from. Not necessarily the actual words on the page, but a piece of the song so you know which song it is. Not sure about desktop but it plays on mobile. I'm not sure if there is another purpose other than to identify which song each phrase/word combination is pulled from.

That sounded so weird LMAO

KarenPang 2nd January 2018 03:55 PM

I downloaded finished the entire Kouhaku show & I watched Namie's performance of Hero

It's quite evident the Kouhaku hosts were very reductant to let her perform seeing that they were stalling for time

Namie's performance was good & I like the performance montage they put together before she started to sing . The stage setup reminds me of Anything PV to some extent

Was hoping her appearance on Kouhaku would allow the Red team to win but too bad she wasn't counted as part of them

Also vocals wise , I think Namie was on point . I've seen much worst TV performances , the most insulting 1 to me is lip synching especially on a prestigious show like Kouhaku

I'm not saying who's the culprit on here but I think their fans are so immune to it by now *deadpans and to me , I rather you sing horribly on live TV shows (ex SMAP's Nakai is tone deaf but he still sings live despite this) at least you tried . What's the point in lip synching on every song , even when comes to ballads ? :irked

pedronekoi 2nd January 2018 04:04 PM

@haraiso Thank you! I loved it <3 Can't wait to watch the full performance

Katsuyuki012 2nd January 2018 04:36 PM

Although she didn't lip synch it did sound kinda autotuned (not during verses though). Have been noticing the same with Namie's live tours. It's not as robotic as with ayu for example yet I do feel like they are very autotuned. Totally forgot about it until I watched some more recent performances of Namie e.g. What I Did For Love but also from her latest tour. Her Kouhaku performance of Hero and seeing excerpts from 5 Major Domes reminded me of that. Anybody else who noticed it with Namies tours etc.?
Well, given the fact how much she dances, uses her voice it'd be understandable.
